On April 21-22, 2007, a seminar by Feng Shui expert Lev Igelnik “Method of flying stars San-Yuan” was held in Kyiv. Application experience, analysis methods, comparison of approaches and models.”
Feng Shui expert Lev Igelnik compared the views of different Masters on the San Yuan method of flying stars, highlighting the similarities and differences in approaches. In addition, Lev Igelnik’s author’s view on how to apply the method was proposed.
At the very beginning of the seminar, the technology of constructing a map of flying stars and methods of overlaying the map on a house plan were discussed. Already at this stage, some misconceptions of the students were identified and eliminated. It turned out that most printed sources form an erroneous idea about determining the center of an apartment (house) of irregular shape.
Let's take an L-shaped apartment as an example. It is often recommended to build such an apartment to a rectangle, find its center and consider this place as the center of the apartment. Lev Igelnik considers this approach to be erroneous. Because, in this case, we find the center of the completed figure.
For irregularly shaped apartments, it is more correct to look for the center of gravity, which will be the geometric center. The easiest way to do this is with a needle and an apartment plan cut out of cardboard. In the place where the paper is held on the needle there will be a geometric center.
You can use Stephen Skinner's approach and determine the center using a string and a weight.
Another option is to use your school knowledge of geometry and calculate the center of a complex figure.
Lev Mikhailovich explained in detail the essence of the method of replacement stars, focusing on the main idea of the method - replacing small stars with large ones.
In cases where there are large stars immediately in the central palace, replacement is not required. For this reason, in 8th generation houses, replacement stars are used only at the borders C1/C2 and Yu1/Y2.
As a result of analyzing the essence of the method, it turned out that when we replace the mountain star in the central palace, we change the mountain direction of the house. Which leads to an interesting conclusion - the front and mountain directions are not always opposite each other.
Lev Igelnik made a report about his approaches at the All-Russian Feng Shui Conference. The abstracts of his speech “The experience of using the San Yuan flying stars method, analysis of the approaches of the masters, ways to improve his model, the method of constructing maps and their interpretation” can be read on the website of the International Feng Shui Forum.
Lev Mikhailovich examined all combinations of mountain and water stars. Special combinations were considered that were favorable for luck in wealth, for the birth of children, for career, power, fame. Combinations useful in various types of activities were considered.
Of particular interest was the topic of the nature of the influence of stars on humans. There are many disagreements in views on this issue among different experts. Lev Igelnik, citing Joseph Yu, believes that Gua is not a characteristic of a person, but a characteristic of his guardian angel. This explains why people born in the same year are different.
Eva Wong also believes that Gua is a person's guardian angel. All people with the same Gua are different, but they have one guardian angel.
The Guardian Angel “works” when we sleep or spend a lot of time in one place. This is why the mountain star must be "friendly" with the guardian angel. The mountain star may not be timely, but if it corresponds to a person’s Gua, it is a guardian angel protecting the person.
Often people acquire the qualities of stars under which they spend a lot of time. For example, if you sleep under mountain 1, you can acquire wisdom and the desire to become rich and famous. And those who sleep under Mountain 4 can become creative, artistic and romantic. Mountain 4 can make a person very sexy.
If you have to sleep in a place with an unfavorable mountain star, move the head of the bed half a meter from the wall. Since mountain stars “live” on the walls, you will prevent an unfavorable star from harming you.
Such a recommendation may cause controversy, since the sleeping person is thus deprived of protection (turtle). In each case, the extent of harm and benefit must be assessed individually.
The author’s opinion about people with Gua 5 was also voiced.
I would like to make a reservation that many Feng Shui Consultants do not recognize its existence. However, when calculated using formulas, it still turns out to be 5. Women traditionally replace 5 with 8, and men with 2.
But still, these people are special. According to Leo Igelnik, star 5 can bring good luck to people with Gua 5, especially if they are people of fire and have leadership qualities.
In any case, star 5 is not dangerous for people with Gua 5.
Lev Mikhailovich told in which stars it is favorable for people of different professions to work. Many recommendations go beyond the traditional water 8 and 1.
Lev Mikhailovich examined the views of various experts on special maps of flying stars that have “magical” properties. I also looked at the Fu Yin and Fan Yin cards, which are not favorable.
And, of course, a lot of attention was paid to methods for correcting the influence of stars. Activating good influences and neutralizing or weakening bad influences.
Even the most favorable card is difficult to show its good qualities if it is not supported by external forms and the correct layout of the room.
For the first time, many students heard a reasoned opinion about the role and purpose of the mountain and water stars of the central palace.
According to Joseph Yu, these are minister stars. They do not work in their palace, but only “supervise” their subordinates in other palaces. The consultant's job is to give them control.
Lev Igelnik takes a broader view. He draws an analogy with government. In other words, the mountain and water stars of the central palace sleep and work in the central palace, and can also “walk” to other palaces under certain conditions. Moreover, the stars of the central palace, like minister stars, are always timely.
In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to Lev Igelnik on behalf of all the course participants, and also quote one of the pieces of advice from the Old Masters passed on to us.
“If you are not compassionate and beneficent, heaven will not send you a good Master.”

Preface
I think that from year to year life on our planet is becoming more complex and intense, in developed countries people began to work more, get sick more, science and technology are developing, becoming more complex and sophisticated, they enter our lives, on the one hand increasing our efficiency, and on the other hand increasing our energy consumption.
In the midst of increasing workload, people forget about the true purpose of life and simple things that can effectively help us. This was the first reason for writing the book, because the tips given in it are very simple, many of them are intuitive, some tips you know, but in the bustle of life you forget about them, and some will be new to you. But all the tips are quite effective and this has been verified by long experience of their use not only in Chinese, but also in European culture.
The second reason was the popularity of Feng Shui. On store shelves you can see dozens of books on Feng Shui. Some of them are intended for professionals and are devoted to complex models and calculation methods, and some are for the untrained reader and are simple to the point of primitiveness. Pocket-sized books of less than 100 pages called “The Complete Encyclopedia of Feng Shui” or “Everything about Feng Shui” appeared. Such books make me smile, and readers get the impression that Feng Shui is a set of rules for rearranging objects in the house, and not a complex science about the energy of space.
The third reason is that there are several schools of feng shui based on different ideas and approaches to the study of living space. The school of forms, the school of directions and the Bagua principle are quite simple, but the school of flying stars and water formulas are complex. Using different schools to evaluate the same situation results in the advice of one school conflicting with the advice of another school. For example, the school of forms states that a pond should always be in front of the house and a mountain behind it, but if it’s the other way around, then this is very bad. According to the school of flying stars, in certain situations a pond is needed precisely behind the house, and a mountain in front of the house. For a specialist, there is no contradiction in this, but an unprepared reader does not know what to do correctly when reading such contradictory advice in books.
Therefore, in this book I tried to collect only simple, easy-to-follow, but effective tips and prohibitions that are common to various schools of Feng Shui.
However, the possibilities of feng shui helping in creating and arranging a house, apartment or office that is favorable for specific residents are not limited to the simple tips outlined in this book, because the science of the energy of space is complex, and housing or an office is chosen for specific people and specific purposes. Therefore, in difficult situations it is still necessary to contact a specialist.
To make it easier to find tips in the book, I have arranged them in alphabetical order by keyword.
I have highlighted all the “how to do” recommendations in red font, and all the “what not to do” recommendations are printed in black font.

Feng Shui and Flying Stars 2020
Feng Shui (“wind and water”) is a Taoist practice of symbolic exploration of space, the purpose of which is to search for favorable flows of Qi and use them for the benefit of humans. Feng Shui is based on the I Ching - the Book of Changes - ancient Chinese philosophical texts written about 5 thousand years ago.
Feng Shui is a science, philosophy, and art. Feng Shui was first practiced 4 thousand years ago. The most important Feng Shui tools, which are also used in other Chinese traditional arts, are the 8 trigrams - “ Bagua ” . Pairwise combinations of 8 trigrams give 64 hexagrams of the I Ching . The mutual arrangement of the “Eight Trigrams” “Bagua” is one of the subjects of the science and philosophy of Feng Shui.
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese method of living in harmony with the energies of the living Earth . This is a technique for creating and improving living space. Feng Shui indicates favorable places and directions in space. The main criterion is the mysterious metaphysical force - Qi energy , which is distributed and moves in space and changes in time . Chinese practitioners of Feng Shui are convinced that when the location of a house is favorable and it is surrounded by four celestial animals: dragon, tiger, turtle and phoenix , then luck passes from descendant to descendant without leaving the house.
Feng Shui was practiced for centuries by the ruling classes of Imperial China . From the Tang Dynasty until the reign of the last Chinese emperors, Feng Shui remained an important part of the practice of the imperial court, and Feng Shui masters were either revered for the invaluable knowledge they possessed or put to death so that this knowledge could not become the property of anyone. or.
In Chinese legends there is a theme of Feng Shui prophecies that accompanied the formation of new dynasties. For example, Zhu Yuanzhang , the first emperor of the Ming dynasty (the Ming dynasty ruled China from 1368 to 1644 ), a bandit, beggar and bandit, was led to believe that he could overthrow the last Mongol emperor and begin the rule of the Ming dynasty, based on only from the extremely favorable Feng Shui of his father's grave. However, after becoming emperor, Zhu Yuanzhang subsequently ordered that all Feng Shui masters be executed and specially composed fake Feng Shui .
When Yongle , the third emperor of the Ming ( 1403-1425 ), began building the new northern capital - Beijing , namely that part of it that is now called the Forbidden City , its architects and builders used the same fake books on Feng Shui . That is why, soon after construction, the new palaces burned to the ground.
When the Manchus came to power the 16th century Ming , they almost fell victim to incorrect Feng Shui until the Qianlong ( 1736-1795 ) took a personal interest in it and managed to restore the correct principles of Feng Shui. Thanks to his excellent Feng Shui, it is believed that Qianlong's reign was a period of prosperity and good fortune for his people.
Many Feng Shui masters kept their formulas secret, jealously guarding them. Old masters passed them on from mouth to mouth to their favorite students or close relatives.
Feng Shui - has resurfaced all over the world .
WHAT ARE FLYING STARS?
Flying Stars Feng Shui is a popular Feng Shui technique that deals with the aspects of time . It complements the spatial dimension in the concept of Feng Shui and provides a method for calculating the luck of each corner of each room in any given year, month or twenty year period. In addition, the Flying Stars Feng Shui technique provides a specific method for drawing up a natal chart for each building, house or apartment.
Feng Shui method , known as San Yuan ( Flying Stars ), there are 9 time periods. Each period lasts for 20 years , a complete cycle takes 180 years. According to the Chinese calendar, we are currently going through Period 8 , which began , 2004 and will end in 2024 . The number " 8 " is the "reigning" number of this period.
In the 8th period, which will last until 2024 , 4 of the 9 Flying Stars have a negative energy potential - these are 2, 3, 5 and 7 , and the remaining 5 stars have a positive one.
One of the main symbols reminiscent of the ancient origins of Feng Shui is the nine-sectored Luo Shu , which is usually associated with the divine turtle.
Legend has it that four thousand years ago, a divine turtle swam Luo the Bagua . The image on the tortoiseshell dates back to 2200 BC.
In a nine-sector Lo Shu the numbers are arranged in such a way that the sum of any three numbers taken vertically, horizontally or diagonally is equal to 15 . This is the number of days it takes the Moon to go from new moon to full moon. Therefore, numbers reflect the passage of time in a certain way. Every year the Flying Stars “fly” to a new place, changing the annual energy of space.
The arrangement of numbers 1 to 9 in the nine-sector Luo Shu forms the basis of the Feng Shui formulas . The sequential combination of numbers placed along the Lo Shu square forms a symbol that is very reminiscent of the important signs of Indian astrology and looks exactly like the seal of the spirit of the planet Saturn in ancient Hebrew magic.
FLYING STARS 2020
Flying
stars mean numbers from 1 to 9 , located in the magic square of Lo-shu .
The numbers on the grid shift, that is, they change over time. The method of changing them is the basis of the Feng Shui method. Each day, month, year and each twenty-year period corresponds to its own arrangement of numbers in the square. Astrological year 2020 (February 4, 2020 – February 4, 2021) is the year of the White (Metal) Rat . In the Chinese calendar, the year is indicated by a pair of two elements: Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. 2020 Year of the Metal Rat represents Yang Metal (Heavenly Stem) combined with Yin Water (Earth Branch – Rat).
What Feng Shui will the Flying Stars bring for 2020?
To analyze and predict events occurring in an apartment, house or office, a natal chart using the Flying Stars . On the plan of an apartment, house or office, divided into sectors using the Lo Shu square , you need to superimpose the Flying Stars diagram, and then rotate it so that the directions in the square coincide with the directions of your house, determined by the compass.
In 2020, the Flying Stars are positioned as follows:
Northeast sector - Unit
The unit is usually associated with the success of endeavors, victory, and good luck. It means intelligence and wisdom, prospects for further education, career development and prosperity, symbolizes well-being and the beginning of something new.
Strong activation of the Unit occurs due to frequent spending time in the northeastern sector. Also, its energies will be fueled by objects and objects related to the element of Water : a home fountain, an aquarium , blue and black objects, mirrors . To activate the Unit , you can use items of the Metal : figurines of a dragon, a turtle , a figurine of the Laughing Buddha with a gold bar.
If your front door is in the northeast sector , good news and numerous travel opportunities await you in 2020. If your workplace is in this zone, you will be valued and respected at work.
Southern sector – Deuce
In the eighth period, the Two is negative and can bring health problems. In 2020, the southern sector, where the “ star of diseases ” Deuce has settled, is best avoided. Since the element of the south is Fire , and Fire “gives birth” to Soil, the energy of the Two-Soil intensifies. Avoid Fire energy in this sector. Do not place red, burgundy or triangular-shaped objects in this sector.
The traditional “cure” for Two is a metal air bell made of 6 hollow tubes Shi energy . Two belong to the element of Soil , which Metal depletes with a bell. Number 6 is also Metal, and it is Big Metal - a powerful “heavenly” trigram Qian . Just do not forget that air bells should be hung against walls, and not in doorways, not above the heads of people sitting, and not above the bed.
You can also hang copper, bronze Chinese pagodas, bells or a bunch of six metal coins the southern to drain this star. Also use health talismans ( bamboo, turtle, crane ).
In 2020, the Southern sector of the house comes under the influence of the dangerous star " Three Killers " ( Tri Sha) , which attracts violence and robbery. Therefore, it is undesirable to start rearranging or repairing in the southern sector, drilling, sawing, knocking, do not rebuild this part of the house, but keep it in complete peace. Do not sit with your back in this direction for a long time, it is better to face it. To neutralize the Three Killers, it is recommended to place three crystal balls .
In 2020, Sui Po will also be the south , which is always located opposite the God of the Year (Tai-Sui). This star should not be “irritated” by repairs and other noisy activities. Do not sit with your back in this direction for a long time, it is better to face it.
Northern sector – Troika
Wooden star Troika - the “ star of quarrels ” in 2020 falls into the Northern sector of the house, where the energy of Water . Three brings conflicting energy to any relationship, especially love. In this sector, it is necessary to avoid the water element (Water “spawns” Wood), while the fire element is recommended.
According to the cycle of birth and destruction of the 5 elements , the element of Wood - Three is depleted by the element of Fire and destroyed by the element of Metal. Metal is white, any metals as such (especially gold), round shapes. A good amulet against the effects of the Three would be a figurine of the Laughing Buddha with a gold bar or a large bag.
Protection from the Three can be anything that belongs to the Fire element - bright light, red color, triangular shapes. A good way to reduce the negativity of the Three is to use red candles and bright lamps. In the Northern sector of a house or apartment, it is good to place paintings in which red color predominates.
In the north in 2020, the God of the Year ( Tai-Sui ) or Grand Duke Jupiter is also located - this is the spatial energy of Feng Shui, which is considered neither “malefic” nor “auspicious”, but “problematic”. It always occupies the compass sector of the animal that gives its name to the year.
In 2020, Tai-Sui is in the Rat sector - North . Several important Feng Shui taboos are associated with Tai Sui: do not stand facing the God of the Year for a long time, so as not to “offend” him. But on the other hand, if you sit with your back to the God of the Year, you will enjoy his protection. Throughout the year, do not make any changes or start repairs in this sector.
Southwestern sector – Four
In the year of the Metal Rat, Four enters the southwestern sector of the house, where the energy of the Soil reigns, which patronizes good luck in love (in creating a family) and in all activities related to art, science, and culture.
Four is the element of Wood . According to the cycle of birth and destruction, which describes the relationship between the 5 Elements, Water gives birth to Wood, and Wood destroys Soil. You can enhance your love luck by activating the southwestern sector with love symbols - pairs of birds, a dragon and a phoenix. To maintain the energy of the sector, use a vessel with water, bamboo stems in water, fresh flowers in a vase and other objects of the element of the star - Wood .
Eastern sector – Yellow Five
In 2020, the Flying Star Yellow Five , the most dangerous star, causing all kinds of losses and accidents , occupies the eastern sector of the house. Yellow Five can cause serious tragedies and even catastrophes when it affects the sector in which your bedroom or front door of the house is located.
The most powerful antidote to the destructive energy of the Yellow Five is the Five Elements Pagoda , in which the soil is symbolically “sharpened” into metal. You can also “drain” the Five with an air bell made of 6 metal tubes . You should not light candles in this sector of the house, since Fire “gives birth” to Soil, and Five is a soil star. The most powerful way to neutralize the energy of the Yellow Five is considered to be a vessel with water, coins and salt, which is placed in the sector of the star, regularly renewing the water in it. It is better to remove any items related to the element of Fire from the Eastern sector in 2020.
Five is the only star that does not have a trigram, and therefore is considered unpredictable. It is recommended, if possible, to leave this sector of the house alone; it is better not to start repairs, due to the danger of sudden health problems or accidents.
Southeast sector – Six
In 2020, the southeastern sector will be ruled by the auspicious Flying Star Six - the “heavenly” star that is responsible for happiness and success. The Six is considered to bring " heavenly luck " because it corresponds to the " Heaven " ( Qian ) trigram.
The element of the Six is Metal , the Southeast is the element of Wood, this creates a conflict in the southeastern sector. According to the cycle of birth and destruction of the 5 elements, Metal destroys Wood. The traditional talisman for activating the Six is a bunch of six Chinese coins . You can place Yin water feature (a closed vessel with water), several objects made of ceramics, natural stone, crystal in the eastern sector, put a monkey in this area, and a figurine of an elephant, symbolizing wisdom, strength, fertility and protection of the home.
The center of an apartment, house or office is Seven
In 2020, close attention must be paid to the center of the apartment, house or office. It is in this sector that the Flying Star Seven - the star of thefts, violence and robberies . This star is completely out of place in the bedroom; it causes strong emotions and passionate arguments.
According to the Chinese metaphysical system of interaction of 5 elements, Metal - Seven is depleted by Water . Therefore, to protect the house from the unfavorable energy of the Seven, Feng Shui masters recommend placing a Yin water feature (a closed vessel with water) in the center of the house for the whole year, which will drain the energy of the Seven. A traditional means of weakening the energy of the Seven is 3 or 4 branches of bamboo in a glass vase with water.
If you have to live in a central room in 2020, the principle of “silence is golden” should become the main one for the whole year. Place paired figures of animals in the center of the apartment, symbolizing protection: rhinoceroses, elephants with tusks and raised trunks, or Foo dogs . Animals must “look” at the front door.
Northwestern sector - Eight
Eight, , will be in the northwestern sector of an apartment, house or office . This is a very favorable money star, the positive influence of which is enhanced by the fact that its number coincides with the number of the period ( 2004-2024 ). During this period, the best expectations are associated with the Eight: luck, success, prosperity, wealth, abundance.
The Star can be activated by objects of the element of the star itself - Soil and its supporting element - Fire . These are objects of yellow, sand and brown colors, candles, incense sticks and aroma lamps, a fireplace, bright lamps, figures and figurines made of ceramics, clay, natural stone and crystal.
Among the most powerful activators of the Eight, use the Money Tree to attract wealth and good luck. A traditional talisman that activates the positive energy of the Soil is a crystal ball , the effectiveness of which increases if light is directed at it.
Western sector of an apartment, house or office – Nine
Nine the Western sector of the apartment (house) in 2020 The element of nine is Fire . This means that everyone who spends a long time in the west of an office or apartment will experience the beneficial influence of this star throughout the year. Nine will provide bright results in all areas of life.
However, Nine is not “friendly” with the native energies of the West. According to the cycle of birth and destruction of the 5 elements, Fire destroys Metal - the energy of the West. For correction, you can place several objects made of ceramics , clay, and natural stone in the western sector.
strengthen the energy of Nine with the help of Fire - the element of the star, and the verses of Wood . Bright lighting, candles, red and orange objects, wooden figurines or wooden household items. From Feng Shui talismans, you can install a money tree . The best activator of Nine energy is the image of nine dragons .
There are three ancient Nine Dragon Walls in China. The most famous one, which depicts 9 writhing dragons, is located in Beijing , in the Forbidden City and serves a protective role. It is located in front of the southern gate of the Palace of Serenity and Longevity and reflects possible “attacks” on the Forbidden City by evil spirits and any negative energy. It was built in 1773 when Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty was renovating the Palace. The wall stands on a marble base, its length is 29.4 meters and its height is 3.5 meters. It depicts nine dragons playing with pearls over the waves of the ocean.
Every year for the past thirteen years I have changed the Feng Shui of our apartment according to the Flying Stars and noticed that everything done to awaken the Chi really brings positive results.
Feng Shui masters recommend awakening the energy of every corner of your apartment, home or office, as well as activating the favorable aspects of the world.
There is nothing mysterious or supernatural about Feng Shui Feng Shui also has nothing to do with magic. Don't think of Feng Shui as a spiritual or religious practice. This method has existed for about 4 thousand years , and if used correctly, you will feel that Feng Shui “works”.
As the Chinese say: “Fate comes first, Luck comes second, and Feng Shui comes third.”
Whatever the energies around us, the main source of everything beautiful and joyful is ourselves, our inner state, which creates our reality!
I wish you, dear readers, all kinds of luck and prosperity in 2020!
