Genesis chapter 1

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was upon the deep, and the Spirit of God hovered over the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light. And there was light. 4 And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light day and the darkness night. And there was evening and there was morning: one day. 6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it separate water from water. 7 And God made the firmament, and separated the waters that were under the firmament from the waters that were above the firmament. And so it became. 8 And God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning: the second day. 9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear. And so it became. 10 And God called the dry land earth, and the meeting of the waters he called seas. And God saw that [it] was good. 11 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, grass yielding seed, fruitful trees, bearing fruit according to its kind, in which is its seed on the earth.” And so it became. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, grass yielding seed according to its kind, and tree yielding fruit, in which is its seed according to its kind. And God saw that [it] was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning: the third day. 14 And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heaven to separate the day from the night, and for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years; 15 And let them be lights in the expanse of the heaven to give light on the earth. And so it became. 16 And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars; 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heaven to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that [it] was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning: the fourth day. 20 And God said, Let the water bring forth living things; and let the birds fly over the earth, across the firmament of heaven. 21 And God created the great fish and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that [it] was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth. 23 And there was evening, and there was morning: the fifth day. 24 And God said, Let the earth produce living creatures according to their kinds, cattle and creeping things and wild beasts of the earth after their kinds. And so it became. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, and the cattle according to their kinds, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth according to their kinds. And God saw that [it] was good. 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that moves on the earth. 27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed that is on all the earth, and every tree that has fruit yielding seed; - [this] will be food for you; 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to every thing that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food. And so it became. 31 And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning: the sixth day.

At first. Part 1

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth"

Life 1:1.

In Hebrew, the original language in which the book of Genesis was written, this verse goes something like this: “Beresheet bara Elo x

im et
ha
-shamayim ve-et
x
ha-Aretz
.
The word "Beresheet"

in the Russian Bible the corresponding expression is
“In the beginning”
.
But, among the Jewish people, the word “Bereishit”
has a much greater meaning and deeper interpretation.
Among Jews, for example, there are about 70 interpretations of just the first letter of the word: “B”
(
bet
). And if we become deeply involved in the interpretation of just this word, we can spend a whole year on it, remaining only at the first letter, without moving further. Hebrew is a very amazing language, and therefore the Holy Scriptures have a wonderful depth of revelation. But we will not deal with letters, but will try to pay attention to some whole words, delving into their prophetic meaning.

The first word that we have already mentioned is “Bereshit”

.
This word speaks of the creation of time, the emergence of time. Therefore, the first thing God created was not heaven
and
earth
.
The Bible says: “In the beginning
...

.
This means that God's first creation was the beginning
.
The words beginning
and
end
are characteristics of time. Therefore, the first thing God creates was neither matter, nor space, nor the universe. The Lord creates time. Thus, time appears, it begins to flow, it begins to move forward. And only then does God create matter inside the already created, moving forward time.

Notice that we have heaven and earth, which are matter, but where were they created? "At first"

as the Holy Scripture says.
So, the first thing God creates is time
.
The sky, the earth, other matter, this entire physical world was created after the beginning
and the countdown of time began. Until this moment, time did not exist. There was no present, no past, no future. Time appeared only when God created it. It is important to note that God Himself lives outside of time. For Him there is no past, present, future. He created time for man.

Scripture says that a moment will come when all matter will disappear: “The day of the Lord will come,

...
and then the heavens will pass away with a noise, and the elements will burn with fire and be destroyed, the earth and all the works in it will be burned up”
2 Pet.
3:10 . “And the heavens were hidden, rolled up like a scroll”
Rev.
6:14 .
God created matter, calling it into existence, and it appeared within the period of time created before and measured by the Lord. Therefore, the Bible says that one day all material things will disappear, that is, all matter will cease to exist. A moment will come when time, created by God, will also disappear: “And he swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created the heavens and everything that is in it, the earth and everything that is in it, and the sea and everything that is in it, there will be no more time"

Open
10:6 .
So, God created time and a beginning appeared, a certain starting point. Further, there at the beginning (in time), God creates heaven and earth. With the advent of time, the days of God’s creation also appeared, as it is written: “And God called the light day, and the darkness night. And there was evening, and there was morning: one day"

Life
1:5 .
There was the first day of creation, then the second day. Time flowed, so it became possible to count days. In this period of time we can see that King David once lived, then the moment came when Jesus Christ came, then the hour of His crucifixion came. One day, the time has come and the moment of our birth has arrived. Therefore, we say that we were born on such and such a date, such and such a month, such and such a year, at such and such a time. And time moves forward without stopping, and within this time various events occur. You just read these lines and this event immediately remained in the past. We have only a moment of the present, one moment, and with each such moment we move into the inevitable future, which is hidden from us. We are created within time, so every moment we move through time into the future, which becomes the present, and then the past.

We can take a period of time and compile on a piece of paper a chronology of events that occurred during this time period. We will see the beginning of the period and the end. Let's divide this segment into two parts and mark the middle of this period with a dot. We will conditionally take our point to be the present. Now we can see all the events on the timeline that occurred from the beginning (conventional past), and those events that will happen later (conventional future). We will see the entire period of time as a whole and each event separately, because we will look at it from the outside, that is, being, as it were, outside this time. But if we were inside this time, then this would be impossible for us. If we are inside time, then our future is not known to us, but from the outside we see the entire chronology from beginning to end.

Many people are tormented by such questions: “How does God know everything?”

;
“How does God see everything, and how is this possible?”
;
“How can God be everywhere at the same time?”
.
God is outside
the time He created and looks at all our events from the outside.
Thus, He sees our past, present and future. Therefore, a question such as: “Where did God come from?”
, is incorrect. Something can only appear within time, but God has already existed and exists outside of time.

Everything that was created in the beginning has its beginning and end in time, just like the time measured by God itself. The human mind also has its own boundaries, and therefore is limited in its understanding of transcendental time. One should only understand that God is outside this beginning, since He Himself is the beginning.

and created.
The state where time does not exist, or the atmosphere in which God lives, and which is so difficult for the human mind to understand, is defined by the ancient Greek word “kairos” .
And the time that God created and in which we live is defined by the ancient Greek word
“chronos” .
Hence the chronometer, the clock.
We live inside a “chronos”
and our clocks are ticking, counting down the seconds.

Can we now look into the future or into the past? We have already noted that the future is not available to us. What about the past? The past is also not available. Today people continue to explore the universe, the matter that God created. It is clear to man that this universe is gigantic. People cannot find boundaries to space, although, in fact, these boundaries exist.

Speaking of the past, let's look at a small example. The North Star is located approximately 434 light years from earth. And the highest speed known to man is the speed of light, which is approximately 300,000 kilometers per second. What does it mean? It takes 434 years for the light from the polar star to reach the earth, and we could see one of the stars closest to the earth, not counting the sun. Light from the sun reaches the earth in 8 minutes.

If you raise your head to the sky tonight and see the polar star, it means that this is what it looked like many years ago. That is, at this moment in time you will see something that happened a long time ago in the past. Looking at the sky, a person sees the past, what happened a long time ago. Therefore, if something is happening on this star now, for example, it has gone out, then we will not have any information about this for many years. Everything has already happened there, but we won’t know about it. Why? Because God created us inside time. But for God, Who exists outside of time, our birth, the day of creation, and the end of time, all this happens at one time.

One more example. There once lived on earth a man who sinned in some way, did something bad. A day, two, ten years passed. Man has long since forgotten about this. But his sin, like the light reflected by the stars, continues to move in this universe, only its speed is much slower than the speed of light. Some time has passed and the sin committed by a person long ago, right now, begins to have a negative impact on something. This happened somewhere in the past, where it had long been forgotten, but it manifested itself here and did its work.

The man sinned and, after waiting a few days, he thought that nothing terrible had happened, that everything had turned out okay. But it continues to influence something, although it did not immediately appear. Written: «

their works follow them”
Rev.
14:13 . That’s why God says that a person will give an account for every word. You did something far in the past, and God says: “All this continues to follow you, it continues to influence your life.”
Why?
Because we are inside chronos
.
What we do, how we act, everything has its own value. We are still trying to understand the word "beginning"
.

So, God, who exists outside of time, created the period of time “chronos”

, defining a beginning and an end for it. From that moment the countdown began, a beginning appeared, within which God created heaven and earth, as well as all the other matter that surrounds us. At the same time, God Himself continues to remain outside of time, therefore, for Him, our past, present and future live and happen simultaneously. God sees everything at the same time, knows everything, penetrates everything, nothing is hidden from Him.

Science gradually moved forward over time. Theoretical physicist Albert Einstein tried to explain the relationship between time and space from a scientific point of view. While working on his theory, he began to understand the fact that time is a relative quantity. What we talked about earlier, namely, everything that is happening on the star here and now, in fact already happened many years ago, but at the same time, for us it is happening now. Einstein began to delve into this matter, and drawing his conclusions, he said the following: “So, both space and time are inseparable from matter

»
.

Heaven and earth, like the entire material world, were already created within time. That is, matter is connected with time. Without time, matter cannot exist. But time without matter loses all meaning. Therefore, where there is time, there is matter, and where matter exists, there is time. This must be learned in order to understand the nature and essence of God. So, time is connected with matter. Can God be connected with matter if He is outside of time? No. He's out of it.

Existing outside of time, God permeates everything, being everywhere at the same time. This is not given to us. But when we look from the outside at the chronological table we have compiled, as an image, we can touch it with our hand along its entire time line at the same time. Thus, God can control, touch, see, act and discern everything at the same time. He fills the life of every person with Himself at the same time.

People were created by God in the material world and have five senses in order to be able to cognize and explore this material world. Sometimes, living here in time, they come across things that they don’t understand and can’t fit into their heads. Then they start asking questions to which they cannot get an answer. And when they cannot get an answer, they begin to deny: “There is no God, because I don’t see Him!”

But our eyes were created so that we could see matter, and God is not matter, He is its creator.
That is, thanks to his senses, a person can only explore the material world created “in the beginning
.

So, we looked at the first word: “in the beginning”

, which in the original language is pronounced
“Beresheet”
.
The next word recorded in the Russian Bible is “created”
.
In Hebrew this word is pronounced "bara"
.

Russian word "created"

, is very well suited for translating the original.
Although, in Russian there are other synonyms for the word “created”
, for example,
“made, produced, created.”
But in Hebrew, all these synonyms have completely different meanings.
For example, to translate the word “to do”
in Hebrew, the word
“aces”
, which means a completely different action than the word
“created”
.
But the word “create”
in Hebrew sounds like
“yatsar” and this word has a different meaning.
For us, between the word “created”

and synonyms for this word, there is almost no difference, as if everything is one and the same. But actually it is not. And in Hebrew these are completely different words. If you think about it carefully, then even in the Russian language you can catch a semantic difference, we simply do not notice it.

A person is capable of making any thing with his own hands. To do this, he needs to take the source material and the tools with which he will influence the material, changing its shape. Let's say a man made a stool out of wood. But would it be advisable, in this case, to use the word: “created”?

.
In our case, this somehow doesn’t fit. But the word “made”
fits very well here.
Since the word “made”
implies that a person took something and made a thing out of it.
In the original, the word “bara”
, translated into Russian as
“created”
, has its own specific meaning in the Bible. It clearly indicates that it was made out of nothing.

Thus the word "bara"

used in the Bible only in relation to God, who creates out of nothing.
That is, He did not take something and change it by performing some kind of manipulation, in which case the word “made”
. But God had nothing, and He created, and it began to be. There was no time. God created. There was no matter. God created her out of nothing, and she suddenly began to exist within time.

Now let’s connect the first few words: “In the beginning

...
"
- namely, when time appeared and the countdown began, out of nothing:
"
...
God created heaven and earth
," that is, matter.
Out of nothing! This action of God is described by the word “bara”
.
That is, the sky, the earth, the universe - matter, were created by God within time from nothing. This is how everything came into being and this is what the Bible tells us about. The word “bara”
also reveals the fact that God created this world for
a limited time
. This is another meaning of this Hebrew word. The world created by God out of nothing will only exist for a while. After which, time and all matter created in it will cease to exist.

Born within this time, material people who are flesh cannot accommodate this event: “How can anything come from nothing?”

Therefore, they are trying to explain the appearance of the world from a scientific point of view, gradually studying the laws of nature, which, like the human senses, can only explain the material world created by God
“in the beginning
. It all comes down to an explosion that released a colossal amount of energy that gave birth to matter. The truth is that there are much more questions in this theory than in the first line of the Bible.

That's why the word "bara"

refers not to man, since this is impossible for man, but to God, for whom nothing is impossible.
This is where a person's faith in God begins. If a person is able to believe what is written in Gen.
1:1 , then he becomes a believer and everything else will not be difficult for him to accept.
If a person rejects this, then everything else is useless. So, we touched on the word: “created”
, in the original:
“bara”
.

The next word in order is the word: “God”

.
In the Bible, in the original language, we find the word: “Elohim”
.
And this is an amazing, amazingly interesting word. The word "Elohim"
in the original indicates the plural.
In the singular, this word sounds like “Elah”
.
This is where the name that is called in Islam as “Allah” comes from. But since the Bible says: “Elohim
,” it would probably be more correct to translate this expression as follows:

Gods
created heaven and earth
.
Gods
. The original clearly indicates the plural. Why?

Here is hidden the mystery through which God reveals himself to us as the Triune God. God is one, but He manifests Himself through three Persons. Each Person has His own will, but at the same time, these are not three Gods, but one, one God. In the Old Testament, and in the New Testament, both Christ Himself and the prophets affirmed through revelation that He is the ONE GOD

.
He is one and there is no other God. This mystery is revealed to us more deeply already in the New Testament, where Jesus Himself teaches to baptize people:
...
in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit”
Matt.
28:19 .
In the word "Gods"

The Lord reveals His secret, which, as His revelation of Himself, sent to man throughout the centuries, was recorded in the Holy Scriptures.
Through this, people with their limited minds could begin to understand some things regarding the essence and nature of the God who created all this. God desired from the beginning that man should understand Him. In the book of Genesis it is written: “And
God
: Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness
.” Gen.
1:26 . The plural word used here is “Elohim”
.
God speaks here about Himself: “in our likeness
. Thus, God reveals to man that the fullness of the Divine participated in the creation of this world, time, space, universe and Angels, namely: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - as one God.

So, God is one. Pay attention to these words of the Bible: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord.”

Deut.
6:4 . That is, God Himself, speaking about Himself: “We,” already
on the first page of the Bible, clearly, like a commandment, tells people that:
“He who speaks of Himself: “We,” He is one God
. This is the mystery of the Trinity of God, and we will touch on it a little.

Already on the first page of the Bible, God uncompromisingly and boldly declares Himself as: “We who are one”

.
God doesn't hide anything so it won't be a surprise later. He is not afraid of any misunderstanding or criticism from people, because He is the way He is. The Bible says: “Jesus answered him: The first of all commandments is: Hear, O Israel!
The Lord our God is one Lord” Mark.
12:29 . The first commandment is: “The Lord our God is one Lord
.
That is, there should be no doubt about it. God is one and there are no other Gods. Jesus said about Himself: “I and the Father are one” John.
10:30 .
“He who has seen Me has seen the Father”
John.
14:9 . He practically repeats the words of the book of Deuteronomy, which we read above, where God clearly, uncompromisingly affirms His unity. This is so that people do not have thoughts about polytheism or polytheism. What can we observe today in paganism, where there are various Neptunes
”,

Zeus

,

Apollos

, etc. People today have thousands and thousands of Gods, and they worship them all. This is complete madness.

In the Old Testament there are practically no hints about the Trinity of God, except for these places where God immediately says: “We”

and then:
“I’m alone.
I am the only God . Why? Because before the coming of Jesus Christ, it was generally impossible for people to understand the nature of the Trinity of God. God truly revealed Himself only in the New Testament. This happened with the coming of Jesus Christ and the moment when the Holy Spirit began to fill people. Only at this moment in the New Testament is the mystery of the Trinity revealed.

It is written: “When all the people were baptized, and Jesus, having been baptized, prayed, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove, and there was a voice from heaven, saying: You are My Beloved Son; I am well pleased with You!”

Onion.
3:21-22 .
What's the point here? Here is the Father - the voice of heaven, the Holy Spirit - in the form of a dove, and Jesus. During baptism, everyone is united, as if into one. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are completely united in Christ. This is the Trinity of God. Beloved, it is not easy to fully understand and embrace the Trinity of God. He is so great that we, by definition, are generally unable to understand Him with our limited minds. He says: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways.”

Is.
55:8 .
But why is it important for us to attend church meetings, attend seminars, and delve into the teaching? Because, seeing our zeal, God sends revelations about Himself to those who are thirsty, hungry, and needy. And through various images He begins to form an understanding within us. In order to understand anything at all, people sometimes devote their lives to it. Scientists are starting to figure something out, because they spend not an hour or two on it. They work, they research, and this research bears fruit. Decades pass in order to achieve and understand something. And later comes reward. How much time do we devote to understanding God? People do not want to devote their time or their lives to Him. By default, they consider themselves smart and wise, although they understand perfectly well that, in general, in order to understand anything, they need to devote themselves to it. But without devoting anything, they try to understand something. And God is above our laws, wider than our limits, because He Himself created all this for us out of nothing.

But God says that: “I touch those who seek”

. Therefore, He sends His revelation to all who seek and thirst. What does it mean? When it is impossible for a person living in a space limited by time to understand, impossible to realize, impossible to explore due to a limited mind, limited understanding, then God, seeing his aspirations, from His timeless state enters this time and touches the person, specifically you and me. When God Himself comes and touches us, we begin to understand something. Touching us, the Lord conveys to us His revelations, which illuminate with their light the previously dark places of our understanding regarding God, His plan and Eternity.

God dwells outside of time, outside of space. He is Spirit. But why do people ask questions about what God looks like, what form He has? Because, having created matter, God gave form to this matter. And people, being part of creation, having the form that God created, think that God should also look something. And if they can’t imagine how, then they reject it altogether. God, Who has no form, nevertheless says: “I will stretch out My hand against the inhabitants of this earth

...
"
Jer.
6:12 . And people think: “Oh!
God has a hand .
They read: “You
...
threw all my sins behind Your backbone”
Isa.
38:17 . “So He has a backbone
.
Or, for example, the Bible says that:
...
His ear is not too heavy to hear”
Isa.
59:1 . A person in his imagination immediately pictures God with ears. The Word says: “He looked at me
...

Job.
31:14 .
So there are eyes. People try to “humanize” God, making Him fit their format. But God is Spirit. Therefore, in order to sense, feel, hear, see God, God created a soul for us. And eyes, ears, tongue, hands are so that we can understand this material world. We perceive God with soul and spirit. But at the moment of the Fall, the flesh began to dominate the soul, and until that moment the spirit dominated. During the Fall it is written: “the spirit died”

. The flesh began to dominate and control. Because of this, this world has become real for man, because the five senses have not died, but continue to work.

And the organ that God gave to man in order to see God, feel, talk with Him, entered a state of death. And God gives him life. This is revelation, when God enters and begins to give life. When a person begins to need, to ask, the Lord begins to speak within him. This Triune God becomes a reality for you through revelation. Therefore Genesis 1:1

– this is the basis.
Do you believe what is written or not? God is known only by faith. You believe, then God begins to speak to you. Genesis 1:1
is the basis, the foundation of faith.

God is revealed through revelation, through faith. Therefore, faith is more precious than gold, which perishes. The most valuable thing people have is gold. And faith is more precious: “so that the tested faith of your faith, more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

1 Pet.
1:7 . There is no greater treasure than faith, because people live by it, people are united with God by it. God – Elohim
becomes clear.
Therefore, if you accept Genesis 1:1
, then you are truly a believer.

We live in this limited world, created for a short time. And God is unlimited. He is limitless in knowledge of the entire universe. He created it, therefore He says that: “And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist”

Col.
1:17 , and also moves and exists. All laws in our period of time were created by God. Therefore, all knowledge is with Him. He is also not limited in His power. Not limited in time. We are limited, we live for a short time in the body. In the body we are limited in time. And then when the body dies, we come out of it. Our eternal soul unites with God, and we pass into Eternity. And precisely because we live in this created world, we are not able to go beyond the boundaries of His creation. Therefore, it is difficult for a person to understand the word “Eternity”
, where there is no time, and where God Himself exists.

God exists by Himself. It is also impossible for a person to understand this. It seems to us that we are on our own, but we are not. We cannot exist without God; we live by Him. In order to exist, we constantly need the energy of life. We cannot help but eat, we cannot help but drink, we always need energy from outside for our life. And God’s self-sufficiency is absolute. He is not dependent on anything. We depend on everything. God Himself created this entire material world out of nothing, for a short time, and observes everything from the outside, supporting all laws.

13 And there was evening, and there was morning: the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heaven to separate the day from the night, and for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years;

15 And let them be lights in the expanse of the heaven to give light on the earth. And so it became.

16 And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars;

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light on the earth,

18 And to rule the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that [it] was good.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed that is on all the earth, and every tree that has fruit yielding seed; - [this] will be food for you;

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to every thing that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food. And so it became.
