If you were invited to Ilya’s name day, then it is better to prepare for this holiday. First, you need to find out the character traits and interests of the birthday boy, since he often seems cold and withdrawn to people. But in reality this is not entirely true.
Holy Prophet Elijah, commemoration date: August 2
He was born in Thesbia of Gilead 900 years before the coming of Jesus Christ. The memories of St. Epiphanius of Cyprus about the birth of this child have been preserved. Elijah's father, Sovakh, saw in a "subtle dream" how various righteous men welcomed the birth of this baby. And what's more, they swaddled him with fire.
From a young age, the boy decided to devote himself to the Lord. He settled in the desert, fasted very strictly, and prayed incessantly. God called him to prophesy during the reign of King Ahab of Israel.
At this time, the Israeli people withdrew from a righteous life, forgot God, and sank more and more into pagan darkness. Trying to bring the Israelis to reason, the holy prophet Elijah began to denounce the wicked king Ahab, he called on the ruler to repent. But the king did not even want to listen to him. And then the prophet said that as punishment for such an indecent life and unwillingness to repent, there would be neither rain nor even dew on the land of Israel for three years. A great drought will cover this area. And only through the prayer of the prophet can this stop.
Terrible days began for the Israeli people, drought, famine... One day, the prophet Elijah, by God's providence, visited a poor widow in Sarepta of Sidon, who was preparing to die by starvation with her children. Elijah asked her to make him a flatbread from the leftover flour and butter. The widow complied with the honorable guest's request.
Since then, through the prayer of Saint Elijah, the supply of food provisions in this house has never been exhausted throughout the famine. At the same time, the prophet performed another miracle - the resurrection of the deceased son of this widow.
As soon as three difficult years had passed for the people of Israel, the Lord sent his prophet to King Ahab. The saint ordered to gather all the inhabitants on Mount Carmel. He proposed to build two altars: one for pagan idols, and the other for the True God. All people will have to worship that altar on which righteous fire will fall from heaven. And those who do not recognize this will be subject to death.
The pagans were the first to approach their altar. For dozens of hours they asked their idols to send fire, but this did not happen. When it was already dark, the prophet Elijah erected his altar of 12 stones. (according to the number of tribes of Israel). Through the prayer of the saint, fire came down from heaven, admonishing all the lost. Many cried and said that there is no other God but the True One! The Prophet Elijah killed all the pagan priests and made his petitions for the gift of rain. God heard the prayers of the righteous man. The sky opened and a heavy downpour finally wet the land of Israel. After this, King Ahab admitted his actions were erroneous and sinful. He began to repent, but his wife Jezebel could not come to terms with this and threatened to kill the holy prophet. The Prophet Elijah retired to the kingdom of Judah and began to ask God for death for himself. Then the Lord’s Angel appeared to him and began to strengthen him and instruct him so that he would move on. This journey to Mount Horeb lasted forty days and nights. Here he settled in a cave. Saint Elijah waited in it for a storm, an earthquake, a terrible flame... and after that the Lord Himself appeared to him. It was revealed to the prophet Eli that he had saved 7 thousand faithful servants of God, those who did not worship Baal. For such ardent faith and confession, Elijah was taken to heaven alive, without suffering bodily death. Before this, Elijah “anointed” the prophet Elisha for prophetic ministry. It was he who witnessed Saint Elias ascend to heaven in a chariot of fire. According to the covenants of the church, it is the prophet Elijah who will become the harbinger of the Terrible Second Coming of Christ. During the sermon he will die physically. | Icon of the Holy Prophet Elijah |

Venerable Elijah of Muromets (Pechersk), memorial date: October 11, January 1
Very little reliable information has been preserved about his life. Presumably, he was born in 1143 in the village of Karacharovo near Murom. His parents were peasants.
From time immemorial, he has been identified with the hero Ilya Muromets. From childhood until the age of 30, he was paralyzed, and only after meeting three elders who appeared before him in the form of beggars, he was healed.
Having received his parents' blessing, he went to the Kyiv prince Vladimir Monomakh. For a long time he was in his squad and did not know defeat.
However, one day in battle he was wounded in the chest. She turned out to be incurable. And then, Saint Elijah takes monastic vows in the Kiev-Pechersk Monastery. Around 1188 he departed to the Lord, at the age of 45.

Ilya’s character is restrained, which is the main reason for his “even” attitude towards strangers and close people. Owners of this name are very often dissatisfied with their current successes, which forces them to achieve more. But such an attitude only does not give him the opportunity to enjoy momentary happiness. Therefore, Ilyushas are often very arrogant and grumpy.

Parents often choose Elijah the Prophet as a patron for a boy. He was born in 900 BC. From an early age he gave his life to serving the Lord. He lived for a long time in the desert, observed strict fasting and prayed a lot. He was persecuted by King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. The Lord appeared to him and called him to become a prophet, consoling him that he was not the only one suffering in the name of the Most High. For his unshakable faith and life, the prophet was taken into the kingdom of God alive, thereby avoiding the pain of physical death. What name is traditionally Russian?
Many even consider them traditionally Russian names. But in fact, a Russian name should be immediately understandable to a native speaker, it should be speaking. There are such examples, for example, the name Vladimir perfectly stands for “rule the world,” Bogdan means “the child whom the Lord gave.” There are quite a lot of such examples in the Russian language even now.
But neither Maria, nor Ivan, nor Ilya, nor Evdokia, nor many other Russian names considered traditional, are deciphered. This happens because in fact all these are foreign, or rather, Jewish, Greek, Roman names.
These names came to us along with Christianity and have since taken root.
And many Russian names gradually became Christian, when the people who bore them were glorified as saints.
Aries
This nature is impulsive, passionate and contradictory. By nature, such men are born leaders who are concerned about those for whom they are responsible. However, they will never hesitate to use a person for their own purposes, including their subordinates. The incredible energy that men have can make them aggressive and quite restless people who will tend to loudly demonstrate their own dissatisfaction.
Regardless of what specific blows of fate await Ilya, this person can quickly recover both physically and mentally. Consider this fact before giving your child the name Ilya.
