Texts of prayers before the icon of the Mother of God Unfading Color and what they ask for

Oh, Most Merciful Lady! We now resort to Your intercession, do not despise our prayers, but mercifully Hear us: wives, children, mothers and those obsessed with the serious illness of drunkenness, and for this, for the sake of our mother - the Church of Christ and the salvation of those who fall away, brothers and sisters, and heal our relatives.

Oh, Merciful Mother of God, touch their hearts and quickly raise them from the falls of sin, bring them to saving abstinence.

Pray to Your Son, Christ our God, to forgive us our sins and not to turn His mercy away from His people, but to strengthen us in sobriety and chastity.

Accept, O Most Holy Theotokos, the prayers of mothers who shed tears for their children, of wives who weep for their husbands, of children, the orphaned and the poor, abandoned as lost, and of all of us who fall before Your icon. And may this cry of ours, through Your prayers, come to the Throne of the Most High.

Cover and protect us from the evil trap and all the snares of the enemy, in the terrible hour of our exodus, help us to pass through the airy ordeals without stumbling, with Your prayers deliver us from eternal condemnation, may God’s mercy cover us for the endless ages of ages. Amen.

TROPARION, TONE 4 Today we come, faithfully, to the Divine and wonderful image of the Most Holy Mother of God, who waters the faithful hearts with the heavenly Inexhaustible Cup of Her mercy and shows miracles to the faithful people. Even as we see and hear, we celebrate spiritually and cry out warmly: O Most Merciful Lady, heal our ailments and passions, beseeching Thy Son, Christ our God, to save our souls.

KONDAC, VOICE 6 The intercession of Christians is not shameful, the intercession to the Creator is immutable, do not despise the voices of sinful prayers, but advance, as the Good One, to the aid of us who faithfully call Ty; hasten to prayer, and strive to entreat, interceding ever since, the Mother of God, those who honor Thee.

IN KONDAC, VOICE 8 To the chosen Voivode, victorious, as having been delivered from the evil, let us write thanks to Thy servants, the Mother of God, but as having an invincible power, free us from all troubles, let us call Thee: Rejoice, Unmarried Bride.

GREATNESS We magnify You, Most Holy Virgin, God-chosen Youth, and honor Your holy image, through which you bring healing to all who come with faith.

Thanksgiving prayers for Holy Communion are a sequence of prayers read in the Church after receiving the Divine Body and Blood of Christ in the sacrament of the Eucharist.

Prayer is a conversation with God. But for such an important conversation it is not always easy to find the words, so Orthodox believers often have a prayer book with them, and we have collected prayers of thanksgiving for you. Having received help from the Lord, through our petitionary prayers, we turn to a prayer of thanksgiving. But even when it seems to us that nothing good has happened, the Lord takes care of us. It’s not for nothing that Scripture says “give thanks for everything,” so you can say such a prayer not only for a certain good deed, but also for every day you live. After all, God turns even bad events around for the benefit of the human soul. You can read the prayer of thanksgiving by Simeon Metaphrastus, St. Basil the Great, thanksgiving to the Blessed Virgin Mary and other prayers that are read for Holy Communion. Perhaps over time you will be able to learn them by heart. God always answers those who turn to Him, even if this answer is not always obvious. “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thess. 5:18)

Glory to You, God. Glory to You, God. Glory to You, God.

Prayer of thanksgiving, 1st

I thank you, Lord, my God, for you have not rejected me as a sinner, but have made me worthy to be a partaker of your holy things. I thank You, for You have vouchsafed me, who is unworthy, to partake of Your Most Pure and Heavenly Gifts. But the Lord, the Lover of Mankind, for our sake, died and rose again, and granted us this terrible and life-giving Sacrament for the benefit and sanctification of our souls and bodies, grant this to me for the healing of soul and body, for the driving away of all that is resistant, for the enlightenment of the eyes of my heart , into the peace of my spiritual strength, into unashamed faith, into unfeigned love, into the fulfillment of wisdom, into the observance of Thy commandments, into the application of Thy Divine grace and the appropriation of Thy Kingdom; Yes, we preserve them in Your shrine, I always remember Your grace, and I live not for myself, but for You, our Master and Benefactor; and thus having gone from this life to the hope of the eternal life, I will achieve everlasting peace, where those who celebrate the unceasing voice and endless sweetness, who behold the ineffable kindness of Your face. For You are the true desire and the inexpressible joy of those who love You, Christ our God, and all creation sings to You forever. Amen.

We can thank God for everything through prayer, fasting, and keeping His commandments.

When we ask for something and receive it, we always say “thank you.” This applies not only to people, we should also say thank you to God. How to thank God? We can thank God for everything through prayers, fasting, and keeping His commandments.

At the same time, we should thank God not only for the fact that we got a new job, bought a house or apartment, or received healing from an illness. You need to thank the Lord for the happy day you have lived.

Thanksgiving

Prayer of thanksgiving 2nd, St. Basil the Great

Master Christ God, King of the ages, and Creator of all, I thank Thee for all the good things He has given me, and for the communion of Thy most pure and life-giving Mysteries. I pray to Thee, O Kinder and Lover of Mankind: keep me under Thy roof, and in the shadow of Thy wing; and grant me with a clear conscience, even until my last breath, to worthily partake of Your holy things, for the remission of sins and eternal life. For You are the living bread, the source of holiness, the Giver of good things, and we send up glory to You, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Troparion, tone 5:

Rejoice, Bride of God, secret rod, / Blooming unfading color, / Rejoice, Lady, with Her we are filled with joy // and we inherit life.

Troparion, tone 5:

Blessed Virgin Mary, we worship Your Most Pure Image, We sing a song of praise to You, We bring needs, grief and tears to You, But You, O our meek Intercessor, The earthly sorrows are so close to You whether. Accept our sighs. Help us and save us from troubles. Tirelessly and with tenderness let us call to You: Rejoice, Mother of God, unfading Blossom.

Kontakion, tone 6:

The representation of Christians is unashamed, the intercession to the Creator is immutable, do not despise the voices of sinful prayers, but advance, as the Good One, to the aid of us who faithfully call upon Ty; hasten to prayer and strive to supplicate, ever presenting the Mother of God to those who honor Thee.

Prayer of thanksgiving 3rd, Symeon Metaphrastus

Having given me flesh by Your will, fire and scorch the unworthy, do not scorch me, my Creator; rather, go into my mouth, into all my parts, into my womb, into my heart. The thorns of all my sins fell. Cleanse your soul, sanctify your thoughts. Confirm the compositions with the bones together. Enlighten the simple five of feelings. Fill me with Thy fear. Cover me always, keep me, and save me from every deed and word of the soul. Cleanse and wash and adorn me; Fertilize, enlighten, and enlighten me. Show me Your village of the one Spirit, and not to anyone the village of sin. Yes, like Your house, the entrance of communion, like fire, every evildoer, every passion flees from me. I offer prayer books to You, all the saints, the orders of the disembodied, Your Forerunner, the wise Apostles, and to this Your undefiled, pure Mother, graciously accept their prayers, my Christ, and make Your servant a son of light. For You are the sanctification and the only one of ours, the Good One, of souls and lordship; and like unto You, like God and the Master, we send all glory every day.

When and how to correctly read a prayer in front of an icon

“Fading Color” literally radiates tenderness around itself. One look at this image is enough to feel comfort and strength. The day of celebration of the icon is April 3 (16 according to the new style), as well as December 31 (January 13). These days, prayers in front of the image are especially useful. But there are no clear rules on this matter.

The image is especially loved by women, and they often pray in front of it, making requests for:

  • married;
  • beauty and youth;
  • women's happiness;
  • daughter's imminent marriage;
  • women's health;
  • blessing on the wedding day;
  • deliverance from temptation and temptations.

These requests are traditional. Men can also pray before the face of the Queen of Heaven. This can be done both in the temple and at home at any time. You should try to place the home iconostasis against the eastern wall, since those praying should face the east. There should be nothing unnecessary in the immediate vicinity of it.

Prayers are read by heart (aloud or silently) or according to the prayer book. This must be done thoughtfully, fully concentrating on each word. At the same time, there should be no anger, no vanity, no pride in the heart. You cannot rush, be distracted, or even interrupt the prayer.

You can pray alone or with loved ones. There is no need to fix your gaze on the image. You can lower your eyes and even close them. You need to start praying with the sign of the cross, followed by three large and small bows. Then the “Our Father” is read three times. When praying in front of the icon, you can kneel. Having finished the prayer, you should cross yourself again.

Thanksgiving prayer 5th, to the Most Holy Theotokos

Most Holy Lady Theotokos, light of my darkened soul, hope, protection, refuge, consolation, joy, I thank Thee, for Thou hast vouchsafed me, unworthy, to be a partaker of the Most Pure Body and Honest Blood of Thy Son. But She who gave birth to the true Light, enlighten my intelligent eyes of the heart; You who gave birth to the Source of immortality, revive me, killed by sin; Even the merciful Mother of God, have mercy on me, and give me tenderness and contrition in my heart, and humility in my thoughts, and appeal in the captivity of my thoughts; and grant me, until my last breath, to receive consecration of the most pure Mysteries without condemnation, for the healing of soul and body. And give me tears of repentance and confession, to sing and praise Thee all the days of my life, for Thou art blessed and glorified forever. Amen. Now do You let Your servant go, O Master, according to Your word, in peace: for my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared before the face of all people, a light for the revelation of tongues and the glory of Your people Israel. Trisagion. Holy Trinity... Our Father...

Nowadays there are prayers of thanksgiving to God available where praise is given to the Lord

Many people ask, what are these secret prayers with which you need to thank God? In fact, there are no secret prayers; there are prayers of thanksgiving to God that are accessible to everyone, where praise is given to the Lord.

You can also order a prayer service to the Lord Jesus Christ in the temple. This will also be considered thanksgiving for everything.

You can also thank God by ordering a prayer service in the temple. Only the person who ordered it must be present. Photo: school.orthpatr.ru

Remember that words of gratitude must be as sincere as prayer. If your prayer of gratitude to God for everything is sincere and spoken from a pure heart, then you will receive what you ask for more than once.

The Lord will always help you. Don't forget that you can always turn to God in your simple words. But the main thing is how you say it.

Kontakion, tone 6

Glory: You have received Divine grace from heaven, and through your lips you have taught us all to worship the one God in the Trinity. All-blessed John Chrysostom, Reverend, we worthily praise you: you are a mentor, as if you are manifesting the Divine. And now: The intercession of Christians is not shameful, the intercession to the Creator is immutable, do not despise the voices of sinful prayers, but advance, as the Good One, to the aid of us who faithfully call Thee: hasten to prayer, and strive to supplicate, ever interceding, the Mother of God, who honor Thee. If the Liturgy of St. Basil the Great was celebrated, read the troparion to Basil the Great, tone 1: Thy message went forth into all the earth, as thou didst most divinely teach it to those who received thy word, thou didst understand the nature of beings, thou hast adorned human customs, the royal priesthood, reverend father, pray to Christ God to save our souls.

The meaning of the icon in Orthodoxy

In contrast to the most ancient images (such as Hodegetria, Oranta, Eleusa), the composition of the “Unfading Color” icon is surprisingly diverse. Flowers (this is a mandatory element) can be in vases, woven into garlands, entwined on a pedestal, or it can be just one stem of lilies or a branch of roses.

The Most Pure Virgin can be depicted sitting on a throne with or without a crown on her head. Sometimes in her hand you can see a wand covered with flowers. This is the same rod from the tree of Jesse. Flowers are filled with deep meaning. Lily is a symbol of purity. This flower was presented to the Mother of God by the Archangel Gabriel when he brought her the good news of the imminent birth of the Son of God.

The rose is another symbol of the Mother of God, personifying her love. In ancient Byzantine akathists, the Mother of God is often called an ever-blooming fragrant flower.

Compositionally, “Unfading Color” is very similar to another icon, “Fragrant Color.” But there are differences between them. In the Fragrant Flower image, the Most Holy Theotokos holds her Son on her left hand, and not on her right. True, this is not always observed.

The blue color on these icons symbolizes heavenly purity, red - love, white - righteous souls. It is not known by whom and when the prototype was written. Scientists agree that this happened around the 17th century, on Holy Mount Athos or in Constantinople. The image was brought to Rus' by pilgrims, and was immediately distributed in many lists.

Kontakion, tone 4

Glory: You have appeared as an unshakable foundation for the church, giving to all inconspicuous dominion by man, sealing with your commands, the unappearing Reverend Basil. And now: Intercession of Christians... If the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts was being celebrated, read the troparion to St. Gregory the Double-Speaking Basil the Great, tone 4: Whom from God above have we received divine grace, glorious Gregory, and Him we strengthen with power, you deigned to march in the Gospel, from whom Christ has retribution You have accepted your labors, all-blessedly: pray to Him that He may save our souls.

The history of prayer

To understand why clergy recommend offering prayer during Holy Communion in front of the “Healer” icon, we should remember the history of its composition. A long time ago, one of the Moscow priests fell ill. His illness was so serious that the man could hardly move. He was tormented by terrible pain, from which no known medicine could help. To cope with the pain and continue to fulfill his duties as a spiritual mentor, the man decided to ask heaven for help. He offered a prayer to the Mother of God. While reading the prayer, an angel appeared next to him. And he also bowed his head in prayer. After this, the Virgin Mary herself appeared. She healed the unfortunate man. This is what served as the impetus for painting this icon.

Since then, almost all churches have had the “Healer” icon. There are always lit candles next to her, as hundreds of parishioners visit the church to light a candle and pray for the health of their loved ones and relatives. They remember the miracle that the Mother of God performed. Moreover, it is believed that this icon itself is an object capable of working miracles. Therefore, some parishioners ask permission to touch it in order to feel its power.
