Bell ringing and its unique healing properties

About the antiviral properties of ringing

As a graduate of the Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University, who communicates, among other things, with professional scientists - epidemiologists and virologists - I can say that I have not seen a credible scientific work on the miraculous effect of bell ringing.

An experiment is needed to confirm. For example, for a certain (and sufficient) amount of time, observe under the same conditions very similar organisms affected by the same pathogen - one without the ringing of bells, and the second with the ringing of bells.

Developing the topic, we can say that in order for the ringing of bells to seriously influence the population, it must be powerful, widespread and long-lasting. These conditions are not met anywhere. Even in monasteries they call only before, during and after services, rarely more than 15-20 minutes each time. Too little for the ringing to have an “energetic” effect.

Has anyone ever done such pure research? Most likely, when they talk about ringing in this context, we are talking about some indirect results. I don’t see a serious scientific basis for this.

So I have some doubts about theories about the miraculous influence of bell ringing on humans.

Basically, the sound of a bell is just one of many sounds that surround us. The ultrasonic range is, of course, also involved in the sound of bells. But ultrasound itself is not something that is peculiar only to bells, and only to them. If it were necessary to disinfect city air with ultrasound, then today there would be powerful modern electric ultrasonic generators on the roofs of houses. But this is not being done...

How does ringing a bell heal a person?

In Goethe's famous tragedy, the ringing of Easter bells forced Faust to throw the cup of poison. But in real life, bells, especially those ringing simultaneously, led by a skilled bell-ringer, create very powerful favorable energy vibrations. The sound waves coming from the bell have very powerful healing powers. This is not just a subjective conclusion - a number of studies have been conducted that have shown the ability of bell ringing to cleanse the surrounding space of harmful formations.

It is known that the ringing of bells is good for health, but few people know what exactly these benefits are. Even in ancient times in Rus', people believed that if you rang a bell over a seriously ill person, it would help him recover. In the Middle Ages, when epidemics threatened, they began to ring bells, thus trying to escape from the misfortune. Currently, numerous observations have confirmed the beneficial effect of bell ringing for the treatment of nervousness, stress, vegetative-vascular dystonia and hypertension. It also helps with gastric and duodenal ulcers, bronchial asthma, heart disease, cholelithiasis, and mastopathy. Bell ringing can heal patients with infectious diseases by strengthening their immunity. What is hidden behind the life-giving power of bell ringing, a metaphysical essence or completely explainable phenomena? There is no clear opinion here, but scientists who conducted research in this direction came to some interesting results.

The ringing of bells heals the soul

Researchers observed how the human energy field changed under the influence of the ringing of bells. It became symmetrical, its area increased, and there were signs of restoration of the field structure.

The sound of a bell tower represents a kind of sound atmosphere, being in which affects a person’s emotional state. Different combinations can cause sadness or joy, thoughtfulness or a burst of creative enthusiasm.

Back in the 70s of the last century, Soviet scientists discovered that ringing bells healed ailments such as nervousness, causeless anxiety, dizziness and insomnia. Various types of phobias. If you listen to music performed on bells, this will help you get out of severe depression and some mental illnesses. Fights infection

The sound vibrations caused by bells cover not only the range we can hear, but also go beyond it. We cannot hear vibrations with a frequency of more than 25 kHz, called ultrasound, but they are capable of destroying pathogens. Today, ultrasound is used to preserve food and sterilize medical instruments and spacecraft. The use of the therapeutic properties of the ultrasound spectrum improves immunity and reduces recovery time for infectious diseases.

It has been established that after exposure to bell ringing, the activity of pathogenic microorganisms decreases by 40%. The sounds of a bell, carrying resonant ultrasonic radiation, can kill pathogenic bacteria and viruses within a few seconds. Ultrasonic vibrations of the bells destroy their shell, after which the bacteria or viral particle becomes harmless to our health.

Japanese scientists have repeatedly conducted studies on the effect of bell ringing on viruses. They placed different types of viruses into a glass of water and placed the glass under a bell. According to the results of these studies, 90% of the viruses died after the ringing. Only the most persistent remained. Then restless researchers tried to do the same with a CD recording. It turned out that up to 50% of viruses died in front of the speakers of a tape recorder playing Russian bells. Relieves pain

Until now, in some monasteries, monks treat any pain by applying the sore spot to a sounding bell.
The analgesic effect of bells was studied by doctors in a series of experiments. Russian doctors have proven the amazing properties of bell ringing: these sounds can relieve pain even in the most advanced stages of cancer. It is no coincidence that in the old days bells were used as a remedy; then it was believed that their ringing saved even from epidemics. Most likely, the bell, like a tuning fork, allows a person to tune in to health, thereby increasing resistance to diseases. Perhaps, having caught the desired reference frequency, the body itself begins to pull itself out of the disease. Heals blood vessels
Recently, scientists have found that the sound waves generated by the ringing of bells reduce the hydrodynamic resistance of blood vessels, resulting in increased blood and lymph flow. It turned out that vessels of different diameters require their own sound frequency, so only the ringing of different bells can have a beneficial effect on all vessels at once.

Brings back youth

According to physicists who studied sound waves emanating from bells, under their influence, special ultra-light particles called microleptons are excited in the space around us. At the same time, electronic microfields are generated that block harmful isotopes, free radicals and have a rejuvenating effect on the human body. In the Christian tradition, it is common to believe that the ringing of bells changes a person’s consciousness so much that it opens the way to God for his soul. And the Lord, hearing the heartfelt prayer, sends relief! >>

What does ringing affect?

The ringing of church bells has a beneficial effect on human consciousness, fulfilling its main task - measuring our time with you.

By the ringing you can always understand what service is going on in the church, what moment of the service, whether, for example, the Great Blessing of Water is taking place, and so on. Ringing gives people a sense of time: we know that, say, at 8 a.m. they ring for the morning service, and at 5 p.m. for the evening service. The bell ringers stand almost with a stopwatch in order to make the ringing accurately.

A person who has a certain daily routine leads a measured lifestyle, and this is truly healthy, as opposed to chaos.

For a professional Electronic bell ringer, we have selected the best examples of bell ringing in Russia. We understood that each ringing should have its own personality (rhythmic and melodic), distinguishing it from other bell ringings, so that parishioners could easily distinguish one ringing from another. In this case, the ringing should be heard equally beautifully both on a set of 13 bells and on a set of 6 bells. We listened to more than 100 original bell ringings. From these we have selected the best examples - the brightest and most memorable.

The first festive ringing in the Electronic Bell Ringer is the famous festive ringing of Abbot Micah from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra . The bright original syncopated rhythm in combination with all sorts of “plays” of the ringing bells creates a truly festive mood, delight and surprise that only one bell ringer is able to perform such beauty!

The repeating melody with quarter notes on the middle bells and two sixteenth notes on the weak beat on the bells is a unique tradition of the Pskov-Pechersky Monastery . This ringing is difficult to confuse with other bell ringings. In the Electronic Bellringer it is number 4 (second Sunday bell).

The belfry in the Rostov Kremlin is famous for its unique large bells - Sysoy (32 tons), Polyeleiny (16 tons), Swan (8 tons), Golodar (2.7 tons), Baran (1.3 tons) and others. These bells are usually rung by an ensemble of 3-4 people. In the Electronic Bellringer, the first everyday ringing consists of 4 Rostov ringings: Ioninsky, Akimovsky, Egoryevsky and Ionafanovsky . They are distinguished from other chimes by their powerful chords and minimal variety in terms of rhythm and melody. At the Rostov belfry, these bells are heard as if they were festive, because each sounding chord contains a huge palette of sounds that create an amazing, unique sound that you can listen to endlessly without getting tired of it. But when transposed into small sets of bells, this atmosphere disappears, and the ringing is no longer heard as festive, but rather as everyday. This is due to the fact that the ringing is based on the simplest melodic and rhythmic turns. And if at the Rostov belfry in the chord of the Yegoryevsky ringing 11 bells sound simultaneously, then in the arrangement for a set of 7 bells the chords consist of four sounds and therefore the ringing is no longer heard as a festive one.

The fifth Sunday bell in the professional system The electronic bell ringer is based on the ringing of “We bow to Thy Cross, Master” of the Danilov stauropegial monastery in Moscow. The original ringing is performed on the famous set of 14 antique bells. The middle bells sound . It is especially difficult to arrange for a set of 6 bells, but, nevertheless, the melody of the prayer can be heard. Yes, a lot depends on the set of bells on which this ringing will be performed, but it is equally important to correctly adapt the ringing so that this melody is also recognizable on your bells.

When you hear the sound of one bell repeated more than three times in a row, you immediately remember the famous ringing of the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow. The uniqueness of this ringing is that the bell ringer can use one bell even more than 20 times in a row, while the ringing is heard beautifully and there is no feeling that it is standing still. Many bell ringers, especially in the Moscow region, like to use this technique in their ringing. In the professional Electronic Bellringer system, this tradition is used in the third everyday ringing.

Bell ringing during epidemics

Previously, in the old days, bells did ring during epidemics, but the point is not that someone did research and proved that it was an antiviral and antibacterial agent. Virology and microbiology in those days can be discussed very conditionally. The point is that the ringing was the thread that connected people with the Church in a situation where it was impossible to get to the temple - there was no strength or it was dangerous to gather together in an epidemic situation. Spreading around the temple, the ringing indicates that the bell ringer, and therefore the clergyman, with whose blessing he rings, does not leave people with his attention.

If people know that there is a bell ringing, and it is not automatic, but a living person - a bell ringer - in the bell tower, this means that the city has not died out and there is a living soul in the temple, which is doing its job in its place. And therefore, tomorrow everything will be fine. From this understanding, an internal feeling of balance arises: the world has not turned upside down, the temple is not empty, I can take care of my health, condition and little by little, with prayer, overcome the trials that have come.

I would say that this is rather psychosomatic: when a person feels that they are cared for, that he is not alone, not abandoned, it is much easier for him to mobilize and overcome trials, including illness. It is known that people get sick more when they feel afraid of the disease, and if it’s not so scary, then they get sick less.

So the ringing as an encouraging factor during an epidemic - yes, as a purely mechanical healing - no.

We can do without a donor

To understand the mechanism of the technology, we need to talk about how the pancreas works and what causes diabetes. This organ contains so-called beta cells, grouped into islets, which automatically produce insulin in response to increased blood glucose levels. In a number of autoimmune or chronic diseases, their total weight decreases, and functional disorders appear in the form of insufficient insulin production. The result is an increase in serum glucose levels.

- This is insulin-requiring diabetes mellitus. It occurs if the number of islets has decreased by 80 percent,” says Vladimir Zagainov, head of the department of faculty surgery and transplantology, chief freelance transplantologist of the Ministry of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The scientist emphasizes that there is only one method of treating diabetes - pancreas transplantation. The need for this operation in Russia is met by thousandths of a percent, which is due to the shortage of donor organs. In all other cases, we are talking about compensation of the disease with the help of insulin. However, even a transplant involves the need for immunosuppressive therapy so that the patient’s body does not reject the donor organ. But it has its disadvantages, especially in the long term.

The main idea of the project is not to transplant the entire pancreas, but only the islets consisting of those same beta cells.

— The islets will be isolated from the donor gland in a special way. Even if the whole gland is not suitable for transplantation, you can try to isolate islets from it and transplant them, explains Vladimir Zagainov.

People around the world are trying to implement this idea in different ways and with varying degrees of success. The introduction of islets from a donor requires the same unsafe immunosuppressive therapy. At PIMU, scientists are developing a variant of transplanting cells enclosed in special porous capsules. In theory, the cells take root and begin to produce insulin. A person is cured of diabetes. And the capsule's pores are small enough to prevent the body's immune cells from attacking it, so no immunosuppressive therapy is required. It is important that we are talking about minimally invasive operations, and not about complex transplantations. There are several possible options: injection into the abdominal cavity by puncture or injection into the liver through the portal vein.

The first experiments of scientists from the Research Institute of Experimental Oncology and Biomedical Technologies of PIMU together with the Institute of Organometallic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences were successful.

“In the long term, we plan to work on growing beta cells from stem cells,” says Vladimir Zagainov. — In parallel, together with colleagues from the National Medical Research Center for Transplantology and Artificial Organs named after Shumakov, we are engaged in legitimizing the technology. Previously, no one in Russia had undertaken this, so transplantation of pancreatic beta cell islets has not yet been included in the list of permitted ones, although it already exists in the world. We hope that the issue will be resolved soon.

We plan to work on growing beta cells from stem cells

In 2022, the project, carried out under the state order of the Russian Ministry of Health, will be completed. It will be possible to test the method on animals and then register it. To my question when the treatment will be available to Russian patients, Professor Zagainov answered briefly:

“There are enough declarations in life, let’s get down to business.”

A comment

Olga Zanozina, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Endocrinology, Nizhny Novgorod Regional Hospital named after Semashko:

— Along with the improvement of the insulins themselves, the methods of their introduction into the patient’s body, and the improvement of therapeutic training for patients with diabetes, another direction is being developed - transplantation technologies that make it possible to introduce beta cells of the pancreatic islets, which produce insulin, into the body of a sick person.

A positive effect is achieved through masterful collection, storage and administration of islet cells to a sick person. With a successful result, there is almost complete control of glycemia, the absence of hypoglycemia and the need for exogenous insulin. All this work requires jewelry craftsmanship.

The different sizes of the plates made it possible to select the sound tonality individually for each patient. As a result, in a third of cancer patients, the pain subsided and they were able to fall asleep. Another third of the patients got rid of pain that was not relieved even by strong analgesics.

Speech on the topic “Healing music of bells”

Bell therapy. Healing music of bells.

The bell is one of the symbols of Rus', its strength, faith in the future and memory of the past.

What is a bell?

According to one of the most common hypotheses, the Russian word “bell” comes from the German Glocke - bell, bell. Some scientists believe that the original source is the Russian word “kolo” - circle, circle

  • A bell is a “self-sounding musical instrument”
  • The bell is “an overturned bowl with a raspberry ringing”
  • The bell is one of the oldest symbols of Orthodox Rus', and now also a sign of its revival
  • A bell is a metal bowl turned upside down, inside of which a metal “tongue” is suspended in the center of the bottom; when they move mutually, they hit the wall of the bowl, and it makes a sound

Pedigree of bells

The history of bells is so ancient that it is quite difficult to find their homeland.

A number of researchers believe that the birthplace of bells is China, because bronze casting technology was created in the SYA era (XXIII-XVIII centuries BC)

In the Shang era (XVI-XI centuries BC), bells became widespread.

  • In the Zhou era (XII-III centuries BC), they were hung as amulets on the neck of a horse or on a belt to ward off evil spirits.
  • For the military, the ringing of bells served as an alarm signal; in temples it accompanied sacrifices.
  • Among the archaeological finds of the VI-V centuries. BC. there are many bronze bells - ancient Hebrew and ancient Greek, Scythian and Etruscan...
  • In the ancient world they performed signaling functions.
  • In Ancient Rome, the ringing of bells announced the opening of markets and baths, executions...
  • Bells appeared in Russia about a thousand years ago. They came to us from Byzantium along with Christianity.
  • In Moscow before the 1917 revolution, there were approximately 4,000 churches, each of them had 5-10 bells.
  • ● The bells were large and small.
  • ● Bells were often given names: Bear, Reut, Sysoy, etc.
  • ● The weight of some large bells is as follows: Lebed (made in 1550) - 2200 pounds; Bolshoy Uspensky (1654) – 8000 poods
  • The Tsar Bell is the largest bell in the world. It has no equal not only in size and weight, but also in artistic casting. Cast by Russian masters Ivan and Mikhail Matorin in 1733-1735.

Sounds of a bell

The ringing of the bell accompanied the entire life of an Orthodox person - with the ringing of the bell a child was born, the sacraments of baptism, wedding, and funeral services were performed. When they defeated the enemy, the winners were greeted with joyful ringing.

Each bell has a main tone corresponding to the pitch of its sound, and a rich, unique set of additional tones - lower and higher. It is they who create the variety of timbres by which the voices of bells with the same pitch of the fundamental tone are distinguished.

At the belfry, the bells are divided into groups: small, medium and large. Each group of bells is capable of creating certain emotional sensations, setting one in a certain mood. Low sounds have a calming effect, while high tones promote revitalization. At the same time, low tones of bells can have a more beneficial healing effect compared to high tones

The sound spectrum of a bell contains inaudible sounds - ultrasound and infrasound.

Our ear does not perceive them, but man is a biological system, and therefore responds to their influence. When the bells ring, there is a feeling of solemnity, an inextricable connection with one’s homeland, with one’s people, its history and traditions

The healing properties of bell ringing

The ringing of bells creates a joyful and bright mood. It can change a person’s soul for the better, making him think about the meaning of life. The ringing of bells has a wondrous power that penetrates deep into the heart.

Treatment with bells is a long-standing Russian tradition. After October 1917, it was unfortunately lost. Only in the late 80s and early 90s of the last century, with the revival of active church life in modern Russia, did experts start talking about the beneficial effects of bells on the human psyche.

Scientists have discovered that the unique spiral-shaped sound path produced by striking a bell is detrimental to many pathogenic microbes. Due to the specific distribution of sound wave power, the structures of microbial cells come into resonance and are destroyed.

Under the influence of the bell ringing, any headache goes away. If the sound of an individual bell is unique, then the voice of a belfry consisting of several bells represents a whole “atmosphere” of sounds, often difficult to predict due to the complex interaction of individual spectra. By using predominantly bells of one group or another in a ringing composition, it is possible to create appropriate emotional moods in listeners

Research has shown that bell ringing has beneficial effects on:

  • Autonomic dysfunctions of the nervous system, including those accompanied by fear, depression, sleep disturbances, etc.;
  • Resorption of hematomas
  • · treatment of the hearing impaired (hearing improves by at least 20 dB);
  • regulation of metabolism in obese people;
  • general rejuvenating effect;
  • Improvement of cardiovascular activity; · reduction of convulsive readiness and removal of tics; ·
  • and much more.

The ringing of bells helps you concentrate and listen to yourself, which is not often possible in the bustle of everyday life. Experts say that the bell affects the human body. Each part of the spine - cervical, thoracic, lumbar - has its own sound note. “Playing” on these notes, the bell ringing acts through the autonomic nervous system on one or another organ or part of the body. It turns out to be a “sound massage”.

The beneficial effect of the bell is based on the well-known fact that the organs of the human body are tuned to certain tones and the entire body, like a sensitive musical instrument, resonates with the surrounding sound field. The ringing of bells can relieve a person from a stressful state, help him quickly undergo psychotherapeutic rehabilitation and return to normal life (including after suffering extreme nervous shocks).

Modern medicine has come to the conclusion that bell ringing successfully treats a number of mental and psychosomatic diseases. The sound of bells is a very powerful healing agent.

It is very important for a person to listen to the live ringing of bells once a year. The live sound of a bell has a high frequency that cannot be reproduced by acoustics. Bell ringing has a therapeutic effect only when it does not cause irritation; a therapy session can last no more than 15-20 minutes.
