Decorative garden fountain of a closed cycle.

a garden fountain
that is easy to operate and is as follows: water from a reservoir located under the fountain enters a pump located at the bottom and, under pressure, rises through a pipe or hose, spreads over the decorative part of the fountain and returns to the reservoir.

A closed-circuit fountain operates without connecting a water supply or drainage system. Water is added to the tank as it naturally evaporates in the air.

In addition to the configuration described below with a separate tank, there are modern decorative fountains

closed cycle, which themselves serve as a water container (they do not need an additional tank), for example, the fountain of our production “Universe”. It can be installed both in the landscape and in the interior; all that is required is to plug it into an outlet.

The list of main elements of each fountain includes the following components:

Equipping beautiful fountains in your dacha garden will not be difficult and will not require the involvement of an installation specialist; just follow the simple algorithm in the attached assembly instructions.

· Pump (pump) for supplying and withdrawing water (requires electricity supply);

· a reservoir filled with water. The water container can be “buried” and then its lid is decorated with pebbles and for the observer the decorative part of the fountain stands on the ground; or the reservoir can be above ground, the decorative part of the fountain stands on the reservoir, the appearance of which should also be decent, at the same time the fountain turns out to be taller.

· decorative part of a fountain or sculpture for a fountain.

· optional: stand for the decorative part of the fountain, fountain nozzle, lighting. If desired and possible, you can additionally arrange a drainage system for draining water and a water supply system for supplying water.

Naturally formed fountains called geysers are known - as, for example, in Kamchatka or in (Yellowstone Park).

In everyday life, a fountain is a specific hydraulic structure, which usually performs a decorative function. A fountain installed in a park changes its appearance, becomes more beautiful, the sound of water calms you down, and allows you to relax[5].

Decorative fountains are classified according to various criteria:

  • by size and location - for outdoor
    and
    indoor
    (room and tabletop).
  • in terms of decorative design - compositions that imitate natural landscapes or architectural structures in miniature; abstract compositions that do not have a clearly defined “plot”. Classical and sculptural fountains can be considered separately.
  • by the presence of dynamics in the operation of fountain and lighting equipment: static
    and
    dynamic
(or as they are also called - “singing” or “musical” fountains, also fountains with dynamic lighting -
    color-dynamic
    ).

- a garden fountain with a comic surprise. Cracker fountains were one of the elements of ceremonial residences of the regular park style. Characteristic architectural styles are Mannerism, Baroque and Rococo.

There are also “dry” fountains, when a niche of a pool of water is hidden under a grate on which you can walk, and jets of water shoot upward from the grate.

In recent years, the “Floating Ball” type of fountain, which uses the well-known natural property of incompressibility of water, has become widespread throughout the world.

Musical [ | ]

Main article: Musical fountain

A musical fountain is a type of fountain that has an aesthetic design and, when combined with music, creates an artistic performance. This effect is achieved through the intersection of water waves and light effects created by spotlights or lasers.

Sound waves and light are projected onto a water screen created by the precise distribution of water jets by the fountain nozzles, and then refracted and reflected to create a three-dimensional image. Many of the more well-known ones are large-scale, using hundreds of fountain heads and laser projectors, some costing millions of dollars, although smaller "at-home" facilities also exist. An example is the musical fountains on Sentosa Island in Singapore.

Many specialized companies offer hardware and software that turn pumps and lights on and off to change in time with the music connected to the system.

Drinking fountains[ | ]

Main article: Drinking fountain

Drinking fountains have a utilitarian function, allowing for increased hygienic safety when quenching the thirst of the mass consumer. Drinking fountains are used to ensure drinking conditions in educational institutions and production workshops. Modern drinking fountains are capable of cooling and purifying tap water. In Vienna, drinking fountains are installed on the streets of the city.

for sculpture or bowl on a brick or concrete base or directly into a constructed monolithic concrete tank.

pump is mounted nearby

, from which comes a flexible hose /pipe/ for supplying water. It passes through the sculpture from which water is supposed to erupt, or it comes out in the middle of the bowl.

Making and arranging a fountain in the garden

It is important to correctly calculate the pump power to maintain the required pressure and volume of water.

— It is possible to additionally install a special nozzle

, regulating the water supply power and the type of jet, and thereby set the desired water picture (we'll talk about this below).

— Often, such fountains have a fairly large tank or pond, decorated with natural stone or tiles, so a water supply pipe and a drainage pipe are connected to it.

— Of course, such fountains in the garden can and should be illuminated!

Do not neglect the lighting: the aura of an illuminated fountain creates a fabulous and joyful atmosphere, gives a feeling of celebration, reflections of light play in drops of water and these reflections greatly increase the decorative effect.

Fountain lamps must have proper IP protection; today there is a good range of lighting for fountains on the market, these can be individual directional lamps, ring or linear lighting, etc.

What types of fountain nozzles are there in terms of shape and water pattern?

If a designer garden fountain requires the presence of some kind of water pattern, then it is necessary to decide on the type of fountain nozzle. Let's list the main options for stories created by water:

· Single jet. The water pattern of this type of nozzle is very simple - one stream of water shoots upward.

· "Bell". Water rising from the pipe falls down in the form of a hemisphere.

· "Hemisphere". As a rule, such a nozzle is presented in the form of a ball with many holes from which water splashes out, forming a hemisphere.

· "Fish tail". The water pattern created by this nozzle consists of streams emerging from the center at an angle of about 35 degrees.

· "Tiffany". A combination of a powerful bell and a less powerful fishtail.

· "Tulip". The water does not come out upward, but at a slope of 30 degrees, forming a funnel.

· "Ring". On the surface of one large pipe there are holes at equal distances from each other. Thanks to this, the water, rising, shoots out in several powerful jets, and not in one continuous one.

· Single sprayer. Water shoots out of the nozzle in the middle at an angle of 15-20 degrees, creating a large jet pressure.

· "Spinner". This attachment creates a rotating water picture.

· "Foam pillar". The water jet is saturated with oxygen, which creates the effect of a foam column.

Fountain on Exchange Square

For a long time, Birzhevaya Square was occupied by car parking, but in 2017–2018 a pedestrian zone was made here. Its main attraction was the semi-dry fountain.

This building is unique for Moscow. The fountain looks like a tilted round slab (it is sometimes informally compared to a ruble coin). On one side, the nozzles are hidden under the surface, on the other, the water is drained into a large bowl. Walking on the slab will not work, but resting next to it is easy. The fountain is surrounded by a parapet on which it is comfortable to sit.

Depending on the time of day, the fountain operates in several modes: during the day it often barely comes out of the ground, and in the evening you can see a real light and music extravaganza. The water jets are illuminated in bright colors and rise several meters in height - all to the accompaniment of popular domestic and foreign musical compositions.
