Following to Holy Communion

For in Thy Fearful One I stand before the Judgment, O Christ God, without respect of persons, and raise condemnation, and speak out against the evil things I have done; This day, before the day of my condemnation even comes, at Your holy Altar I stand before You and before Your terrible and holy Angels, bowed by my conscience, I offer my evil one and without lawful deed, reveal this and convict. See, Lord, my humility, and forgive all my sins; see how the head of my iniquity has multiplied more than the hair of my head. Who hasn’t done evil? What sin have you not committed? What evil have you not imagined in my soul? For I have already committed deeds: fornication, adultery, pride, arrogance, reproach, blasphemy, idle talk, inappropriate laughter, drunkenness, guttural rage, gluttony, hatred, envy, love of money, covetousness , covetousness, pride, love of glory, theft, untruth, ill-gain, jealousy , slander, lawlessness; I have made every feeling and every sense of mine desecrated, corrupted, and useless, having become a workman of the devil in every way. And we know, Lord, that my iniquities have exceeded my head; but the multitude of Your bounties is immeasurable, and the mercy of Your kindness is ineffable, and there is no sin, conquering Your love for mankind. Moreover, most wonderful King, kindly Lord, surprise me, a sinner, with Your mercy, show Your goodness the power and show the strength of Your gracious mercy, and when you turn, accept I am a sinner. Receive me as you received the prodigal, the robber, the harlot. Accept me, who have sinned against You immeasurably in word, in deed, in placeless lust, and in wordless thought. And just as at the tenth hour you have come to accept those who have done nothing worthy, so also accept me, a sinner: for we have sinned many and have become defiled, and are saddened by Your Holy Spirit, and are bitter Your humane womb in deed, word, and thought, in the night and in the days, both manifestly and unmanifestly, willingly and unwillingly. And we know that you have presented my sins before me as such as I have committed, and have expropriated the word with me about those who have sinned unforgivenly. But Lord, Lord, do not reprove me with Thy righteous judgment, nor with Thy wrath, nor punish me with Thy wrath; Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am not only weak, but also Your creation. You, Lord, have established Your fear in me, and I have created evil in Your sight. You alone have sinned, but I pray to You, do not enter into judgment with Your servant. If you see lawlessness, Lord, Lord, who will stand? For I am the abyss of sin, and I am not worthy, below I am content to look and see the heights of heaven, from the multitude of my sins, of which there is no number: every kind of atrocity and deceit, and the wiles of Satan, and corruption , resentment, advice to sin and other countless passions are not destitute of me. Surely sins have not been corrupted? The kiimi were not kept evil? Every sin I have committed, every uncleanness I have put into my soul, is not needed by You, my God, or by man. Who will raise me up, in the face of evil and a fraction of fallen sin? Lord my God, I have trusted in You; If I have hope of salvation, if Your love for mankind overcomes the multitude of my iniquities, be my Savior, and according to Your generosity and Your mercy, weaken, forsake, forgive me all, Elika Ti. sins, for my soul is filled with many evils, and there is no salvation in me hope. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and do not reward me according to my deeds, and do not judge me according to my deeds, but convert me, intercede, deliver my soul from the evils and cruel perceptions that grow with it. . Save me for the sake of Thy mercy, that where sin abounds, Thy grace abounds; and I will praise and glorify You always, all the days of my life. For You are the God of those who repent and the Savior of those who sin; and we send glory to You with Your Beginning Father and Your Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayers for Holy Communion

Prayers read in the evening.

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, present everywhere and filling everything, Treasury of blessings and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth and save, O Kind One, our souls.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us (three times).

Glory to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse our sins, Master, forgive our iniquities, Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for Your name’s sake.

Lord, have mercy (three times).

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Lord's Prayer.

Our Father who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Psalm 22.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I will lack for nothing: He makes me lie down in green pastures and leads me beside still waters, He strengthens my soul, He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff - they calm me. Thou hast prepared a table before me in the sight of my enemies; anointed my head with oil; my cup is overflowing. Thus, may Thy goodness and mercy accompany me all the days of my life, and I will abide in the house of the Lord many days.

Psalm 23rd.

The earth is the Lord's and the things that fill it, the universe and everything that lives in it, for He founded it on the seas and established it on the rivers. Who will ascend to the mountain of the Lord, or who will stand in His holy place? The one whose hands are innocent and whose heart is pure, who has not sworn with his soul in vain and has not sworn falsely to his neighbor, will receive a blessing from the Lord and mercy from God, his Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek Him, those who seek Your face, O God of Jacob! Lift up your heights, O gates, and be lifted up, O eternal doors, and the King of glory will enter! Who is this King of glory? - The Lord is mighty and strong, the Lord is mighty in battle. Lift up your heights, O gates, and be lifted up, O eternal doors, and the King of glory will enter! Who is this King of glory? - The Lord of hosts, He is the king of glory.

Psalm 115.

I believed and therefore said: I am very broken. I said in my frenzy: every man is a liar. What shall I render to the Lord for all that He has given me? I will accept the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord before all His people. The death of His saints is honorable before the Lord. God! I am Your servant. I am Your servant and the son of Your handmaid. You have broken my bonds. I will offer you a sacrifice of praise and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord before all His people, in the courts of the house of the Lord, among you, O Jerusalem!

Tropari.

Forgive my iniquities, O Lord, born of a Virgin, and cleanse my heart, making it a temple for Your most pure Body and Blood, and do not tear me away from Your face, O immeasurably merciful One!

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. To partake of Thy holy things, how dare I, unworthy? If I dare to approach You with those who are worthy, my clothes expose me, because they are not festive, and my sinful soul will deserve condemnation. Cleanse, Lord, the filth of my soul and save me, O Lover of Mankind.

And now and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen. My many, many sins, Mother of God, expose me; I resort to You, O Pure One, asking for salvation; visit my weary soul, and pray to Thy Son and our God to give me forgiveness of all the evil I have done, O Blessed One.

On Holy Pentecost it is read.

While the glorious disciples were enlightened by washing at the evening, the wicked Judas, darkened by the disease of the love of money, betrayed You, the righteous Judge, to the lawless judges. Look, collector of estates, at the one who hanged himself because of them. Avoid the insatiable soul that dares to do such a thing to the Teacher.

Lord, merciful to all, glory to You!

Psalm 50.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, blot out my iniquities. Wash me from my iniquity many times, and cleanse me from my sin, for I am aware of my iniquities, and my sin is always before me. You, You alone, have I sinned and done evil in Your sight, so that You are righteous in Your judgment and pure in Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sin. Behold, You loved the truth in my heart and showed me Your wisdom within me. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness, and the bones broken by You will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation and strengthen me with the sovereign Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your ways, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation, and my tongue will praise Your righteousness. God! Open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise: for You do not desire sacrifice, I would give it; You do not favor burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; You will not despise a contrite and humble heart, O God. Bless Zion, O Lord, according to Your good pleasure; build up the walls of Jerusalem: then the sacrifices of righteousness, the heave-hoist and the burnt offering will be acceptable to You; Then they will place bullocks on Your altar.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, prayers for the sake of Thy Most Pure Mother, hear me, Thy sinful and unworthy servant.
Lord, in the mercy of Your power my child, have mercy and save him for Your name’s sake. Lord, forgive him all the sins, voluntary and involuntary, that he committed before You. Lord, guide him on the true path of Your commandments and enlighten him and enlighten him with Your light of Christ, for the salvation of the soul and the healing of the body. Lord, bless him in the house, around the house, at school, in the field, at work and on the road, and in every place of Your possession. Lord, protect him under the shelter of Your Saints from a flying bullet, arrow, knife, sword, poison, fire, flood, from a deadly ulcer (atomic rays) and from vain death. Lord, protect him from visible and invisible enemies, from all troubles, evils and misfortunes. Lord, heal him from all diseases, cleanse him from all filth (wine, tobacco, drugs) and ease his mental suffering and sorrow. Lord, grant him the grace of Your Holy Spirit for many years of life, health and chastity. Lord, increase and strengthen his mental abilities and physical strength. Lord, give him Your blessing for a godly family life and godly procreation. Lord, grant me, Thy unworthy and sinful servant, a parental blessing on my child at this time of morning, day, evening and night for the sake of Thy name, for Thy Kingdom is eternal, omnipotent and omnipotent. Amen. Prayer of parents for the blessing of children
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, bless, sanctify, preserve my child by the power of Your Life-giving Cross. Lord Jesus Christ, awaken Your mercy on my children (names), keep them under Your roof, cover them from all evil lust, drive away from them every enemy and adversary, open their ears and the eyes of their hearts, grant tenderness and humility to their hearts. Lord, we are all Your creation, have pity on my children (names) and turn them to repentance. Save, O Lord, and have mercy on my children (names) and enlighten their minds with the light of reason of Your Gospel and guide them on the path of Your commandments and teach them, O Savior, to do Your will, for You are our God. Holy Father, Eternal God, from You comes every gift or every good. I diligently pray to You for the children whom Your grace has given me. You gave them life, revived them with an immortal soul, revived them with holy baptism, so that in accordance with Your will they would inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, preserve them according to Your goodness until the end of their lives. Sanctify them with Your truth, may Your name be hallowed in them. Help me, by Your grace, to educate them for the glory of Your name and for the benefit of others, give me the necessary means for this: patience and strength. Lord, enlighten them with the light of Your Wisdom, so that they love You with all their soul, with all their thoughts, plant in their hearts fear and disgust from all lawlessness, so that they may walk in Your commandments, adorn their souls with chastity, hard work, patience, honesty, protect them with truth from slander , vanity, abomination, sprinkle with the dew of Thy grace, that they may prosper in virtues and holiness, and may they increase in Thy good will, in love and piety. May the Guardian Angel always be with them and protect their youth from vain thoughts, from the temptations of this world and from all evil slander. If, when they sin before You, Lord, do not turn Your face away from them, but be merciful to them, arouse repentance in their hearts according to the multitude of Your bounties, cleanse their sins and do not deprive Your blessings, but give them everything necessary for their salvation, preserving them from all illness, danger, troubles and sorrows, overshadowing them with Your mercy all the days of this life. God, I pray to You, give me joy and joy about my children and grant me the ability to appear with them at Your Last Judgment, with shameless boldness to say: “Here I am and the children whom You gave me, Lord. Amen". Let us glorify Your All-Holy Name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

To the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John Troparion, tone 2: The memory of the righteous is with praise, but the testimony of the Lord is sufficient for you, Forerunner: for you have shown in truth and the most honorable of the prophets, as in the streams of baptism you were worthy of the Preached One. At the same time, having suffered for the truth, rejoicing, you preached the good news to those in hell of God revealed in the flesh, taking away the sin of the world and giving us great mercy, Kontakion, voice 5: The Glorious Beheading of the Forerunner, there was a certain Divine sight, and even to those in hell the coming of the Savior was preached; Let Herodia weep, having asked for lawless murder: for he did not love the law of God, nor the living age, but a feigned, temporary one. Prayer: To the Baptist of Christ, preacher of repentance, do not despise me who repents, but copulating with the heavenly ones, pray to the Lady for me, unworthy, sad, weak and sad, fallen into many troubles, burdened by the stormy thoughts of my mind: for I am a den of evil deeds, have no end to sinful customs; For my mind is nailed down by earthly things. What will I do, I do not know, and to whom will I resort, so that my soul will be saved? Only to you, Saint John, give the same name of grace, as you are before the Lord, according to the Mother of God, greater than all who are born, for you were considered worthy to touch the top of the King Christ, who takes away the sins of the world, the Lamb of God: pray for Him for my sinful soul, so from now on , at the first ten hour, I will bear a good burden and receive compensation with the last. To her, the Baptist of Christ, the honest Forerunner, the ultimate prophet, the first martyr in grace, the teacher of fasters and hermits, the teacher of purity and the close friend of Christ, I pray to you, I resort to you, do not reject me from your intercession, but raise me up, having fallen into many sins; renew my soul with repentance, as with the second baptism, of which you are the ruler: with baptism you wash away sin, and preach repentance for the cleansing of every bad deed; Cleanse me with the sins of the defiled and force me to enter, even if nothing bad enters, into the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen.

Prayer to the Guardian Angel Holy Guardian Angel of my children (names), cover them with your protection from the arrows of the demon, from the eyes of the seducer and keep their hearts in angelic purity. Amen.

Prayers to the Mother of God O Most Holy Lady Virgin Mother of God, save and preserve under Your shelter my children (names), all youths, young women and infants, baptized and nameless and carried in their mother’s womb. Cover them with the robe of Your motherhood, keep them in the fear of God and in obedience to their parents, pray to my Lord and Your Son to grant them what is useful for their salvation. I entrust them to Your maternal supervision, for You are the Divine Protection of Your servants. Mother of God, introduce me to the image of Your heavenly motherhood. Heal the mental and physical wounds of my children (names) caused by my sins. I entrust my child entirely to my Lord Jesus Christ and Your, Most Pure, heavenly protection. Amen. From the convent in Shuya, Ivanovo region.

Prayer for children, Rev. Ambrose of Optina, Lord, You alone weigh everything, you can do everything, and you want everyone to be saved and to come to the mind of Truth. Enlighten my children (names) with the knowledge of Thy truth and Thy Holy will and strengthen them to walk according to Thy commandments and have mercy on me, a sinner. Holy Great Martyr Barbara
Prayer: Holy, glorious and all-praiseworthy Great Martyr of Christ Barbara! Gathered today in your Divine temple, people and the race of your relics venerate and kiss with love, your suffering as a martyr and in their passion-maker Christ Himself, who gave you, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him, with pleasing praises, we pray to you , the well-known desire of our intercessor: pray with us and for us, God who beseeches Him from His compassion, may He mercifully hear us asking for His goodness, and not leave us with all the needful petitions for salvation and life, and grant a Christian death to our belly, painless, shameless, I will give peace, I will partake of the Divine Mysteries, and He will give His great mercy to everyone in every place, in every sorrow and situation that requires His love for mankind and help, so that by the grace of God and your warm intercession, with soul and body always abiding in health, we glorify God, wondrous in His saints Israel, who does not remove His help from us always, now and ever and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer of Simeon the New Theologian

Preparation for rituals includes the mandatory reading of prayers. They provide an opportunity to plunge into an atmosphere of awe and feel it with all your soul. Before confession, you can say the prayer of Simeon the New Theologian.

In Old Church Slavonic:

God and Lord of all, who has the power of every breath and soul, is the only one who can heal me! Hear the prayer of me, the accursed one, and the serpent nesting in me, consume by the influx of the All-Holy and Life-Giving Spirit. And grant me, poor and naked, all virtues, to fall at the feet of my holy (spiritual) father with tears, and draw his holy soul to mercy, to have mercy on me. And grant, Lord, in my heart humility and good thoughts, befitting a sinner who has agreed to repent to You; and may not completely abandon the one soul that united with You and confessed You, and instead of the world chose and preferred You. Be aware, Lord, that I want to be saved, even if my evil custom is an obstacle: but what is possible for You, O Lord, is all that is possible; what is impossible is from man. Amen.

In modern Russian:

God and Lord of all! He who alone has the power of every breath and soul can heal me, hear the prayer of the accursed me, and consume the serpent nesting in me through the influx of the All-Holy and Life-Giving Spirit, killing me. And to me, poor and naked of all virtues, vouchsafe to fall at the feet of my holy (spiritual) father with tears, and draw his holy soul to mercy, to have mercy on me. And grant, O Lord, in my heart humility and good thoughts, befitting a sinner who has agreed to repent to You, and may you not in the end abandon the one soul that united with You and confessed You, and chose and preferred You instead of the world: for we know, Lord, that I want to be saved, even if my evil custom is an obstacle: but it is possible for You, Master, the essence of everything, what is impossible is of man. Amen.

Prayer is our conversation with God. We have everything from God and nothing is our own: life, abilities, health, food - everything is given to us by God. Therefore, in joy and sorrow, and when we need something, we must turn to God in prayer. You can pray to God everywhere, because God is everywhere: in the house, in the temple, and on the road. A Christian is obliged to pray daily, morning and evening, before and after meals, before starting and at the end of any task.

During prayer, we must direct our mind so that it does not think about anything extraneous, and so that our heart desires only one thing, how best to pray and please God.

To express our feelings towards God and His saints, the Church has given us various prayers. Below we present the prayers that every Christian should know from an early age.

Thy Mystery Supper, today, Son of God, accept me as a partaker: I will not tell the secret to Thy enemies, nor will I kiss Thee like Judas, but like a thief I will confess Thee: remember me, O Lord, in Thy kingdom.

May the communion of Your Holy Mysteries be not for judgment or condemnation for me, Lord, but for the healing of soul and body.

Lord, I believe and acknowledge before everyone that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the Living God, who came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the first. And I also believe that this is Your most pure Body and this is Your precious Blood. Therefore, I ask You: have mercy on me and forgive me my sins, voluntary and involuntary, which I have committed in word or deed, intentionally or out of ignorance, and grant me, without condemnation, to partake of Your most pure Mysteries for the forgiveness of sins and receiving eternal life.

God's Son! accept me today as a participant in Your Last Supper, because I will not reveal the secret to Your enemies and will not give You a (treacherous) kiss, like Judas, but. like a thief, I say that I believe in You (and ask): remember me, Lord, in Your Kingdom.

God! May the communion of Your Holy Mysteries serve me not as a condemnation or punishment, but as a healing for my soul and body.

Prayer to Saint Basil the Great

To repent of sins and ask for pardon for committed misdeeds, the fifth prayer of St. Basil the Great is read, which is included in the morning rule, which is mandatory for Orthodox believers.

In Old Church Slavonic:

Lord Almighty, God of hosts and all flesh, living in the highest and looking down on the humble, testing the hearts and wombs and innermost parts of men, the fore-foreseen One, the Beginningless and Ever-Everlasting Light, He has no application, or transformation, overshadowing; Himself, Immortal King, accept our prayers, even now, boldly for the multitude of Your bounties, from the bad lips we create towards You, and forgive us our sins, whether in deed, word, or thought, knowledge or ignorance, we have sinned; and cleanse us from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. And grant us with a cheerful heart and a sober thought to pass through the whole night of this present life, awaiting the coming of the bright and revealed day of Your Only Begotten Son, Lord and God and our Savior Jesus Christ, when the Judge of all will come with glory, to whom he will give to each according to his deeds; May we not fall and become lazy, but be watchful and raised up for the work that is to come, and prepare for the joy and Divine palace of His glory, where those who celebrate the unceasing voice and the ineffable sweetness of those who behold Your face, the ineffable kindness. For You are the true Light, you enlighten and sanctify all things, and all creation sings to You forever and ever. Amen!

In modern Russian:

Lord Almighty, God of disembodied forces and all flesh, living on the heights of heaven and looking down upon the valleys of the earth, observing hearts and thoughts and clearly knowing the secrets of men, the Beginningless and Eternal Light, which has no changes in power and leaves no shadowed place on His path. You Yourself, Immortal King, accept our prayers, which we now, hoping for the abundance of Your compassion, bring to You from unclean lips; and forgive us our sins, committed by us in deed, word and thought, consciously or unconsciously, and cleanse us from all impurity of flesh and spirit. And grant us with a watchful heart and a sober thought to live the whole night of this earthly life, in anticipation of the coming of the bright and glorious day of the second coming of Your Only Begotten Son, the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, when the common Judge will come with glory to reward everyone according to his deeds. May He find us not lying down and sleepy, but awake and risen in the midst of the fulfillment of His commandments, and ready to enter with Him into the joy and Divine palace of His glory, where the unceasing voices of those who triumph and the inexpressible joy of those who see the inexpressible beauty of Your face. For You are the true Light, enlightening and sanctifying the whole world, and You are glorified by all creation forever and ever. Amen.
