Prayers for every day that protect against all bad things, including diseases

Most people are designed in such a way that they tend to remember God only during difficult periods of life. For many, this is the starting point on the path to faith - after all, the Lord is able to turn everything into good. Psalm 53 represents King David's reflection in response to betrayal. At that time in his biography, the future leader of the Jews was hiding from King Saul, who dreamed of destroying his rival.

About the author About the book

Text of prayer Psalm 53

The text of the holy hymn is read in the church during the service. The traditional Old Church Slavonic version is used predominantly. It is believed to help bring the believer closer to the kingdom of God. But it is difficult to understand the meaning of such a text; it is better to first turn to the version translated into Russian and only then proceed to memorize the traditional prayer.

Prayers for every day that protect against all bad things, including diseases

When you wake up in the morning, mentally say the following words:

“In the hearts is the Lord God, in front is the Holy Spirit; help me start, live and end the day with you.”

When going on a long journey or just for some business, it’s good to mentally say:

“My angel, come with me: you are in front, I am behind you.” And the Guardian Angel will help you in any endeavor.

To improve your life, it is good to read the following prayer daily:

“Merciful Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ and the Power of the Holy Spirit, save, preserve and have mercy on me, the servant of God (name).

Take away the damage, the evil eye and bodily pain from me forever. Merciful Lord, cast out the demon from me, the servant of God. Merciful Lord, heal me, servant of God (name). Amen".

If you are worried about your loved ones, say the following prayer until calm comes:

“Lord, save, preserve, have mercy (names of loved ones). Everything will be fine for them!”

If you have anxiety in your soul and it seems to you that everything in life is not working out the way you want, or you don’t have enough strength and confidence to continue what you started, read these prayers.

They will fill you with the energy of faith and prosperity, surround you with heavenly power and protect you from all adversity. They will give you strength and confidence.

Prayer for the coming sleep

Lord our God, who have sinned in these days in word, deed and thought, as He is Good and Lover of Mankind, forgive me. Grant me a peaceful and serene sleep, send Your guardian angel, covering and keeping me from all evil.

For You are the Guardian of our souls and bodies, and we send glory to You, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

"King of Heaven"

Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.

"To the Most Holy Theotokos"

“O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, Heavenly Queen, save and have mercy on us, Your sinful servants;

from vain slander and all misfortune, misfortune and sudden death, have mercy in the daytime hours, morning and evening, and at all times save us - standing, sitting, walking on every path, sleeping in the night hours, provide, protect and cover, protect.

History of writing

David did not want to oppose King Saul. The future ruler was an ordinary shepherd until chance made him anointed by God. Saul was angry with David and decided to destroy him. At that moment, he turned away from God, and the former shepherd had no choice but to flee away from Jerusalem, in fear of losing his life.

Psalm 53 tells about the events when the Lord informed David that Saul had become an atheist and now wants to destroy him. The future prophet does not see a better solution than to flee to the Ziph desert, in the hope that the angry king of Judah will not find him there.

Luck could have turned away from the future ruler, if not for a lucky chance. When Saul's troops overtook the fugitive, at that moment a messenger appeared, reporting that the Philistines were preparing a new, more serious blow. The king had no choice but to withdraw his troops from the desert, and David began to thank the mercy of the Almighty.

In moments when it seemed that everything was predetermined, one must not become despondent and continue to pray to God. The Lord will hear your tremulous and fervent request and will definitely help. It is this meaning that the author puts into the chant. Psalm 53 refers specifically to those prayers when you need help and support from Higher powers in the fight against life's difficulties.

53:1 To the head of the choir. On stringed [instruments]. David's teaching

Again, David's teaching, not just a song. In this form, it is probably easier to perceive what is difficult to understand.

53:2 when Ziph came and said to Saul, “Is not David hiding with us?”

David wants to teach how to behave in situations where life is in danger and practically no one can be trusted: even among those you know, everyone is just waiting for you to fall. David was hunted by Saul and well-wishers - king-pleasers were always with Saul to curry favor with the king. They were found this time too, and reported where David was hiding. And what was the first thing David did when he learned of the danger?

53:3,4 God! Save me in Your name, and judge me in Your power. 4 God! hear my prayer, listen to the words of my mouth,

First of all, he turned to God, because he understood that no one like God could protect from evil if He wanted to protect. David asks God not just to protect, but to JUDGE him: if he is guilty and wicked in the eyes of God, then David is ready for any outcome, because God is not obliged to protect the wicked. And if God finds favor in him, then it costs Him nothing to protect David.

53:5 for strangers have risen up against me, and the mighty seek my soul; they do not have God before them.

David still, in the depths of his soul, hoped that those who persecute him do not have God in them if they do this to him. David himself not only had God in his heart, but also loved Him. Therefore, he relied on help from God in all his difficulties.

53:6,7 Behold, God is my helper; The Lord strengthens my soul. 7 He will repay the evil of my enemies; By Your truth I will destroy them.

David does not ask God, his Helper, to destroy his enemies with sword or fire, but asks
truth
, that is, to repay them with justice.
And the confidence that God would certainly sort everything out and with everyone strengthened David and gave him strength to live on, if possible, resisting evil. 53:8,9 I will earnestly sacrifice to You, I will glorify Your name, O Lord, for it is good, 9 For You have delivered me from all troubles, and my eye has looked upon my enemies.
David is so confident of a successful outcome and that even the denunciation of these spiteful critics to Saul will not harm him that he spoke of his salvation as an accomplished fact: my eye looked on my enemies. David’s confidence that God would certainly protect him from mortal troubles (for it was not yet time for him to perish, there were many things to do for the good of the Lord and the people of God) can even be envied in a good way.

Why do they read Psalm 53?

Refers to that type of prayer when grief overcomes a person and the Lord’s help is required. Prayer will help a person cope with illnesses, eradicate despondency and overcome difficulties. No matter how difficult it is, no matter what trials the Lord sends us, we must not lose faith in Him and sincerely hope for His forgiveness. King David did not deny the Lord in his time of need and was rewarded for his faithfulness. Remember that God's judgment is always honest, and decisions are unyielding. The righteous will be saved, the sinners will be punished.

The temple is the house of God, but there are always times when it is impossible to visit the church. In this case, the psalm can be read at home. But for this you need an icon on which you will focus all your attention, renouncing worldly concerns in favor of dialogue with God. During the ritual, free your head from extraneous thoughts, be sincere in your intentions.

Interpretation

In the text we can clearly trace two hypostases of good and evil, presented in the form of the atheist Saul and the meek David, under the protection of the Lord. Every situation will vary, but if you need help, be sincere as you read Psalm 53.

At the beginning, the caption to the song exposes the betrayal of the inhabitants of the Ziph desert, who betrayed David and gave him to be torn to pieces by Saul.

Verse 1. Mortal danger tipped the balance of David's trust in God's direction. At this moment, the future king rejected his earthly nature and entrusted his fate to the Almighty.

Verses 2-3 tell how David treated the Ziphites. The future king prays for his protection, acknowledging the Lord in his heart. The prophet realizes that sinners will fall under the yoke of punishment and the righteous will be saved.

Verse 4-5. Here the future king begins to understand that God did not abandon him and saved him in a moment of fear and severe sorrow.

Verse 6-7. The miraculous salvation does not remain forgotten. For David, a new life begins, in which there is love for the Lord and his blessings. The future prophet decides to glorify Him throughout his life, because the path of the king is now connected with His will.

Interpretation of Psalm 53

1 To the director of the choir. On string instruments. David's teaching

2 When Ziph came and said to Saul, “Is David not hiding with us?”

3 God! Save me in Your name, and judge me in Your power.

4 God! hear my prayer, listen to the words of my mouth,

5 For strangers have risen up against me, and the mighty are seeking my life; they do not have God before them.

6 Behold, God is my helper; The Lord strengthens my soul.

7 He will repay the evil of my enemies; By Your truth I will destroy them.

8 I will earnestly sacrifice to You; I will glorify Your name, O Lord, for it is good,

9 For you have delivered me from all troubles, and my eye has looked upon my enemies.

  • Verse 1 shows the hypocritical spirit of the Ziphites, they came to Saul and did not openly say that they had David, they were afraid of both kings, and wanted to serve both.

This verse teaches Christians to distinguish between evil and holy, the psalmist praises the Lord in songs. The end means the Kingdom of God, eternal life, the psalmist hoped in it when the Ziphites, filled with wickedness, reported it to Saul.

David's victory echoes the victory of the Orthodox Church over enemy attacks on it.

  • Verse 3 shows the king's attitude towards the Creator as the Savior of men for eternal life. It is vanity of vanities if Christians care only about earthly salvation, getting out of existing problems, but at the same time they do not care about what awaits us in the future life. David declares that only in God's name is salvation and through His judgment will salvation come.

The king is not afraid of God’s judgment, he sincerely repented of what he had done, and boldly surrenders himself into the hands of the Creator.

  • In verses 4-5, the psalmist cries out in desperation to the Creator, begging Him to hear.

Important!
People who do not follow God follow Satan, so the Creator does not hear their prayers. The sincere prayer of hope was instantly heard by the Almighty. There is no weapon in the world that is stronger than the sincere prayer of faith. The king knows that the Creator is in charge of everything that happens to him; David emphasizes his weakness, saying that strangers, strong in strength, attacked the small army of the righteous.

  • The song of praise and confidence that salvation will surely come from God sounds in verses 6,7.

In Psalm 53, David prays to God not to leave him and deprive him of salvation.

Reading these words, we mentally become witnesses to the fact that help came on time. God is never late. Sometimes He hesitates for our good.

  • In verses 8-9, David emphasizes that he of his own free will sacrifices his broken spirit, praise, and heart to God. There is no higher grace on earth than to glorify the Creator, and then sadness goes away, destruction awaits the enemies.

More psalms:

  • Psalm 89
  • Psalm 19
  • Psalm 63

No matter how strong the enemy is, the victor under the Lord's protection will see victory with his own eyes.

Important! There are many enemies in the life of Christians, such as illness, financial crises, family troubles, but everything falls into place when sincere praise comes from a pure heart.
