We read the Apostle. September 17. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places

Every person in life brings blessings and curses not only to themselves, but also to their descendants. Everything that comes from the Creator is good, for God Himself is Good. This is His name. God's blessing is the highest gift a Christian can receive.

In the 21st century, many people go to church, but have no idea what the essence of blessings from the Almighty is, and how important it is for being happy in this hectic life. Living in constant trouble and sorrow, a Christian must deal with generational curses. Knowing the principles of receiving a blessing, a person will try never to lose it.

God's blessing is true happiness

What is a blessing

Divide the word “Blessing” into two, we get “good” and “word”. Theologians know that Good is one of the names of the Lord, God’s word and it is God Himself. The Gospel of John begins with precisely these words.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The Lord cannot be separated from good, and everything that comes from Him is filled with purity and goodness for man. To bless means to give a gift.

  • Icon "Blessing of Children"
  • What icon to bless children with before the wedding

The word blessing hides Divine help, His approval and mercy, protection and grace.

Often Christians in prayer ask the Almighty to bless them, thus calling the presence of the Creator and Savior into life. Sometimes people say to each other: “God bless you,” thereby wishing a person good luck, a solution to a problem, or recovery.

Calling for help from the Almighty is based on faith in the almighty power of the Savior Jesus Christ, God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Divine help

Everything in this life comes from God's word, for the Almighty gives blessing to humanity, and there is no end to it.

God's blessing is endless throughout the universe and time, He fills everything he has created:

  • truth;
  • order;
  • gifts;
  • laws;
  • love and much more.

In search of mercy and compassion, law and mercy, guidance and expression of will, people ask for God's blessing.

Important! God's blessing is a special gift from the Creator for the spiritual, mental and physical life of a person, given through prayer, petition and faith.

Who may or may not receive a blessing

The Lord Himself has determined those upon whom He pours out His special anointing and help. No man has a right to divine benefits because of sinfulness, but God gives them to us upon request with humility. Only a humble heart can be looked upon by the Lord.

Through the prophet Isaiah (Is.66:2), the Creator says that His grace is poured out on those who are humble in heart and contrite in spirit.

A humble person can receive God's blessing

Only awareness of one's sinfulness will lead to humility and then to holiness.

You can measure the completeness of your humility by analyzing your attitude towards the expected praise from people, the desire to excel, the need to be recognized.

  • A humble person will never allow himself to have high self-conceit, and will not praise his talents and abilities; he will give all the glory to the Lord.
  • Humility does not live next to resentment and insult, the inability to forgive and a painful reaction to criticism.
  • Humility suppresses grumbling about your life and financial situation, gossip and dissatisfaction with the world around you.
  • A humble person tends to have a soft heart, a meek disposition, tenderness, compassion and a willingness to help any person in need.

The Lord is ready to bless not only good people, His rain of grace pours over all people. (Matthew 5:45)

Those who believe in the Savior Christ are especially blessed; the Apostle John writes that he who believes in Jesus already has eternal life. (John 3:36)

Important! This means that the Almighty, although a merciful Father, is also a strict Judge. He punishes disobedience for the good of the person himself. And this is His mercy.

God's blessing is poured out on those who put God first in their lives and revere Him.

God blesses people who submit to His will

There is a certain category of people in the world for whom the sun of the Creator’s mercy will pour out when they get rid of their shortcomings:

  • lack of faith in the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ;
  • pride and arrogance, because “God opposes the proud”;
  • worship of the golden calf;
  • disobedience and disobedience.

Types and ways of blessings

Just as a person consists of spirit, soul and body, so God blesses on three levels.

Spiritual path

At this level, Christians receive several types of special anointing from the Almighty.

All people on earth are sinners, but by the power of the blood of Jesus, Christians receive justification and forgiveness of all sins that they bring to the cross during repentance, confession and communion.

The Great and Almighty Creator is open to the depth of His knowledge; during spiritual growth, people are filled with spiritual joy and special values. The Holy Spirit is open to baptism and filling by Him to all who seek the face of God.

Christians gain strength to join the church, to serve in God’s field, so that at the end of the journey they will receive the greatest reward—eternal life.

Soulful path

When the Lord blesses Christians, there is peace of mind and peace of mind in their hearts. Where can anxiety come from if everything is under the protection of the Creator?

Families blessed by the Almighty live in love, respect, help for each other and mutual understanding. Where God's anointing is sent, there is no worry about tomorrow, food or finances.

The Lord grants blessing to believers

Bodily way

A person filled with spiritual and mental benefits also receives physical support in the form of healing and health. A morally healthy person adapts well to the work team, he quickly rises through the ranks and is treated with respect by management.

The Lord gives faithful followers of wisdom the wisdom to be enterprising in order to achieve financial prosperity, in which part of the funds is brought into God's house to support it and the servants.

The Almighty blesses the earth and what it produces.

We continue to talk about the blessing of Abraham. Today I want to show what the Lord's blessing is. It is not uncommon for Christians to say, “God bless you!” But what is a blessing? You can hear from some Christians that any problem, any misfortune, or illness should be accepted as a blessing. But there is a definition of God's blessing in Scripture. When we talk about the blessing of Abraham, we are not talking about the blessing of any person. We are talking about the blessing that God blessed Abraham with. So when we talk about Abraham's blessing, we are talking about the Lord's blessing. And this is what the Bible says about him:

The blessing of the Lord - it enriches and does not bring sorrow with it.

(Proverbs 10:22)

A blessing is not just some thing that someone has blessed us with. Blessing is God's power to bring success in all areas of life. We need to understand the difference between the success of people who do not know God and God's blessing. If a person is successful in some business, if a person has a lot of money and property, then this does not mean that he has God's blessing. A person without God, if he really wants to, can achieve a lot in life. But the blessing of the Lord implies that God gives us success, God gives us the power to acquire wealth:

But remember the Lord your God, for He gives you the power to acquire wealth, so that you may fulfill His covenant, as now, which He swore to your fathers.

(Deuteronomy 8:18)

That's what a blessing is. Just because I don't have the natural ability to make a lot of money doesn't mean God hasn't blessed me. Because His blessing is the supernatural ability to be successful and prosperous.

And in the book of Proverbs we read that the Lord's blessing makes rich. That is, God's blessing always leads to prosperity. And the life of Abraham proves this. He was very rich because God blessed Him. But we can see an even stronger example of God's blessing in the life of Joseph, the great-grandson of Abraham. Despite the fact that he was sold into slavery by his brothers and then ended up in prison because of slander, God gave him success in every place:

And the Lord was with Joseph: he was successful in business and lived in the house of his master, the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that everything he did was brought to success by the Lord in his hands.

(Genesis 39:2,3)

The warden did not look at anything that was in his hands, because the Lord was with Joseph, and in everything he did, the Lord brought success.

(Genesis 39:23)

Reading the description of Joseph's life, we may think that he was simply God's “favorite”, that the blessing that was on his life has nothing to do with us. But he had the same blessing of Abraham, which belonged to his brothers, and to all Israel, and to us, the spiritual heirs of Abraham. And from the life of Joseph we see that God can bless at any time and in any place. Even if it's slavery, even if it's prison. In any place the Lord's blessing brings success. This is also stated in the book of Deuteronomy:

Blessed are you in the city and blessed in the field.

(Deuteronomy 28:3)

If you walk with God's blessing, it follows you wherever you go. No circumstances, financial or other crises can stop God from blessing us. Only we ourselves can interfere. Not many Christians today believe that God really wants to bless us. Or, as I said before, they imagine that God can bless us with illness or poverty. Or if we think that financial success is evil, then we are not giving God the opportunity to bless us.

The book of Proverbs also says, “The blessing of the Lord brings no sorrow.” This means that we do not need to fear His blessings, because when God blesses, He will make sure that we are ready to receive and use it correctly. In the case of Joseph, we see that when his dreams came true and he was made second in command to Pharaoh in Egypt, he used this to help his family, his brothers, who sold him into slavery.

To some, this whole definition of God's blessing may seem abstract and not relevant to real life. Someone says: “That’s all well and good, but how can I get money now to pay off debts, pay bills, etc.?” We are talking about God's blessing, which applies to real life. To every believer in Christ Jesus belongs the blessing of Abraham:

So believers are blessed with faithful Abraham.

(Galatians 3:9)

We need to believe in this. And when we turn to God for help, we need to base our prayers not just on our desire to solve financial problems, but on God's word, on the blessing that He has already prepared for us. Only by having faith based on God's word can we receive God's blessing and walk in it.

May God bless you!
