44:1 To the head of the choir. On the [musical instrument] Shoshan. Teaching. Sons of Korah. Song of love.
Again the teaching of God through the sons of Korah. About the love of Christ for his future queen (bride) A spiritual and prophetic song.
44:2 A good word poured out from my heart; I say: my song is about the King; my tongue is a cursive cane.
A loving heart prompts to sing a song of love for the king, it is composed of good words, of words expressing the feelings of the lover, they pour out so abundantly from the depths of the heart that the tongue has to manage to pronounce them as quickly as a cursive writer writes the speech of kings.
44:3 You are more beautiful than the sons of men; grace poured out from Your mouth; Therefore God has blessed You forever.
The singer reports that Christ will be the most wonderful of all the sons of men, God will bless him forever, for the word of grace (hope for a happy eternal world, for a “favorable summer”) for humanity will come precisely from the lips of Christ.
44:4,5 Gird Thy sword upon Thy thigh, O Mighty One, with Thy glory and Thy beauty, 5 and in this Thy adorning make haste, sit on the chariot for the sake of truth and meekness and righteousness, and Thy right hand will show Thee wondrous deeds.
The singer knows that Christ will sit on the heavenly chariot in order to establish the word of God's truth on earth, meekness and obedience to God, girding his loins with the sword of the spirit and doing wondrous things on earth from the moment of his first coming to Earth, spiritually reviving it through the Christian congregation .
44:6,7 Your arrows are sharp; - the nations will fall before You - they are in the heart of the King's enemies. 7 Your throne, O God, endures forever; the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.
All the enemies of God on earth will fall before the majesty of Christ in royal glory when he releases the “arrows” at Armageddon;
and his throne will stand forever because the truth of God is the only rod for his reign (those who try to rule by other means will not stand). Here Christ is called God, and, in fact, there is nothing surprising in this: for humanity, this powerful ruler will become God in the sense of a patron for a whole 1000 years, after which he himself will submit to God the Almighty - 1 Cor. 15:28. Along the way: why Jehovah's Witnesses should not be afraid to pronounce the word “god” in relation to Christ - you can find out here 44 : 8 You loved righteousness and hated iniquity, therefore, O God, Your God has anointed You with the oil of joy more than Your fellows.
(see also Heb. 1:9) The singer explains that God the Almighty Jehovah is the God of Christ.
It was precisely because He anointed Christ with the oil of joy more than all those who participated in the fulfillment of Jehovah’s intentions, that Christ loved His righteousness and hated iniquity. What does "oil of joy" mean? Here we are not talking about the anointing of Jesus Christ with the holy spirit, but about the blessing with a special joy that exceeds the joy of the rest of Christ’s partners in relation to the throne of David: God preferred him to all the previous kings (partners) of the throne of David reigning over the people of God; it is Jesus Christ who will be the descendant of David who is to sit on the throne as king of God’s people—forever.
44 : 9 All Thy garments are like myrrh, and scarlet, and cassia; from the palaces of ivory they rejoice Thee.
All the robes of the heavenly bridegroom, the king over the Earth, will be of the highest quality and anointed with the best aromas, as befits a king.
44:10 those honored by You
; Following the example of Solomon's Song of Love, it is shown here that King Christ is figuratively surrounded by many worthy “girls.” In heaven they can be represented by a society of holy celestials, angels. However, Jesus has already chosen his bride, so let others not (figuratively) get their hopes up about this eligible bachelor. His bride was not the daughter of heaven, but the “daughter” of the earth, as it turns out from Scripture: the redeemed from the Earth will become co-rulers of Christ (Rev. 14: 1,3)
the queen stood at Your right hand in Ophir gold.
The wife of the King of the entire universe, Jehovah, is figuratively described (the bride of Christ will be brought to him later, see 15).
The “Wife” of Jehovah (Jerusalem on High) is represented in heaven by all the spiritual assistants of the Almighty, His heavenly organization (Rev. 4, Gal. 4:26). They are dressed in the most expensive clothes, as befits the Queen - the “mother” of the Groom. The “Queen” at the right hand of Christ, she will introduce the Groom to the Bride. 44 : 11,12 Hear, daughter, and see, and incline your ear, and forget your people and your father's house.
Here they turn to the bride of Christ and ask her to forget where she came from: a wife is supposed to live in her husband’s house, so the bride of Christ, redeemed from Earth, after marriage is supposed to live in heaven (Rev. 14: 1,3)
12 And she will desire King of your beauty;
for He is your Lord, and you shall worship Him. King Jesus Christ will desire to be with his beautiful assistant and will be proud of her beauty.
Here the couple entering into marriage is figuratively shown, the bride of Christ is the future heavenly co-rulers of Christ, Rev. 20:6) 44:13 gifts , and the richest of the people will plead before Your face.
Tire in ancient times was a prosperous city, committing fornication through trade with pagan kings (Isa. 23:17,18);
Jesus mentioned him in connection with his part in the millennium of Christ (Matt. 11:22 ).
The fate of the resurrected inhabitants of this city will be in the hands of the co-rulers of Christ, which is why it is said about them that they will plead “the face of the queen of Christ
” 44 : 14 All the glory of the daughter of the King is within;
her clothes are embroidered with gold; Although the bride’s clothes are embroidered with gold, however, the main beauty of Christ’s wife is not external, but internal: King Christ cannot be content with external beauties, for he is interested in the spirit of his queen, his assistant, not the Jew who is such in the flesh, but the one who is in spirit - God's, inwardly, and not outwardly, the queen is beautiful for Christ.
44:15,16 in speckled clothes she is led to the King;
One day there will come a moment in the history of mankind when King Christ will wait for his queen in his royal palaces in heaven, enter into a “marriage union” with her, and as a result, a new life will begin for all inhabitants of the Earth.
(see the parable of the wedding feast) after her the virgins, her friends, are led to You, 16 they are brought with joy and rejoicing, they enter the palace of the King.
When will the bridesmaids be brought to the palace of King Jesus Christ? To become bridesmaids, all the virgins resurrected on earth after Armageddon will need to work on themselves for a whole thousand years and grow into the spiritual age of Christ and his “Queen.” Only after the last test by the devil, when all the inhabitants who remain alive for eternity have achieved holiness and become a spiritual courtyard, will the true friends of the heavenly Queen - the daughters of Jehovah - be able to enter the palace of King Jesus, or the courtyard of the temple of Jehovah. (the word “chamber” l/ky[h is also translated “inner room in the temple”)
44:17 Instead of Your fathers, Your sons will be; You will make them princes throughout the whole earth.
A prophetic verse that at first King Christ was represented on earth by his forefathers - the patriarchs, David and Solomon. But after marrying his “queen” in heaven (Rev. 19:7,8), the sons born from this marriage of Christ and his heavenly queen will be appointed princes on Earth from Christ. Who are they?
This means that in the Millennium, those who will be born from the activities of this heavenly government union of King Christ and his assistants, ruling over the earth in the Millennium, will be appointed princes throughout the entire earth. That is, some inhabitants of the earth during the 1000th anniversary period will be honored to become princes according to the vision of Christ. And it is not at all necessary that these are certainly the current spiritual leaders, who may be planning to reign in the new world, for the first with God are the last. And vice versa. As a result of skilful heavenly rule over the earth during the thousand-year reign, all nations will glorify the spiritual (heavenly) Jerusalem, the city of King Christ, with a righteous lifestyle. 44:18 memorable to generation and generation; Therefore the nations will praise You forever and ever.
The name of Christ will be remembered throughout all eternity for all peoples of the earth.
History of writing
Psalm 44 is associated with a specific important event; we are talking about the marriage of a powerful ruler and his beloved. Many experts believe that we are talking about King Solomon. At the beginning of his reign, he lived in a luxurious palace, then he was known for his wisdom, for which he aroused the deepest respect among those around him.
Despite the fact that Solomon had a powerful and large army, he did not want to fight, he strove for peace. The king was a righteous man who believed in the Lord, so during his marriage to an Egyptian woman, he asks her to renounce her parents, her nation, and leave paganism in the past.
In the end, about those who are changed by the son of Kore, to the mind, a song about the beloved
1 My heart will vomit out good words; I will speak my deeds to the King: my tongue is the reed of a scribe. 2 You are more beautiful in kindness than the sons of men; grace has been poured out on Your lips; for this reason God bless You forever. 3 Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One. 4 By Thy beauty and Thy goodness, come and prosper and reign for the sake of truth and meekness and righteousness, and Thy right hand will guide You wonderfully. 5 Thy arrows are sharp, more powerful, the people under Thee will fall into the hearts of the enemies of the kings. 6 Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness, a scepter of your kingdom. 7 Thou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore, for the sake of anointing Thee, O God, Thy God is the oil of gladness, even more He is a partaker of Thy. 8 Myrrh and stakti and cassia are from Your garments, from the weights of elephants, from which You made You glad. 9 Daughters of kings, in Your honor, the Queen appears at Your right hand, adorned with gilded garments. 10 Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline Your ear, and forget Your people and Your father’s house. 11 And the King will desire Thy kindness: because of Thy Lord is Thy Lord, and thou shalt worship Him. 12 And the daughters of Tire with gifts, the riches of the people will pray to Your face. 13 All glory is to the Daughter of the King within, robed with gold and speckled. 14 The virgins will be brought to the King after her, her sincere ones will be brought to You. 15 They will be brought in with joy and joy, they will be brought into the temple of the Kings. 16 Instead of Your fathers, Your sons became: I made you princes throughout all the earth. 17 I will remember Your name in every generation and generation. For this reason people will confess to You forever and ever.
On what occasions is Psalm 44 read?
Reading Psalm 44 allows women and men to understand what qualities their future chosen one should have, what a Christian family should be like and how to raise children in it. The emphasis of the song is on praising the wisdom of man.
This wisdom reveals to the newlyweds the main truth - various qualities are important for a harmonious life together, but the most important thing is spiritual purity. At the end of the work, we again talk about the understanding of the word “family” in Christianity. Traditionally, Psalm 44 is read in Church Slavonic, but the Russian translation is not prohibited.
Interpretation
Presumably the song was composed by the sons of Korah. In it they reflect on the topic of marriage. The meaning of the work is fully revealed to those who study the meaning of its individual verses:
- Verse 1. The author says that his attitude towards the king is extremely favorable. Positive emotions overwhelm him.
- Verse 2 to 5. The psalmist praises the king, describes his appearance, beauty, and the power of his army. At the same time, he focuses on the fact that the most valuable thing in a ruler is hidden in the depths of his heart. We are talking about his wisdom and love of truth. The author calls on the king to use his strength and power, the power given to him in the name of truth, meekness and more. He has no doubt about Solomon's victory over his enemies. This is guaranteed not only by his large army, but also by the fact that the ruler has chosen the right path.
- Verse 6. A wise and wonderful king is the representative of the Lord and His kingdom on earth. Considering this, his deeds are perceived as the deeds of God, and Solomon’s reign will be eternal.
- Verse 7 to 9. The ruler strives for the truth, for life with the One Lord in his heart, he is fair, and therefore was awarded God's blessing. This part of the work is also about his bride, her luxurious outfit embroidered with gold. There is also a description of the daughters of the heads of other states who arrived at Solomon’s palace as guests.
- Verses 10 to 13 The psalmist switches from the king to his beautiful bride. He advises her to forget her father and mother, to forget about her home and people. The girl’s place is now in Israel, next to her chosen one. For her obedience, she will be rewarded with the endless love of her husband, the benefits bestowed by him. For this, respect and honor await her in the homes of the richest and most respected families in Israel and other states. The author repeatedly describes the attractive appearance of the bride, her luxurious attire, which cannot be compared with her soul, the beauty of which is many times greater than the beauty of her body. His chosen one entered Solomon’s palace with her friends who follow her everywhere. The ruler's beloved is obliged to give the love that was previously intended for her parents, her sons, and the long-awaited princes.
- Verse 16 and 17. The author emphasizes that the marriage of Solomon and the Egyptian beauty is blessed, and the name of the ruler will be glorified even after his death, since subsequent generations will not forget his good deeds.
