The parish of the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Orekhovo-Borisovo South arose and received legal registration in 2007.
In 2009, community members took an active part in citywide hearings to approve a new urban development plan for the area. The issue of the site where the future temple was to be located was resolved positively. Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity
At the beginning of the 20th century, the idea arose of creating a temple-monument dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the victory over Napoleon. Emperor Nicholas II himself proposed building a church in memory of the victorious battles in Borisov and near the village of Studenka, on the Berezina River. Architect Fomin began designing the temple. It was supposed to be a rotunda - a low, round building, topped with a dome, with columns.
However, turbulent and tragic events (three revolutions, the First World War, the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, persecution of the Church) did not allow this project to come to fruition. But the construction of the temple-monument to the soldiers who died in that distant war, although almost a hundred years late, began. This was already a completely different time, different from the previous one. Cooperation between the state and the Belarusian Orthodox Church began to be actively implemented. Great interest in the creation of the temple was then shown by the former chairman of the Borisov City Executive Committee, Viktor Lyudvigovich Kapultsevich, whose son Archpriest Andrei Kapultsevich is now the rector of the parish of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in the village of Zembin, Borisov district. The mayor of the city also provided specific assistance in the construction of the temple-monument, including financial assistance, and helped raise the necessary funds through sponsors. A native of Borisov, he wanted the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity to be not only a spiritual center, but also to reflect the glorious history of the city. The author of the new project was Borisov architect Dontsov. The location chosen for the temple was very convenient, clearly visible from all sides, since it is located on a hill. Opposite is the local history museum, where every visitor has the opportunity to get acquainted with exhibits reflecting the events of the Patriotic War of 1812.
Archpriest Mikhail Barashko, who at the same time headed the parish of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Bolshaya Ukholoda, Borisov district, was appointed rector of the parish. He immediately began actively implementing this project, and construction began. In 1997, Metropolitan Philaret of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, consecrated the foundation stone. Gradually, with God's help, with the help of construction organizations and parishioners, the ground floor of the temple was erected and covered. But they soon ran into difficulties. When the chairman of the Borisov City Executive Committee V.L. Kapultsevich moved to another job, construction funding and other necessary assistance were significantly reduced. Under these conditions, Father Mikhail, without abandoning his plans to build the Trinity Church, together with local benefactors, decided to build a small church-chapel, begin to pray, lead parish life, and then gradually complete the construction of the main church. The temple-chapel was named in honor of the Holy Epiphany. In 2010, due to deteriorating health, Archpriest Mikhail Barashko submitted a petition to Bishop Philaret to transfer him as rector to another parish, which was granted.
His work was continued by Archpriest Georgy Tyukhlov, who was appointed rector of the parish of the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in 2010. “When I came here,” says Father George, “even though there was no roof here, we started with prayer. The first was a prayer service with an akathist to the Holy Life-Giving Trinity. In warm and dry weather we prayed on the foundation of this temple-chapel, and during the rains we hid in the basement. It was uncomfortable there, there was water, but we stacked shelves, made a small hill, set up a lectern, lit a candle, because there was no electricity yet, and prayed in this darkness, dampness and cold. The roof was covered at the beginning of 2012. It was almost winter already. And in April 2012, on the day of Holy Easter, the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated. At that time, there were still a lot of deficiencies in the chapel, there were scaffoldings, ceilings were being made, the walls, although plastered, were not painted, you could feel the cold, since there was no heating. But this was already the beginning, and everyone had joy in their souls. So in the future they combined worship and construction.” Since then, the construction of the Epiphany Church-Chapel has been largely completed.
Landscaping is currently underway. But life is in full swing around the still “frozen” construction of the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity. On the roof of the church’s basement, on the patronal feast day, divine services are held, concerts are held, where amateur artists, parishioners, the folk chamber choir “Transfiguration”, and the folk choir “Svetoch” perform spiritual chants. A big event in the life of the parish was the transfer of a memorial plaque in memory of Ivan Khrisanfovich Kolodeev. He was not only a famous bibliophile, a philanthropist, a man who made a huge contribution to the cultural and economic development of the city of Borisov. It was Kolodeev who made great efforts to have a temple erected in the city in honor of the soldiers who died during the Patriotic War of 1812. For now, the memorial plaque is located in the Epiphany Church-Chapel, and after completion of construction it will be installed in the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity. The memory of the soldiers who laid down their lives for the Fatherland is incorruptible. Some time will pass, and a majestic temple-monument will appear in the city of Borisov, where they will honor and remember the heroes not only of the War of 1812, but also all those who performed an immortal feat in the name of the Fatherland, who defended our Orthodox faith in fierce battles .

At the meeting of the Holy Synod on May 14, 2021, its participants had a judgment on the celebration of the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia. In this regard, in this publication we recall the events of 30 years ago, when a competition was announced for the design of a temple in honor of the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus'.
In 1988, in the year of the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus', it was decided to build a complex of the Patriarchal Compound in Orekhovo-Borisovo, not far from Borisov Ponds. A competition was announced for the design of a temple in memory of the anniversary being celebrated. It was planned to build a cathedral with a capacity of more than 20,000 people, surrounded by various administrative buildings.
About 420 projects were presented to the jury, which included representatives of the Patriarchate, the Ministry of Culture, and the Union of Architects.

— The temple should not only be a place for believers to gather for prayer, but also be, in its expression, a monument to the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus'.
— The temple must carry and develop the traditions of Russian church architecture and be equipped with the latest engineering communications.

But construction at that time never began due to the fact that all finances were thrown at parish churches, which were more in need of real support than the construction of one cathedral.

Subsequently, the temple dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus' was built in the Orekhovo-Borisovo area according to a completely different project.
The project was carried out by the architectural studio AM-19 of Mosproekt-2 under the leadership of V. Kolosnitsyn, the main architect of the project was E. V. Ingema.
The temple, designed in the neo-Byzantine style, is a single-domed cruciform building with four chapels; height with cross – 70 m; capacity – up to 4000 people. In the basement there is a baptistery for adult baptism through total immersion. The porcelain iconostasis is made in the traditions of the Kuznetsov workshops of the 19th century.
The complex of the Patriarchal Metochion on Borisov Ponds also includes a clergy house, a Sunday school, a belfry and a chapel in the name of St. blgv. book Alexander Nevsky.
The construction was carried out by the Baltic Construction Company (BSK).

The temple seems multi-domed, since the shape of the dome is repeated by the semi-domes of the exedra, almost equal in diameter to the main dome. The bell tower facing the west is completed with the same, only smaller, domes and half-domes. The walls are painted a warm pinkish color, somewhat reminiscent of the color of the walls of the first ancient Russian churches in Kyiv and Novgorod.
