WHAT DOES PRAYER IN FRONT OF THE ICON OF THE MOTHER OF GOD OF OZERYANSKAYA HELP WITH?

Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God - the main shrine and patroness of the city of Kharkov

The Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God is a miraculous icon of the Mother of God revered in the Orthodox Church. She is recognized as the main shrine and patroness of the city of Kharkov, as well as the entire Slobozhanshchina (a historical region in the northeast of modern Ukraine and the southwest of the Central Black Earth economic region of Russia).

The Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God was kept at the Transfiguration Kuryazhsky Monastery.

The miraculous feather image of the icon disappeared during the persecution of the Church in the 1930s.

It is officially recognized that the miraculous feather image of the icon was lost in the 1930s. Nowadays, an image of the damaged original icon can be seen in the first volume of the book by D. I. Bagaley, D. P. Miller, which tells about the history of the city of Kharkov over 250 years of its existence.

This image of the Mother of God received its name from the place where it was found. Now the village of Nizhnyaya Ozeryan is located there.

The history of the discovery of the miraculous image of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God

The history of the discovery of the miraculous image of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God, beginning during the Mongol-Tatar raids on the lands of Ancient Rus'. It was then that Priest Theodore decided to build a farmstead with an apiary in an uninhabited area near Kharkov.

The land was located 30 kilometers from Kharkov and 3 kilometers from the city of Merefa. There were many ravines on it, forests and meadows grew along which the Ozeryanka River flowed. Currently, the village of Nizhnyaya Ozeryan is located here.

Legend says that at the end of the 16th century, near the village of Ozeryany, a Little Russian peasant was mowing grass on the river bank. Swinging his scythe once again, he heard a dull human groan. The mower bent down to the ground and saw on it in the grass an image cut into two parts. The peasant was frightened and saddened by what happened.

The miraculous image of the Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God was found at the end of the 16th century.

Ozeryansky temple and source. At the site where the miraculous icon of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God was found, a church was built (it is on the left), next to the place where the image was found, a spring gushed out (it is on the right)

Repenting of what he had done, he took the icon with the Face of the Mother of God and the Baby Jesus to his home. The peasant placed the find in the Red Corner and lit a candle in front of it. In the morning he saw that the icon had disappeared from the house.

The Little Russian went back to the meadow to mow the grass, where he found it again. At the same time, the two parts of the images were again combined into one canvas with a small seal, similar to a scar, at the site of the cut. There was a lit candle near the face of the Mother of God, and a new spring with cold spring water appeared nearby.

Archimandrite Sebastian (Yukhnovsky) was the first to be cured of the miraculous face.

Having learned about the case of the miraculous acquisition of the image, Priest Fedor hastened to inform about this to a higher clergy - Bishop Theodosius of Oboyan and Belgorod. The Lord gave his blessing to build a temple here. So, at the place where he was found on the left bank of the Ozeryanka, the first small wooden church appeared. It was dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A newfound icon was placed in the temple, which received the name Ozeryanskaya after the river flowing at the place where it was found.

The Ozeryansky temple was consecrated in 1711. The Ozeryansky image of the Mother of God is a source of consolation and healing for many parishioners. Word of this quickly spread throughout the area. The first to receive healing from him was the abbot of the Svyatogorsk Assumption Monastery, Sevastian (Yukhnovsky).

Archimandrite Sebastian was famous for his righteousness and piety. He was very ill at that time, but came on foot from his monastery to venerate the miraculous icon of the Mother of God and was cured.

In reverence for the miraculous icon, Priest Theodore founded the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God Hermitage

Feeling awe at the miraculous image, Priest Theodore decided to build a monastery on his secluded farm. After his healing, Archimandrite Sebastian supported the desire of Priest Theodore and wished to help found the monastery.

Svyatogorsk archives say that in 1696 Theodore transferred all his Ozeryansky real estate to the Svyatogorsk monastery and its abbot Archimandrite Vassian Vasilevsky for the founding of the monastery.

The founded monastery received the name of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God Hermitage. This happened in 1711. Theodore himself settled in the monastery. Over time, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary was expanded and decorated. Later, another church was erected in honor of the Nativity of John the Baptist and a bell tower with a clock.

The economy of the monastery itself was considered small by the standards of that time. In 1773, the brothers owned five orchards, 7 acres of arable land, 6 acres of hayfields, and 3 acres of forest. As of 1787, the composition of the brethren is as follows: abbot Ezekiel of Turan, four hieromonks, one hierodeacon, one monk and novices.

Svyatogorsk Desert

The pious priest Theodore saw many miracles from the image of the Mother of God and wanted a monastery to be founded in his deserted farm. At that time, the famous abbot of the Svyatogorsk Assumption Monastery, Sevastian Yukhnovsky, visited Ozeryanka, who, according to legend, was then very ill. He came on foot from his monastery to Ozeryanka to venerate the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, and was cured. Having learned about the desire of Fr. Theodore to establish a monastery here, Fr. Sebastian undertook to help the local priest. According to the Svyatogorsk acts of 1696, it is clear that the pious priest Theodore, in the person of the abbot of the Svyatogorsk monastery, Father Sebastian, transferred all his real estate in Ozeryanka to the Svyatogorsk monastery and its abbot, Archimandrite Vassian Vasilevsky, for the founding of a monastery in Ozeryanka, which he did not hesitate to establish there through zealous labors Svyatogorsk governor, father Sebastian, and became known under the name of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God Hermitage.

The first miracle from the icon appeared to Archimandrite Sevastyan with a witness, the builder, Hieromonk Varsanuphiy Khvastichenko.

The foundation of the Monastery dates back to 1710. Already in 1711, the Church of the Mother of God was built, which marked the beginning of the foundation of the desert. The place was really deserted then. It was surrounded by high hills, deep hollows and dense forests. A wooden church was erected on a hill, on the left bank of the Ozeryanka River. Over time, another church was erected in honor of the Nativity of John the Baptist and a bell tower with a clock.

The desert was small. In 1773, the brothers owned 5 orchards, 7 acres of arable land, 6 acres of hayfields, 3 acres of forest. The number of brethren was also small. In 1787, the composition was as follows: Hegumen Ezekiel of Turan, 4 hieromonks, 1 hierodeacon, 1 monk and novices. But this desert did not last long, about 80 years.

In 1787, during the stay of Empress Catherine II in Kharkov, she signed a decree transferring the Kharkov governorship under the leadership of Grigory Potemkin. By the will of the “His Serene Prince Tauride,” 15 monasteries of Slobozhanshchina ceased to exist, among them the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God Hermitage, the Zmievsky Nikolaevsky Cossack Monastery, and the Svyatogorsk Monastery were closed. Their property was confiscated to the treasury, and the brethren of all the monasteries were gathered in the Kuryazhsky Monastery.”

Due to its small number, by order of the Empress Catherine II and the decision of the Holy Synod, the hermitage was abolished in 1787. The main church of the monastery, consecrated in the name of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was dismantled and moved to the Merefu settlement. The icon was transferred to the Kuryazhsky Monastery, but it was closed in 1788 (even the family connections of Archimandrite Narkis from the Kvitok family did not help), and the icon was transferred to the Kharkov Intercession Monastery.

But soon, at the request of Catherine II of the Ukrainian Governor-General A. Ya. Levandinov and at the expense of the Privy Councilor P. F. Saburov, the Kuryazhsky Monastery was restored in 1796, and the following year the Ozeryansk Icon was again moved here, where it remained for 47 years : “Finally, in 1796, through the efforts of the former Governor-General of Kharkov and Voronezh, Lieutenant General Levanidov, it was allowed to establish a monastery in it as a communal monastery. Through the zeal of the Kharkov citizens, this monastery was soon brought into a fair position; then Emperor Paul I granted this monastery, along with others, mills, fisheries and the required number of acres of land. In 1836, it was elevated to second-class status by the state.” One of the reasons for the improvement in the financial condition of the monastery was that a large flow of pilgrims came to the Ozeryanskaya icon, which was located here, all summer. This image was previously in a specially constructed desert, about 30 versts from Kharkov, subordinate together with the brethren to the Kharkov school monastery (now the Holy Intercession Monastery), and after the destruction of this desert it was transferred to Kharkov, and since the restoration of this monastery in 1796, remains in it to this day.

The Ozeryanskaya Mother of God hermitage existed until 1787

The Ozeryanskaya Mother of God Hermitage existed for almost 80 years. In 1787, Empress Catherine II, by decision of the Holy Synod, abolished the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God hermitage due to its small number. At the same time, another 15 Slobozhansky monasteries were closed.

All the places where the Ozeryan Icon resided prospered financially.

The main temple of the monastery was dismantled and moved to the settlement of Merefa. The property of all closed monasteries was taken into the state treasury. Their brethren were gathered into the Kuryazhsky monastery. The image of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God was moved there, but in 1788 the monastery was also closed, and the icon ended up in the Kharkov Intercession Monastery.

She was placed in the Intercession Church. It should be noted that, despite the closure of the monastery, many pilgrims wanted to pray in front of the icon. This had a beneficial effect on the prosperity of the places where she stayed.

Soon after the closure of the Kuryazh monastery, General Andrei Levanidov turned to Catherine II with a request to reopen it. This happened in 1796 at the expense of Privy Councilor Pyotr Saburov.

The miraculous image of the Blessed Virgin Mary returned to the monastery in 1779 and stayed there for 47 years. In 1836, the monastery was elevated to second-class status.

The religious procession with the icon of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God was allowed by Emperor Nicholas I

In 1843, residents of Kharkov turned to the Chief Prosecutor of the Holy Synod with a request to introduce a religious procession to transfer the Ozeryanskaya Icon of the Mother of God from the Kuryazhsky Monastery to the Kharkov Intercession Cathedral. On October 16, Emperor Nicholas I reviewed the report of the chief prosecutor and approved the request of the townspeople.

Processions of the cross took place on September 30 (from Kuryazh to Kharkov) and April 22 (from Kharkov to Kuryazh) according to the old style in accordance with the patronal holidays of the Kharkov Intercession Cathedral (October 1) and the Kuryazh Monastery (April 23).

At this time, classes in the city schools were stopped, retail shops and public places were closed. The procession was accompanied by solemn singing and the ringing of bells from Kharkov churches.

The first religious procession took place on September 30, 1844. In 1863, the honorary citizen of Kharkov, merchant Nikita Pavlov, submitted a request to the Holy Synod. He asked permission to transfer the miraculous icon of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God to Ozeryanka during the religious procession.

In this regard, it was necessary to build a chapel on Kholodnaya Gora, which later turned into a parish church.

In the summer of 1871, a cholera epidemic broke out in Kharkov. They began to carry the holy icon to the homes of Kharkov residents, shops, streets, squares, and prayer services were held everywhere. As a result, the pestilence subsided, the townspeople believed even more in the gracious help of the Ozeryansky image of the Mother of God.

Quotes from the Holy Fathers for every day

One of the most revered icons of the Mother of God in the Slobozhansky region is Ozeryanskaya. This name was given to the miraculous image according to the place of its appearance: on the banks of the Ozeryanka River. Currently, this is the village of Nizhnyaya Ozeryana, located 30 kilometers southwest of Kharkov and 3 kilometers from Merefa.

In the distant past, there was a desert-forested area riddled with ravines, through which the Ozeryanka River flowed. Its banks were covered with meadows overgrown with lush herbs. Here in the 17th century, when this region was still suffering from the aggressive Tatar raids, the miraculous discovery of the icon of the Mother of God took place.

At that time, these lands were in the possession of the Merefa priest Theodore. He established the Ozeryanka farm here and maintained an apiary. According to legend, one day a local peasant was mowing grass in a meadow. After another swing of the scythe, I heard a human groan.

Bending down, he saw in the thick grass an icon of the Mother of God cut by a scythe. Saddened by what happened, he brought the damaged icon home. And in the morning I did not find the image in my house - they found it in the meadow, where it was found. The parts of the icon cut by the oblique grew tightly together, leaving a barely noticeable scar at the site of the cut. A candle was burning in front of the icon, and a spring of spring water was flowing nearby.

Priest Theodore, spiritually delighted by the appearance of the icon of the Mother of God in his domain, informed Bishop Theodosius of Belgorod and Oboyansky about this and, with his blessing, built a wooden church in honor of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. The found holy image was installed in this temple. For many believers, the icon, named Ozeryanskaya, brought consolation and healing.

Seeing the signs of God’s grace emanating from the miraculous icon, Priest Theodore wished for a monastic monastery to be established in his deserted, secluded farm. At that time, the Ozeryanka farm was visited by the abbot of the Svyatogorsk Assumption Monastery, Archimandrite Sevastian (Yukhnovsky), known for his pious ascetic life.

According to legend, Archimandrite Sebastian was seriously ill and, according to a vow, walked a long distance from the Svyatogorsk Monastery to Ozeryanka to venerate the newly-minted miraculous icon. And through his prayers he received complete healing. Having learned about Priest Theodore's desire to found a monastery, Archimandrite Sebastian volunteered to help this good cause.

In 1711, the Mother of God Hermitage was founded in Ozeryanka, which marked the beginning of the founding of the hermitage. Through the efforts of Archimandrite Sebastian, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary was expanded and decorated, later the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist and a bell tower with a clock were erected, fraternal cells and a refectory were built, and the entire monastery was surrounded by a fence.

The place was really deserted then. It was surrounded by high hills, deep hollows and dense forests. A wooden church was erected on a hill, on the left bank of the Ozeryanka River.

By the will of the “His Serene Prince Tauride,” 15 monasteries of Slobozhanshchina ceased to exist, among them the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God Hermitage, as well as the Zmievskaya Nicholas Cossack and Svyatogorsk monasteries were closed. Their property was confiscated to the treasury, and the brethren of all the monasteries were gathered in the Kuryazhsky Monastery.

On October 16, 1843, based on the report of the chief prosecutor of the Holy Synod, Emperor Nikolai Pavlovich approved the request of the residents of Kharkov to introduce a religious procession to transfer the icon of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God from the Kuryazhsky Monastery to the Kharkov Intercession Cathedral. Religious processions were to take place on September 30 (from Kuryazh to Kharkov) and April 22 (from Kharkov to Kuryazh) according to the old style in accordance with the patronal holidays of the Kharkov Intercession Cathedral (October 1) and the Kuryazh Monastery (April 23).

On these days, activities in public places ceased, students were released from classes, and residents of the city and surrounding settlements flocked to meet the miraculous image. The procession was accompanied by unusually solemn singing and the ringing of bells from Kharkov churches, of which there were more than sixty at that time.

After the October Revolution, services in the parish Church of St. John the Baptist continued until 1935 - in November of this year the temple was closed and destroyed.

The last decade of the last century was a time of revival of Orthodox life in Ozeryan. In the summer of 1991, Metropolitan Nicodemus of Kharkov and Bogodukhov blessed Abbot Anthony (Sukhorukov) to restore the chapel and restore order at the site of the appearance of the Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God.

Miracles from the miraculous icon do not stop today. Nowadays, in the Ozeryansky church-chapel there are two icons: one is ancient, given by Archpriest Nikolai Baranenko, who for many years served as rector of the Ozeryansky church in Kharkov, the second was painted by the icon painter Inna Boyko. Anyone who, visiting a holy place, prays with faith in front of these icons, receives mercy from the Lord God and His Most Pure Mother.

In our time, two old copies of the Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God remain: one in the Holy Annunciation Cathedral in Kharkov, the other in the Holy Ozeryansky parish church on Kholodnaya Gora. And in the village of Nizhnie Ozeryany, where this miraculous icon was revealed, the Ozeryanskaya Church was built.

More than 300 years have passed since the miraculous appearance of the icon of the Mother of God in the village of Ozeryanka, not far from Kharkov. Many events have happened since then in the history of our people, but even now, as in the days of the miraculous appearance of the Ozeryansk Icon, Orthodox people pour out faith and love in prayer and cry out in faith: “Look, O Merciful One, upon Thy people, all our sorrows and sorrows.” quench, send down good consolation into our hearts and ask for eternal salvation for our souls, O Most Pure One. Rejoice, blessed Mother of God among women, illuminating us with the light of Christ’s love.”

In our time, the Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God is recognized as the patroness of the Kharkov region

In the 1930s, the original icon was lost. There are isolated mentions of him up to 1926. The last religious procession with the icon took place from August 31 to September 18, 1926 along the route Polna - Bely Kolodez - Volchansk - Grafskoye and back.

Two old copies of the miraculous image have survived to our time. One of them is kept in the Holy Annunciation Cathedral in Kharkov, the other in the Holy Ozeryansky parish church on Kholodnaya Gora.

Temples in honor of the icon

At the end of the 19th century, the Ozeryanskaya Church was built on the territory of the Intercession Monastery with donations from city residents. Its construction cost 198 thousand rubles. In the Ozeryanskaya church, consecrated on November 21, 1896, there was a miraculous icon.

Another Ozeryanskaya church was built on Kholodnaya Gora. The construction of this temple began in 1892 on land donated by peasants of the Kharkov volost. Previously, their common barn was located here. Construction cost 150 thousand rubles. The priest V. Ponomarev collected funds among the Moscow merchants, but Kharkov residents also donated a fairly large amount. In 1901, the three-throne (the main altar in honor of the Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God, the other two St. Prince Vladimir and St. Ambrose of Milan) was consecrated. During religious processions (the church was built between Kuryazh, where the Starokharkov Monastery was located, and the University Hill, where the Kharkov Intercession Monastery is located), from here, from the top of Kholodnaya Gora, the Kharkov bishops blessed Kharkov with the miraculous icon.

The Ozeryan Church was also built in the village of Nizhnie Ozeryan, where the icon was revealed. There is no parish priest; services are held on Saturdays (liturgy).

The Ozeryan image is most fully described in the works of D.P. Miller and D.I. Baglay

The original of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God is described in most detail in “The History of the City of Kharkov for 250 Years of Its Existence” (from 1655 to 1905) by D. P. Miller and D. I. Bagalei. According to him, the icon was made on a canvas 40 centimeters long and 34 centimeters wide. It is fixed to the canvas.

History of the city of Kharkov for 250 years of its existence, 1655 to 1905. Authors D. P. Miller and D. I. Bagalei. This work most fully describes the original image of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God

The style of drawing is characteristic of the South Russian school of icon painting, while the icon painter himself came from ordinary people. This is evidenced by the rough outlines of the figures, as well as the widespread use of blue and red paint, which is typical for Little Russian icons of the 17th-18th centuries.

The authors of the essay claim that the miraculous image was in poor condition upon examination. The Ozeryan image was most accurately described by D. P. Miller and D. I. Bagalei.

When examining the icon, the researchers saw on it the Mother of God, dressed in a red chiton with a blue maforium (long) veil. Her head is crowned. Or the Mother to the Child Jesus, the right hand indicates that Mary is praying, and the Child Redeemer sits in the crook of her left arm.

Jesus is depicted wearing a long red shirt. He has a crown on his head and it looks like the crown of the Virgin Mary. There are yellow halos around the heads of the Mother of God and Jesus, and around the figures on the icon there are stars and clouds in the upper left and right parts.

Many copies have been written from the Ozeryanskaya Icon of the Mother of God, some of which differ significantly from the original. At the same time, cases have been recorded when lists also became miraculous.

History of the icon

The true image is presented and accurately described in the “History of the city of Kharkov for 250 years of its existence” (from 1655 to 1905) by D. I. Bagaleya, D. P. Miller:

...Icon, says Prof. E.K. Redin, actually painted on canvas attached to a board. The letter, as Right Reverend rightly notes. Filaret, by an ancient Little Russian artist, in the sense, of course, that the icon is of local, southern Russian origin; its execution is rather mediocre and it was written, in all likelihood, by a simple master who copied a good example; the contours of the figures are rough, the paint, usual in southern Russian monuments for the 17th-18th centuries, is red and blue. The icon has reached our time in poor preservation, but the face of the Mother of God, the Child, their position, and the color of their clothes are still clearly outlined. The Mother of God is depicted turning her face towards the Child, wearing a red chiton and a blue maforium, and a crown on her head; her right hand is in a position of prayer, and with her left she supports the Infant Christ, sitting as if on her lap by her left hand;

The baby is dressed in a red chiton shirt, on his head he has the same crown as the Virgin Mary, in his left hand he holds a small Gospel, and with his right hand he blesses.

Both have yellow halos. Starting from the shoulders, around the halos of the Mother of God and Christ, against the background of the icon were stars, visible even now. There are icons at the top, clouds on the right and left. Dimensions of the icon: height 40 cm, width 34 cm.

In September 2010, the true image of the Ozeryany Icon of the Mother of God was recreated again, on September 16, 2010 it was consecrated at the place of its discovery - in Ozeryany and is currently located in the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross of the Holy Intercession Monastery.

The icon had special power in the place where it was found. Here the lame, the deaf, the blind and the possessed were healed. In addition, its role in the fight against epidemics of infectious diseases is widely known. For some, it is unclear what hunters and fishermen pray to the Ozeryansk Icon of the Mother of God, but there is a very interesting explanation.

The Ozernya image is the icon that is prayed for in the healing of severe fractures, injuries, diseases of vision and hearing. When praying, the image is second in power only to the icon of the Kazan Mother of God. In hunting and fishing, cases of injury are far from rare.

When and how to read correctly

Reading the akathist before the image of the Theodore Mother of God contributes to a successful marriage, the birth of children, resolution of difficult childbirth, the well-being of pregnant women, family happiness, the healing of children, and the proper upbringing of a child. The icon also helps in healing spiritual and physical illnesses.

The Akathist is read on holidays: March 27 and August 29. If family problems are very serious, it is allowed, with the blessing of the priest, to do this every day for a certain period of time (usually 40 days). You can independently contact the Heavenly Lady if necessary. Otherwise, the rules for reading the akathist are the same as for other texts in this category.

Prayers have been composed in honor of the Ozeryanskaya Icon of the Mother of God

You can address the miraculous Ozeryansky image in prayer in your own words. Usually in such a prayer it is advisable to use in any case such expressions in Old Church Slavonic as: “to your son and to God,” “the love of Christ illuminating us,” “the light of the love of Christ.”

The fact is that they are used in almost all prayers addressed to the Mother of God. At the same time, there is an akathist composed in her honor. The text of one of the most famous prayers is as follows:

Video: Reading the Akathist before the icon of the Ozeryanskaya Mother of God. The author reads a prayer to the miraculous image.

O Our Most Blessed Lady Theotokos! To You, who has found grace before God, to give birth to the world the Savior of our souls, with Him at the Cross, crucified with His prayer for the world, and the Matter of Light, named by Him, we fall down and pray.

Look, O All-Merciful One, upon us, by the Eternal Council of the Most Holy Trinity, to the grace-filled inheritance of eternal life, created by the sting of sin and those who have been defeated by the death of body and soul, and like Thy holy icon of Ozeryansk, having grown together in a wonderful way, You have flowed from it a source of miracles to all the faithful. and we, the Mother of God, reverently looking at your icon, heal our souls and bodies, and unite us with our weak nature, cut by sinful cuttings, with God, and make us children of His Divine love, by the power and action of the Holy Spirit.

But dissolve our hearts, O All-Merciful One, with the grace of Christ, and hasten to create our will to fulfill God’s commandments, and direct our feet on the path of peace—direct the Truth of Christ. And then, O All-Good One, our whole nature is ignited with love for God. Most Holy Lady, as in the difficult invasion of foreigners into our borders, with Your holy icon of Ozeryansk you strengthened the Orthodox people, so now with a sign

With the face of this Most Holy One, strengthen the Kharkov flock and all the faithful children of our country in the unanimity of faith, and save us from pernicious schisms and evil heresies and other troubles, and ask for unshakable peace from God for our Fatherland, and deliver us from all enemies who think evil for us. Fulfill the requests of Your faithful ones, who fall before Your holy icon and pray to You in sorrow, and grant us all everything that is necessary for salvation.

Make our wretched tears and sighs favorable before God and ask for forgiveness of our sins. And so, Most Blessed Mother, raise us up to praise You in thanksgiving, and strengthen us in the struggle of repentance, uncondemned partakers of the Most Pure Body and Honest Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, after the end of our life, graciously grant us to be.

At the hour of our departure, create the Mother’s Prayer for us before God, and bring our poor souls, through the cruel ordeals of the beginning and power of darkness, into the Kingdom of Heaven, where there is peace and endless joy, to the hedgehog in the Heavenly Church, by You, the Most Honest Cherub and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, adorned, constantly glorify and sing of the death of the Conqueror - the Lamb of God, who took away the sins of the world.

To Him, O Gracious One, for Your sake, be hosanna and thanksgiving, glory, honor and worship, with His Beginningless Father and with the Most Holy, Good and Life-Giving Spirit - the Holy Comforter, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen!
