We were at one of the previous Belarusian fairs in Sokolniki. The shopping arcades are crowded, there are a lot of goods - both food and consumer goods.

Will there be Orthodox exhibitions at VDNKh?

Previously, VDNKh in Moscow annually hosted dozens of exhibitions and fairs on Orthodox themes. Their holding has ceased completely as of 2021, but not due to the coronavirus pandemic. They refused to organize Christian fairs at VDNKh back in 2021.

The organizer of the exhibitions at VDNKh was Regiontekhstroy. The Russian Orthodox Church revoked permission to hold such events in connection with the activities of the performer, which contradicts the “Regulations on exhibition activities of the Russian Orthodox Church.” This was stated in 2019 by Abbot Paramon, an employee of the Donskoy Monastery.

The termination of cooperation with Regiontehstroy is due to the fact that the company, without permission from the leadership of the Russian Orthodox Church, held exhibitions and fairs on religious topics in the Sokolniki complex. Then the Russian Orthodox Church decided to reduce the number of such events so that they would be of higher quality. Regiontekhstroy violated the requirements of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Another reason for the lack of exhibitions at VDNKh is the incident that happened in 2021. Then, at one of the Orthodox-themed events, representatives of the sect of the so-called “God Kuzi” received an exhibition stand.
