The life of schemanun Macaria and the miracles of mother, what they ask for and the texts of prayers

Mother Macaria is a schema-nun of the Russian Orthodox Church.

During her lifetime, mother predicted many terrible troubles that awaited the whole world in the future.

In one of her miraculous visions, Theodosia received a blessing from the Mother of God herself to heal people.

Feodosia

worldly name of schemanun Macaria

The Queen of Heaven herself appeared to sick people and directed everyone to Feodosia.

With her prayers, mother helped so many not only to survive, but also to give birth to children.

Elder Makaria was born on June 11, 1926 in the small village of Karpovo, Smolensk region, into the family of Mikhail and Feodosia Artemyev. The couple had twins: a boy and a girl.

Date of birth of Mother Macaria

They decided to baptize the children the very next day because the boy was born very weak.

As soon as the boy was baptized, he died almost immediately. The girl was named Theodosia - “given by God.”

When Theodosia was taken out of the font, the hieromonk who baptized the girl said that she would be good, she would live, but not walk.

Early childhood

Feodosia's father worked on the railroad. To feed the family, the mother took work home: she sewed to order, weaved canvas. Due to constant employment, little attention was paid to the girl. At the age of 1.5, Feodosia, who had already gotten back on her feet, fell ill with an unknown disease and could no longer stand or walk for the rest of her life. On some days she remained hungry because they forgot to feed her. Feodosia crawled on her knees around the house and around the yard, picking up fallen crumbs of bread.

From an early age, Theodosia’s only consolation was prayer, which she did according to her childish understanding. The visit to the church service made a huge impression on the child. Childless sister Sophia felt sorry for her sick younger sister more than anyone else in the family. One day she took three-year-old Theodosia to church for a service. At the end of the service, they searched for Theodosia for a long time, until the priest discovered her sleeping under the altar, in the altar. At home, the child's sleeping place was on the floor, under the bed.

The parents wanted to take their sick daughter to a shelter, considering her a burden. But one day the Monk Tikhon of Kaluga appeared to them under the guise of a stove-maker. He read a prayer over Feodosia and advised the mother to leave the child in the family. Feodosia realized that it was not an ordinary person who came to them, and began to ask him to cure his legs. The monk replied that we must endure, as it pleases the Lord.

(St. Tikhon of Kaluga was the founder of the first monastery in the Kaluga land in the 15th century. Through the prayers of the miracle worker, childhood illnesses were cured. The appearance and words of the saint indicate that the fate of Theodosius was predetermined by the Heavenly Patron from childhood).

Lethargic sleep and blessing

At the age of 8, Feodosia did not wake up one day. She fell into a lethargic sleep. Thinking that their daughter had died, the parents took Feodosia to the death room at the district hospital. The appearance of the child caused doctors to doubt his death. Feodosia did not perform an autopsy to establish the cause of death. For two weeks the girl lay in a cold room next to the dead until it was time to wake up.

According to the blessed one, she spent these days in paradise with an angel and the Mother of God, who showed her the Kingdom of Heaven, and the Mother of God taught her prayers. Theodosia asked the Mother of God to heal her legs or leave her in heaven, but she heard in response that her place was on earth. The girl, who woke up from her lethargic sleep, was returned to her family. None of her relatives paid any attention to her words.

During the war

During the war, she found herself alone in German-occupied territory. The brothers were conscripted. Parents and sisters evacuated. Helpless Theodosia was hiding in a barn in a field. Food for her was snow (in winter), grass and flowers (in summer), pieces of bread from kind people. During the two years of occupation, her clothes had rotted away, her skin had become rough from cold and dirt.

Nun Natalia

In 1943, Feodosia was sheltered by a kind-hearted woman from the village of Larinka. Here she was seen by the former nun Natalya from the convent that ceased to exist in 1922 in the city of Vyazma. The woman had a vision that her earthly existence would be preserved if she became a faithful nurse to a helpless patient. Seeing Theodosia, Natalia realized that she was destined from above to take care of the blessed one.

They bought an unfinished house on the outskirts of the village of Temkino and began to live there. So 17 years passed. At 93, Natalia died. Feodosia was left alone again. Two women agreed to look after the old woman.

Soon the girl begins a new life, she has someone to take care of her

In 1943, in the village of Larinka, an elderly woman took in a sick girl. Once upon a time, nun Natalia was visiting this woman, when she saw Feodosia, she decided to take her to her place.

Nun Natalia was a resident of the Vyazemsky convent. After it was closed, the nuns were all put in prison.

In Natalia's cell, she had a vision that all the nuns would be tortured, and she would have to take care of the sick.

When the nun saw Theodosia, she immediately realized that this was the very patient she needed to care for.

Nun Natalia took her to a small house in the village of Temkino. Soon the sick began to arrive, whom Theodosia healed.

Feodosia helped with the housework as best she could: she washed the floor on her knees, looked after the livestock, and fed the chickens.

Tikhon

the name that was given to Theodosia when she was tonsured as a novice

When the girl turned 20 years old, the hieromonk who baptized her confessed and gave communion to the girl. After which he tonsured her as a novice with the name Tikhon, in honor of the Venerable Tikhon of Medyn.

Soon nun Natalia dies at the age of 97. Tikhona has to buy an unfinished house where she lived with two women who agreed to live with her and help with the housework.

On October 18, 1976, novice Tikhona was tonsured a monk in her cell.

On February 1, 1978, Abbot Donat tonsured nun Tikhona into the schema, giving her the name Macarius, in honor of Macarius the Great.

Healing Gift

At the end of 1944, the girl had a vision in which the Mother of God blessed her for healing. Theodosia, “given by God” (the meaning of the name) took the path of serving people in the name of the Lord. People suffering from physical ailments began to come to Feodosia from nearby settlements. She treated with prayer, blessed water and oil. The blessed one helped to recover from bodily illnesses and find peace of mind. Possessing the gift of insight, she advised what to do in this or that case.

The blessed one helped to recover not only from physical illnesses, but also to find peace of mind. Possessing the gift of insight, she advised what to do in a given case. She called the main condition for recovery for patients who came to her to believe in God, read the prayer “Our Father”, “Theotokos”, drink holy water, oil and fasting.

Further life, miracles and prophecies

The fame of the Temkin healer spread far beyond the Smolensk region. Dozens of people came to Schema-nun Macaria every day. No one was refused until late evening, when the tired old woman ate and prayed.

The mother of the first cosmonaut came to the oxbow. Yu. A. Gagarin visited with doctors in 1968, wanting to alleviate her painful condition. Schema-nun Makaria recalled that she asked him not to fly anymore. After Gagarin’s death, she asked for a funeral service in absentia at her home.

The blessed one prayed daily to the Iverskaya Mother of God, explaining that Iverskaya was the protector of Moscow, the main Orthodox city. In her prayers, she asked for God's mercy for the capital, Russia, and all people. Information about healings and prophecies during the life of Schema-nun Macaria has been preserved:

  1. An ulcer on a young man's leg was healed.
  2. The ability to walk independently has been restored to an elderly woman.
  3. The advice not to go on vacation to the Caucasus saved the life of a spiritual son who turned to her for a blessing.

Mother advised her spiritual children to pray and fast daily. She said that it is enough to know one prayer, but say it every day, and the Lord will hear and help. Blessed Macaria carried out the consecration of water and oil at home. Every evening, two tanks of water and a jar of oil were placed near the old woman’s bed. With one of the prayers she knew, she asked the Lord to bestow God’s grace on them.

Miraculous healings and help to all who come from Schema nun Macaria

The nun's spiritual son recalls:

“...Some went to her by car, others traveled by trains and buses.

Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians, Tatars, Jews and Gypsies, Orthodox Christians and those who did not profess any religion came.

All of them traveled with only one goal - to receive healing from a physical or spiritual illness...

The village of Tyomkino... At the end of the village you can see a small house, like a toy, buried in flowers...

When the door knocks, the door opens and the newcomer is escorted into the house.

In the front corner there is a table with icons and lamps glowing in front of them.

In the corner closest to the door, also hung with icons, there is an old bed...

Sitting on the bed, leaning slightly on the pillow, is a small, hunched old woman, wearing a worn black cassock and apostolic monk, covering not only her head, but also her shoulders.

The thin, quiet Mother silently prays, fingering her rosary, and the arrival of another visitor does not immediately disrupt her childishly pure prayer.

The round, pale face with large sky-blue eyes and scarlet lips is very expressive and noble.

Both in her face and in her entire figure there is an expression of inner peace...

Mother will ask: “Who came, on what business?”

The young man says that for three years doctors have not been able to cure an ulcer on his leg.

“Don’t look at how my leg has been hurting for three years.” Mother will pray and you will get better... When the water runs out, come right away...

The guy leaves, and Mother says: “He’s young, let him run on his legs. The Lord will help."

A woman who can barely move her feet is brought into the room and placed on a chair...

- What is your name?

- Anastasia.

For a moment, Mother seems to withdraw into herself.

- Why do you pray to God badly? We need to pray to God, we need to take communion.

Drink water in the morning at seven, in the evening at nine, rub yourself with oil on Saturday and Monday.

They pour holy water into a three-liter jar, and blessed oil into a bottle...”

Spiritual son of a nun

A lot of visitors came to mother.

Blessed Elder Macaria helped everyone and refused no one.

Sometimes she didn’t even have time to eat. And the visitors kept coming and going...

Also, his mother’s spiritual son recalls many miraculous incidents. In one of which, mother saves a person from death. One day a man came to her and said that he wanted to go south with his family. And he came to receive a blessing from his mother.

Then mother told the man that if he left, then no one would see mother again. This greatly frightened the man, and he decided to listen to the instructions of Mother Macaria.

Later he said that he owed his life to his mother, because if he had not listened to her, he would have been in the grave a long time ago. Afterwards we learned that there was a severe flood in that area, from which many visitors died.

One day, Priest Nikolai witnessed an amazing incident when in the middle of the night he woke up and saw a bright light where a nun was praying:

“At first the light was dim, but then everything in the house was filled with a bright, bright golden-fiery light, blinding the eyes, it was impossible to even look at the bright, bright light.

On June 18, 1993, at half past 12 at night, schema-nun Macaria died. The last thing the schema-nun said before her death was: “fast, pray, this is salvation...”.

Posthumous miracles

Mother continues to help those suffering who turn to her with prayer at the grave. Pilgrims go to Temkino to bow at the village cemetery and ask for help from the zealous prayer book before God, Elder Macaria.

The posthumous miracles of Schema-nun Macaria, from the words of eyewitnesses, are described in the book by G. P. Durasov “Given by God” (published in 1994, 2000 in St. Petersburg and Voronezh):

  1. A. T. Zainieva testified to a miraculous healing after a memorial service at the grave of Mother Macaria on June 18 (death/memory day) 1999. After the service, she drank consecrated water and turned to the Lord with a request to heal through the prayers of Schema-nun Macaria.

Returning home, the woman felt that the pain in her arm, which tormented her due to an injury in the cervical spine, had gone away, and the painful lumps on her foot had disappeared.

  1. G.V. Blinova from Moscow told how in November 2000 she visited the grave and museum of the old woman Makaria in Temkino, where she blessed sunflower oil. Her four-year-old son had a tumor on his foreskin. The lump could not be cured by medical means, causing pain and discomfort to the child.

The woman, together with the child, prayed to Mother Macaria and bowed three times. She applied the oil to the sore spot with a candle taken from the old woman’s grave. A few days later she repeated the procedure again. There was no need to lubricate the sore spot a third time: the swelling disappeared.

A chapel was built over the source from which the old woman took water in memory of the prophet Elijah. Pilgrims who come to pray to Schema-nun Macaria collect holy water here.

Memory

After the death of Schema-nun Makaria, the People's Museum of Schema-nun Makaria was built in the village of Tyomkino[2]. Its most valuable exhibits are her photographs and portraits depicting the ascetic. The Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God was built[3]. It was also decided to build a chapel over the holy spring in honor of the Prophet Elijah, and to erect a bathhouse where numerous pilgrims could douse themselves with holy water. A metal two-flight staircase was built and the Pchelka River itself was cleared. The memory of the old woman is regularly celebrated with the visit of the local bishop and a large crowd of people[4].

Text of prayers

They pray to Elder Macaria at her grave.

Prayer requests ask for help:

  • in case of financial difficulties;
  • incurable diseases;
  • family troubles;
  • in finding faith.

At the source, believers can draw consecrated water to reinforce the words of the prayer to Mother Macaria.

First

Oh, Righteous Mother Macarius!

Since childhood, you yourself have endured poverty, hunger, cold, and homeless wanderings, which forever confined you to your bed with illness.

All your life you yourself patiently, resignedly and humbly carried the cross of your love for God and your neighbors, and therefore for many you were a torch, radiating an example of patience, humility and love.

You yourself, in your sorrowful helplessness, found relief, consolation and joy only in Divine grace, bestowed for humble, unceasing prayer to Christ God and His Most Pure Mother, the Ever-Virgin Mary.

And we know how you consoled many mourners, instructed the faint-hearted and directed them to Christ and the Orthodox Church. We also know that your prayer for the sick and needy, who came by faith, was always both healing and beneficial.

We believe that even now, for your humility, for your righteousness, you, Mother, have been awarded by the Lord a blessed stay with the saints in the heavenly abodes. We believe that even now you do not leave inconsolable all those who ask for your help and your holy prayers.

Oh, Righteous Mother Macarius!

Now offer up your bold prayer to the Lord for us, many sinners, that He may have mercy on us, according to His great mercy, and may He forgive our sins. May the Lord strengthen our will to live according to His commandments and remain faithful children in the Orthodox Church.

Help us, Mother, with your holy prayers, so that we can steadily walk along the path of salvation indicated by Christ, and do everything in life for the glory of God. Amen.

During her lifetime, mother left 9 terrible prophecies - what awaits the earth in the future

Mother's prophecies:

  1. Church unrest is coming. The Bible they print is wrong. They will throw you out of there, as far as they are concerned, they don’t want reproach.
  2. A change of faith is in preparation. When this happens, the saints will retreat and will not pray for Russia. And those who are, the Lord will take to Himself. And the bishops who allow this will not see the Lord either here or there.
  3. Soon the service will be reduced to half capacity. They will retain the service only in large monasteries, and make changes in other places.
  4. Soon the sorcerers will spoil all the prosphora, and there will be nothing left to serve with. And you can take communion once a year. The Mother of God will tell her people where and when to receive communion. You just have to listen!
  5. The time of persecution is near. They will create such confusion, and you won’t be able to save your soul. Whoever enters the church will be recorded. Because you pray to God, that’s why you’ll be persecuted.
  6. Money will not get better, it will only become twice as cheap, and then it will become even cheaper. Such a time comes, the power is taken away by the sorcerers. It will be even worse, God forbid we live to see it. Soon a bad man will go, he will go like a wheel. It would be nice if it was the end of the world, but here - the destruction of buildings and people, everything is mixed with dirt, you will walk knee-deep in blood.
  7. There will be a great famine. The sorcerers will cover the whole earth with darkness, and without the sun nothing will grow. And no one attaches any importance to this. At four o'clock the sun will appear a little, and it will become dark again. We'll be in the dark.
  8. The harvest will begin to fail when the monks begin to be exiled. And you won't die. It will be the will of the Lord, whoever is not written down to die will suffer and will not die.
  9. According to the Bible we now live, it is called “The Perfect One.” Soon everything will be nearby: the earth is nearby, and the sky is nearby, there will be a lot of everything, there will be such a Master. The Mother of God said, “A little is left, he will come down to earth with the Savior, everything will be sanctified, and it will become like paradise on earth.”
