Among the most famous cemeteries in the Russian capital are: Vagankovskoye, Novodevichye, and Troyekurovskoye cemeteries. The last known is the alley of the actors of the Troekurovsky cemetery. He is also considered a branch of Novodevichy. It is located in the West of Moscow near the former village of Troekurovo. As the number of deaths increases, places for their burial also need to be found. That is why such branches are created.

Troekurovskoye Cemetery Address

Troekurovskoe cemetery is one of the most prestigious in the capital, operating since 1962.
Initially, this place was intended for the burial of distinguished statesmen. Politicians, scientists, writers, and artists were buried there. The cemetery is famous for its alleys: the alley of actors and astronauts. The impressive size of the ritual hall and the funeral home-necropolis added to the prestige of the necropolis. A distinctive feature of the necropolis is its own morgue. Currently, the cemetery is a branch of Novodevichy, celebrities are also buried there, and family burial places are available for ordinary Muscovites. Natalya Gundareva, Semyon Farada, Boris Klyuev, Vladislav Galkin and many other famous personalities are buried here.

Monument to Vladislav Galkin

On the territory of the Troekurovsky cemetery there is the grave of Vladislav Galkin. The actor died at the age of 38 from acute heart failure. Just a year before his death, Vladislav Galkin was awarded the title of Honored Actor of Russia.

The grave of the famous actor is one of the most beautiful graves of the Troekurovsky necropolis. There are 2 monuments on the grave - one of them is in the form of a small boy sitting by a stone and leaning his back against it. This is Huckleberry Finn, Vladislav Galkin's first film role. Little Vlad was only 9 years old when he first appeared on television.

Next to the little boy is a full-length figure of an adult man. He is dressed in a formal suit and has a smile on his face. This is already an adult Vladislav Galkin in the prime of his life, shortly before his death.

The monument was made by order of the actor’s parents by sculptor Vladimir Usov. In 2021, the monument had to be removed in order to bury Vladislav Galkin’s mother, as she bequeathed to be buried next to her son.

What is there at the Troekurovsky cemetery?

Troekurovskoe cemetery got its name in honor of the neighboring village of Troekurovo; in the 17th century it was the estate of famous Russian boyars. The territory of the necropolis has been reduced and expanded several times, and currently covers an area of about 40 hectares. The Troekurovo necropolis is one of the most prestigious in Moscow. The infrastructure is thought out to the smallest detail. Several ritual halls, a morgue, a canteen, a funeral products store, a granite workshop, a parking lot for 250 spaces, two checkpoints, a Wi-Fi zone.

The necropolis is divided into 13 sections with sectors. A special map-scheme with color zoning has been developed: columbarium (red), burial plots (green), roads (black).

New burials are carried out in exceptional cases: if the deceased has merit to the fatherland. Burial in a related grave is possible, but for this it is necessary to provide a certificate of relationship.

Troekurovskoye Cemetery is not just a place of sorrow, but the history of the state. People who made a great contribution to the development of science and technology, the space industry, medicine, culture, and art are buried here. The list of celebrities can be found in the administration.

Buying a plot

Regarding the cost and availability of plots in the cemetery, you should contact the cemetery administration directly, since nowadays there are a large number of scammers who, taking advantage of the stressful situation, defraud you of money under the guise of selling a plot.

And on the day of the funeral you will find out that you did not buy any plot and have no right to it. In order to prevent such an unpleasant situation from occurring, make sure that all documents are completed correctly.

Already at this time, the list of celebrities is quite wide and tourists are beginning to visit this place more and more often. Many believe that the number of famous people who will be buried here will grow over time, and thus this necropolis will not be inferior in popularity to either the Vagankovsky or Novodevichy cemeteries. Since the history of deceased contemporaries is written on this burial area.

The Lord is always with you!

Yeltsin's grave and government officials at Novodevichy Cemetery

Novodevichy Cemetery is the most prestigious graveyard not only in Moscow, but throughout Russia. The politician and statesman of the USSR and Russia, Boris Yeltsin, is buried there. Yeltsin is the first president of Russia and is buried in the sixth section of the square's central alley. The politician's tombstone is represented by a wide fluttering Russian flag made of red porphyry, blue mosaic and white marble stone.

Yeltsin's grave

Also buried in this graveyard:

  • Alexandra Kollontai is a Russian revolutionary born into a noble family. The tombstone is designed in the form of a sculpture. She is the first woman in the world to become a minister, and later a representative of the Soviet Union in various countries of the world;
  • Sergei Khrushchev is a Soviet politician and first secretary of the CPSU Central Committee. His tombstone is a symbol of the fact that there is an unspoken rule according to which disgraced figures are not buried near the Kremlin wall. His fate is reflected in the tombstone ordered from Ernst Neizvestny by his son. He himself looks like a portrait of Sergei, around which there are lines and angles similar to a spacesuit;
  • Andrei Gromyko - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, as well as the last person planned to be buried in the Kremlin Necropolis. Gromyko himself, as well as his relatives, insisted that the burial take place at the Novodevichy graveyard.

Such statesmen as Alexander Lebed, Viktor Chernomyrdin, Yevgeny Primakov are also buried in this cemetery.

Columbarium of Troekurovsky Cemetery

Burial at the Troekurovskoye Cemetery is possible if a family burial is being carried out, or a plot for a family burial is purchased at an auction of the Moscow government. A more affordable way is to purchase space in a columbarium.

Part of the Troekurovsky cemetery, or rather section No. 9, is occupied by a columbarium, there are free places. The type of columbarium is open: these are walls with niches in which urns with ashes are placed, and then sealed with a slab with an inscription. The columbar burial service is paid: the cost depends on the location of the cell - row and level. The cost of burial in a columbarium is cheaper than in a coffin. Another advantage of a columbarium: there is no need to install a monument on the grave .

Walk through the Vagankovskoe cemetery

Vagankovskoye Cemetery is one of the most famous Moscow cemeteries, second in prestige after Novodevichy. The central entrance faces Sergei Makeev Street, which is not far from the Ulitsa 1905 Goda metro station. The area of this churchyard is 48 hectares, and it was formed already in 1771, when a plague epidemic occurred and, according to government orders, people were buried outside the city.

Historically, an official cemetery appeared on the site of the first burials in 1696, which was used to bury people who died from the plague epidemic. The first burials were mass graves, there was no funeral service, and relatives were afraid to visit the deceased for fear of getting infected. Only after this they decided to officially organize the cemetery and allocated 25 hectares for it. Later it expanded to 37 hectares.

Initially, a non-prestigious cemetery has become traditional for the burial of creative people and scientists: Vasily Surikov, Kliment Timiryazev, Alexei Savrasov, etc. Today, the graveyard contains more than 200 objects of Russian cultural heritage in the form of churches, bell towers and temples. The burial places of Vladimir Vysotsky, Sonya the Golden Hand, Sergei Yesenin, Vadim Bayan, Lev Yashin, Ivan Filippov, Nina Nelina and others have become famous.

Church of Troekurovsky Cemetery

The Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is located near the Trekurovsky necropolis. The church itself stands on cemetery territory. The temple was erected in 1706. Style - Peter's Baroque.

The construction of the temple was carried out at the expense of the Troyekurov boyars. The shape of the building is original: the dome does not rest on the vaults, but continues to the base of the temple, the central part is framed by a rotunda. Next to the main building there was a hipped bell tower; later it was replaced by a structure in the form of a three-tier tower.

Divine services are held in the church; funeral services, requiem services, unction and other Orthodox ceremonies can be ordered here. For unction and communion of the sick, church ministers go to homes.

Depending on the type of activity of the deceased celebrities, the complex is divided into thematic areas called alleys.

The graves are notable not only for the famous personalities buried in them, but also for their unique tombstones. Some of them are interesting architectural masterpieces that attract the attention of thousands of visitors. The cemetery diagram located above the entrance helps you find the tombstones. With the help of a map, identification plaques and signs, it is easy to find any grave.

Actor's Alley

The most popular site among tourists includes a vast territory where actors, singers, and musicians beloved by viewers are buried. A partial list of stars laid to rest here includes the following artists:

  • Sergey Suponev is a journalist and presenter of popular programs for children and youth. He died in 2001 in a snowmobile accident. The monument consists of two sculptures: a little boy portraying Huckleberry Finn in memory of Vlad’s very first role, and an adult actor who was not even 40 years old at the time of his death. Due to the death of the artist’s mother, who bequeathed to rest next to her beloved son, the sculptural composition was temporarily dismantled.
  • Nachalova Yulia is a young Russian singer who left this world in March 2021. Her sudden death shocked many fans and colleagues on stage. There is still a simple Orthodox cross on her grave, and the tombstone itself is buried in wreaths and flowers.
  • Polishchuk Lyubov is an actress of Soviet and Russian cinema, she has both dramatic and comedic roles to her credit. The most famous films with her participation are “The Twelve Chairs”, “Intergirl”, “Love with Privileges”, and the TV series “My Fair Nanny”. The artist died after a serious illness. On her grave there is a pedestal, on top of which is a crystal bust of the actress, resembling a solidified cloud.
  • Gundareva Natalya is a People's Artist of Russia, starred in cult Soviet films. Among them are “Sweet Woman”, “Winter Evening in Gagra”, “Autumn Marathon”. Her grave is crowned by a marble stele with a cross carved on the surface.
  • Natalya Krachkovskaya, known to Soviet and Russian film fans for her roles in comedy films. She passed away after a severe heart attack. On the actress’s grave there is a modest Orthodox cross with a crucifix.
  • Nikolay Karachentsev is a famous Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, who worked for many years at Lenkom and played many prominent roles in films. He died in October 2021, on the eve of his birthday. Now there is a cross on his grave. According to the artist’s widow, soon there will be a monument here symbolizing a scene from the play “Juno and Avos,” where Karachentsev’s hero offers a prayer while kneeling.
  • Dedushko Alexander, who died with his family in a car accident. At the grave there is a family monument, on it there is a photo of Alexander, his wife and son. There are flowers and toys on the tombstone, and there is a touching epitaph left by the relatives of the victims. Nearby is a large portrait depicting a happy family.

Other film and pop artists also rest on the Star Alley. Among them are musician and singer Alexander Barykin, trainer Walter Zapashny, whose sons continue his activities, film actress Marina Golub, who tragically died in a car accident.

Writers and playwrights

At the prestigious Troekurovsky cemetery there are sectors with the graves of people who left a bright mark in literature:

  • Uspensky Eduard Nikolaevich - screenwriter and children's writer. Author of popular fairy-tale characters embodied on the television screen. Due to the fact that he died recently, there is no monument at his grave yet.
  • Zakhoder Boris Vladimirovich is an author of children's fairy tales and a translator. Known for translating the story of Winnie the Pooh from English. He died in 2000; the burial place is crowned by a multi-stage pedestal with a monument in the form of an open book, on the pages of which is the writer’s signature and depicts the heroes of his fairy tales.

Quite recently, the Alley of Cosmonauts opened; the list of heroes buried here included K. P. Feoktistov, P. R. Popovich, G. M. Grechko. The extensive list of buried notables includes politicians, scientists and their relatives. Troyekurovskoye Cemetery is a tribute to the memory of people who dedicated their lives to the development of the state.

Other cemeteries with celebrity graves

In addition to these graveyards, there are many famous cemeteries in the world that serve as unique museums, since many celebrities are buried there. Among them:

  • La Recoleta, Argentina. Celebrities of this country are buried here. For example, Eva Peron;
  • Arlington Cemetery, Washington. Last resting place for US Presidents and Revolutionary War soldiers;
  • Jewish cemetery, Prague. It is not distinguished by famous people, but is quite old: burials have been carried out here since the 15th century;
  • Pierre-Lachaise, Paris. It has more traffic than other Parisian churchyards. Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison and other celebrities are buried here.

Thus, the burial places of celebrities are not just sacred places for people, but also often objects of tourist routes and lovers of walks through cemeteries. Not all the graves of famous people and stars look decent - some of them have become forgotten not only by the necropolitan society, but also by the relatives of the deceased.

Sadness and pride

Meanwhile, my interlocutor changed - he came to me with the words: “Drop it! Now no one is interested in bandits,” a man in camouflage approached. He introduced himself as a security guard at the Church of the Resurrection of the Word on Vagankovo. Viktor Sergeevich , former military man. Son in America. I'm here myself. I like the work. He is indifferent to criminal authorities, however, like most of the current visitors to the cemetery. It was under this monologue of his that we reached those places that are now truly revered.

For example, the grave and monument to the legendary football player and coach Konstantin Beskov were buried in flowers, and the bronze guys from the sculptural group were touchingly decorated with “roses” - football scarves.

“They are coming, a lot of them are now coming to the athletes,” Viktor Sergeevich straightened the “rose” that had slipped on the sculpture. – They go to Igor Netto , to Eduard Streltsov . Of course, the World Cup is still in our memory, and these are the legends and pride of our football. Although it’s not just about the championship. A similar story happened here a year ago. So we’re sitting, and suddenly there’s a ton of people, all non-Russians, a sea of flowers, and just like that, march-march for the columbarium. Well, I think we need to take a closer look, you never know. And they, as if they knew in advance, immediately went to Lev Yashin . They put flowers, kneel down and kiss the fence. It turned out they were Colombians. Marcos Col died in Colombia . The same one who scored the only goal from a corner at the World Cup. It happened in 1962. And he scored just against Lev Ivanovich Yashin. And now, it means, they have come to honor the memory of his opponent and colleague, the great Russian goalkeeper, on behalf of their legendary football player... Believe it or not, it brings me to tears!”

I willingly believed this. And, to be honest, I felt proud. Perhaps this is precisely why you should go to cemeteries. What about authorities and golden coffins? What about the living dead and other absurdities? Yes, nothing. And for sadness or pride to give you goosebumps is priceless. Moreover, according to security guard Viktor Sergeevich, very soon the famous “fainting people” will be fully and completely retired - official tour bureaus are going to be opened in cemeteries.
