Troparions for every day - who does the Orthodox Church pray to during the week?

Prayers for the dead

Troparion, tone 8

With the depth of wisdom, build everything humanely, and give what is useful to everyone, O One Creator, Lord rest the soul of Your servant (or: the soul of Your servant; about many: the souls of Your servant): for I have placed my trust in You, the Creator and Maker and our God.

Translation: With the deepest wisdom, lovingly governing everything and giving useful things to everyone, the One Creator, rest, O Lord, the souls of Your servants, for they have placed their hope in You, the Creator, and Provider, and our God.

  • Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
  • Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now, and always, and forever and ever. Amen.

Theotokos: You are the wall, the refuge of the imams, and the Prayer Book favorable to God, Whom you gave birth to, O Blessed Mother of God, the salvation of the faithful.

In you we have a wall, a refuge, and an Intercessor, pleasing to God, Whom You gave birth to, O Mother of God, who did not know marriage, the salvation of the faithful.

Troparion, tone 5

Chorus: Blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me by thy justification.

Blessed are You, O Lord, teach me Your commandments.

You have found the face of the saints, the source of life, and the door of heaven, so that I may also find the path of repentance. Lost sheep I am, call to me, O Savior, and save me.

The choir of saints found the source of life and the door of heaven; may I also find the path of repentance. I am the lost sheep; call me, Savior, and save me!

Blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me by thy justification.

Having preached the Lamb of God, and having been slain like lambs, and having passed away to an ageless, holy, and everlasting life, He diligently, martyrs, pray to grant us permission for our debts.

Those who proclaimed the Lamb of God and were slain as lambs, and were translated into ageless life, saints, and eternal ones, earnestly ask Him, martyrs, to grant us forgiveness of debts.

Blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me by thy justification.

Having walked the narrow and sorrowful path, having carried the cross like a yoke in life, and having followed Me by faith, come and enjoy the honors and heavenly crowns that are in store for you.

Those who have walked the narrow, sorrowful path, who have all in life lifted the cross like a yoke, and who followed Me with faith, come and enjoy what I have prepared for you: rewards and heavenly crowns!

Blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me by thy justification.

I am the image of Your ineffable glory, even though I bear the wounds of sins; be generous to Your creation, Master, and cleanse with Your compassion, and grant me the longed-for fatherland, making me a paradise dweller again.

I am an image of Your ineffable glory, although I also bear the wounds of sins: have pity on Your creation, O Lord, and cleanse it in Your mercy, and give me the desired fatherland, again making me a citizen of paradise.

Blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me by thy justification.

For of old you created me from things that do not exist, and honor me in Your Divine image, but by transgressing the commandment, you returned me to the earth from which I was not taken, and raise me up in the likeness of a hedgehog, to be recreated with ancient goodness.

In ancient times, He who created me from nothingness and honored me with Your Divine image, but for violating the commandment again returned me to the land from which I was taken! Build me to what is in Your likeness, so that I can be restored to my former beauty.

Blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me by thy justification.

Give rest, O God, to Thy servant (Thy servant, Thy servants) and make him (I, I) in paradise, where the faces of the saints, O Lord, and the righteous shine like lights; Give rest to Thy departed servant (Thy departed servant, Thy departed servant), despising all his (her, their) sins.

Give rest, O God, to Thy servants, and settle them in paradise, where the choirs of saints, O Lord, and the righteous shine like lights; give rest to Thy servants who have fallen asleep, despite all their sins.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We piously sing to the Tri-radiant One Divinity, crying out: Holy art Thou, Father without beginning, Son without beginning, and Divine Soul, enlighten us with faith in those who serve Thee, and snatch up the eternal fire.

With the Triple Light, let us reverently sing to the shining one Divinity, crying out: “Holy are You, the Father Without Beginning, the Son Equally Without Beginning and the Divine Spirit: enlighten us, who serve You with faith, and pluck us from the eternal fire.

And now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Theotokos: Rejoice, Pure One, who gave birth to God in the flesh for the salvation of all, Through whom the human race has found salvation, May we find paradise through You, pure blessed Mother of God.

Rejoice, Venerable One, who gave birth to God according to the flesh for the salvation of all, thanks to You the human race has found salvation; May we find paradise through You, Blessed and Pure Mother of God.

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, glory to You, O God. (Thrice)

Sedalen, voice 5

Peace, our Savior, with the righteous Thy servant (Thy servant, Thy servants), and this (this, this) settled in Thy courts, as it is written, despising, as good, his (her, their) sins, voluntary and involuntary, and everything that is in knowledge and not in knowledge, Lover of mankind.

Rest, O our Savior, with the righteous Thy servant and settle him in Thy courts, as it is written, not looking, as the Good One, at his voluntary and involuntary sins, and at everything he has done in knowledge and in ignorance, Lover of mankind.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Theotokos: You shone forth from the Virgin to the world, O Christ God, who showed you the sons of light, have mercy on us.

You who shone forth from the Virgin to the world, O Christ our God, and through Her revealed us as sons of Light, have mercy on us.

Kontakion, tone 8

With the saints, rest, O Christ, the soul of your servant, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but endless life.

With the saints, rest, O Christ, the soul of Your servant, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no groaning, but endless life.

Ikos

Thou art the One Immortal One, who created and created man, on earth we were created from the earth, and we will go to the other earth, as He who created me and gave me commanded: for you are the earth and you have gone to the earth, and even all men will go, creating the song of funeral lament: Alleluia .

Himself is one immortal, who created and created man: we, mortals, were created from the earth, and we will go to the same earth, as You commanded, creating me and telling me: “You are the earth, and to the earth you will go,” where we all , mortals, let us go, transforming the funeral sob into the song “Hallelujah!”

Troparion, tone 4

From the spirits of the righteous who have passed away, rest the soul of Your servant, O Savior, preserving it in the blessed life that belongs to You, O Lover of Mankind.

With the spirits of the righteous, the soul of Your servant passed away, O Savior, resting it in the blessed life that is with You, O Lover of Mankind.

In Thy chamber, O Lord, where all Thy saints rest, rest also the soul of Thy servant, for Thou art the only Lover of mankind.

In Thy resting place, O Lord, where all Thy saints find peace, rest also the soul of Thy servant, for Thou alone art the Lover of mankind.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Thou art God, who descended into hell, and loosed the bonds of the bound, and give rest to Thy servant Himself and the soul.

You are our God, who descended into hell and ended the torment of the prisoners, give rest to the soul of your servant.

And now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Theotokos: One Pure and Immaculate Virgin, who gave birth to God without a seed, pray for his soul to be saved.

O One pure and immaculate Virgin, who inexpressibly bore God in her womb, intercede for the salvation of the soul of Your servant.

In the blessed dormition, grant eternal peace, O Lord, to Thy departed servant (name), and create for him eternal memory.

In the blessed dormition, grant eternal rest, O Lord, to Thy departed servant (name), and create for him eternal memory!

Kontakion 1

Chosen Intercessor and High Priest, who laid down His soul for the salvation of the sinful world, giving us the power to be children of God and to dwell in the eternal days of Your Kingdom! Grant forgiveness and eternal joy to the deceased, for whom we pray to You: Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of Paradise to Your servant.

Ikos 1

Saint given by the Lord to the Guardian Angel, come and pray for your servant, whom you have accompanied, protected and instructed on all the paths of life, call with us to the All-Bountiful Savior: Jesus, destroy the handwriting of the sins of your servant (name). Jesus, heal his spiritual ulcers. Jesus, may there be no bitter memories of him on earth.

Jesus, for this sake have mercy on those who upset him and those who were offended by him. Jesus, cover his imperfections with the luminous robe of Your redemption. Jesus, make him glad with Your mercy. Jesus, the Ineffable, Great and Wonderful, appeared to him Himself. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 2

Like an inconsolable turtle dove, the soul flutters over the earthly vale, contemplating from the height of Divine understanding the sins and temptations of the past journey, bitterly grieving over each irrevocable day that has passed without benefit, but have mercy on Thy servant, O Master, may he enter into Thy rest, crying out: Alleluia.

Ikos 2

Even if You suffered for the whole world, if You shed tears and bloody sweat for the living and the dead, who will keep us from praying for the deceased? Imitating You, who descended even to hell, we pray for the salvation of Your servant: Jesus, Giver of life, illuminate him by Your light. Jesus, may he be one with You and the Father [and the Spirit].

Jesus, call everyone to Your vineyard, do not forget to illuminate it with Your light. Jesus, generous Distributor of eternal rewards, show him to be the son of Your palace. Jesus, return to his soul the grace-filled power of pristine purity. Jesus, may good deeds be multiplied in his name. Jesus, warm the orphaned with Your mysterious joy. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 3

Bound by the bonds of the flesh, Thy servant fell sinfully, although his spirit yearned for Thy eternal truth and holiness, but now, when the weakness of the flesh is bound by the corruption of the grave, may his soul ascend above the sun to Thee, the All-Holy, and sing the song of deliverance: Alleluia.

Ikos 3

Your supreme apostle, on a cold night by the fire, three times denied food to You, and You saved him. O One who knows the infirmity of human nature, forgive Thy servant (name) for his many forms of falling away from Thy will. Jesus, place him where there is no error. Jesus, deliver him from the painful torment of his conscience. Jesus, may the memory of his sins perish forever.

Jesus, do not remember the temptations of his youth. Jesus, cleanse him from secret iniquities. Jesus, overshadow him with the quiet light of salvation. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 4

The storms of life have passed, earthly suffering is over, we are powerless to fight with their malice, but love is strong, delivering from eternal darkness and saving everyone about whom the bold song rises to You: Alleluia.

Ikos 4

You are merciful to us without number. You are the only Savior, that we will add to the feat of saving Your love, both like Simon of Cyrene, helping You, the Almighty, to carry the Cross, so even now Your goodness desires to accomplish the salvation of loved ones with our participation. Jesus, You commanded us to bear one another’s burdens. Jesus, You are also the one who has mercy on us after death.

Jesus, the covenant of love established between the dead and the living. Jesus, may the labors of those who love serve for the salvation of Your servant (name). Jesus, hear his heartfelt cry raised through our lips. Jesus, accept his repentance in our tears. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 5

God, may You accept his dying sigh of contrition, like the prayer of a prudent thief. He died on the cross of life, let him inherit Your promises, just as he did: “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with Me in paradise,” where hosts of repentant sinners joyfully sing: Alleluia.

Ikos 5

Crucified for us, tormented for us, stretch out your hand from Your Cross, with drops of Your blood, without a trace, washing away his poured-out sins, with Your beautiful nakedness warm the naked, orphaned soul. Jesus, You knew his life before birth and You loved him. Jesus, You saw him from afar from the height of Your Cross. Jesus, You extended Your wounded embrace to him, far into the future.

Jesus, You cried out for his forgiveness on bloody Golgotha. Jesus, You meekly died for him in severe torment. Jesus, having endured the situation in the tomb, sanctify his grave rest. Risen Jesus, lift up to the Father the soul embittered by the world and saved by You. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 6

He sleeps in the eternal sleep of the grave, but his soul does not sleep, it longs for You, O Lord, it longs for You, the eternal Bridegroom. May Your words be fulfilled on the deceased: “Whoever eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood will have eternal life.” Give him to eat from the hidden manna and to sing at Your Throne: Alleluia.

Ikos 6

Death has separated you from all your neighbors: your soul has become distant, your knowledge is broken, and you alone remain close. The barriers of the flesh were destroyed, and You revealed yourself in the unapproachable greatness of the Divine with the expectation of an answer. Jesus, Love that surpasses all understanding, have mercy on Your servant. Jesus, as he moves away from You, he suffers more and more.

Jesus, forgive the unfaithfulness of his heart. Jesus, disappointed hopes gave rise to longing for You. Jesus, remember those hours when his soul trembled with Your delight. Jesus, give the deceased unearthly joy and peace. Jesus, the only faithful, unchangeable, accept him. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 7

We believe that our separation will not be long. We bury you like grain in a field; you are about to grow in another country. May the weeds of your sins perish in the grave, and may your good deeds shine forth, where the seeds of goodness bear incorruptible fruit, where holy souls sing: Alleluia.

Ikos 7

When oblivion becomes the lot of the deceased, when his image fades in hearts and time erases, along with the grave, the zeal of prayer for him, and then You will not leave him, give joy to a lonely soul. Jesus, Your love never grows cold. Jesus, Your favor is inexhaustible. Jesus, in unceasing prayers to the Church, may his sins be washed away by the offering of the Bloodless Sacrifice.

Jesus, through the intercession of all the saints, grant him the grace of prayer for the living. Jesus, in the days of our trials, accept his intercession for us. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 8

Imams pray with tears, when the memory of the deceased is painfully fresh, imams remember his name night and day, giving alms, feeding the hungry, crying from the depths of their souls: Alleluia.

Ikos 8

The seer John the Theologian contemplated at the Throne of the Lamb of God a great multitude of people clothed in white robes: these are these who have come from great tribulation. They joyfully serve God day and night, and God dwells with them, and no torment touches them. Jesus, number your servant (name) among them. Jesus, he suffered and languished much.

Jesus, all the bitter hours and painful minutes of it are known to You. Jesus, he is in sorrow and sorrow on earth, give him consolation in heaven. Jesus, give him delight from the springs of living water. Jesus, take away every tear from his eyes. Jesus, place him where the sun of Your righteousness does not scorch, but lives. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 9

The earthly journey is over, what a grace-filled transition into the world of the Spirit, what contemplation of new things unknown to the earthly world and heavenly beauties, the soul returns to its Fatherland, where the bright sun, the truth of God, enlightens those who sing: Alleluia.

Ikos 9

Even if Your reflection and trace shines on the faces of mortals, what kind of person are You? If the fruits of Your hands are so beautiful, and the earth, reflecting only Your shadow, is full of inexpressible greatness, what is Your invisible Face! Reveal Your glory to Your departed servant (name).

Jesus, sharpen his hearing to perceive Your Divinity. Jesus, sharpen his mind to the understanding of heavenly things. Jesus, may his joy be full. Jesus, strengthen him with the hope of meeting him in the abodes of the blessed. Jesus, let us feel the gracious power of funeral prayer. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 10

Our Father, accept Him who has passed away into Your Kingdom, where there is no sin and evil, where the Holy will is indestructible, where in the hosts of the purest souls and immaculate Angels Your gracious name is hallowed and your praise is fragrant: Alleluia.

Ikos 10

On that day the Angels will set up Your Throne, O Judge, and You will shine in the glory of Your Father, bringing reward to every person. Oh, then look mercifully on Your humble servant (name), say to him: “Come to My right hand.” Jesus, for God has the power to forgive sins.

Jesus, forgive his sins forgotten or hidden in shame. Jesus, let go of the iniquities of weakness and ignorance. Jesus, deliver him from the unholy depths of hellish despair. Jesus, may he inherit Your life-giving promises. Jesus, count him among the blessed of Your Father. Jesus, grant him endless bliss forever. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 11

All-Merciful Master, may the sun-shaped gates of paradise open to the deceased, may the councils of the righteous and saints, the hosts of loved ones and those who loved him, greet him with rejoicing, may Your luminous Angels rejoice over him, may he see Your Ever-Blessed Mother there, where the victorious sound is: Alleluia.

Ikos 11

Under Your breath, flowers come to life, nature is resurrected, hosts of the smallest creatures awaken, Your gaze is brighter than the spring skies, Your love, Jesus, is warmer than the rays of the sun. You have resurrected mortal human flesh from the dust of the earth to the blossoming of the eternal, incorruptible life of spring, then illuminate Your servant (name) with the light of Your mercies.

Jesus, at Your right hand is favor and life. Jesus, in Your gaze there is light and love. Jesus, deliver the deceased from eternal spiritual death. Jesus, I will fall asleep with hope, like the River Nile before the cold winter. Jesus, awaken him when the thorns of the earth are clothed with the color of eternity. Jesus, may nothing earthly darken his last sleep. Jesus, Unchangeable Happiness and the purpose of our existence. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 12

Christ! You are the Kingdom of Heaven, You are the land of the meek, You are the abode of many, You are the perfect new drink, You are the robe and crown of the saints, You are the resting bed of the saints, You are the Sweetest Jesus! Praise is due to you: Alleluia.

Ikos 12

Under the image of quiet gardens of unearthly beauty and bright, like the sun, abodes and in the splendor of heavenly chants, You revealed to us the bliss of those who love You. Jesus, may Your servant enter into Your joy. Jesus, clothe him with the radiance of the glory of the Father. Jesus, sanctify him with the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, may he hear the unspeakable song of the Cherubim. Jesus, may he ascend from glory to glory. Jesus, may he see You face to face. Jesus, All-Merciful Judge, vouchsafe the sweetness of paradise to Thy servant.

Kontakion 13

O Zhenisha the Immortal, at the midnight of sin and unbelief, coming from heaven with the Angels to judge the world! Open the doors of Your glorious palace to Your servant (name), so that the countless hosts of saints may sing forever: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Say this kontakion three times. Then the 1st ikos and 1st kontakion.

Troparions for every day - who does the Orthodox Church pray to during the week?

no comments

In the Orthodox tradition, each day of the week has a specific theme, according to which the troparia of the day are read and sung during the service. Troparion, according to the definition given to us by church science hymnography, is a short chant that in a concise form defines the essence of the holiday, describing the life of a saint, praising God or the Mother of God. The tradition of singing troparia is very ancient, therefore they are all written in Church Slavonic and approved by the liturgical Charter. It is customary to read troparia for every day, including during home prayer, adding them to the morning and evening rules, as well as to the Rule for Holy Communion.

Who are the troparia for each day of the week dedicated to?

Troparions of the day are usually called only those that are sung and read from Monday to Saturday, since, according to the Church Charter, the Sunday service stands apart from other services and does not belong to weekday services. Therefore, there are six types of troparions for each day:

  • troparion to the holy ethereal powers, tone 4;
  • Troparion to the Baptist, prophet and Forerunner of the Lord John, tone 2;
  • Troparion to the Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, tone 1;
  • Troparion to the Holy Apostles, tone 3;
  • Troparion to the Wonderworker Nicholas, tone 4;
  • Troparion to all saints, tone 2;
  • Troparion sung for the departed, tone 2.

The voices indicated in the names of the troparions of the day indicate the chant (melody) in accordance with which they should be performed. When praying at home, you can simply read them.

Special troparia for every day

In addition to the standard troparions of the day, there are also troparions to saints, whose memory is celebrated on a given day. They can be found in Orthodox calendars or on Orthodox websites containing calendars. Like troparia for every day, these chants can be added to private prayer. The exception is Lent - during it special prayers from the Lenten Triodion are read.

Read the texts of Orthodox troparions for each day of the week

On Monday (the memory of all the Heavenly Powers of the Ethereal is commemorated)

Troparion, tone 4

Heavenly armies of the Archangels, we always pray to you, we are unworthy, and with your prayers protect us with the shelter of your immaterial glory; preserving us who fall diligently and cry out: deliver us from troubles, like the rulers of the highest powers.

Kontakion, voice 2

Archangels of God, servants of the Divine glory, rulers of angels and human mentors, ask for what is useful to us and great mercy, like the Bodiless Archangels.

On Tuesday (commemoration of the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John)

Troparion, tone 2

The memory of the righteous is with praise, but the testimony of the Lord, the Forerunner, is sufficient for you: for you have shown that you are truly the most honorable of the prophets, as if you were worthy to baptize the Preached One in the streams. Moreover, having suffered for the truth, rejoicing, you preached the good news to those in hell of God revealed in the flesh, taking away the sin of the world and giving us great mercy.

Kontakion, voice 2

Prophet of God and Forerunner of grace, your head, like the most sacred thorn from the earth, is always acceptable for healing, for again, as before, you preach repentance in the world.

On Wednesday and Friday (veneration of the Holy Cross is performed)

Troparion, tone 1

Save, O Lord, Thy people and bless Thy inheritance, granting victories against resistance, and preserving Thy residence through Thy Cross.

Kontakion, tone 4

Having ascended to the Cross by will, grant to Your namesake new residence Your bounty, O Christ God; make us glad in Thy power, giving us victories as adversaries, aid to those who have Thy, weapons of peace, invincible victory.

On Thursday (the memory of the Holy Apostles and St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra of Lycia, wonderworker is celebrated)

Troparion to the Apostles, Tone 3

Holy apostles, pray to the Merciful God that He may grant remission of sins to our souls.

Troparion to the Saint, tone 4

The rule of faith and the image of meekness, self-control, the teacher, show you to your flock as things are true; For this reason, you have gained high humility, rich in poverty, Father Hierarch Nicholas, pray to Christ God to save our souls.

Kontakion to the Apostles, tone 2

Firm and divinely preached preachers, the top of Thy apostles, O Lord, Thou hast accepted into the enjoyment of Thy good things and peace; For you have accepted illness and death more than all fruitfulness, the only one who knows the heart.

Kontakion to the Saint, tone 3

In Mireh, the Holy One, the priest appeared: You have fulfilled the Gospel, having fulfilled the Gospel, and laid down your soul for your people, and saved the innocent from death; For this reason, you have been sanctified, as the great hidden place of God’s grace.

On Saturday (the memory of all saints, known and unknown, is celebrated, as well as the commemoration of all deceased Orthodox Christians)

Troparion to the Saints, Tone 2

Apostles, martyrs and prophets, saints, reverends and righteous ones, who have accomplished a good deed and kept the faith, who have boldness towards the Savior, pray for us to be saved, we pray, for our souls.

Troparion for the Repose, Tone 2

Remember, O Lord, that Thy servants are Good, and forgive any sins in life; no one is sinless except You, who can give peace to the departed.

Kontakion for the Repose, tone 8

With the saints, rest, O Christ, the souls of Thy servant, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but endless life.

Kontakion to the Saints, tone 8

As the firstfruits of nature are brought to the Creator of creation by the universe, O Lord, God-bearing martyrs; by those prayers in the deep world, keep Thy Church, Thy residence, O Theotokos, O Omni-merciful One.

Text of the prayer “Alive in the help of the Most High”

Living in the help of the Most High, he will settle in the shelter of the Heavenly God.

Says the Lord: Thou art my Protector and my Refuge, my God, and I trust in Him.

Yako Toy will deliver you from the snare of the trap, and from rebellious words.

His cloak will cover you and you will hope under His wing: His truth will surround you with weapons.

Do not be afraid from the fear of the night, from the arrow flying in the days.

From things that pass away in the darkness, from clots and the midday demon.

Thousands will fall from your country, and darkness will fall at your right hand; he won't come close to you.

Look at your eyes and see the reward of sinners.

For You, O Lord, are my hope. You have made the Most High your refuge.

Evil will not come to you. And the wound will not come close to your body.

As His Angel commanded you, keep you in all your ways.

They will take you in their arms, but not when you dash your foot against a stone.

Tread on the asp and the basilisk, and cross the lion and the serpent.

For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver; I will cover, and because I have known My name.

He will call to Me, and I will hear him: I am with him in sorrow, I will destroy him, and I will glorify him. I will fill him with long days, and show him My salvation.

Bless the sun and the moon, the heavenly stars of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless all the rain and dew, all the souls of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless the fire and the pitch, the cold and the heat of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless the dew and frost, lady and filth of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless the mountains and dreams, the nights and days of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless the light and darkness, lightning and clouds of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless the earth, the mountains and hills, and all that grows therein, sing to the Lord, praise Him and exalt Him forever.

Bless the springs, the seas and rivers, the whales, and everything that moves in the waters of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

on 8: Bless all the birds of the sky, the beasts and all the livestock of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless the sons of mankind, may Israel bless the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

on 6: Bless the priests of the Lord, servants of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless the hearts and souls of the righteous, reverent and humble with the heart of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

on 4: Bless Hananiah, Azariah, Mishael the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Bless the Apostles, prophets and martyrs of the Lord, sing and exalt Him forever.

Let us bless the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Lord.

Now and ever, and unto ages of ages, amen.

We praise, we bless, we worship the Lord, singing and exalting ourselves to all ages.

SONG NINE.

Song of the Mother of God, from Luke of the Holy Gospel.

The Mother of God also sings of the Son.

We magnify the Mother of God in songs.

My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.

As I have looked upon the humility of My servants, behold, from now on all my generations will bless Me.

For the Mighty One has done unto Me greatness, and holy is His name, and His mercy from generation to generation to those who fear Him.

Create power with Your arm, squander their hearts with proud thoughts.

Dethrone the mighty from the throne, and exalt the humble, fill the hungry with good things, and let go of the rich.

Israel will receive His servant, remember his mercies, like a word to our fathers, Abraham and his seed, even unto the ages.

To each verse we repeat: The most honorable Cherub:

Zechariah blesses the child's birth.

Prayer of Zechariah, father of the Predotechev.

Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and brought deliverance to His people.

And He raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David:

As His prophet spoke from the mouth of the holy ones from the beginning of time:

Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all those who hate us:

Show mercy to our fathers, and remember Your holy covenant,

on 8: The oath that we swear to Abraham our father, to give to us, without fear, from the hand of our enemy, having been delivered,

To serve Him in honor and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

on 6: And you, as a child, were called a prophet of the Most High: for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,

Give the understanding of salvation to His people, for the forgiveness of their sin, mercy for the sake of the mercy of our God.

on 4: In the lower places, the East will visit us from on high, appearing in the darkness and canopy of death to those who sit,

Direct our feet on the path of peace.

Glory, and now:

Prayer for a deceased Christian

Remember, O Lord our God, in the faith and hope of the eternal life of Your departed servant, our brother (name), and as Good and Lover of mankind, forgiving sins and consuming untruths, weaken, forsake and forgive all his voluntary and involuntary sins, deliver him eternal torment and fire of Gehenna, and grant him the communion and pleasure of Your eternal good things, prepared for those who love You:

Even if you sin, do not depart from You, and undoubtedly in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, God glorify You in the Trinity, faith, and the Unity in the Trinity and the Trinity in Unity, Orthodox even until your last breath of confession.

Be merciful to him, and faith, even in You instead of deeds, and with Your saints, as You give generous rest: for there is no man who will live and not sin. But You are the One besides all sin, and Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and You are the One God of mercies and generosity, and love for mankind, and to You we send glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

In Russian

Remember, O Lord our God, (according to our) faith and hope for eternal life, Your departed servant (name of the deceased).

And, since you are Good and Humane, forgive (him) his sins, neglect self-deception (him), diminish, free, forgive and forgive him all his sins, consciously and unconsciously committed, deliver him from endless punishment and fiery punishment, and grant him participation to Your eternal blessings, which are prepared for those who love You and the joy from them:

even though he sinned, he did not retreat from You (he did not betray); and, undoubtedly, believed in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit - God, glorified (by us all) as the Trinity; and until his last breath (he) adhered to this.

Therefore, be merciful, and (with this) faith in You replace his works and place him among Your saints: after all, there is no person who lives a life without sin. It is You alone who are like that - Sinless and Your truth is absolute, You are the One and Only God - merciful, generous and truly loving us people. And (we) send up glory to You (from our hearts) - as the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit - now, as before - and always, forever. Amen (that is, I say what is due according to Your law).
