Feng Shui and plants in the office: myths and reality

Every person who wants to make their home beautiful and cozy decorates it with flowers. Someone strives to put fresh and fragrant flowers in a vase more often. Some people like artificial flowers of different shapes and colors.

In the late 90s and early 2000s, was there a widespread fashion for artificial flowers? They were sold in huge quantities in the market and shops, people gave them to acquaintances, friends and teachers. Vases with artificial flowers, huge flowerpots and baskets on the walls decorated almost every second apartment.

And now in some houses it is customary to decorate the interior using bright artificial flowers. Their brightness lasts for a long time, their care is minimal, and some of them are made so skillfully that it is almost impossible to distinguish them from the real thing. Therefore, from a practical point of view, this is very convenient, but what about esotericism and the philosophy of Feng Shui?

Impact on energy in the home

If you look after flowers, cherish them, cherish them and sincerely love them, then they will repay their owner in the same coin. Flowers have very strong energy. This also applies to indoor plants in pots and bouquets that were given to you. They say that the aura of plants is unusual: the more similar it is to the biofield of its owner, the more love the person feels for him.

A strong invisible connection and mutual understanding arises between a person and a plant. The gardener intuitively knows when his plant needs water, light, and warmth.

Many flowers, possessing powerful energy, can improve the psychological atmosphere in the apartment, reconcile loved ones, and take away illnesses in the household. Energy has two poles: positive and negative.

Therefore, there are plants with destructive energy. If such flowers are placed in the wrong place or given to the wrong person, then the plants can cause irreparable harm: from physical ailments to psychological discomfort.

Artificial flowers at home

There is a relationship, a silent conversation, between a living flower and a person. A living plant gives its energy to a person, and a person gives his plant certain emotions.

Is it possible to keep artificial flowers in the house? A fake flower contains nothing but beauty. Inside, such flowers are energetically empty, and their external appearance was created not by nature, but by man.

They say that such a bouquet will bring everything fake and lifeless into your life. Emotions, feelings, relationships between people will be joyless.

According to the teachings of Feng Shui, any artificial flower is a symbol of loneliness.

Fake flowers are used to decorate the inside of churches, they are used at funerals and funeral services, artificial flowers are brought to cemetery graves and tombstones, so it is not recommended to decorate your home with them.

If peace, harmony reigns in the house, and there are no scandals, then the artificial plant will take away all the positivity, but will not give a bit in return. Therefore, happy owners of decorative flowers will become unhappy. That's why you can't keep a fake at home.

Fake flowers can even cause misfortune in your home. This will happen if they somehow came to you from a “bad house”.

If you place such a bouquet in the bedroom, then your loved ones may soon separate, and the feeling of emptiness inside a lonely person will worsen.

If there are often rows in the apartment, shouting at each other, sorting things out, then artificial flowers in such a homely atmosphere will take root very well, absorbing all the negativity of the house. But even fake flowers can become oversaturated with negative vibrations and begin to return them to household members. Therefore, in such a situation it is better to change them more often.

They say that loaches, ivy and phyllatics, made by human hands, will be brought into the house in illness. And it is extremely dangerous, if you believe the superstition, to keep flowers and wax candles at home: such decorations predict death.

Never accept decorative flowers as a gift. Perhaps in this way they want to jinx you or give you their illness.

Feng Shui meaning of plants

The Chinese attribute special human qualities to some plants. plum flowers are considered a symbol of purity and perfection. Bamboo represents discipline and integrity. Delicate, touching orchids symbolically convey a love of solitude and bestow a wonderful character. Lush chrysanthemums speak of purity and honesty.

These four useful plants are called the Four Nobles of the Garden. But besides them, there are other living sources of energy that give good Feng Shui to a home, office and their inhabitants.

For example, luxurious peonies symbolize prosperity and love. Together with the majestic magnolia, they are considered immortal and bring success. Refined wisteria means harmony. And osnu, bamboo and plum flowers are poetically called the three friends of old age.

Dried flowers at home

Some people, not wanting to part with a beautiful gifted bouquet, keep dried rose petals or other ikebana flowers at home. And doing this, following some signs and superstitions, is strictly prohibited!

It turns out that dry plants are a real threat not only to your well-being, but also to your life. Illness, separation, troubles and quarrels - this is just a short list of troubles that dried flowers can bring to a person. As for diseases, there is a reasonable explanation.

Dirt and dust accumulate on dried flowers in large quantities, which can really harm people prone to allergies.

However, earlier in the houses of our ancestors there were bundles of herbs that protected the house from misfortunes. It turns out that you can’t keep only dried petals and buds in the house, but no one forbids storing dry leaves. Moreover, they will only bring you money and good luck! It is very good to dry medicinal herbs at home and drink tea from them in winter. It's good for your health.

Feng Shui does not approve of keeping dried flowers in the house. Such petals have dead energy and will have a negative effect on the owners of the home. You are allowed to keep a bouquet that was given to you on an important day, but it is better if such flowers decorate your kitchen or bathroom.

According to legend, if a girl keeps dried roses, she will never get married, and this threatens a married couple with poverty and illness.

Where to put flowers according to Feng Shui

If you decide to get a composition of artificial flowers, then according to ancient Chinese teachings, the best place for it is the kitchen. In this room, everything is ruled by the element of fire, which can destroy a living flower, but nothing will happen to an artificial one.

It is not forbidden to place fake flowers in the bedroom; this will not affect the healthy sleep of the family. Large compositions are best placed in the corners of your home. This way they will not interfere with energy circulating throughout your apartment.

It’s up to you to decide what flowers to decorate your home with: fresh or artificial. If you don’t believe in omens, are skeptical about superstitions, and for you there is nothing more beautiful than bright artificial flowers, then we can only envy your optimism and only advise you to wipe them from dust more often, so as not to become allergic, and update artificial compositions from time to time.

Plants decorate any interior and bring comfort to the house. Well-groomed healthy flowers in the house, according to Feng Shui, spread positive qi energy. But the sick and withered, on the contrary, exude negative sha, symbolize death, attract illness and failure. Do not keep compositions of dried plants and herbariums in your house - they only absorb energy.

Pros and cons of artificial flowers

Those who like to use artificial flowers to decorate their interiors will tell you that such flowers require virtually no care: they do not need to be watered, loosened the soil in the pot, or fertilized. In any city there is always a store with a wide range of fake, but very beautiful plants.

Large and small, bright and discreet shades, any composition for the most demanding customers. Artificial flowers do not require a special place; they can be placed anywhere.

Artificial flowers do not emit freshness and a pleasant aroma; the synthetic fabric of such plants will fade over time, become ugly and not very clean. Many of the materials from which they are made contain unsafe chemical dyes that will harm the health of both allergy sufferers and healthy people.

What opinion you will adhere to is up to you to decide!

Feng Shui and plants in the office: myths and reality

The introduction of the concept of “feng shui” into our lives and the great love of women for all kinds of mysticism lead to one quite pertinent question: what really helps us create flows of positive qi energy in the office space, and what is just figments of the imagination, coupled with a large amount of imposed information on the Internet with myths that it is enough to have a money tree on your desktop and this will always contribute to the prosperity of its owner.

Today I would like to talk about what myths exist about plants in the office and what is the real participation of plants in creating the correct flow of qi in the office.

Myth 1: The presence of any plants (live and artificial) in the office creates good circulation of qi energy.

Reality: Of course, any plants and objects (artificial flowers) have their own energy and influence others with it. However, what kind of energy do they emit? A healthy, living green plant carries a positive yang energy flow, which is good for any room where people spend most of the day. The presence of living, healthy plants is beneficial. But as soon as a plant gets sick and begins to wither, its energy immediately withers, turning from bright yang into deep yin. The same can be said about plants whose leaves are covered with a thick layer of dust. By carefully caring for the plant and watering it on time, you can help enhance its positive impact on humans. Artificial flowers do not have the ability to emit yang energy.

Myth 2: Having a bonsai in the office promotes prosperity. Like all oriental bonsai, it promotes the flow of qi energy.

Reality: Bonsai is nothing more than a tree with a development plan artificially changed during growth, a tree that was not allowed to grow into a beautiful plant according to its appearance by human hands, but was made into a beautiful dwarf. Think about it: can the genetic memory of such a plant emit a positive flow of energy? Bonsai may be appropriate in a small Japanese garden near the house, but it is completely out of place in a modern office.

Myth 3: All climbing plants are vampires.

Reality: Indeed, vines are considered yin, especially those that have branches falling down. However, their presence in the office is sometimes justified. Take, for example, a situation where you inevitably have to sit with your back to a corner that drains all your internal energy. Did you also have a pipe or pressure beam overhead? This is where climbing plants can be very useful; place them all over the corner and beam above your head - and with their Yin energy they will “feed” the energy monsters in the form of a corner or beam. And you will become much more comfortable.

Myth 4: There should be cacti in front of the monitor.

Reality: This myth is based on the fact that a cactus, with its needles, is capable of reflecting the negative impact of the energy coming from the computer to the employee. There is some truth in this, for example, it turned out that the Cereus Per-vianus cactus is very effective in neutralizing the effects of the harmful effects of a computer, which is why it is actively used in the premises of the New York Stock Exchange. However, few people think about the fact that the needles are directed not only towards the monitor, but also towards the person sitting behind it, and towards colleagues, and therefore have a certain influence on the people around him. And this is a clear provocateur of conflicts with colleagues, with superiors, and even internal conflicts within oneself. It may be better to replace the cactus with a plant with round leaves and a straight stem; these are the plants that are recommended from the point of view of Feng Shui as the most favorable.

Let's turn to the scientific point of view.

The issues of the influence of plants on humans are constantly being studied by scientists in various fields. For example, NASA studied the influence of plants in order to discover ways to purify the air in space capsules. Research has shown that some common houseplants can cleanse the air of many common pollutants, including formaldehyde. These are the well-known Spathiphyllum Wallisii, Dwarf Banana Plants (Musa), Scindapsus Aureus and Syngonium Podophyllum. From the point of view of Feng Shui, these plants carry a uniform inactive flow of Yang energy and have a beneficial and gentle effect.

Another group of plants studied by NASA consisted of more active yang plants such as Chlorophytum Elatum, Sansevieria Trifasciata Laurentii, and Aglaonema. These plants also reduced the level of pollution, but due to the pointed nature of their leaves, the effect was more dramatic.

In addition to filtering the air, plants increase the oxygen content and humidity level in it, and charge it with negative ions. Overall, they gently improve the energy of the place. It is recommended to place (as close as possible) a pot of a houseplant near the computer. And also, if necessary, with the help of plants you can neutralize the harmful effects of other electrical appliances.

From all that has been said above, one simple logical conclusion can be drawn: study Feng Shui and its influence on your life, but do not forget about common sense, scientific research, and simply trust your intuition.

Surround yourself in the office and at home with plants that will give you an extra dose of energy and will please your eyes. Take care of them and enjoy their lush greenery and beautiful flowers. Create in your workplace a feeling of prosperity, fullness of life and harmony of everything that surrounds you!
