Since then, the Eiffel Tower has been a symbol of Paris and all lovers.

Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italy, Pisa)

Many tourists have photos of the Leaning Tower of Pisa leaning on its side. But not everyone knows the history of the construction of this unique structure. They planned to build it back in 1173, and all stages of construction lasted as much as 200 years! From the very beginning, the architects realized that they had chosen the wrong place for construction and for two centuries in a row, they tried to correct the mistake with the tilt of the tower.

Currently, the Leaning Tower of Pisa is the bell tower of the Catholic Cathedral; it is part of the architectural ensemble Square of Miracles. In addition to the tower, the ensemble includes a cathedral, a baptistery and a cemetery. Tourists are prohibited from visiting the tower; only scientists or representatives of the media with permission can examine the tower from the inside.

Matica

Matitsa is a beam that serves as the basis for the ceiling in a hut. The laying of the mat, which was considered to support the top of the dwelling, became a key moment in the construction, accompanied by rituals, prayers and refreshments for the carpenters. Matitsa was a symbolic boundary between the inside and outside of the hut. The guest, upon entering the house, sat on a bench and could not go behind the mother without the invitation of the owners. When setting off on a journey, the owners of the hut held on to the mother so that the journey would be happy. And in order to rid the house of various insects, a found tooth from a harrow was tucked under the motherboard.

Statue of Liberty (USA, New York)

The massive sculpture towers over all of New York. An interesting fact is that the Statue of Liberty was not created in the USA, it was made in France and presented to the States as a gift to celebrate the centenary of American independence. A massive woman holding a torch is a symbol of freedom and equality, which still prevail in the United States.

The statue is located on a small island. You can see it while riding along New York Harbor or from the shore. It is open to tourists who come to the island on boats and ferries. Entrance to the observation deck located in the crown of the statue will cost $7-10.

Other interpretations of the symbol

Fortune telling methods:

  • When fortune telling, the outlines of an owl appeared on wax - foretelling adversity and illness;
  • Fortune telling on coffee grounds deciphers the image as a messenger of hatred and conflicts. The silhouettes at the top of the cup represent the death of relatives, at the bottom of the container are the losses of the financial plan.

Dreams:

  • The solution to the main image is connected with minor points. For example, a bird in your hand - there is a risk of fires; if a hoot was heard in a dream - they will give reasonable advice;
  • There is an opinion that obsessive dreams about birds of prey promise isolation and recluse.

Impact of runes:

  • The runic becoming “owl” copies the qualities of one person, transferring them to the desired subject. By writing down the symbols in a clear order and performing a certain ritual, it is easy to achieve change.

Legend has it that if a husband puts an owl's heart to the side of his sleeping unfaithful wife, then his other half will “tell” about the betrayal.

Decorations:

  • Jewelry with a bird of prey emphasizes attractiveness and protects;
  • More often they choose pendants and pendants that are worn closer to the heart;
  • Rings with rings are recommended for indecisive people to feel self-confident;
  • It is important to remember that silver talismans are much more effective than gold and steel ones.

Tattoos:

  • The meaning of tattoos with a magical predator depends on the appearance and method of execution;
  • Common interpretation: fun, grief, loneliness, prudence, experience;
  • Tattoos with open wings are made on the back or chest. An owl with folded wings is pinned on the shoulder;
  • Owners of such tattoos are often erudite individuals who love solitude and are nocturnal.

Opera House (Australia, Sydney)

The Sydney Theater is a building easily recognizable throughout the world. It is the symbol of Australia's largest city. Previously, on the site of the theater there was a colony for slaves, a little later - a fort, and until 1958 there was a tram depot here. The opera house took more than 14 years to build, and its grand opening took place in 1973. Currently, his image can be seen on the country's banknotes, postage stamps, envelopes and other tourist paraphernalia.

Rituals with an amulet

  • To find out about the feelings of your chosen one, you should take cards: seven of hearts, seven of spades, ace of hearts. Holding the amulet, say: “Owl, give me the answer, as moonlight gives you wisdom.” Then pull out the card by touch. You got an ace - you are in love with a fortuneteller, seven of hearts - an indifferent attitude, seven of spades - hostility;
  • You can get rid of gloomy thoughts if you take a feather at sunset and ask the bird for support.

Amulets should be cleaned as follows:

  • Leave for a day under sunlight or at night under the moon;
  • Place under water for 2-3 minutes;
  • Sprinkle with salt;
  • Bury in soil for an hour;
  • Smoke with incense.

Advice from esotericists:

  • You cannot make a fuss near magical objects, complain about problems, or convey negative emotions to the amulet. Things absorb the resulting fluids and return them back;
  • From an esoteric point of view, one should not make love in the presence of a figurine and count bills;
  • Give such gifts to loved ones and friends.

It is important to know that the amulet “works” if a person believes in its power, in which case the abilities of the item are fully revealed. When purchasing a figurine, you need to talk to it, touch it, share good experiences, ask for help.

Pyramid complex (Egypt, Giza)

The unique structures are included in the list of 7 wonders of the world and are the only ones from this list that have survived to this day. In the ancient Egyptian necropolis there are several pyramids, the largest of which is the Pyramid of Cheops. The Great Sphinx is also located here - a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the face of a man.

Every year millions of tourists come to see the majestic pyramids. Passage inside is prohibited, so you can only inspect them from the outside. But this is quite enough to replenish your photo album with interesting pictures.

What you should pay attention to?

It will be beautiful if the parent candles are the same and simpler, and the bride and groom’s candle is large and eye-catching. Now it is possible to purchase a variety of candles: it could be a heart, wedding rings, fire, a house, a real hearth, etc. In addition, you can take an ordinary white classic candle.

Often the ceremony does not end after lighting the candle; it may be followed by a continuation or photo session. To do this, you need to choose a beautiful candlestick or stand so that the hot wax does not burn the bride’s hands or stain the dress.

A veil, loose hair, a fluffy skirt - all this can accidentally catch fire, so you need to handle the candle with the utmost care.

During the ceremony, it is better to darken the hall or turn off the lights. The venue decoration may include other candles, lights or even torches if the wedding is taking place outdoors. After the ceremony, the newlyweds can dance their first dance with a burning candle; the photos will turn out simply incredible.

Editor's choice: How to choose the right wedding agency? Photo review

Before the wedding, it is worth discussing the ceremony with the photographer; he can give recommendations and advice on how to get the most beautiful and successful photographs.

If lighting the family hearth is a tradition in your family, then you can use your parents’ wedding candle; according to legend, this will bring a lot of happiness to the newlyweds. After this, the candle can be lit every anniversary or saved and passed on to children later.

After the ceremony, the candle becomes a talisman for a young family; it is recommended to light it during difficult periods in life, during quarrels, disagreements or illnesses; it is believed that it can protect the family from grief and troubles.

If parents do not have a candle, then you can make one yourself. This is a great idea for creative young people, because they will put their work and a piece of their soul into this candle. There are a huge number of master classes that will explain how to make a beautiful candle with your own hands.

The handover of the hearth and hearth does not involve silence. Most often, parents give parting words to the newlyweds, congratulate them, say words of love or read poetry. Congratulations to parents can be prepared in advance, but an impromptu congratulation will turn out to be more sincere.

Editor's choice: Black wedding, celebration in exquisite color

The bride and groom, in turn, can also read a verse or respond with sincere words of love and gratitude to their parents. In addition, the toastmaster must explain to the guests the essence of the ritual or tell a beautiful parable about the hearth.

Colosseum (Italy, Rome)

The Colosseum is one of the few architectural monuments of Ancient Rome that have survived to this day. In ancient times, the amphitheater hosted animal hunts, naumachia battles, gladiator fights and other entertainment spectacles. However, over time, the building fell into disrepair and practically collapsed.

Its reconstruction began only in the last century, and since then the Colosseum has been a symbol not only of Rome, but of all of Italy as a whole. It is not possible to visit the building inside; tourists can only view the majestic amphitheater from the outside.

Text of the book “Home Magic. Natural magic for the hearth and home"

Chapter Four Deities, Spirits and Other Magical Creatures of the Hearth

Vesta, stay forever in this beautiful house.
Let only warm feelings and friendship live here.

Bring your mind, your energy and your passion here,

And your hard work.

Always be a part of my soul.
You are always welcome here. I remember you. Homeric hymn

Hearth spirits are friendly and kind goddesses. These ladies symbolize the comfort, strength and magic of love in your home. We will focus our attention on three of them: deities who are traditionally the keepers of the fire in the hearth and the personification of magical energies in the home.

Hestia (Vesta): sacred flame

Hestia, or Vesta, was the Greco-Roman goddess of the hearth. She is known as the first goddess to descend to Earth. She was the eldest among three sisters (the younger ones were Demeter and Hera), but there are not many myths about her. Hestia has always been the patron of fire, be it the flame of Olympus or the hearth in an earthly home. She was also called “bright” and was depicted engulfed in flames - this is one of several forms of the goddess of fire and hearth. As the ancient magician Pythagoras wrote, the fire of Hestia’s hearth was the center of the Earth, since she was literally fire. Hestia symbolized the unity of family and state, hospitality and the spiritual center of the home.

Vesta is the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Hestia. In Rome, the sacred fire of Vesta was guarded by the vestals - virgins who were supposed to serve the goddess for thirty years, starting from early childhood. After this, they had a choice - either get married or remain in the order. At one time, the Vestals had great influence in politics. If on the way they accidentally met someone sentenced to execution, they could pardon him. The priestesses of Vesta were protected and carefully guarded, and if someone even accidentally harmed them, the consequences for that person were dire.

But there is another belief that the Vestals were not “virgins” at all. Perhaps they were called virgins in the sense that they belonged only to themselves. But in the temple they were free to choose their sexual partner. Sharing the same bed with the priestess of Vesta was like knowing the goddess herself. However, it is known from history that sacred sexual rituals with priestesses were often held in pagan temples. This, by the way, is one of the reasons why the church was against them.

Several special days were dedicated to the Goddess Vesta. For example, March 2. On this day, they cleaned the inside of the halls and cleansed the temple, and also lit a new ceremonial fire. Another day dedicated to the goddess was called Vestalia and took place on June 7th.

Later, the image of Vesta began to appear on Roman coins. She was usually depicted as a woman in long robes, carrying a torch and a scepter in her hands. The Vestals kept the sacred fire until the 6th century AD, when the Christian church gained enough power to overthrow the priestesses of Vesta and deprive them of political and religious power.

Hestia and Vesta were very significant goddesses, since since ancient times the hearth has been a sacred place in the house. Their main tasks were keeping the fire, giving food and protecting the home and family. All this was connected with the flame of the hearth, so Hestia and Vesta in ancient times were an inseparable part of every home. Hestia can be considered a more domestic, calm goddess. The worship of Vesta was more organized, had political overtones and, according to some beliefs, was of a pronounced sexual nature. However, they were both very powerful and influential goddesses of their time. In both cases, their symbols are the color red, the astrological symbol of the asteroid Vesta, burning candles, a cauldron, a hearth, a fireplace and, of course, fire.

Brigid: light and bright

Let the blessed sun illuminate and warm your heart with its radiance, Until it blazes like a fire - so that both a stranger and a friend can come and warm up with him. Irish blessing

The goddess Brigid is also known by the names Bride, Brigantia and Brigitania. In Celtic her name sounds like Brighid. This goddess is very popular among witches, pagans and druids; she was the patroness of bards. She is also called "bright", "light arrow", "Irish flame" and "three female deities". This great goddess of fire and hearth occupied a very important place in the Celtic pantheon. She is considered the daughter of Dagda. According to myth, at the moment of her birth, a column of fire rose from the crown on her head straight into the heavens. The light from it was so bright that everyone thought that the house in which the birth took place had burned down from a fire.

For Brigid, the fire of the home is sacred, and she was usually depicted either holding small flames in both palms or surrounded by a fiery glow. She was considered the patroness of blacksmithing, poetry and the art of healing. And if you think about it, you will understand that all these spheres are associated with fire. A blacksmith needs flame and heat to forge iron and steel. The poet turns to the inner, spiritual fire for inspiration. And the healer works with the energies of fire so that they help the patient recover.

Interestingly, Brigid was associated with sacred, life-giving springs and sources. (Apparently because of her patronage of healing.) This goddess is also credited with helping women during childbirth, patronizing the arts, learning, work, as well as psychic paranormal abilities. But first of all, she remained the goddess of the hearth. Like Vesta, Brigid also had priestesses (some researchers claim that there were nine of them, others insist that there were nineteen), who kept the eternal flame in the city of Kildare, in Ireland.

Brigid's holy day is the sabbath of Imbolc, which is celebrated on February 1st or 2nd, depending on the magical tradition. Near Scotland, in the Hebrides, a festival dedicated to Brigid is held. On this day, the main woman in the house chants and blesses the image of this goddess. Usually a special doll is made from straw or corn cobs, and she is dressed in a white outfit. A crystal is inserted into the place where the heart should be, and the doll itself is placed in a box resembling a cradle. Through this annual ceremony, people call upon the spirit of the goddess Brigid into their homes and ask for her blessings for the coming year.

Imbolc is one of the most important sabbaths in the Wiccan tradition.
It is also known as Candelmas. At this time, the day between the equinox and the solstice is celebrated. Brigid is symbolized by snakes, swans, milk, a purple crocus, snowfall, an anvil, a cauldron, a four-pointed cross made of reeds (also called Brigid's cross), white stones, three intersecting circles, the number nine and the three divine colors: white, red and black . Spell of the Goddess of the Hearth
To awaken the goodwill of the goddess of the hearth and call the deities into your home, try using the following candle spell. If you don't have a fireplace, you can imitate a small hearth. Find a safe flat surface and place your magical fire altar on it. You can use this spell at any time: at sunrise, on a full moon, on a new moon, or on one of the important Sabbaths. When you light a candle and say these words, you will call on the goddess to protect and protect you. Simply put, you will let these magical women into your life. Do this and you will see that they will bring stability, comfort, warmth and magic to your home.

Collect the following attributes:

• one long and thick red candle;

• candlestick or saucer;

• nine white small smooth stones;

• a pinch of salt;

• lighter or matches.

Place nine stones around the red candle in the candle holder. Sprinkle salt on them to bless them. Take your time, close your eyes and imagine your small fireplace. Watch him radiate warmth, magic and kindness. Light the candle and repeat the following words three times:

Goddess of fire and hearth, I call you, Brigitte, Hestia, Vesta! A ring of stones is a hearth, a candle is like a flame, Bless my home with your magic.

Finish the spell with the words:

By the forces of Earth and Fire, my will carries out the conspiracy.

Let the candle burn for a few more hours. When finished, blow out the candle. Light it whenever you feel the need to once again call upon the goddesses of the hearth.

House perfume. Brownie

I am part of an amazing world, Consisting of elements and angelic spirit. John Donne

Tell your friends that you believe in fairies, and their negative reactions, jokes and sarcasm will follow. Tell them that you saw a brownie, and they will seriously think that you need medical attention. Others will respond by looking at you with wide eyes and saying something condescending or simply thinking that you are laughing at them. Some will believe you. The rest can simply come to terms with this, since in their view, formed under the influence of our culture, fairies and brownies are romantic and kind angels. It seems to me that such ideas came from the old European legend that fairies are angels sent to earth, who, during the uprising in paradise, could not decide whose side they were on.

However, in this chapter we will talk about the classical, folk variety of nature spirits. They are more associated with the earth and the elements than with romantic images. The sphere of life of fairies is very close to us, just to feel them, you need to tune in to a different wavelength. To comprehend this type of natural magic, you need an inquisitive and open mind, a pure heart and a desire to believe. Oh yes, and, of course, common sense, so as not to bring trouble on yourself.

Fairies and elemental energies are easily understood. But you will feel them rather than catch them with your eye. However, I think it's worth trying to get to know them better.

At one time I had problems with brownies or fairies - as you prefer to call them. I thought it would be cool and fun to invite them, just to watch them act. (Yes, I admit my mistake. I was a novice witch, young and arrogant.) And it worked. During that time, I learned even more about fairy behavior than I needed to. The main conclusion I made: before opening a magical portal, find out more about your future guests. And be prepared for the consequences. When you get involved with the world of fairies and brownies, you can never count on free cheese.

I was once asked how it was that fairies settled in the United States if they were originally from Europe. The answer is extremely simple: they either moved with the families that immigrated to America, or, more likely, creatures of natural elements live throughout the planet, on every continent. They may have different names, but their energy exists everywhere. So what is stopping them from being here then? The land where we now live was once wild and unconquered. So why should the elemental spirits leave here? They might just be hiding right now, waiting for you to notice them.

One of the most common types of brownies that can take up residence in your home is the brownie. There are many varieties of brownies.

Brownies vary in stature and appearance across traditions. According to the Scottish version, brownies should be approximately 30–60 centimeters tall. Other sources say that they are only 15 centimeters in length and wear brown clothes: cloaks or fur shirts. But in general, brownies are small, furry and... brown. According to legend, these brownies finish the housework for their owners that for some reason they did not have time to complete.

Brownies are very fond of animals, pets and the fuss of small children. In fact, animals (especially cats) will notice the presence of brownies in your home much before you do. Your cat will jump, pounce on things, and become alert for no apparent reason. One might assume that when cats do this, they are simply playing with the spirits in your home.

Goblins are brownies in the English version. These are brownies who live in the kitchen behind the stove, stove or fireplace. Goblin is the spirit of the hearth, the keeper of the flame in the household. And if he has taken root in some kind family, he is unlikely to ever leave. This is why many goblins moved with the family they lived with. These creatures are strongly attached to their family, so they help people in every possible way and even do routine work. But if they don’t feel positive emotions in response, they may hide your keys in the most unexpected places out of spite. Pak, which we mentioned in one of the spells of the first chapter, is a goblin.

Wales has its own name for brownies - beech. They can be very useful in the household, as long as you don't make them angry, otherwise they will start to cause harm. How can you not please the brownies and offend them? For example, ignore them, or say out loud that you do not believe in brownies and other spirits, or make serious rearrangements and remodeling of the house. If you want everything to be fine, but have already planned to move something, then call on your home spirits to help you. Ask them to make sure everything is in order. As strange as it may sound, you need to let them in on your reshuffle plans. Otherwise, they will think that you are destroying their little nest, and will slow down this process in every possible way until it stops completely.

Material delays, equipment breakdowns and constant confusion will constantly haunt you. This happened once in my family. I finally had to put the renovation aside for a bit, write my plans down on paper, and put the note on the mantel along with some brownie crystals. That night I dreamed that they were discussing my plans for a change with the cat, without any intervention from me. In the morning, the gifts for them (crystals) disappeared, and the note with the plans remained lying on the fireplace. My old tabby cat sat next to her and guarded her.

Sometimes in a fit of anger, brownies can throw things (I imagine many people mistake this for a poltergeist in the house), can hide valuables such as jewelry, wallets or keys, can spoil food such as milk, and are believed to make beer go flat and stale.

Remember that all brownies love attention and gifts.
Try offering them a crystal, milk and honey, or a simple cookie. They say brownies get offended if they are offered money or clothes. By and large, despite different names and “nationalities,” all brownies are good-natured spirits, ready to help the family in which they live with household chores. Don't upset them and whisper this spell in the evening before going to bed. Brownie Spell
Do all your usual evening activities. I usually go into the living room and kitchen to tidy up and make sure all the doors are closed and the lights are off (especially that all the burning candles are blown out). Then, when you are ready to go to bed, go into the room that you consider the heart of your home and whisper the spell:

My beloved brownies and brownies, I whisper thank you so that you can hear. I ask you to look after your family and protect your pets. Thank you for your help, I can’t sleep peacefully without it.

Complete the spell with the words:

With the power of the hearth and home I cast a spell. Let it not harm anyone, but only bring happiness!

The magic of the fireplace or hearth

Wherever the sorcerer goes, he is always at home. For him, the earth is a hearth, and the roof is the blue sky. Ralph Waldo Emerson

In ancient Rome, the hearth was called the Latin word focus

. He was considered the heart of the family. Fire was sacred and was under the protection of goddesses such as Hestia and Vesta. The main woman of the family kept it and was responsible for it. Her mission was very important, since fire was revered as a living symbol of the family spirit.

In magic, fire is the element of transformation. Reading conspiracies near a roaring flame in a fireplace or in the flickering light of candles is a mysterious activity associated with something otherworldly. Fire miraculously puts a person into a certain unusual state and gives a feeling of eternity. The flame itself is very powerful - it is both destructive and creative at the same time. Working near a fireplace or stove, you gain a connection with ancient times, comprehend the secrets of real witches, sorceresses and sorceresses. This is also a great opportunity to work and get to know the salamanders and fire elementals. Don't worry if you don't have a fireplace in your home. Simply create your own hearth with three long candles and place some smooth stones around them in a semicircle - just like we did for the Goddess of the Hearth spell. Charge these stones with magic by sprinkling them with a pinch of salt or a drop of essential oil. Just make sure that wherever you place these candles, they are far enough away from flammable objects such as curtains or furniture.

Salamanders and divination by fire

Give me a burst of natural fire. This is the only knowledge I crave. Robert Burns

Salamander is the embodiment of the fire element. Without the strength and energy of fire salamanders, fire would not exist. They are usually described as small lizards or as bright, red and gold balls of flame. Salamanders are very patient and always rush to protect the family they live with. They, like their brothers in the natural element - dragons - are part of the element of Fire. They give us warmth, passion, enthusiasm and an uncanny ability to “see.” If you start working with fire elementals, you can later try fire divination.

Fortune telling using fire is called pyromancy. This technique can be difficult for a beginner: it can be difficult for beginners to turn off logical thinking and surrender to the streams of the subconscious. If you have a fireplace or stove with a soothing crackling fire, lie on your stomach on the floor in front of the fireplace in a comfortable position. Place your hands under your chin and, without taking your eyes away, look at the fire. Let go of your mind and let your imagination guide you. Try to relax your eyes and unfocus your gaze; blink calmly. What images do you see in the dancing flames?

The house will symbolize prosperity. Trees and horseshoes signify success, luck and prosperity. A horse, plane or ship means an upcoming journey, and a flying bird means an important letter soon. A bell foretells a wedding, and a candle foretells the birth of a child.

Let go of your problems and enjoy watching the flames, but don't relax so much that you fall asleep. If you don’t have your own fireplace or stove, then use your small homemade fireplace made of candles and pebbles. Just unfocus your eyes so that everything in front of your eyes is a little blurry. Your mind should be completely calm. Set aside about half an hour for your first attempt and write down what images or impressions the fire evokes in you.

If, during the process of fortune telling, sparks light up and fly away in the fireplace or stove, then this is a very good sign. This means that salamanders help you work. If you first see large clouds of smoke, which then turn into strong flames, then dragons are with you. If there is no fire at all in the stove, but only thick smoke is pouring out, stir the logs with a poker and then feed the flames with wood chips and wood. Don't be alarmed if the fire starts to go out in front of you. You just need to flood more and do it with pleasure.

If you use candle flames for fortune telling, then you also need to take good care of them. A sparkling, swaying, noisy flame means that the salamanders are near you. Tall and dancing flames (unless, of course, this is caused by a draft or wind) indicate the energetic activity of dragons.

Here is another solution for those who do not have a fireplace and stove. Try burning a candle inside a cast iron cauldron. This simple way out can create an atmosphere of true magic. And what kind of magic is this when there is no witch’s cauldron?

If your candle flame turns blue, this indicates the presence of a ghost. And if you feel dangerous or uncomfortable about this, call one of the goddesses or fire elementals for help. Scatter a little salt in each of the four corners of your home and ask the ghost to go to a more peaceful place.

Fire Magic

Magic flame, spirit of fire, May luck always accompany me. Doreen Valiente

To better understand natural magic, let's take a closer look at Fire magic. Fire is one of the most powerful elemental elements. Beginners usually start with candle spells, and many books on magic contain a large number of candle spells (and this book is no exception). In the second chapter I gave the meanings of colors; this information can also be taken into account for candle magic. However, now I want to give you something new - this ritual will take you longer, but it is closer to the traditions of the ancient sorcerers.

In order to cast a spell, you will need an open fire, either in a fireplace, or in a stove, or in an old cast-iron barbecue. You can also use modern metal portable grill boxes, closed on all sides with bars. I most often use a cauldron style grill that has the skewers inside. It's completely safe to use, the fire burns well, and it's high enough off the ground. This grill is black in color and its shape reminds me of a magic cauldron.

In the summer, my friends and I lit a fire in it and took turns throwing various herbs and flowers into it that grew in my garden. At the same time, we whispered asking for a good harvest and prosperity in the dark half of the year. It was an amazing surprise for us when these fresh herbs caused the fire to flare up and change color. Perhaps this was simply due to the addition of green plants to the fire. Or maybe when the witches celebrated the summer solstice, real magic happened.

If you are planning to build any device to have an open fire outdoors, please be vigilant and careful. Have a hose or bucket of water ready. When working with flames, make sure that long sleeves and hair do not get caught in the fire.

Crumple up some newspaper and place it in the center of the fireplace. Place wood chips and dry twigs in the shape of a hut. Place large-sized firewood on top of this structure; three or four pieces will be enough. (The fire is usually expected to burn for about half an hour, so keep a basket of logs nearby.) Light the paper with a long wooden match or lighter. When the flame in your small fire crackles and flares up, try saying the following incantations.
