Awards

Despite the fact that the sacred path of the abbot of the Intercession Monastery is relatively short, he already has a number of awards.

  • The first was awarded in 2004. This is a legguard - an element of liturgical vestments in the Orthodox religion. It is a rectangle of fabric with the image of a cross, which is worn on a long ribbon near the right hip. The loincloth symbolizes the “sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God” and is given to priests for their zealous service to the Church.
  • In 2006, Father Peter was awarded the pectoral cross. Until the 18th century, only bishops could wear it. However, today a pectoral cross (which is worn on the chest, that is, on the chest, on top of the robe) is given to every priest for conscientious service to God.
  • In 2011, the abbot of the Intercession Monastery was awarded a club. This is a board with a cross on it. It completes the liturgical vestment and is worn on a ribbon at the right hip, while the loincloth hangs over the left. Symbolically, the club means the edge of the towel with which Jesus Christ wiped the feet of his disciples.

Pokrovsky Monastery

Even before the 1917 revolution, the Intercession Church was built in the village of Lukino. However, during historical events it was destroyed and closed. Only in 2000, a female monastic community was formed at the temple, which, by order of the Synod, was transformed into a monastery in 2006. The abbess today is Abbess Gabriela (in the world of Sukhanov). The services are conducted by Father Oleg and Father Peter.

Lukino in Russia is considered a special place marked by God. All the shrines in the monastery temple stream myrrh. This fact, combined with the wonderful gift of Father Peter, attracts pilgrims here from all over Russia.

Reception

The elder lives in a small cell at the monastery with an area of only 8 square meters. Here he receives the suffering. The elder now gives personal audiences on special occasions. More often, parishioners approach the abbot openly near the church after a morning or evening service.

Father Peter from Lukino (Nizhny Novgorod region) is not a magician or a psychic; he does not heal with herbs, tinctures or any magical passes. Only wise words, insight and a stick are his tools. The latter is perhaps of particular interest. Pilgrims often call it the sacred staff. As soon as Father Peter touches a person’s sore spot with it, the illness soon goes away. Sometimes, in order to bring some sense to non-believers, he “beats” this stick on the head (“drives away demons”). It does not cause pain, since it is light and hollow, but the wise words and instructions of the elder after this reach the ears and consciousness of those suffering.

Father Peter from Lukino does not charge anything for the reception, but grateful pilgrims bring food, sometimes money, which goes towards the maintenance of the monastery.

Information for pilgrims[edit]

For all questions regarding accommodation and meals for pilgrims, please call 8 (999) 078-30-92. Free food and accommodation for those wishing to work in the monastery. Meals and overnight accommodation for excursions are provided by prior arrangement.

You can get to Elder Archimandrite Peter only by appointment: on weekdays after 14:00; on Saturday - only for one pilgrim group (by appointment, call: 8 (999) 078-30-92)), there is no reception for private individuals - only for small or large groups; There is no reception on Sunday.

Rituals

You need to understand that visiting an elder is not an entirely ordinary event. It requires special preparation. So, if pilgrims arrive at the Intercession Monastery during Lent, then reception to Father Peter is possible only through unction. This sacrament is performed by another priest - Oleg. His legs are partially paralyzed, but he is so devoted to serving God that after the ritual he literally remains wet.

In other cases, confession and communion are sufficient. All this is a kind of ritual of a parishioner’s entry into the Orthodox faith, his deeper immersion in the atmosphere of religion, understanding and awareness of his path. Some sufferers, thanks to these sacraments, are already receiving relief and answers to the questions that torment them.

There is also a ritual of ablution, which is performed in two sources. The first is the Intercession of the Virgin Mary, the path to which lies through the forest. There are two fonts at the source: men's and women's. The ceremony is performed accompanied by prayer chants.

The second source - Joy to all who mourn - is also miraculous. The water in it has healing properties. It relieves the symptoms of radiculitis and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The source is located near the Intercession Monastery in Lukino.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, Father Peter is widely known, so almost everyone here can tell you how to get an appointment with the abbot. There is no entry. Everything happens on a first-come, first-served basis. In order not to get confused, the photo of Father Peter can be seen above in the article.

Reviews for help

On Sunday, Father Eli held a service in the Moscow region (Peredelkino district). Then he approached people and gave instructions. Many thanks to him and good health! Helped my husband and I a lot. We arrived for the first time and got in right away.

Victoria

I was lectured by Father German. It helped in one go. In my temple they said that only he can help. There are no more priests in Moscow with such power.

glad

I went to Father Valerian Krechetov for confession and communion. Now it’s already difficult for the priest to conduct confession, but he conducts services and communicates with people. He often visits the Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia. This is next to the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary. During Lent, he can almost always be found in church.

Interesting Facts

The elder is almost 70 years old; only for the last eight years has he been receiving pilgrims: healing, giving spiritual advice. He already has many miracles in his collection. However, Father Peter himself does not attribute them to himself. He says it is a group work of God and believers who turn to Him with an open mind.

  • So, they brought to the abbot a young man who fought in Chechnya, was wounded and became deaf in one ear. The soldier's relatives tearfully asked Father Peter in the Nizhny Novgorod region to help. After long prayers, the abbot approached the guy from behind and hit him on the back of the head with his staff. The patient's hearing returned. The elder himself explains this miracle this way: during prayers he holds a stick in his hands. It is charged with divine power and then bestows healing.
  • Not only ordinary people, but also metropolitan deputies come to Father Peter for help. Of course, their names are not disclosed, but the fact of such visits is confirmed by the elder himself.

  • Father Peter was married, but his wife died. After this, the elder had a dream that his mission was to help the suffering. So he came to the monastery.
  • At first, when the monastery was just being restored, the abbot served alone. There was a lot of work; a person was needed for the position of sexton. A group of pilgrims arrived from Europe, among whom the elder noticed a guy. He did not drink or smoke, was resilient and disciplined. After his third visit to the Intercession Monastery, Father Peter persuaded the young man to stay and made him his assistant.
  • The abbot has no special education, but the elder is called perspicacious - a wonderful gift was given to him from above. Father Peter tirelessly reads spiritual literature and books about other healers. He says that you need to develop and constantly grow spiritually, even if you have some abilities.
  • At the end of 2021, a film about the Intercession Monastery in Lukino (Nizhny Novgorod region) was released. Father Peter is given a large part in it. The directors showed the elder’s conversation with the head of the pilgrimage group. The abbot shared information about himself and answered spiritual questions.

Actual information

Great elders are the same people. No person has yet been able to live eternal life in the material world. Everyone leaves sooner or later. Unfortunately, some clergy passed away not so long ago:

  • On February 2, 2021, Archpriest John Slugin, who served as a cleric at the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Moscow, died. He was 77 years old;
  • On October 13, 2021, Elder Naum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra departed to God. Reviews of the clergyman were passed from mouth to mouth, many people dreamed of meeting him. The priest was one of the most revered elders of the Orthodox Church;
  • On February 20, 2021, Archimandrite Kirill passed away. At the time of his death he was 97 years old. The memories of people who were lucky enough to meet the elder formed the basis of the book. The editor of the publication was clergyman Viktor Kuznetsov;
  • On December 1, 2021, after a long struggle with the disease, Archimandrite Dionysius (Shishigin) died. Father was devoted to service until his very last days. He not only met people personally, but also transmitted sacred knowledge in his articles. His works can be found on major Orthodox resources. One of the most important creations of the archimandrite is the work “Patriarch Pimen and His Time,” to the writing of which he devoted part of his life;
  • Archimandrite Jerome (Shurygin), whose last years were spent in Chuvashia, departed to the Lord on August 28, 2013, on the day of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. But even now extraordinary phenomena are associated with it. People who came to his grave noticed that real miracles began to happen to them. Everything they sincerely asked for came true. The grave is located in the city of Alatyr, where pilgrims often visit it. The archimandrite was a resident of the Assumption Pskov-Pechersky Monastery for more than 40 years;
  • And pilgrimages do not stop at the burial place of the Saransk elder Theophan. Father Theophan was a very bright and sympathetic person; everyone who knew him during his lifetime loved the holy father. He was a confessor at the Makarovsky Ioannovsky Theological Monastery in Mordovia. Now people come to the elder’s grave, as before, for advice, help and healing. They say that miracles began to happen more often.

Blessed memory of the great elders, whose whole life was service to God and people. But those who need help should not despair. In Russia and Ukraine, those endowed with the gifts of the Lord are still alive and faithfully fulfilling their duty. Not one of those who turned to these wise people for support has yet regretted their decision.

However, it is worth thinking about the words of the old nun Matrona. She argued that before going to the elder, she should pray to the Lord to give him the correct answer to the question. One way or another, the future depends not only on the orders of the sages, but also on whether these advice will be followed.
