A complex was opened in Taganrog on the site of the monastery of the cell of St. Elder Paul

A saint lived here

On May 12, the grand opening of the courtyard of the righteous Paul of Taganrog, recreated after reconstruction, will take place. The cell, courtyard, and bas-relief icon of the righteous Paul will be consecrated by Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk, Head of the Don Metropolis.

The celebrations will begin at 9.00 with the Divine Liturgy in the Church of All Saints, then the Bishop will perform a memorial service (lithium) in the chapel at the Old City Cemetery, after which the consecration of the cell and courtyard will take place.

Righteous Pavel of Taganrog is a saint who lived in Taganrog in the 30s of the 19th century. Born in the Chernigov province, into a noble family. At the age of 25, he went to wander around holy places, distributing his property and setting the serfs free. In his search for God and a righteous life, the future elder came to Taganrog, where he worked as a loader in the port and in other hard jobs. He attended divine services every day, and soon his holy life became noticeable to those around him. The feat of eldership began at the time when the ascetic settled on Depaldovsky (now Turgenevsky Lane) in Taganrog in a small house with an adjacent courtyard.

Since then, this place has begun to attract people seeking help, spiritual advice and simply a compassionate attitude. After his death in 1879, the elder’s cell was preserved by a community of novices under the leadership of Elder Maria Velichko. And after her death the community did not disintegrate, although it was persecuted. The house, called the elder’s cell, has miraculously survived to this day.

In 1999, the canonization of Paul of Taganrog took place as a locally revered saint, his relics were transferred to the St. Nicholas Church in Taganrog, and in 2021 the Church glorified righteous Paul for general veneration.

Since 2014, painstaking work has begun to recreate the historical appearance of one of the main holy places in the South of Russia. This work was headed by the dean of the Taganrog district, Archpriest Alexey Lysikov. The interior of the saint's cell was recreated in the features of the time when Elder Maria Velichko and the last novices of the righteous Paul lived there. Now in the cell you can see shrines that belonged to the ascetic, icons that he carried with him on long pilgrimages, household items of the elder and his novices, images consecrated by John of Kronstadt specifically as a gift to the community.

If the cell was always preserved for pilgrims, the courtyard underwent more changes and reconstructions in the post-war period. Now the area is 1200 sq. m, which was originally used by the elder and the community, was returned for visits and excursions. The area of all restored and newly built premises is 600 sq. m. m.

At the entrance to the courtyard in the center of the square, a bronze bas-relief icon of the elder appears - righteous Paul seems to be greeting the pilgrims himself. The wide courtyard is paved with sandstone, traditional for these places; carts with food for those in need left from here. The entrance to the deep basement-glacier, where supplies were stored and distributed by the elder to everyone who came, has been restored.

The courtyard complex was supplemented by a pilgrimage refectory, where up to 80 people can dine at the same time. The covered wooden gallery along the perimeter of the courtyard and the facade of the two-story refectory is a traditional element of the southern Russian style of the 19th century, which was adhered to by restorers and architects working under the leadership of Archpriest Alexei Lysikov. The Little Russian style will also be supported by the plants planted here. The cell is decorated with flowers, shrubs and trees, traditional for the Don land and the Chernigov region - the birthplace of the saint.

The renovated cell and courtyard will complete a single historical complex of objects related to the life and veneration of the righteous Paul. Three places in Taganrog, united by this name, help you touch history and find out how St. Paul lived and accomplished his feat.

St. Nicholas Church keeps the relics of the righteous Paul as well as the cannonballs of the Crimean War within its walls, and under the ancient arches of the museum - artifacts of the history and culture of the Azov region. The Taganrog necropolis, where Elder Pavel was buried, preserves a chapel with the graves of the elder and his novices. The Church of All Saints with its amazing mosaic iconostasis remembers the days of the death and burial of the elder.

Now both the courtyard and the cell of the righteous will greet every pilgrim in order to immerse them in the special atmosphere of the presence of St. Paul of Taganrog.

"Pillar from earth to heaven"

Two years ago, a church-wide glorification of the blessed elder Pavel of Taganrog took place. With his life he embodied a vivid and sought-after example of the feat of holiness in the world, and the Don land forever found in him its patron in heaven. June 20 is the day of remembrance of the elder, in honor of his glorification as a locally revered saint.

Holy wanderer

Blessed Pavel of Taganrog

Pavel Stozhkov was born on November 21, 1792 and was named in honor of St. Paul, Patriarch of Constantinople, confessor, whose memory is celebrated on November 19. The boy’s parents, Pavel and Paraskeva Stozhkov, were wealthy nobles from the Krolevets district of the Chernigov province and owned a large number of peasants. It is obvious that they were also pious people. However, they dreamed of giving Pavel, like his older brother, a good education and providing him with a comfortable life. The blessed one himself said: “My whole desire from my youth was to pray to God, and my intention was to go to holy places.”

At the age of 16, he left his father’s house and went on pilgrimage to holy places, and stayed like that for a whole year. When Paul returned home, his father severely punished him and forbade him from going to holy places in the future. The saint himself later admitted that his father did not share his aspirations, but was unable to change them: when Paul turned 25, he gave his son his part of the inheritance and, blessing him to do with him at his personal discretion, let him go. First of all, Paul granted freedom to all his peasants, and distributed the money remaining from the sale of property to the poor. After this, he was able to fulfill his old dream - to travel to holy places.

It is known that this pilgrimage of Blessed Paul lasted 10 years. During this time, he was able to visit many holy monasteries, in each of which he left significant donations. Especially (and subsequently) he loved to visit the Solovetsky Monastery, the Kiev-Pechersk and Pochaev monasteries. About the latter he said this: “Whoever is in Kyiv, but Pochaev passes, will not be in Kyiv.”

Second homeland

At the age of 35, Pavel appears in the city of Taganrog and remains here forever. For a long time he lived with people, in different apartments. His last refuge was an apartment in Depaldovsky (now Turgenevsky) Lane, where he not only had his own corner cell, but rented an entire house. The blessed one dressed very simply, wore peasant clothes and spoke the Little Russian language, so it was difficult to even guess about his noble origin.

Pavel loved to light lamps and wipe icons - he carried a small stool and a towel with him

Naturally endowed with great physical strength, Pavel hired himself out for day labor and worked without sparing himself. However, with the sound of the gospel, he immediately left everything and hurried to the temple, and did not miss a single service. Most of all he liked the Assumption Cathedral, for which he purchased many icons, lamps and made a number of other donations. Pavel himself loved to light lamps and wipe icons - he always carried a small bench and a white towel with him. They also said that when chapels were added to the cathedral (at that time Paul was already in old age), he himself carried the bricks upstairs, inspiring others with his example.

One day, the rector of the cathedral, who already treated the blessed one well, during the Great Entrance at the liturgy, saw Paul in a light, shining vestment, like that of a bishop. After this, he began to treat the righteous man even better. True, not everyone from the church clergy revered the elder so much - he also had ill-wishers.

When the elder no longer worked, after the service he had the custom of going to the market. Pavel invariably walked with a stick in his hand and two canvas bags over his shoulders. The merchants tried to invite him to their place, because they knew that after this their trade would be successful. Many gave him food as alms, but the blessed one did not take it from everyone, and, to their great sorrow, he even drove some away with a stick.

Cell and the elder's entourage

Cell of Blessed Pavel of Taganrog

When Elder Paul settled in a separate house, he began to bless some people to live with him for a while, while others stayed forever. So gradually a community of its own began to be created around him. The elder was distinguished by great severity, did not give any concessions to anyone, and he especially did not like disobedience. However, when visitors came to him, he denounced their sins in an original way: in the presence of one of the novices, he called these sins as if they were characteristic of this novice. The latter only shrugged his shoulders guiltily and asked for forgiveness, but the visitor himself understood that his own sins were thus exposed, and he left with spiritual benefit.

Concerned mainly with his inner life, Blessed Paul attached very little importance to cleanliness in his cell. He blessed his novices to clean his house only once a week - on Saturdays. Moreover, he ordered all the garbage to be collected in bags, which stood in the house for another three days, and then the garbage was burned. He did not give his blessing to throw it away. The saint slept on a narrow bench, which he did not cover with anything, and instead of a pillow he put some of his clothes under his head. He slept very little, and especially valued night prayer.

Blessed Paul especially did good to prisoners

On the walls in the elder’s cell there were many icons, with lamps burning all the time; near others on benches there were jugs of sand, in which a huge number of candles were also constantly burning. Even in the saint’s cell there were always many bags and baskets with all kinds of provisions, which he distributed to needy visitors.

Blessed Paul especially did good to prisoners. Every week he sent all kinds of food to the prison, took an interest in the sick and helped them intensively. When one of the prisoners died, the elder himself bought a coffin, clothes and everything necessary for burial. Thanks to his care, all prisoners were buried in a Christian manner.

Having fallen in love with the feat of pilgrimage from his youth, the elder did not abandon it even in adulthood. Usually he took several novices with him, and together they went to worship holy places. At the same time, Elder Paul attached great importance to all the hardships and difficulties that had to be endured during the journey. Over time, when he himself could no longer go on such campaigns, the saint loved to bless his novices on them, always helping them along the way in an invisible way.

Miracles and predictions

Lifetime portrait of Pavel Taganrogsky

The Taganrog elder Pavel, or “Pavlo Pavlovich,” as many called him, was endowed by God with many spiritual gifts. He also had the gift of clairvoyance - many of the blessed one’s words subsequently came true. So, for example, he predicted to Hieromonk Damian (Casatos) that he would eventually become a great man, such that “no one could be greater.” Many years later, this hieromonk truly became the Patriarch of Jerusalem.

When the young girl Maria Velichko came to the elder for a blessing for marriage, he responded by telling her something that Maria did not expect to hear at all: “Oh, little girl, and you will die with me...”. And indeed, the girl remained to live with the elder until the end of her days, first as his novice, and then, after the death of the blessed one, she led his community and herself became famous as an elder.

Sometimes the disease receded after the elder beat the patient with a stick on the sore spot.

Another man came to ask Elder Paul for his blessing to enter a monastery. He told him to first climb onto the stove and sit there. So the young man spent 12 days on a hot stove, after which, having passed this test, he was released by the elder to the monastery. Subsequently, he became a good monk on Mount Athos, where he labored until the end of his days.

Blessed Pavel Pavlovich healed many people, often when even the doctors abandoned the patient. Sometimes the disease would subside after the elder gave the patient a strong beating on the sore spot with his stick.

One man, whose wife was dying at home, having learned about an unusual miracle worker, went to him from afar with his last hope. However, as soon as he appeared on the threshold, he immediately received a stick on the head from the elder and heard from him: “What have you come for?! Your wife has already made dumplings for you at home.” Not understanding anything, the man went home. But he was even more surprised when he actually found his healthy wife at home, who had already prepared him a bowl of dumplings. As it turned out, healing came to her at the very moment when Elder Paul hit her husband on the head with a stick.

And there were many similar cases, each more incredible than the other.

Death and glorification of the saint

The days of the old man’s earthly life were coming to an end. It is known that shortly before the death of the blessed one, the righteous John of Kronstadt visited him. The surviving tradition testifies that the latter greeted Paul with the words: “Hello, pillar from earth to heaven,” to which the elder replied: “Hello, you too, sun from west to east.”

Blessed Paul reposed on March 23, 1879, having shortly before received the Holy Mysteries of Christ. On the very night when the elder died, the famous Taganrog archpriest, who did not like the righteous man during his lifetime, saw angels carrying someone’s holy soul to heaven with joyful chants. When asked whose soul it was, he received the answer: “Pavel Pavlovich.” After this, the archpriest bitterly repented of his bad attitude towards the elder.

Paul's death itself was also marked by another miracle. When he reposed, many saw a yellowish shadow pass over his entire body, after which the body itself became white as snow, and joy shone on the face of the newly deceased.

A rainbow suddenly appeared in the clear sky; later, in the same place, a cross formed from the clouds

The elder predicted that on the day of his burial there would be a lot of flies. By this he wanted to say that a huge number of people would come to say goodbye to him - “like flies.” And indeed, there were so many people at the elder’s burial that many had to stand in line for several hours to approach the tomb and say goodbye to Blessed Paul. Many cases of healing took place here.

Elder Paul enjoyed great veneration among people during his lifetime, but after his death the number of admirers only increased. Thus, another word of the saint came true: “Even though I die, my place will not remain empty... My bush will never be empty.” Not only the grave of the elder, but also his cell, which still receives many visitors, became a place of pilgrimage. Over time, through the efforts of benefactors and admirers of the blessed one, a chapel was built at the cemetery.

The long-awaited glorification of Elder Paul as a locally revered saint took place on June 20, 1999. On this day, his relics were solemnly transferred to the St. Nicholas Church in Taganrog. “They carried Paul to the grave, and from the grave to the cathedral,” the blessed one often liked to sing before his death. The glorification of the blessed one was also accompanied by some miracles: on a fine day in a clear sky, a rainbow suddenly formed around the sun; Later, at the same place where the celebrations took place, a cross formed from the clouds in the sky. The church-wide glorification of the holy elder Paul took place in 2016.

Instructions of Elder Pavel of Taganrog

Blessed Paul instructed those who came to him with many pieces of advice, some of which have survived to our times. It is known that he highly valued works of mercy and charity, especially those related to the decoration of holy churches. He insisted that there should always be enough lamp oil, candles and incense in the houses of believers, so that the icon lamp would always glow. He taught to honor church holidays and Sundays; besides them, he also especially revered Friday, and advised putting off all vain affairs on this day. He highly extolled the feat of pilgrimage, the pilgrimage of Christ for the sake of bearing all the hardships and hardships associated with it.

Other instructions of the saint have also been preserved:

  • Pray firmly and persistently. A bad feeling will tell you that this prayer is not sincere, that it is full of doubts, but you still pray; If you do something bad, don’t lose heart and pray, because who can help you with this? What kind of person? No one like God, and you pray to Him, pray and always pray. He truly has eternal and indestructible strength!
  • Always pray to God. Seek consolation and pleasure in prayer. For the sake of prayer, give up both sleep and food. Prayerful wakefulness is considered the most grace-filled time.
  • Above all sacrifices, venerate the Bloodless Sacrifice, offered in churches for our sins according to the institution of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • To love spiritual purity more than physical purity, strive for it with all the strength of the soul and support it relentlessly with good deeds, labors and prayers.
  • Be a good zealot for Orthodoxy! From the apostles to this day this Church has stood and, despite the weaknesses of both the shepherds and the flock, it is holy and, except in it, there is no truth anywhere.

The cell of the Holy Elder Paul of Taganrog has been successfully privatized. is next ...

Open letter.

It would be possible not to write about this: what difference does it make who is the owner of Elder Paul’s monastery in Taganrog on Turgenevsky Lane No. 82, if not for one “but!”, namely: a global reconstruction of the cell of Elder Paul of Taganrog is planned.

“On February 11, 2014, a visiting meeting of the Architectural and Art Commission of the Don Metropolis took place in Taganrog, headed by Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk. Before the start of the work of the Commission, Bishop Metropolitan performed a prayer in the cell of St. Blessed Paul of the Taganrog district, Archpriest Alexey Lysikov, rector of the St. Nicholas Church, Archpriest Alexander Klyunkov, secretary of the Rostov diocesan administration, Hieromonk Artemy (Kuzmin), chairman of the Architectural and Art Commission, Archpriest Valery Voloshchuk, head of the architectural and construction department Rostov diocese Pyotr Kolobaev, assistant to the Holy Don Starocherkassky Monastery for work with museums, Hiermon Gabriel (Zvyagintsev).

The main issue on the commission's agenda was the preparation of the reconstruction of St. Nicholas Church. A presentation of the project of the St. Nicholas Church after reconstruction was prepared for the meeting. The participants discussed the main stages of the work.

Proposals for the reconstruction of the cell of St. Blessed Paul of Taganrog were presented to the Commission for consideration .” (Emphasis added) Author: Evgenia Averyanova.

The last proposal of the commission aroused my greatest interest, since I, as a builder, know that reconstruction can begin and, firstly, never end, leaving behind only ruins, and secondly, change the appearance of the object beyond recognition. This made me take a closer look at this issue and try to understand on the basis of what rights this commission is going to reconstruct the farmstead of Elder Paul. I knew that Elder Paul’s farmstead had several owners and co-owners, but I was never interested in who they were.

We will consider the very concept of the word - reconstruction - at the end of this article.

Therefore, dear reader, be patient and read the article to the end. And we, in turn, will go a little deeper into history and, for starters, turn to the life of Elder Paul.

So: “The house where Elder Paul lived and died is now called in Taganrog the farmstead of Elder Paul, or, as is popular among the people, a cell, although a cell is only one room located in the house in which the elder prayed. …. It was a separate house, which Elder Pavel rented as an apartment for 75 rubles. per year, the owner of the house was called Efim Smirnov.”

“When the elder died, one noble wife who visited the elder during his lifetime was Baroness E.K. Taube, - bought the property where Elder Paul’s cell was located, made good repairs at her own expense and gave this farmstead to the full ownership of the elder’s novices, of whom Maria Velichkova took the place of the eldest and became the leader of the rest in strictly ascetic, following the example of the elder, life."

Baroness E.K. bill of sale Taube was compiled in the name of Ulyana Lysogorskaya; later, apparently, the farmstead was completely or partially rewritten in the name of Maria Velichko, who suffered the main hardships and hardships in preserving both the memory and the farmstead of Elder Paul for posterity. Maria Velichko died in 1943. in the 91st year of her life, after her death, the farmstead of Elder Paul was rewritten and constantly passed on by inheritance between simple, honest believers who risked being repressed for possessing such property, and only thanks to their courage the farmstead has survived to this day.

If Elder Paul's compound belonged to a religious community or church, it would have been recognized as a cult and, most likely, confiscated by the Soviet authorities.

But life does not stand still, and homeownership at the address lane. Turgenevsky No. 82 was constantly passed from one heir to another, and by 1993. there were six co-owners in the farmstead, each with their own share.

Back in the 70s of the last century, this household belonged to Vasily Petrovich Sklyarov and Efrosinya Petrovna Sklyarova. After the death of Efrosinya Petrovna Sklyarova, who died on January 4, 1993, her heir, according to the will, citizen A.F. Klyunkov, takes over her share. The will was registered by the state notary of the 1st Taganrog notary office of the Rostov region. according to the register No. 2-1370 dated May 14, 1991. Borisenko L.V. Here it would be appropriate to pay attention to the date of the will. The fact is that the citizen is also Archpriest A.F. Klyunkov. was sent for obedience to Taganrog in 1989. rector of the Church of St. Nicholas, already in 1990. he was elected as a deputy of the city council, and the next year he took the first steps aimed at privatizing the cell of Elder Paul.

02/17/1993 Sklyarov V.P. draws up a donation agreement for his share to citizen A.F. Klyunkov.

In parallel with these acquisitions of citizen A.F. Klyunkov, other heirs along their lines also receive their shares, these are: M.V. Sklyarov, I.V. Sklyarov, S.F. Krasnikova. and Prokhorova T.I.

December 6, 1994 I.V. Sklyarov filed a claim with the Taganrog City People's Court. and Sklyarov M.V. to citizen A.F. Klyunkov on the allocation of their combined share, and if allocation is not possible, then payment of monetary compensation, which citizen A.F. Klyunkov is against. didn't mind.

The court composed of presiding Ivanchenko M.V. under the secretary Rogulaeva M.A., established and then decided: Decision 2-544. Collect from Klyunkov A.F. in favor of Sklyarov M.V. and Sklyarova I.V. compensation for 2/13 of the home ownership in the amount of 3,545,956 rubles. (three million five hundred forty-five thousand five hundred fifty-six) rubles.

After payment of compensation, homeownership on the lane. Turgenevsky No. 82 in Taganrog should be considered to belong to: A.F. Klyunkov. – 15/18 parts, Prokhorova T.I. – 1/12 parts, Krasnikova S.F. – 1/12 parts. Compensation was paid on December 13, 1994. the decision came into force on December 24, 1994. Signature stamp.

But this, dear reader, is not the end of privatization, since there are still many co-owners in the compound, I will note on my own that none of the co-owners demanded from A.F. Klyunkov. share the income that he received in the form of donations to the elder’s farmstead, but we’ll talk about this a little later.

In 2011 citizen Klyunkov A.F. contacted the Taganrog City Municipal Institution on the issue of privatization of a share of the land plot, at the address: Taganrog, lane. Turgenevsky, 82 he was ordered to collect certificates of affiliation from the Municipal Unitary Enterprise BTI and Justice.

With the collection of certificates from citizen A.F. Klyunkov. Difficulties arose because Sklyarovs M.V. and I.V. Due to their lack of legal knowledge, they did not register the court decision dated December 6, 1994. at the BTI in Taganrog. As a result, already citizen Klyunkov A.F. applies to the court with a statement of claim to register the decision of the city people's court dated December 6, 1994.

June 23, 2011 Magistrate of the court district No. 2 of Taganrog Panchenko E.S. under the secretary of Podolskaya I.Yu., considered in open court a civil case based on the claim of Klyunkov A.F. to Matsanyuk M.T., “this woman accepted the inheritance from Krasnikova S.F. (who died on November 17, 2010) and at that time did not have time to legally formalize her inheritance rights,” as well as to the Administration of the city of Taganrog for recognition of ownership of a share of home ownership. Another co-owner of T.I. Prokhorova will also appear in the case; further I will quote the text of the magistrate’s court decision with abbreviations, but I will try to more fully illuminate the essence of the case.

Decision, named after R.F. case 2-2-616-11

Installed:

….By entering and registering inheritance rights to a 1/12 share in the home ownership at the address: Taganrog, lane. Turgenevsky, 82 owner Prokhorova T.I. I have never lived in a home, moved in, or invested money. In 1994 the plaintiff was looking for T.I. Prokhorova. to participate in court hearings. …. Since 1994 To date, he has no information about Prokhorova. According to data from the address bureau of Prokhorov T.I. not registered in Taganrog. …..

Since 1994 Klyunkov A.F., not being the owner of the property, in good faith, openly and continuously owned and owns, as his own, 1/12 shares belonging to T.I. Prokhorova. For more than 16 years, he has been paying all the costs of maintaining this property, taking care of and maintaining the property in good condition, and investing money.

For more than 16 years, the plaintiff has been carrying out construction work to improve living conditions, as well as provide public amenities. For his personal funds, as well as his personal labor to the residential building lit. “And” they built a service extension. In a residential building lit. “And” he removed the coal stove, changed the layout of the rooms, and installed a gas boiler. As a result of construction, the total area of the residential building is lit. “A” increased and became 90 sq.m. (I’ll add on my own behalf that in the extract of the Unified State Register dated February 17, 2014, the area of the object is 64.9 sq.m.). To a residential building lit. “B” for his personal funds, with his personal labor, the extensions were built. “B1”, “B2”, “B4” vestibule. As a result of construction, the total area of the residential building is lit. “B” increased and became 46.9 sq.m. He erected buildings for household purposes: barn: lit. "G" -6.5 sq.m; lit. “L” - 13.7 sq.m.; lit. "T" - 16.2 sq.m.; which are legalized in the prescribed manner. At his personal expense, gas and water were supplied to the household, as well as a connection to sewer networks, which is confirmed by the agreed and completed projects.

The plaintiff asks to recognize his ownership of the shares of the M.V. Sklyarovs. and I.V., since he paid them compensation, and also exclude T.I. Prokhorova from the list of owners due to acquisitive prescription.

The fact of bona fide possession by virtue of Art. 234 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation assumes that the plaintiff did not know and should not have known about the illegality of his possession. (The question arises? - who and where did Citizen A.F. Klyunkov look for if he did not know that he owned someone else’s property) The good faith of the plaintiff’s ownership of the entire disputed house is confirmed by the fact that for 16 years of personal ownership of 1/12 of the disputed home ownership, none of the third parties did not reclaim the property from her possession, including the title owners and their other possible legal successors. The fact of open ownership is confirmed by the fact that the plaintiff did not hide the fact that he and his family members owned and lived in the said house, stored his property in it, used it for other personal purposes, and also paid taxes and other obligatory payments.

The court's decision:

The claims of Alexander Fedorovich Klyunkov are satisfied.

Exclude from the number of owners of the household located at the address: Taganrog, lane. Turgenevsky, 82 Sklyarova M.V., Sklyarova I.V., Prokhorova T.I.

The decision was made in final form on June 28, 2011.

Magistrate Panchenko, the decision came into force on July 11, 2011. Signature stamp.

As a result of the long and hard labors of the “righteous”, citizen Klyunkov A.F. united five shares of home ownership in Taganrog, along the lane. Turgenevsky No. 82.. It has not yet been possible for Alexander Fedorovich to privatize the last sixth - 1/12 share, which belonged to Krasnikova Serafima Fedorovna, who after her death was inherited by Matsanyuk M.T.; It is not clear from the court decision whether Matsanyuk M.T. retained her share, but today the owner is registered with justice as a co-owner of 1/12 share, but under a different name. I will also note that these co-owners, apparently, never all lived together; one person lived at this address, looking after the yard and never made any attempts to allocate their shares, since the yard was more public than private, until citizen A.F. Klyunkov appeared. The first co-owners: the Sklyarovs Vasily Petrovich and Efrosinya Petrovna, apparently, gave away their shares, thinking that they were doing something pleasing to God, since the priest “Creator” appeared before them. But Krasnikova S.F. already understood what was happening, as a result of which she tried not to leave the courtyard once again, expressed grievances, without saying anything. I had the opportunity to talk with her several times, but at that time I did not pay attention to it, thinking that Serafima Fedorovna was an elderly person, and such people are usually always dissatisfied with something.

Believe me, it’s not so pleasant for me to delve into someone else’s dirty laundry; if it were a simple home ownership and an ordinary everyday conflict over the division of property, I would not do it. But this is not an ordinary house, but the farmstead of Elder Pavel of Taganrog and, as the court established, citizen A.F. Klyunkov. and members of his family owned and lived in this farmstead since 1994. for 16 years, he kept his property there and used it for personal purposes.

The owner of the farmstead is citizen A.F. Klyunkov. was until November 18, 2013, (after which the farmstead became the property of the religious community at the Church of St. Nicholas in Taganrog, of which he is also the founder). In general, such privatization reminds me more of a raider takeover.

I will remind the reader that since 1994. to 2013 for 19 years, twice a year, and since 1999. three times a year, pilgrims came to his private farmstead, and even now pilgrims come in crowded buses from all over the Southern Federal District, police officers at this time block roads and serve in the adjacent territories, they are helped by the Cossacks and all possible charitable organizations and They do all this selflessly, for the sake of the memory of Elder Pavel of Taganrog. And local admirers of the elder every day, without stinting, bring and bring their donations to Elder Paul.

As a result, Alexander Fedorovich had to install a candle stall in the courtyard, in the front garden, so that the place would not be empty in vain for the convenience of serving visitors. But the capacity of both Elder Paul’s cell itself and the courtyard has limited space, and on holidays there are very long queues to visit the cell. The question of reconstruction suggests itself; it is necessary to rebuild something in order to ensure the through flow of pilgrims. And here they are still collecting documents for the canonization of Elder Paul on an all-Russian scale, and to modernize a private farmstead, whoever will give the money, and even if you start breaking anything yourself, you will have to take responsibility. And Alexander Fedorovich finds a solution: 11/18/2013. in the Federal State Registration Service, Cadastre - a new copyright holder is registered at the address Taganrog lane. Turgenevsky No. 82: “Local religious organization Orthodox Parish of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Taganrog, Rostov Region Religious organization “Rostov-on-Don Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate)”, TIN 6154040149. This religious organization at the time of registration on 02.02.2002. consisted of 10 people with zero share capital, 11 members and its leader is citizen A.F. Klyunkov, who joined on 03.03.2005, who alone, as an individual, can act without a power of attorney. And just three months later, on February 11, 2014. A visiting commission gathers to consider proposals for the reconstruction of the cell of Elder Pavel of Taganrog.

Alexander Fedorovich, while remaining the actual owner of the elder’s cell, shifts the burden of legal responsibility for the future fate of the cell onto ordinary believers, who do not even have the right to vote, because ordinary new owners, even for the sake of formality, were not invited to the retreat.

Yes, citizen Klyunkov A.F. really spent money on improving his living conditions at the address: lane. Turgenevsky No. 82, built about five booths with an approximate area of 36 sq.m., changed the layout of the rooms, installed gas, water, sewerage, inserted plastic windows, built a canopy for pilgrims, and installed a profitable candle shop. I don’t know how much money it costs, especially since buildings where the necessary specialization was not needed were built on a charitable basis, but I think that over the 19 years of operating the farmstead he earned much more, since at the same time he was also improving his living conditions, construction of a new house in another area of the city. At the same time, all residents of the city, including law enforcement agencies, helped him with this free of charge, a good approach to business, economic. Envy is a sin, and I do not envy, there is simply nothing to envy, moreover, as an entrepreneur, I am only for the fact that every person can earn so much that he can build himself a big and beautiful house, drive a beautiful and expensive car , but then he must preach - “Get rich, get rich and get rich again..., in short, do as I do.”

Also citizen Klyunkov A.F. is the initiator of the canonization of Elder Paul, which was carried out with gross violations of both procedural norms and the norms of archaeological excavations; the grave, due to the statute of limitations, falls under this status.

When opened, the grave turned out to be a mass grave, no examination was carried out to identify individual graves, and at the moment there is no guarantee that the relics of Elder Paul lie in the St. Nicholas Church, and for example not the soldier Emelyan, who was buried next to him in the same grave.

Looking at the composition of the visiting commission and the positions they occupy, it becomes clear that the people gathered are scientists, moreover, with a religiously-minded mindset and, it seems to me, they should understand what games they are playing, and that the words from the prayer: “ Our Elder Paul is alive” - these are not empty words, these words appeared as a result of the life experience of believers who turned to him for help. And the commission, following the lead of citizen A.F. Klyunkov, after such canonization and subsequent privatization, even in a prayer appeal asks the elder to help them in reconstructing his cell, to improve the throughput of both pilgrims and their donations.

I have written articles, which were collected together and printed in a printing house, currently distributed through the book network and via the Internet, I also made announcements in the media, sent letters and statements to various authorities, a book is being prepared for release, working title: “Emperor Alexander 1 is Elder Pavel of Taganrog - life after death.” (It is in the editing stage). A simple conclusion follows from this: the farmstead of Elder Pavel Pavlovich, located at the address: Taganrog city, Turgenevsky Lane 82, is another “ second palace” of Emperor Alexander 1 in our city and not very pleasant conclusions for citizen Klyunkov A .F., who, according to the communists, took aim at the Tsar’s palaces , I will not draw historical parallels, but after that, citizen A.F. Klyunkov one road - tonsure and repentance to the Solovetsky Monastery, Emperor Alexander 1, and later Elder Pavel of Taganrog visited there and liked it there, Elder Pavel went there on foot.

I think, the Holy Blessed Elder Pavel of Taganrog, has listened to your prayers, now it will be difficult to plead to your ignorance, and it’s up to you to decide what conclusions to draw from this.

God gave man intelligence and placed him as a kind of king over lusts and desires, so that he would always take care and learn how to possess them prudently and beneficially. Therefore, follow reason in everything, and not senseless lust; for if a blind man leads a blind man, then both will fall into a pit (Luke 6:39) “Spiritual Alphabet” chapter eight - St. Demetrius of Rostov.

Now let's look at some specialized concepts.

Instructive letter dated April 28, 1994. No. 18-14/63. On the correct interpretation of the terms: “New construction”, “Major repairs”, “Reconstruction”, “Expansion”. (Glavgosarhstroynadzor of Russia).

Reconstruction is work that leads to a change in the basic technical and economic indicators of a building or its purpose. For example, the quantity and quality of premises, construction volume and total area of the building, capacity, throughput, etc. change. In short, this is a commercial project.

We will also consider the concept of “Restoration”

Restoration is a set of measures aimed at preventing subsequent destruction and achieving optimal conditions for the long-term preservation of monuments of material culture, providing the opportunity to further discover its new, previously unknown properties.

The restoration of the house is aimed, first of all, at restoring the historical appearance of the property. At the moment, in the cell of Elder Paul there is an opportunity to restore the Russian stove that existed during the life of Elder Paul and thereby bring the internal structure of the cell closer to its original form.

I appeal to the City Duma, to the Administration of Taganrog, with the fact that this public monument has historical and museum value. The courtyard on Turgenevsky Lane No. 82 should be given museum status and, like the house of A.P. Chekhov, should be included in the historical city route, there is no escape from pilgrims, but these are already organizational issues and, from my point of view, completely solvable.

And then it will no longer matter who the legal and actual owner of the compound will be: A.F. Klyunkov, or Archpriest Alexey Lysikov, who is breathing after him, the main thing is that they will not be able to move the brick from place to place without approval, since the courtyard will have museum status.

A complex was opened in Taganrog on the site of the monastery of the cell of St. Elder Paul

On May 12, the opening of the recreated complex on the site of the cell of the holy righteous Paul of Taganrog and its solemn consecration by Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk took place in Taganrog.

A day earlier, bloggers were given a special tour of Elder Paul’s cell by Archpriest Alexei Lysikov.

In his report, Ilya Pirogov, a volunteer and blogger, shared how the event took place.

First, everyone present was introduced to the history of the unique icons in the elder’s cell, as well as ancient objects.

“In the cell you can see a fragment found from the tomb over the grave of Elder Paul in the chapel at the Old Taganrog Cemetery. The tomb, along with the old chapel, was destroyed. The fragment was found many years later in the attic of the cell. The fact that this is a genuine fragment can be confirmed thanks to an old photograph,” says Ilya Pirogov in his blog.

After which the guests were invited to the refectory room, where they were given tea and various treats. Here they also saw a wood-burning stove, although it was more of an interior decoration than a functional part.

“I would like to talk separately about the new building, which with its appearance gave rise to many rumors. The new two-story building, intended for tourists, has already been nicknamed “the hotel” by locals. Although this building, with the exception of two refectory rooms, has only a commercial purpose and is not a hotel of any kind. Walking around the building, you can see that there are no sleeping places (like in a hotel). Well, except that on the second floor there are two ancient chests; if desired, someone can take a nap on them in the hope of recharging with grace.

The building has a large kitchen, a cellar (by the way, the same one that was used by the community of admirers of the elder) and much more. Antique restored furniture here comfortably coexists with modern technological solutions. The number of pipes dazzles the eyes. It’s difficult to understand what goes where, but if you come closer, you can see that all the pipes were prudently signed by the workers,” the blogger explained.

He also said that there will be an icon-painting workshop on the territory of the complex. And in the cozy courtyard, a well has already been recreated, and at the same time modern technologies are adjacent - such as a storm drain system. But they are successfully hidden, so that the surroundings of the farmstead and the life of Elder Paul are not disturbed, and visitors can get the most out of the atmosphere of this place.
