St. Marfa (Aparina) Tambovskaya. Icon. 2005 (ts. Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” at the Ascension Monastery in Tambov)

(Aparina Marfa Petrovna, in schema Margarita; c. 1740, Saransk, Penza province, Kazan province - 09/1/1800, Tambov), St. (memorial on September 1, June 18 and July 28 - in the Cathedral of Tambov Saints), schema, founder of the Kirsanov convent in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God. Few information about M.’s life was collected and published in 1861 by Archpriest. I. M. Sladkopevtsev, teacher at Tambov Children's School.

M. was born into a noble family. In 1780, after the death of her father, together with her mother M. G. Aparina, brothers Ivan and Sergei and sister Pelageya, she moved to the city of Kirsanov; Sergei later lived in Tambov. According to I. Aparin, M., the eldest of the sisters, from an early age strove for an ascetic life, did not eat fast food, not even fish, prayed at night in secret from her mother and relatives, and performed the duties of servants. In her youth, M. unsuccessfully persuaded her mother to bless her for monastic vows. After the death of the mother approx. 1783 M. established a community for girls and widows at her house, entrusting economic leadership to her younger sister Pelageya Petrovna Aparina († Aug. 20, 1819). The confessors of M. and the sisters were priests. Gabriel, who served in the Michael-Arkhangelsk Church. Tambov, and the Elder of Sarov in honor of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos of the Desert by Hierom. Isaiah I (Zubkov). The ascetic often traveled to St. places, including in Tikhvin to the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, in Sarovskaya empty. Igum. Nazariy (Kondratiev), later. the abbot of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Valaam Monastery, recalled M.’s radiant face, “it seemed as if some unknown force was emanating from her.” According to legend, in Kyiv M. secretly took monastic vows into the schema with the name Margarita.

OK. 1800, before her death, M. blessed Tatyana Pakhomova, who came from the state peasants of the suburban settlement of Kirsanov, to lead the community. However, the administrative and economic affairs of the monastery continued to be managed by the sister of the ascetic P. Aparina, “strict to the point of excessiveness.” M. bequeathed to the nuns to observe the rules of the Sarov hostel, which was extremely important, since the only one in the diocese was women. The Tambov monastery in honor of the Ascension of the Lord was special.

In Aug. 1800, while living in Tambov, in the house of her brother Sergei, M. fell ill and, in the presence of Pakhomova and the sisters of the Ascension Convent, died after receiving Holy Communion. After his death, iron chains with a cross were found on M.'s body, the key to the lock was never found. M.'s funeral took place in the Ascension Monastery, burial - at the Vozdvizhenskoye cemetery in Tambov, on the left side of the altar of the wooden cemetery church. Before her death, the elder indicated the burial place, next to the grave of her confessor, Fr. Gabriel, cleric of the Michael-Arkhangelsk Church.

It was written on the monument that this was a gift from the Kirsanov sisters to the founder of the monastery, “which lies far from them, but is always close to them in spirit.” Through prayers to M., pilgrims were healed at her grave. After 1917, believers continued to visit the grave of the ascetic.

In 1988, M. was included in the Cathedral of Tambov Saints as a locally revered ascetic of the Tambov region. 22 Sep. 2005 ep. Tambov and Michurinsky Theodosius (Vasnev) served a prayer service for the saint at the site of her burial at the Vozdvizhenskoye cemetery. A photograph from a 19th century portrait has been preserved. (Levin O. Yu., Prosvetov R. Yu. Kirsanov Orthodox. Tambov, 20122. P. 118), which was located in the Kirsanov Tikhvin Monastery and, according to monastic tradition, depicted the founder of the monastery “nun Palladia”. It shows an elderly nun in a cassock and a pointed hood, holding a rosary in her hands. She has regular and strict facial features: a straight nose, arched eyebrows, deep-set expressive eyes. Despite the fact that M. is considered the founder of the Tikhvin Monastery, the portrait, more likely, shows not her, but her younger sister P.P. Aparina, who after M. ruled the Kirsanov community and, possibly, took monastic vows with the name Palladia. Nevertheless, the image may have features of a portrait resemblance to the real appearance of the saint.

In modern icons M. is dressed in traditional. The monk's vestments: she is in an ocher cassock, a dark red mantle, a blue schema and a doll. Her right hand is raised in front of her chest in prayer, and in her left is the model c. in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” at the Tambov Ascension Monastery. The first individual icons of the saint (half-length and full-length) were painted in 2005 for the celebration of the discovery of her relics and are located at the M. shrine in the south. aisle c. in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow.” To the west On the wall of the same church there is a life-size image of M. in the style of academic painting of the 19th century. (late 90s of the XX century; St. Martha, Elder Kirsanovskaya // Bulletin of Orthodoxy. Tambov, 2001. No. 9 (71). Appendix 3). M. stands on the green ground against the backdrop of the Church of Sorrows with his head bowed in thought, his right hand pressed to his chest in prayer, and a rosary in his left. M.’s image is also included in the composition of local ascetics on the icon “Cathedral of Tambov Saints”.

Sometimes it happens that people want something very badly and in order to achieve what they want, they are ready to do anything: to make a deal with their conscience, to deception and tricks, to abandon their family and neglect their feelings.

So, some try and make every effort to achieve, while others simply wait for a miracle. Some achieve their results, but others may struggle and do everything possible, but in the end they will not get anything. So in such cases, it is recommended to turn to Saint Martha in prayer for the fulfillment of your desire.

Who is Saint Martha

There are a large number of saints who can help in achieving results, but the most common among them is Saint Martha.

Orthodox scriptures say that she lived at the same time as Christ. She knew him personally. She believed in his divine power even before his Resurrection. Often in Orthodoxy she is most often found as Saint Martha.

They say that she was one of the sisters. Martha and Maria were not alike. They were called the complete opposite.

Martha was constantly busy with the housework, trying to provide the guests with the best, and often busy herself with various household chores. At the same time, her sister constantly went to Christ’s sermons, forgetting about housekeeping.

Her worldview was based on the fact that everyday chores were petty and perishable before divine providence.

One day Martha decided to express her indignation about this to her sister in front of a guest. In response to such words, the Lord said that Mary was more concerned about the salvation of her soul, and did not fuss about many things.

The next memory of her was the episode with her brother Lazarus. One day Christ was far outside Bethany. At that time, Lazarus became very ill and Jesus did not have time to arrive to heal him. The patient died. The sisters had already begun to mourn him. But as soon as Christ returned, he resurrected the dead.

Often Martha is also called one of the myrrh-bearing women. She is considered the patroness of cooks, servants, waiters, and the entire household.

How to correctly read the prayer to Saint Martha

If you want to ask the Saint for something, then you don’t have to go to church or any temple. It is recommended to have at least the face of a saint. There are a large number of texts of prayers to Saint Martha.

You can read not church texts, but ask in your own words. They will definitely be heard if they do not carry malicious intent and come from a pure heart.

If you want her to help you fulfill your wish, then you need to perform a certain cycle of prayers to her.

Your wish must be clearly formulated and it will be better if it is written by you in your own hand.

So, to carry out the ritual, you need to stay in new clothes (women - a nightie, men - pajamas). While pronouncing the words, you must clearly visualize the fulfillment of your desire. And then say the following prayer words:

Prayer to Saint Martha - Read 1 time

“Oh Saint Martha, You are Miraculous! I turn to you for help! And completely in my needs, and you will be my helper

in my trials!

With gratitude I promise you that I will spread this prayer everywhere! I humbly, tearfully ask -

comfort me in my worries and hardships!

I humbly, for the sake of the great joy that filled your heart, I tearfully ask you to take care of me and my family,

so that we keep our God in our hearts

and thus they deserved the Saved Supreme Mediation, first of all, with the concern that now burdens me….

(further desire, help me find a well-paid job; help me meet my loved one and create a happy family; etc.)…

...I tearfully ask you, Helper in every need, to overcome hardships as You defeated the snake,

until I lay at Your feet!”

The Lord's Prayer - Read 1 time

“Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done as it is in heaven and on earth; Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one; For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary - Read 1 time

“O Mother of God, Virgin, rejoice! Gracious Mary, the Lord is with You! Blessed are You among Women and Blessed is the Fruit of Your Womb,

for you gave birth to the Savior of our souls!”

“Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit! And now, and forever, and forever and ever! Amen!" — Read 1 time

“Saint Martha, ask Jesus for us!” — Read 9 times

During the ritual, a candle should burn on the right side of the table. It will be good if it is church. It should burn out to the end. You need to read the words 9 Tuesdays in a row. If the wish came true earlier, then still follow through. If you missed Tuesday, start all over again.

It is advisable to take a bath or shower before the ritual. And also to be alone in a room and be alone in your thoughts. In addition, it is not recommended to print texts. It is better to rewrite them by hand. And it is also advisable to write the desire in your own hand, so that it sounds the same every time.

But the most important thing is sincere faith in the Lord and the positive result of what was planned. And then everything will definitely come true!

May the Lord protect you!
