How often do they read prayers to saints and the Lord asking for help, guidance, and protection? How often do you thank God? Gratitude is a small price to pay for what we have, what the Lord has given us.
Ungrateful people are no better than sinners; they do not appreciate God's mercy, which means they do not respect themselves and their surroundings.
It seems to many that their life is boring and gray, there is no joy and happiness in it, and they have nothing to thank the Almighty for, but as soon as they read the prayer “Thanksgiving for every good deed of God,” everything around them will appear in a different light.
Words of gratitude are pleasant for everyone; this is how respect and recognition are expressed, this is how love is shown. For his labors, for his gifts to us, the Lord, like no one else, deserves that people read prayers of gratitude for every good deed of God. It doesn’t matter where you live or what language you speak, it is important that the words of gratitude come from the heart.

Prayer of thanksgiving is the most powerful
Let's talk a little about the prayer of petition and the prayer of thanks. Why do I want to talk about this? Because we often forget to thank God and always just ask, ask and ask. I want to start with a little story.
They say that there were two angels who flew from earth to heaven and hurried back. And one rushed to the sky and back every second, around the clock, and the other only several times a day. And one day the one who was standing more and more than flying asked the other:
– Listen, why don’t you take a little break?
He answers:
- I am busy. I need to think about the mission God has given me, and I don’t have any time. Not a second of free time.
-What is your mission?
– My mission is to deliver petitionary prayers to God.
And asks him:
– What is your mission? I see that you very rarely fly to God.
He answers:
– My mission is to deliver prayers of thanksgiving to God.
I think you understand the meaning of this parable: we rarely thank God. But, of course, we endlessly ask: “Grant, God! Help me, God! Do this! Don't leave me! Lord, I can't do this. Lord, I have debts to banks. Lord, make sure my children don’t get sick. Lord, Lord...” And when everything is fine with us, we don’t say: “Thank you, God! Glory to You, God! This is enough for me, Lord, You have given me everything in abundance.” We do not share good things with our neighbors, we do not give to the poor: “Help them too, God! You have given me enough." No, then we forget about Him. And here let us turn a little to the ten lepers from the Gospel (see: Luke 17: 12–19).
As the Holy Scripture tells, ten lepers came to the Savior. (The same way we do it: we run to church, to the unction. They came running: “Lord, have mercy on us, do something. You see...”) You understand - it was leprosy, then it was even worse than cancer today. They were expelled from among people. Therefore, all ten lepers huddled together in a flock in order to somehow survive, and walked through deserted places. They didn't approach people. And when they heard that someone was performing healings - they didn’t even know who it was, they didn’t know that it was the Lord - they also dared to appear before the Lord the Savior.
What did the Savior tell them?
- Go and show yourself to the priests.
The same thing that tells us now:
- Go to the priest and confess. Go to unction, begin the Sacraments of the Church, go to the Holy Liturgy and be healed.
That is, this is what we need. And what did the lepers do after this? They went and showed themselves to the priests and, of course, were healed. And one of them returned, threw himself at the feet of the Savior and began to thank:
- Thank you, Lord, for saving me, for helping me.
And the Savior looked at him like this and said:
-Where are the others? Were they not healed?
- Yes, Lord, we were healed.
“So why didn’t they return to give glory to God?”
They forgot to thank Him! They ran joyfully and forgot who helped them, who healed them, they forgot that it was God who helped them. And again they plunged into the worries of life.
We do the same, my dears. We often forget to thank. God doesn't need our thanksgiving. We will not think that God lives by this. But He rejoices, rejoices when He sees that we are grateful, that we thank Him, when we are satisfied with what we have. However, no, we ask all the time: “Give me, God! Give it to me, God!” - and when he gives, we rejoice, but we don’t thank Him, and if he doesn’t give, we begin to scold Him. What are we doing?! And we also want everything to be fine with us.
How can it be good? If an earthly person who does good to you helps you, the next day you will begin to scold him, if you do not tell him: “Thank you for the good that you have done for me,” and the next day you will begin to condemn him and scold him, then how will he look at you?
Let's look at this from the other side. In a family where there is a father, a mother and children, the father goes out of his way, tries, works all day and returns home tired in the evening. Mom also spends all day in the kitchen, cooking, taking care of the children, washing them, trying to make sure they have everything they need. What about children:
- Dad, I want you to buy me this, I want you to buy me that. I need something like this. I also want a bicycle, I also want - I don’t know what else is there: - a telephone, I also want a laptop. I have already grown up, I want unknown things.
They are boys. And the girls want clothes, they grow up and start asking their mother:
“Mom, I want such and such a dress, such and such a brand, and I want it to come from somewhere unknown.”
Children ask for everything. And when parents can, they buy, and when they can’t, they explain to them, and sometimes they can even scold them:
- Stop it, we don’t have that opportunity. Don't you see how we struggle like fish against ice to make ends meet?
Situations are different, right? Now let's look at this another way. When the same children, if dad comes home from work as tired as he is, don’t attack him: “Did you bring me this? Did you bring that?” - no, but they run out to meet him, hug him, kiss his hand and say to their father:
- Thank you for working for us. Thank you for everything you have done for us. You came back so tired, trying to make sure we have everything we need. We thank you. We don’t ask you for anything, we are grateful to you for taking care of us, bringing us what we need, and giving us something to put on the table.
Or they run to their mother in the kitchen:
- Mom, let's help you! We are so grateful to you that you work tirelessly here all day long - and kiss your mother’s hand. And they hug mom.
Let's think about what it's like for mom and dad when they get this from their children? Don’t they rejoice when they see that they no longer ask them, but know how to thank them, that they are grateful to them? That is, a hug is the strongest. One simple movement of holding them in your arms and saying, “Thank you.” This brings tears - if not from the eyes, then from the hearts of the mother and father when they see the gratitude of the children.
Now you understand how God looks at us - we are His children! – when are we grateful, when do we thank Him: “Lord, we thank You, Lord”?
So, my dears, let’s also try to be a little more grateful, and not just ask: “Lord, give, Lord,” and when we don’t like something, don’t scold Him, the same God with whom we were yesterday they asked for something. God is good, God is love, He is merciful, but we must also thank Him. Let's not forget about this. And this does not mean that God needs something, it is we who need God.
God is love, He is merciful, but we must also thank Him. Let's not forget about this
I read a wonderful thought somewhere. It said that one “thank you, God” can do as much as 300 “give, God, help, God.” After all, everyone asks: “Grant, God! Help me, don't leave me, God! Protect, God! Heal me, God!” – I don’t know what other possible petitions are possible. What about “thank you, God”? And that is why this “thank you, God” is so valuable before God:
- Thank you, God! Thank you, Mother of God, thank you, dear Mother! You took care of me, helped me. Thank you!
Help your neighbors, help those in need:
– Thank you for taking care of me, Mother. I thank You for interceding for us before Christ God every day, praying, crying, so that He does not punish us. Thank you, Mother.
And you light a lamp.
Let us thank both God and the Mother of God:
- Thank you, God, thank you, Mother of God! That I woke up this morning. I thank You, God, that I made it home this evening. Thank you.
So that we always have “thank you” on our lips, for it has great value with God.
And we will accept what we did not ask from God and the Mother of God. If we say “thank you.” God knows what we need. Before we even think we need something, He already knows it. And the Mother of God tirelessly intercedes for us.
If you knew with what love, with what tears, how She cries and prays for us, so that God would have mercy on us, take pity on us, protect us, help us! And we forget about this. And we rush in all directions, running after all this matter that we will leave here. So many people die, leave here, and everything they have remains. Why are we chasing this? Instead of putting all this aside and going to church a little, saying: “Thank you, God,” giving a memorial “so that my family will be remembered,” going to poor people who have nothing to eat, bringing them something from your surplus, so that always this “thank you, O God” was vivid.
I saw this at home as a child. There were nine of us children. You know what it was like then, during communism, in the village, in a small house, we were all housed in two rooms. But my mother did not allow a single beggar to leave our gates empty-handed: a few eggs, a little flour, a little potato, anything. There wasn’t much money then, my dad, poor, worked all day at the factory and took home what he could, but the salaries were meager then. But mom didn’t let anyone go. Dad sometimes even scolded her:
Mom never let a single beggar leave our gates empty-handed.
- You bring everything from home. Stop it, we have so many children, don’t give it all away.
But she didn't let anyone go. Sends big sister:
- Come on, quickly, so that dad doesn’t see. Run quickly, give it to a beggar (gypsy woman, someone else). Do you see it standing at the gate? This means he has a need.
Always like this. And when I grew up, he put a couple of bottles of milk in my knapsack:
- Go over there, see that widow standing there?
We had one blind man. I remember bringing him two bottles of milk, how happy the poor fellow was!
That is, parents do such things, and children adopt them. And all this is a matter of thanksgiving! Let us give thanks somehow, with deeds, not just with words, with something. Let us give thanks too, because God gives us blessings so that we can pass them on, so that we can help. There are so many poor and needy people around. And we may have something left over.
Yes, my dears, and this is also called love. Because if we do something, help, we do it out of love, from the heart. So let's try to be more grateful and always thank God and the Mother of God - and we will also thank everyone around us who helps us.
God and the Mother of God take care of us. Yes, my dears. May the Mother of God help us and protect us.
We thank you, Mother of God, for helping us and for us to live to see this day. And whatever the Good God sends us next, let it be.

Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity, St. John of Kronstadt
O Trinity, our God! Simple Being, who created our soul in Your image, so that in You we have our life and peace! O Trinity, our Nourisher and Hope! Give us in You alone to always place our hope, in You alone to find life and peace. About the Trinity! You, like a mother, carry us all in Your arms and feed us all from Your hands, like the most tender mother! You will never forget us, for You Yourself said: even if a woman forgets her childhood, I will not forget you to nourish, preserve, protect, deliver and save.

We praise God to You, we confess to You the Lord, The whole earth magnifies Your Eternal Father; To you all the Angels, to you the Heavens and all the Powers, to you the unceasing voices of the Cherubim and Seraphim cry: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts, the essence of Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of Your glory. The glorious apostolic face is to you, the prophetic number of praise is to you, the bright martyr’s army praises you; Throughout the entire universe the Holy Church confesses to You: the Father of incomprehensible majesty, worshiping Your true and Only Begotten Son, and the Holy Comforter of the Spirit. You are the King of glory, Christ, You are the ever-present Son of the Father; For the sake of deliverance, when you received a man, you did not disdain the Virgin’s womb; Having overcome the sting of death, you have opened the Kingdom of Heaven to believers; You sit at the right hand of God in the glory of the Fathers, the Judge comes to believe. We therefore ask You: help Thy servant, whom Thou hast redeemed with His honest Blood, to reign with Thy saints in Thy eternal glory. Save Your people, Lord, and bless Your heritage, correct them, and exalt them forever. We will bless You all the days, and we will praise Your name forever and ever. Grant, Lord, that on this day we may be preserved without sin. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us; May Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we trust in Thee; in Thee, Lord, let us trust, let us not be ashamed forever. Amen.

Thanksgiving for every good deed of God
It is customary to thank the Lord throughout the day. As the Apostle Paul said: “Remembrance of God’s good deeds and constant thanksgiving are the best means of maintaining a good disposition towards oneself.”
You can thank the Lord for every good deed with different prayers, but the most popular among them is the following:
Troparion, tone 4
Give thanks to Thy unworthy servants, O Lord, for Thy great good deeds upon us; we glorify Thee, bless, thank Thee, sing and magnify Thy compassion, and slavishly cry out to Thee in love: O our Benefactor, glory to Thee.
Kontakion, tone 3
As a servant of indecency, having been honored with Your blessings and gifts, Master, we earnestly flow to You, giving thanks according to our strength, and glorifying You as the Benefactor and Creator, we cry out: Glory to You, All-Bountiful God.
Glory even now: Theotokos
Theotokos, Christian Helper, Your servants, having acquired Your intercession, cry out to You in gratitude: Rejoice, Most Pure Virgin Mother of God, and always deliver us from all our troubles with Your prayers, One who will soon intercede.

Prayer is not just words spoken in moments of joy or, on the contrary, sadness. No! Prayer is something more, namely the ascension of the mind and heart to God, the acceptance of the spirit of God while still on earth. The power of prayer is extremely great.
In the words of Saint Demetrius of Rostov: “Prayer not only defeats the laws of nature, not only is it an insurmountable shield against visible and invisible enemies, but it even holds back the hand of the Almighty God Himself, raised to defeat sinners.”
One has only to remember that prayer helps only if those praying follow a number of rules.
The most important thing for successful prayer is the right attitude. During prayer, you should not be angry, rush, or be distracted by foreign objects and thoughts: you only need to tune in to communicate with God. As Silouan of Athos noted: “If someone prays to the Lord and thinks about something else, then the Lord will not listen to such a prayer.”
Reading should be done with attention to every word spoken. You must delve into the meaning of prayer and then convey this knowledge to your soul; otherwise, the prayer simply will not reach the Lord, because as believers say, “because hearing depends not on a multitude of words, but on the sobriety of the mind.”
Prayer should be crystal honest: there should be nothing ambiguous or artificial in it.
After finishing your prayer, you should not immediately begin your everyday activities. Stay a little, think about the words spoken, but most importantly, try to maintain the state of mind and soul that you achieved during prayer.
And one last thing. As the Monk Nicodemus the Svyatogorets wrote: “Know that you cannot succeed in prayer without succeeding in general in the Christian life. It is necessary that there should not be a single sin on the soul that has not been cleansed by repentance; and if during your prayerful work you do something that troubles your conscience, hasten to be cleansed by repentance, so that you can boldly look to the Lord.”
Every day more and more people come to the site molitvoslov.today. This is what it was created for: to ultimately become the most popular and complete collection of prayers, akathists, canons and images of icons in RuNet.
But to develop the resource, funds are needed: annual domain renewal, payment for hosting and services for article authors. I don’t want to cover the site with advertising like a Christmas tree. Therefore, a small request to everyone who scrolled down the page to this point and who liked molitvoslov.
Prayer to the Lord2
Audio:
We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present in us, the unworthy, the former, about those known and not known, about those revealed and unmanifested, those who were in fact, and the word vom: who loved us as he loved the Only Begotten You are willing to give your Son to us. Make us also worthy of Your love. Give wisdom through Your word and through Your fear, inhale strength from Your power, and whatever we want or don’t want to sin, forgive, and not impute, and preserve our holy soul, and present To Your throne, I have a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Your love for mankind. And remember, O Lord, all who call on Your name in truth: remember all who desire good or evil against us: for all are men, and every man is in vain. Moreover, we pray to You, Lord: grant us Your great mercy.
Translation: We thank You, Lord our God, for all Your good deeds, which from childhood to this day have been performed on us, unworthy: about those that we know and do not know, about obvious and hidden, past deeds and words. You loved us so much that You were willing to give Your Only Begotten Son for us. Grant us also to be worthy of Your love. Grant us wisdom through Your word and inhale strength from Your power through Your fear, and if we have sinned in any way, voluntarily or unwittingly, forgive us and do not hold it against us. And keep our soul in holiness, and place it before Your throne with a clear conscience, and give it an end worthy of Your love for mankind. And remember, Lord, all those who call upon Your name in truth: remember all who wish us good or hostile: for we are all men, and every man is vanity. Therefore, we pray to You, Lord: grant us Your great mercy.
What do they thank the Lord for?
Before an important task, they ask God for blessings, they look for support in difficulties, healing in illnesses, protection from bad thoughts and enemies.
But words of gratitude after completing a task or healing, at the end of the day, even if it did not bring joy, are said much less often. “Thanksgiving for every good deed of God” should be read not on special occasions, but constantly.
And if thoughts arise that there is nothing to thank the Lord for, then you should think about this:
- The Lord has given us life and soul;
- He supported and watched over us, our ups and downs, protected us in difficulties and helped us overcome them, even when we didn’t ask;
- For all awards and achievements we owe to Him;
- His lessons and trials have made us who we are today;
- Thanks to Him, we have family, friends, home, work and many other important components of our lives;
- All our past, all knowledge and experience were given by the Lord.

Prayer of the Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt3
Audio:
God! What will I bring to You, how will I thank You for Your constant, greatest mercies to me and Your people? For here I am every moment revived by Your Holy Spirit, every moment I breathe the air diffused by You, light, pleasant, healthy, strengthening, I am enlightened by Your joyful and life-giving light, spiritual and material; I feed on sweet and life-giving spiritual food and the same drink - the Holy Mysteries of Your Body and Blood, and material food and drinks of sweetness; You clothe me with a bright, beautiful, royal robe - with Yourself, according to the Scripture: those who were baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Gal. 3:27), and with material garments of beauty in the temple and outside it; You cleanse my sins, You heal and purify my sinful passions, many and fierce, You take away my spiritual corruption in the power of Your immeasurable goodness, wisdom and strength; fill me with Your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of holiness, grace, give my soul truth, peace and joy, space, strength, boldness, courage, strength; You endow my body with precious health; You teach my hand to fight and my fingers to fight (Ps. 143:1) with the invisible enemies of my salvation and bliss and with the enemies of the holiness and power of Your glory - with the spirits of wickedness in high places; You crown my deeds done in Your name with success. For all this I thank, glorify and bless Your all-good, fatherly, all-powerful power, O God, our Savior, our Benefactor. But be known as you were known to me, O Lover of Mankind, and to your other people, so that they may know You, the Father of all, Your goodness, Your providence, Your wisdom and power, and glorify You with the Father and the Holy Spirit now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

- About the increase of love and the eradication of hatred and all malice
- Troparion, tone 4
- By the union of love, Thy apostles are bound, O Christ, and we, Thy faithful servants, are thus firmly bound to Thyself, to do Thy commandments and to love each other impersonally, through the prayers of the Mother of God, the One most loving of mankind.

- In times of disaster and when attacked by enemies
- Troparion, tone 4
- Soon let us preface, before we even enslave ourselves to the enemy who blasphemes Thee and detests us, O Christ our GOD: destroy those who fight us with Thy Cross, so that they may understand, as the Orthodox faith can, through the prayers of the Mother of God, the only one more loving than mankind.
- Kontakion, tone 8
Chosen Voevod and Lord, Hell to the Winner! Because I have been delivered from eternal death, I have written praise to You, Thy creation and servant; but as if you have unspeakable mercy, free me from all troubles, calling: Jesus, SON of GOD, have mercy on me.
Psalm 90
Alive in the help of the Most High, he will dwell in the blood of the Heavenly God. Says the Lord: You are my Protector and my Refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. For He will deliver you from the snare of the trap and from the word of rebellion, His splash will fall over you, and under His wing you hope: His Truth will bypass you with a weapon.
Do not fear from the fear of the night, from the arrow that flies in the days, from the thing that passes in the darkness, from the cuttings and the demon of the midday. Thousands will fall from your country, and darkness will be at your right hand, but it will not come close to you. Otherwise, see your eyes and see the reward of sinners. For You, O Lord, are my hope: You have set Your refuge on the Highest.
Evil will not come to you, and the wound will not come close to your body: As His Angel commanded about you, to preserve you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their arms, but never dash your foot against a stone; step on Asp and Basil and trample the lion and the serpent. Because I trusted in Me, and I will deliver, And I will cover, And because My Name is known.
He calls to Me, and I will hear him: I am with him in sorrow, I will destroy him and glorify him, I will fulfill him with the length of days and show him My salvation.
Prayer to the Honest Cross
May God rise again, and may His enemies be scattered, and may those who hate Him flee from His face.
As smoke disappears, let them disappear; As wax melts in the presence of fire, so let demons perish on behalf of those who love GOD, and who make the sign of the cross, and who say in joy: Rejoice, Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, drive away the demons by force upon you, our drunken Lord Jesus Christ, who descended into hell, and trampled upon the power of the devil, and gave us His Honest Cross to drive away every adversary. O Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Virgin Mary and with all the saints forever. Amen.

- Lutz and Cleopas traveled to Emmaus, O Savior, and now go as Thy servant, to those who want to travel, delivering them from every evil situation: all because You, as a Lover of Mankind, can do it at will.
- Prayer
LORD Jesus Christ, our GOD, the True and Living Way, will you travel with your imaginary father Joseph and the Most Blessed Virgin Mother to Egypt, and Luca and Cleopas to Emmaus! And now we humbly pray to You, Most Holy Master, and travel with Your grace as Your servant. And like Thy servant Tovya, a guardian angel and mentor, preserving and delivering them from every evil situation of visible and invisible enemies, and instructing them in the fulfillment of Thy commandments, peacefully, safely, and healthily present, and again whole and serenely returning; and give them all their good intentions to please Thy safely and fulfill them for Thy glory. For it is Yours to have mercy and save us, and we send up glory to You, with Your Beginningless Father, and with Your Most Holy and Good and Life-Giving Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

- Speedy in intercession alone, Christ, show speedy visitation from above to Thy suffering servant, and deliver from illnesses and bitter diseases; and lift up the praises of Thee and glorify Thee unceasingly, with the prayers of the Mother of God, the only one more loving than mankind.
- Kontakion, tone 2
- On the bed of illness, wounded and wounded by the mortal wound, as sometimes You raised up Peter's mother-in-law, O Savior, and the weakened one on the bed of the bearer, now and now, Mercy, the suffering one, visit and heal: For you alone are the ailments and diseases of the day. Yes, ours was carried and all might, Yako Much Merciful.
