The structure of “Spirit of Pleasure”* or “Spirit of Food” 食神 Shi Shen refers to the stars of self-expression in the bazi chart. Where is the human spirit mentioned in the Bible?
He is mentioned in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, for example in 2 Tim. 4:22:
The words “let there be” in this verse refer to the present tense. They mean that we can experience right now that the Lord is in our spirit. They also mean that in order to know and enjoy Him, we really need to know our spirit. From the very beginning of the Bible we see that God created us with this human spirit. In Gen. 2:7 says that “God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.”
Where is the human spirit in this verse? We see that the “dust of the earth” has become a physical body, and the words “living soul” refer to the soul, the psychological part of man - his mind, feelings and will. What is the “breath of life”? The words "breath of life" refer to the third part of man, the human spirit. This is confirmed by Proverbs 20:27, which says: “The spirit of man is the lamp of Jehovah.” For the word “spirit” in this verse and for the word “breath” in Gen. 2:7 uses the same Hebrew word, neshamah!
What is the human spirit?
Our spirit is the deepest part of our being and was created by God to contact and receive Him. In note 4 of Gen. 2:7 The Restoration Bible explains what spirit is:
The spirit of a person is his internal organ, with the help of which he can come into contact with God, accept God, contain God within himself and absorb God into his entire being as his life and everything for himself.
This ability of our spirit to contact and receive God can be illustrated using a radio. A radio, when turned on and properly tuned, can receive invisible radio waves. A coffee pot or microwave oven cannot do this. In fact, a radio receiver is the only device that can properly receive these radio waves and convert them into sound. Our human spirit is like this radio receiver, and God is like the radio waves. Our spirit is that part within us that can receive God and contact God. Our other parts—our body and our soul—are important, but they function differently. It is only through our spirit that we can contact God and know God, who is Spirit.
Why is the human spirit so important?
The human spirit is very important to God because God wants to fill us with Himself. He wants us to receive Him, and the spirit is a unique “receiver.” Our Christian life begins with our human spirit. Think about what John 3:6 says:
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit .

The first Spirit spoken of here is the divine Spirit, the Holy Spirit of God, and the second spirit is the human spirit, the regenerated spirit of man. Regeneration is accomplished in the human spirit by the Holy Spirit of God through God's life, the uncreated eternal life. Thus to be regenerated is to receive divine, eternal life (in addition to human, natural life) as a new source and a new element of a new personality.
This means that the moment we believed in the Son of God, Jesus, His Spirit entered our human spirit and we were regenerated! We were born of God, received His divine eternal life in our spirit, and became His children. Our human spirit is the only place where God's Spirit enters into us to make us His children, and it is also the place from which He continues to fill our entire being.
Our Human Spirit and Christian Life
Once we realize that the Lord Jesus lives in our spirit, we need to apply this revelation and try to use our spirit to constantly contact Him and accept Him as our life. Here's how to do it:
- We can contact the Lord Jesus in our spirit first in the morning, and then do this continuously throughout the day, for example, simply by calling on His name - “Lord Jesus!” It is like spiritual breathing.
- We can use our spirit to contact the Lord in prayer and pray the Word of God. When we pray, we don't have to look for any sensations in the senses, and when we read, we don't have to just try to understand the Bible with our minds; we must learn to turn to the Lord who is right in our spirit, from the very depths of our being. Then our Bible reading and prayer will be fresh and full of divine life. We will taste God every time we pray and read His Word, and our thirst for the Lord and His Word will increase.

And this needs to be done in advance, when you are still planning your pregnancy, in order to choose the best time for this and try to minimize possible complications. Then the likelihood that pregnancy and childbirth will proceed favorably increases. In order to say something about children in a woman’s life, you need to know exactly the hour of her birth, because it is what is called the “children’s palace.”

Material pleasures, of course, give us pleasure, but they are limited in volume and quality. We cannot eat more than our stomach capacity allows and sleep longer than our body requires. The human soul is essentially immortal, and therefore longs for eternal life on Earth. It is taken from a place called Taanug Nitskhi
- “eternal pleasure”, therefore it constantly pushes a person to search for pleasure here on Earth.

The spiritual, rational and pure soul pulls a person towards spirituality, and the body - towards materiality. When the soul wins, it elevates itself, and at the same time the body, and then a person acquires primordial perfection, is awarded eternal pleasure and achieves the goal of creation. And if it yields to materiality, the body and soul sink along with it, perfection is not achieved, and the gifted life is deprived of meaning.
