The miraculous life of the saint

From that time on, she became barren, which meant that she could no longer have another son like Nicholas - the conqueror of nations. He was supposed to be the first and the last.
Birth of Nikolai Ugodnik
His chosenness of God was noticeable to those around him from birth. During the Sacrament of Baptism, the baby stood on his feet on his own without anyone's support for three hours. On fasting days - Wednesday and Friday - the baby refused to accept mother's milk. Having matured a little, the boy spent whole days in the temple of God.
After the death of his parents, Nikolai inherited a large inheritance, which he donated to charity. And the future saint himself decided to devote the rest of his life to desert solitude, prayer and communication with God. But the wish was not destined to come true: the Heavenly Voice directed Nicholas to return to the city, serve the people and bring the Word of God to the world.
Returning to his homeland, Nicholas began to help his uncle, the Bishop of Patara. He was respected and loved by his flock; people were amazed at the wisdom of the “young old man.” His sincere sermons pierced people's hearts with God's Light.
One day, while traveling to the Holy Land on a ship, a terrible disaster raged. It seemed that there was no chance of escape. But Nikolai Ugodnik prayed to the Almighty and the strong sea storm subsided, the ship was not damaged, and the crew and passengers were saved. A young man who fell from a high mast and fell to his death was revived by the young Wonderworker.
Life of Nicholas the Wonderworker
Before God's chosen one in Jerusalem, the doors of a locked church opened of their own accord.
Soon Bishop John of Myra of Lycia died. Nicholas was chosen as his successor, but this event was preceded by a miracle. The Council of Bishops could not decide on the candidacy of the future primate. But on the night before the Council, the Most Pure Virgin Mary appeared to the presiding officer in a dream and indicated the name of God’s chosen bishop. The Mother of God appeared to Nicholas himself along with her Son. They placed an omophorion on him and handed him the Holy Gospel - a symbol of episcopal power.
A similar thing happened to the Wonderworker again. During the 1st Ecumenical Council, the saint exposed the teachings of the evil Arius and his heresy, for which he was defrocked and imprisoned. And again the Virgin Mary and her Son brought justice: They appeared in the cell and presented the prisoner with an omophorion and the Gospel. This phenomenon happened in a dream vision to several members of the Council, and the next morning they hurried to the arrested man. Seeing in reality what had been revealed to them in a dream, the accusers freed Nicholas from prison and reinstated him.
In old age, when the saint was more than 70 years old, he completed his earthly life. The transition to eternal life was accompanied by the reading of psalms and great joy. The saint departed to the Lord, accompanied by Angels, and was met in Heaven by many saints.
Many people attended the burial ceremony. The honest body was laid in the local cathedral. Miracles happened at the relics of Nicholas, those who asked received what they wanted, and the sick were healed from the fragrant healing world that exuded the mortal relics of the saint.
