Divine service at the Intercession Verkhnemakeevsky Monastery

One of the first to take monastic vows was the current abbot of the monastery, Abbot Alim (Nezhivov). The official status of the monastery was assigned with the blessing of Patriarch Alexy II in August 2004. Up to 20 inhabitants can live in the monastery. Divine services take place in two monastery churches:

  • in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos;
  • in honor of the great martyr and healer Panteleimon.

Interesting: the official head of the monastery is the ruling bishop, Bishop Simon, since the monastery is part of the diocesan domain.
