When was Jesus Christ born? Is the exact date known and which is correct - December 25 or January 7 according to the Bible? A friend of mine has a theologian friend who says that Jesus Christ was actually born on December 25th.
“Why do we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25th? December 25 was chosen because the 25th of the 12th month (Kislev) is the first day of Hanukkah in Israel. The earliest written record of Christians states that this correct date dates back to the 2nd century. And no compelling calls to change this date have ever made sense. In the Holy Land, shepherds remain far out in the fields even in February, and Bethlehem almost never experiences cold enough snowy weather. This is a desert, after all. Interestingly, in 5 BC. e. (probably the correct year of His birth) December 25th fell on the same day as Kislev 25 on the Hebrew calendar, if you count the dates back on the Western calendar.
The claim that the date of the birth of Jesus Christ is associated with the pagan festival of the Roman Saturnalia is absurd, since the early Christians were mainly Jews, not pagans. And the Jewish holiday is its more obvious predecessor. It also fits the timing.
From Joseph we know when the priest Zechariah (Abiah) was in service in September 7 BC. e., 6 months later, in March, Gabriel visited Mary. 9 months later it was the end of December - beginning of January. And Herod the Great died in 4 BC. So... Why argue with the ancient authorities when all documentary evidence from this period points to the authenticity of December 25, 5 BC. uh? Answer:
When was Jesus Christ born?
To be honest, I don’t know the exact date when Jesus Christ was born. I believe that no one alive knows the date of birth of Jesus Christ. The Bible did not record this date. No other ancient document did this. The evidence from the early church is that the date of Christmas was chosen not because it was the actual date of Jesus' birth, but because it coincided with Saturnalia, a pagan festival rival to the Christian holiday of Christmas.
I do not rule out that Jesus was born on December 25th. This was possible, but evidence from the early church does not support this date. The data used above ("September" and the estimate of the 6th month of Elizabeth's pregnancy) is very approximate. The idea of parallels with Hanukkah and the dedication of the temple is interesting. I actually like this idea (not that December 25th is the actual date, but the choice of date in particular due to the proximity to Hanukkah), but given the lack of supporting documentation, I remain a little skeptical about this idea. The possibility that December 25 was chosen to coincide with the timing of the Saturnalia and partly the dedication of the temple is interesting and even compelling, but the idea that this is the actual date of Jesus' birth is, again, unconvincing to me.
Dates of birth and death of Jesus Christ
On April 19, Orthodox Christianity will celebrate one of its most important holidays - Easter.
However, from the point of view of history and astronomy, it is not entirely clear to me why Easter is celebrated in April? A legendary person who really lived in the 1st century, and who really had extraordinary abilities (and if we accept the version of the theory of contact with supercivilizations from Space (pre-civilizations of the Earth), which became gods for the primitive earthlings of the 1st century - it is quite possible that she also had contact with them - but this is a subject for separate discussions), crucified on February 6, 26 AD.
Where did this date come from - 02/06/0026?
Very simple: from the Bible. There, if you remember, there is a description of the day of execution. “...And the sunlight began to fade, and darkness fell from hour 6 to hour 9...” What natural phenomenon can correspond to this description?
Only a solar eclipse! And the only solar eclipse in the 1st century that could be seen in the Middle East in the afternoon (time was then counted not as we do - from midnight, but in the morning, from sunrise: and it turns out the hours from 6 to 9 - this is the 2nd half of the day ) - occurred on Wednesday, February 6, 26!
Pay attention to the day of the week! According to legend, Jesus was taken down from the cross on the second day after the crucifixion, “disappeared from the burial,” according to legend, he was resurrected on Sunday. Thus, it turns out that if he was crucified by noon on Wednesday, then they took him down from the cross and buried him on Friday morning. And he rose again on the third day. The day of the funeral is considered the first day among Christians. Then Saturday will be the second, and Sunday will be the third. The legend is fulfilled.
And let us remember about the Star of Bethlehem, which indicated his birth to the Magi. For many centuries it was believed that it was a comet. However, let us take it as an axiom that any legend is based on real events. And according to legend, the priests predicted the time of his birth. That is, this astronomical phenomenon must be predictable.
But 90% of comets have parabolic or hyperbolic orbits, which, in the absence of optical and computer technology, makes it impossible to calculate the time of their appearance. Yes, even for elliptical comets this is difficult to do, not to mention the fact that the gravity of Jupiter (and to a lesser extent Saturn) regularly changes the orbits of comets. So what could it be?
In the autumn of 7 BC. There was a tangential conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn - 2 objects were located so close in the sky that they merged into one, naturally, according to the laws of wave physics, of greater brightness. And so the calculation of such an event as the conjunction of planets (which move more or less uniformly, in their orbits close to circles) was already available for calculation to the priest-astronomers of that time.
The luminaries have always been considered the main driving force in astrology. And the priests of the Middle East paid the most attention to the Moon.
In all frescoes and illustrations, the night of Jesus' birth is reflected as lunar.
Twice: September 8 and October 5, 7 BC. The Moon was conjunct Jupiter and Saturn in the constellation Pisces. It is the conjunctions of the Moon that have always served as indicators of the birth of outstanding personalities. Look at the charts of extraordinary personalities: almost all of them have the Moon in conjunction with some planet.
Between 7 BC and 26 AD 32 years pass. Not exactly the number given in the Bible. But close enough to it. In the absence of databases, accurate records may not have been preserved. And the first Gospels began to be written only 400 years later, by people far from astronomy. Or maybe it’s just that the number 33 turned out to be much more mystical?.. But, nevertheless, those cited almost fall into the age indicated by the legend.
In general, the biblical description of the birth of Jesus is more like a veiled horoscope. The sanctity of the sacrament of birth would not allow the owners to leave the woman in labor to give birth in a donkey manger. Most likely there is an astrological subtext here! In the constellation Cancer there is a nebula, M44, called... Manger. And the stars beta and gamma of this constellation, Ascellus Borealis and Ascellus Australis, are translated as Northern Ass and Southern Ass. Here are the mangers and donkeys...
Astrological chart based on October 5, 7 BC. Since it is known that Asc should be at 9–10° Cancer, we will put it there. And we are not interested in directional angles and dynamics, and therefore the MS error ± 1° will not concern us. Let's take Jerusalem as the place of birth, simply because its coordinates are in the database, and this is a settlement close to the real birth.
Most obviously, "place of birth" describes the sign on the Asc. In 7 BC. The Manger Nebula was located at 9°18′ Cancer. This means that the Asc of Jesus is at 9–10° Cancer. Which is logical: since with Cancer ascending, both Virgo (September) and Libra (October), where the Sun could be, were under the horizon - it was night, time around midnight.
Then the conjunction of Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon in the sign (constellation - then they coincided) of Pisces fell on the 9th house of the chart! And we have a popular messiah!
It is more likely that the date of birth is October 5, 7 BC.
Since from this date transits on February 6, 26 are the most dangerous:
- The ruler of the 8th house, Saturn, at 9° Aries forms an opposition to the Sun (1° orb) and an exact (!) square to the Asc! An extremely powerful sign!
- The second ruler of the 8th house, Uranus, at 15° Cancer, passed Asc a year ago. And it forms an opposition to Neptune, the ruler of the 9th house, in Capricorn - this is when persecution and persecution began.
- There is a solar eclipse in the 8th house of the chart! Which always works on outstanding personalities.
- Transiting Mars at 5° Libra is also approaching the Sun and square the Asc.
- Transiting Pluto has a slightly smaller orb of transit square with Uranus.
- The true black moon, Druj, stands exactly on the South Node of the chart.
In the map of September 8, transits look less threatening...
It is most likely that he was born on October 5, 7 BC, and was crucified on February 6, 26 AD.
But with Christmas everything is more or less clear. It was scheduled for December 25 to replace the pagan holiday of Kolovorot. What about death? Did this date replace some early holiday in April? It is unlikely that most of the peoples of Europe lived according to the solar calendar (as Christmas is considered), and Easter is calculated according to the lunar calendar.
Calendar error? The Julian calendar, which is still used by the Orthodox Church, was introduced back in 44 BC, and in the 1st century AD. the entire Roman Empire already lived according to it. And he was crucified by order of the Roman procurator...
Easter is determined according to the lunar calendar. Maybe there is an inaccuracy in the boundaries? And the date just “floats away” century after century? But the Easter calendar defines Easter as the Sunday on the last lunar quarter after the spring equinox. But according to no Roman calendar, the equinox never occurred in winter. That’s why it’s an equinox, in astronomical sense.
And the question is: why does this happen? Where did the tradition of celebrating Easter in April come from, if it would be more correct to celebrate it in February? How did this happen?!

From whom was Christ born?
The phrase “Father of Jesus Christ” sounds ambiguous to an unchurched secular person. On the one hand, according to Christian dogmas, the Virgin Mary conceived from God (by the Holy Spirit). On the other hand, the Mother of God was considered the wife of the righteous Joseph, who preserved her virginity. It was Joseph who raised Jesus Christ, and the Savior obeyed him in all earthly affairs as a true son. But for Christians there is no contradiction in this matter. The Divine Father was indeed God Himself, and the earthly Father was the righteous Joseph the Betrothed.

The Year of the Wooden Goat will bring new big plans for people born under the sign of Gemini, which should be considered before it begins. After all, this year is a time of global change for Gemini. It is in 2015 that Gemini will begin to implement their most important and unusual plans. Communication with people from completely different walks of life will be simple and comfortable for Gemini. This will allow you to “enter without knocking” at any door, acquiring many influential friends and patrons. Falling in love again and getting married will radically change the life position of a representative of this sign. This could be a change of profession, moving to another area, or even going abroad for permanent residence. Love will be the defining motive for Gemini throughout the year. Good luck will accompany Gemini all year. Expect surprises from life. New acquaintances and promising offers are just around the corner. CAREER
People born under the sign of Gemini will devote the entire year to trying to occupy a leadership position. Moreover, they use connections and influential acquaintances to achieve their cherished goal. Most of them will be able to achieve this. But whether they will be able to competently lead and manage is a big question. The most favorable period for Gemini's career growth is from August to November 2015. The greatest success awaits people of this sign in creative work. In any case, Gemini will try to work independently in 2015 in order to be able to not depend on anyone and move freely as needed. However, there will be so many interesting offers that it’s worth thinking about creating a team of like-minded people. Such changes will have a beneficial effect on their work efficiency and wages. The 2015 horoscope warns Gemini about the danger of losing their heads from love; this can interfere with ambitious plans and slow down their implementation.
FINANCE
Gemini's optimism and resourcefulness in the field of finance will be clearly evident throughout the year. These people do not depend on money. It will not be difficult for them to find friends or acquaintances with money to realize all their ambitious plans. They will spend mainly on themselves and their family, and will seriously think about buying a home or an expensive car. But for such transactions you will have to take out a loan or borrow money from friends. If you do not carefully calculate your capabilities, then litigation related to debts is very likely. Carelessness and adventurism in matters of finance can be very costly for Gemini in 2015. The year is absolutely not suitable for gambling and dubious investments; in this case, Gemini will lose a large amount. HEALTH
Astrologers predict great achievements for Gemini if they take care of their health in time. A careless attitude towards the prevention of chronic diseases can lead to serious exacerbations this year. You will have to undergo long-term treatment. It is worthwhile to examine organs that previously caused concern at the beginning of the year. Regular intake of vitamins and a reasonable diet will not hurt. In addition, the likelihood of injury increases in the year of the Goat. Compliance with safety precautions when driving a car and in the workplace is the main rule for Gemini men for 2015. A careless attitude towards health can lead to chronic fatigue syndrome by the end of the year, and there simply won’t be enough energy to implement all your plans. Therefore, do not deny yourself good rest and be sure to use your next vacation. There is no need to give up going to the theater or traveling out of town. Even a quiet evening in a cafe will help restore energy and give strength for the next professional victories.
LOVE
The sexuality and domineering nature of Gemini will allow them to achieve everything they want in the love sphere. Lonely Geminis will constantly be in search of new partners, while showing miracles of ingenuity and activity. But the likelihood of marrying a Gemini in the year of the Goat is extremely low. If you still manage to bring a representative of this sign to the altar, the family will be strong and happy for many years. The most favorable time for concluding a marriage is the spring months (March, April) and autumn (from September to early November). If relationships with the opposite sex are not formalized by the beginning of 2015, most likely they will end in separation. The initiator of the break will be Gemini, for whom the partner will no longer be interesting. Serious passions await family Geminis; they will disappear from the family, defending their independence and freedom. Their selfishness will often become the cause of quarrels and scandals. A common hobby or business will help you improve your relationship with your partner. Construction of a house or major renovation can strengthen the union of Gemini and his spouse. Both spouses will do this with passion and pleasure. By the middle of the year, family relationships will calm down and stabilize. Children can bring a lot of trouble to Gemini women; most likely, this will be related to their studies. In general, kids have great power over their Gemini parents. It is a child that can destroy a Gemini’s relationship with his new partner.
