This “execution” also overtook the eldest son of the pharaoh. It was after this event that the Egyptian pharaoh released the Jews from Egypt to the Promised Lands.
Then there was the Exodus, the passage through the parting of the Red Sea and 40 years of desert.
Thus, by killing all the Egyptian firstborns (eldest sons), God was able to overcome the stubbornness of the Egyptian pharaoh and free his Jewish people from slavery.
