Troparion, tone 3 : Living on earth, my soul, repent: the dust in the grave does not sing, it does not take away sins. Cry out to Christ God: Knower of the heart, I have sinned, before even condemning me, have mercy on me. How long, my soul, do you remain in sin? How long will you accept repentance and change? Take in mind the coming judgment and cry out to the Lord: Know your heart, even if you have sinned, do not even condemn me, have mercy on me. | Troparion, tone 3 : While living on earth, my soul, repent: the dust in the tomb cannot sing, and then you will not be freed from your sins. Cry out to Christ God: “Thou knower of the heart, I have sinned; before my condemnation, have mercy on me!” How long, my soul, do you remain in sin? How long are you putting off the time of repentance? Imagine in your mind the coming Judgment and cry out to the Lord: “O O Lord, I have sinned; before my condemnation, have mercy on me!” |
Glory: At the Last Judgment I am convicted without verbiage, I am condemned without witnesses, for the books of conscience are unbent, and hidden deeds are revealed. Before you test what I have done in this public disgrace, God, cleanse me and save me. | Slava: At the Last Judgment, I am convicted without accusers, I am condemned without witnesses, for the books of conscience are opened and hidden deeds are revealed. Before you experience what I have done at that national spectacle, God, cleanse me and save me. |
And now: The misunderstood and incomprehensible is, O Lord God-gracious, a terrible sacrament done for You: the incomprehensible thing, when You conceived, You gave birth, flesh covered with Your pure blood: Pray to Him, O Pure One, as Thy Son, to save all who sing Thee. | And now: It is incomprehensible and incomprehensible, O Lady blessed by God, the terrible mystery that took place in You: for having conceived the Immense One, You gave birth to Him, clothed with flesh from Your pure blood. Pray to Him, Pure One, as Your Son, to save all those who sing Your praises. |
Lord, have mercy (40 times) and prayer: | |
Lord Almighty, Word of the Eternal Father, Self-perfect God Jesus Christ, mercy for the sake of Your unconditional mercy, never separate Your servants, but always rest in them Yay, do not forsake me, Thy servant, O All-Holy King, but give me, unworthy, the joy of Thy salvation and enlighten my mind with the light of the knowledge of Your Gospel, bind my soul with the love of Your Cross, decorate my body with Your dispassion, pacify my thoughts and keep my nose from creeping, and do not destroy me with lawlessness. take care of me, O good Lord, but tempt me, O God, and enlighten my heart mine, test me and guide me in my paths, and see if the path of iniquity is in me, and turn me away from it, and guide me on the eternal path. For You are the Way, and the Truth, and the Life, and we ascribe glory to You with Your Beginning Father and the Most Holy, and Good, and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages, amen . | Lord Almighty, Word of the Eternal Father, perfect God Himself, Jesus Christ, by the mercy of Your unparalleled mercy, never leaving Your servants, but always abiding in them! Do not forsake me, Thy servant, All-Holy King, but grant me, unworthy, the joy of Thy salvation and enlighten my mind with the light of the knowledge of Thy Gospel, bind my soul with love to Thy Cross, adorn my body with Thy dispassion, grant peace to my thoughts and legs save mine from stumbling. And do not destroy me with my iniquities, good Lord, but test me, O God, and enlighten my heart, search me and know my paths, and see if there is a path of iniquity in me, and turn me away from it, and guide me to the eternal path . For You are the way, and the truth, and the life, and we send up glory to You with Your Originless Father, and the Most Holy, and the Good, and the Life-giving Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen. |

Kathisma 3
In the end, to the servant of the Lord David, even the words of the Lord said this song, on the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul, and said: | To the fulfillment of the Lord's servant David: what he said to the Lord are the words of this song on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul, and he said: |
1 I will love you, O Lord, my strength. | 1 I will love you, O Lord, my strength, |
2 The Lord is my strength, and my refuge, and my Deliverer, my God, my Helper, and I trust in Him, my Protector, and the horn of my salvation, and my Advocate. | 2 The Lord is my rock, and my refuge, and my deliverer. My God is my helper, and I will trust in Him; my protector, and the horn of my salvation, and my protector. |
3 With praise I will call on the Lord, and I will be saved from my enemies. | 3 I will praise the Lord and will be saved from my enemies. |
4 Mortal diseases have overcome me, and the sweat of iniquity has crushed me, | 4 The pangs of death have seized me, and the torrents of iniquity have troubled me, |
5 diseases of hell have come upon me, having preceded me to the snares of death. | 5 The torments of hell surrounded me, mortal snares met me. |
6 And when I was in sorrow, I called on the Lord, and cried to my God, hearing my voice from the temple of His Holy One, and my cry before Him would come into His ears. | 6 And in my distress I called on the Lord and cried to my God; He heard my voice from His holy temple, and my cry before Him would reach His ears. |
7 And the earth moved and trembled, and the foundations of the mountains were shaken and moved, as if God was angry with her. | 7 And the earth shook and trembled, and the foundations of the mountains shook and were shaken, for God was angry with them. |
8 The smoke of His wrath arose, and the fire from His presence was kindled, and coals kindled from Him. | 8 Smoke arose in His anger, and fire was kindled from His face, and coals were kindled by Him. |
9 And bow down the heavens, and the darkness below, and darkness under His feet. | 9 And He bowed down the heavens, and came down, and darkness was under His feet. |
10 And you climbed onto the Cherubim, and flew, flew on the wing of the wind. | 10 And he mounted the Cherubim and flew, and flew on the wings of the winds. |
11 And put Thy dark cover, around His habitation, the waters are dark in the clouds of the air. | 11 And he made darkness his covering: around him was his tabernacle, dark water in the clouds of air. |
12 Clouds, hail, and coals of fire came forth from the shedding before Him. | 12 Because of the brilliance, clouds, hail, and coals of fire passed before Him. |
13 And the Lord and the Most High roared out from Heaven and gave His voice. | 13 And the Lord thundered from heaven, and the Most High gave His voice; |
14 I sent down arrows and dispersed them, and multiplied the lightnings and crushed them. | 14 He sent arrows and scattered them, and multiplied the lightning and confused them. |
15 And the fountain of water was revealed, and the foundation of the world was revealed, from Thy rebuke, O Lord, from the inspiration of the spirit of Thy wrath. | 15 And springs of water appeared, and the foundations of the world were revealed at Thy threat, O Lord, at the breath of the spirit of Thy wrath. |
16 He sent down from on high, and received me; they took me from many waters. | 16 He sent from on high and took me, He took me out of many waters. |
17 He will deliver me from my mighty enemies and from those who hate me, for she has become stronger than me. | 17 He will deliver me from my powerful enemies and from those who hate me, for they are stronger than I. |
18 Foretold me in the day of my bitterness, and the Lord was my strengthener. | 18 They overtook me in the day of my trouble, and the Lord became my strength, |
19 And he will bring me out into the wide world; he will deliver me, as he willed me. | 19 And he brought me out into the open; He will deliver me, for He has desired me. |
20 And the Lord will reward me according to my righteousness, and will reward me according to the purity of my hand. | 20 And the Lord will reward me according to my righteousness, and according to the cleanliness of my hands he will reward me, |
21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not dishonored wickedly from my God. | 21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord and have not fallen away to wickedness from my God, |
22 For all His destiny is before me, and His justification does not depart from me. | 22 For all His judgments were before me, and His commandments did not depart from me. |
23 And I will be blameless with Him, and will be kept from my iniquity. | 23 And I will be blameless with Him, and will be kept from my iniquity. |
24 And the Lord will reward me according to my righteousness and according to the purity of my hand before His eyes. | 24 And the Lord will reward me according to my righteousness and the purity of my hands in His sight. |
25 You will be reverent with a saint, and with an innocent man you will be innocent, | 25 You will deal holy with the holy, and you will be blameless with the innocent man, |
26 And you will be chosen with the elect, and you will be corrupted with the obstinate. | 26 And you will be close to the chosen one, but you will hinder the obstinate! |
27 For You have saved the humble people and humbled the eyes of the proud. | 27 For You will save a humble people and humble the eyes of the arrogant. |
28 For You have enlightened my lamp, O Lord my God, You have enlightened my darkness. | 28 For You will light my lamp, O Lord my God, You will illuminate my darkness. |
29 For through You I will be delivered from temptation, and through my God I will pass over the wall. | 29 For with You I will be delivered from temptation, and with my God I will overcome the wall. |
30 My God, His way is blameless, the word of the Lord is kindled, He is the Protector of all those who trust in Him. | 30 My God! His way is blameless, the words of the Lord are tested by fire, He is the defender of all who trust in Him. |
31 For who is God, except the Lord? or who is God, except our God? | 31 For who is God except the Lord? and who is God besides our God? |
32 God gird me with strength, and make my way blameless. | 32 God girdles me with strength, and He has made my way blameless; |
33 Make my noses like trees, and set me on high. | 33 He strengthens my feet like a deer’s, and places me on high places; |
34 Thou shalt train my hands to fight, and thou hast laid the bow of the copper on my arm. | 34 He trains my hands for war, and He has made my arms a bow of brass. |
35 And You have given me the protection of salvation, and Your right hand will receive me, and Your punishment will correct me in the end, and Your punishment will teach me. | 35 And You have given me a refuge for salvation, and Your right hand has supported me; and Thy instruction straightened me to the end; and Your instruction will teach me. |
36 Thou hast enlarged my feet under me, and my feet are not faint. | 36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, and my feet have not fainted. |
37 My enemies will marry, and I will suffer, and will not return until they die. | 37 I will pursue my enemies and overtake them, and I will not return until they are destroyed. |
38 I will offend them, and they will not be able to stand, they will fall under my feet. | 38 I will afflict them, and they will not be able to stand up; they will fall under my feet. |
39 And thou hast girded me with strength for battle; thou hast slept all that rise up against me under me. | 39 And You have girded me with strength for war; You have cast all those who rise up against me under my feet. |
40 And you gave me a backbone to my enemies, and you consumed those who hated me. | 40 And he turned my enemies back to me and destroyed those who hated me. |
41 You cried, and did not save: to the Lord, and did not hear them. | 41 They cried out - and there was no savior to the Lord - and He did not hear them. |
42 And I will crumble like dust before the wind, like the clay of the paths I will stroke. | 42 And I will crush them like dust before the wind, like the mud of the streets I will level them. |
43 Deliver me from the bickering of people, place me at the head of the tongues. People we don’t even know worked with. | 43 You will deliver me from the strife of the people, you will place me at the head of the tribes; a people whom I did not know became my slave, |
44 She listened to me by ear. The sons of strangers have lied to us. | 44, according to one rumor, obeyed me. The sons of foreigners lied to me, |
45 The sons of strangers have vowed and are lame from their paths. | 45 The sons of foreigners grew decrepit and lame, and went astray from their ways. |
46 As the Lord lives, and blessed is God, and may the God of my salvation be exalted. | 46 As the Lord liveth, and blessed be God, exalted be the God of my salvation. |
47 God grant me vengeance and subdue the people under me. | 47 God, who takes vengeance on my behalf and subdues the nations to me, |
48 My deliverer from my wrathful enemies, lifted me up from those who rise up against me, delivered me from the unrighteous man. | 48 my deliverer from my wrathful enemies; You will exalt me from those who rise up against me, You will deliver me from the unrighteous man. |
49 For this reason let us confess to You among the nations, O Lord, and sing to Your name: | 49 Therefore I will glorify You among the nations, O Lord, and will sing to Your name, |
50 Magnify the salvation of the king, and show mercy to your Christ David, and to his seed forever. | 50 majestically saving the king and showing mercy to his anointed David and to his seed forever. |

People we don’t even know worked with. Listen to me in the ear of your ear. The sons of strangers have lied to us. The sons of strangers have fallen and are lame from their paths. As the Lord lives, and blessed is God, and may the God of my salvation be exalted. God grant me vengeance and subjugate people under me. My deliverer from my wrathful enemies, lift me up from those who rise up against me, deliver me from the unrighteous man. Glory:
Psalter
Finally, the servants of the Lord David, who sang the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of his enemies and from the hand of Saul, and said, 17
2 I will love you, O Lord, my strength!
3 The Lord is my rock and my refuge, my Savior, my God, the Giver of help; I trust in Him! My Defender, in Him is my salvation, my Intercessor!
4 I will praise the Lord and be saved from my enemies.
5 The torments of death have seized me; the torrents of iniquity have thrown me into confusion.
6 The torments of hell have seized me; the snares of death have overtaken me.
7 But in my affliction I called on the Lord, I cried to my God; and He heard my voice from His holy temple; my cry reached His ears.
8 And the earth shook and trembled, and the foundations of the mountains shook and were shaken, for God was angry.
9 Smoke rose up from His anger, and fire kindled from His face; the coals were kindled by Him.
10 And He bowed down the heavens and came down; and darkness is under His feet.
11 And he sat on the Cherubim, and flew, and flew on the wings of the wind.
12 And He made darkness His covering; around Him is His abode; the water is dark in the clouds of heaven.
13 Clouds, hail, and burning coals flashed before Him in the flash of lightning.
14 And the Lord thundered from heaven, the Most High uttered his voice.
15 He sent down arrows and scattered the enemies, and multiplied the lightning, throwing them into confusion.
16 And springs of water appeared, and the foundations of the world were revealed at Thy threat, O Lord, at the breath of Thy wrath.
17 He stretched out His right hand from on high and lifted me up, and brought me out of many waters.
18 He will deliver me from my powerful enemies and from my haters, for they have become stronger than me.
19 They overtook me in the day of my trouble, but the Lord is my strength.
20 And He brought me out into the open; delivered me, because He was pleased with me.
21 And the Lord will reward me according to my righteousness, according to the integrity of my hands he will reward me;
22 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not been wicked before my God.
23 For all His judgments are before me; I have not departed from His commandments.
24 And I will be blameless before Him, and will keep myself from iniquity.
25 And the Lord will reward me according to my righteousness, according to the integrity of my hands in His sight.
26 You will deal with the righteous according to Your righteousness, and with the innocent man according to his innocence;
27 And you deal with the chosen as the chosen, but with the evil one according to his wickedness.
28 For You will save the humble people, and You will humble the eyes of the proud;
29 For You kindle my lamp, O Lord my God, You give light to my darkness.
30 For through You I will be delivered from temptation, and with my God I will overcome the wall.
31 My God! His way is blameless; the words of the Lord are fiery; He is the Protector of all those who trust in Him.
32 For who is God except the Lord? And who is God besides our God?
33 God has girded me with strength and made my way blameless;
34 He strengthened my feet like the swift feet of a deer, and raised me up on high places.
35 He taught my hands to fight, he made my muscles a bow of brass.
36 And He gave me the shield of salvation, and Your right hand upheld me; and Your instruction will correct me, Your instruction will teach me.
37 Thou hast enlarged my steps in my path, and my steps have not failed.
38 I will pursue my enemies, and I will overtake them, and I will not return until they perish!
39 I will crush them, and they will not be able to stand up; they will fall under my feet!
40 And You girded me with strength for battle; You brought down before me all those who rose up against me.
41 And I put my enemies to flight, and destroyed my haters.
42 They cried, but there was no one to save; they cried to the Lord, but He did not hear them.
43 And I will scatter them like dust blown by the wind, like dirt in the path, I will trample them!
44 You delivered me from the strife of men; made me head of the nations. Tribes I did not know submitted to me:
45 When they heard about me, they submitted. But the strangers betrayed me.
46 The foreigners became weak and lame in their ways.
47 As the Lord lives, and blessed is God, exalted be God who saves me.
48 God, who rewards for me and subdues the nations for me!
49 My deliverer from my furious enemies! You will exalt me above those who rebel; you will deliver me from the unrighteous man.
50 Therefore I will glorify You among the nations, O Lord, and I will sing praises to Your name.
51 You have magnified the king whom You saved, and show mercy to Your anointed David and to his descendants forever.
Glory to the Father and the Son and
Holy Spirit, now and ever and forever
centuries, amen
To the end, Psalm of David, 18
2 The heavens proclaim the glory of God, and the world proclaims the work of His hands.
3 Day speaks word to day, and night speaks wisdom to night.
4 There are no dialects and no languages in which their voices are heard.
5 Their messages spread throughout all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. God made the sun his abode in heaven;
6 And it, like a bridegroom, comes out of its palace, rejoicing like a giant, setting off on its journey.
7 From the edge of the sky his departure, and his meeting with darkness at the edge of the sky; and no one will be deprived of its warmth.
8 The law of the Lord is without blame, it guides souls; The testimony of the Lord is true, making children wise.
9 The commandments of the Lord are righteous and make glad the heart; The commandment of the Lord is bright, it enlightens the eyes.
10 The fear of the Lord is pure and endures forever; the judgments of the Lord are true, righteous in everything,
11 More desirable than gold and precious stones, sweeter than honey in the honeycomb.
12 And Your servant keeps them. Great is the reward for those who keep them!
13 Who can fully understand his sins? Cleanse me from my secret sins,
14 Protect Your servant from those alien to nature! If they do not take possession of me, I will be blameless and cleansed from great sin.
15 And the words of my mouth will be pleasing to You, and the thoughts of my heart will always be before You, O Lord, my Giver of help and my Deliverer!
To the end, Psalm of David, 19
2 May the Lord hear you in the day of sorrow, may the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
3 May He send you help from the sanctuary, may He protect you from the heights of Zion!
4 May He remember all your sacrifices, and may your burnt offering be abundant!
5 May the Lord do for you according to your heart and fulfill all your plans!
6 We will rejoice in your salvation; the name of the Lord our God will magnify us. May the Lord fulfill all your requests.
7 Now I know that the Lord has saved His anointed; He heard him from his holy heaven. Mighty is His saving right hand.
8 Some on war chariots, others on horses, but we will call on the name of the Lord our God.
9 They stumbled and fell, but we rose and became strong.
10 Lord, save the king and hear us on the day when we call on You!
Psalm of David, 20
2 Lord, Your power will rejoice the king, and having been saved by You, he will rejoice.
3 You gave him what his heart desired, and you did not reject the requests of his lips.
4 For You greeted him with a gracious blessing, You placed a crown with precious stones on his head.
5 He asked You for life, and You gave him long life forever.
6 Great is his glory, saved by You; You will place glory and splendor on him.
7 For You will give him blessing forever; make him glad with joy before Your face.
8 For the king trusts in the Lord, and by the mercy of the Most High he will not be shaken.
9 Let Your hand overtake all Your enemies, Let Your right hand overtake those who hate You!
10 For You will cast them into flames, as into a fiery furnace, at the hour of the appearance of Your face. You, Lord, in Your anger will lead them into confusion and give them up to fire.
11 You will destroy the fruits of their labors on earth and remove their descendants from among the sons of men.
12 For they have conceived evil against You, they have had plans, but they cannot carry them out.
13 And you will turn them back and smite their faces.
14 Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength! Let us sing and praise Your power.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen
At the end, about the intercession of the morning, Psalm of David, 21
2 God, my God, hearken to me! Why did you leave me? My sins remove me from salvation.
3 My God, I cry during the day, but you do not hear; I cry in the night, but you do not heed, although my call is not sinful.
4 And you live in the sanctuary, glory of Israel!
5 Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted, and You delivered them;
6 They called to You and were saved; They trusted in You and did not suffer shame.
7 But I am a worm, and not a man, suffering reproaches from people and humiliation from the people.
8 Everyone who saw me mocked me, said with their lips, nodded their heads:
9 “He trusted in the Lord, so let him deliver him and save him, if he pleases!”
10 But You snatched me from my mother’s womb; I trusted in You while I was still a baby.
11 I have been committed to You from birth, from my mother’s womb, You are my God!
12 Do not leave me, for trouble has come and there is no one to help me.
13 Enemies surrounded me like a herd of bulls, like fat oxen they surrounded me.
14 They opened their mouth against me, like a lion roaring and seizing its prey.
15 Like water I flow, my bones are scattered; my heart became like wax melting in my chest.
16 My strength dried up like an earthen vessel, my tongue stuck to my throat, and You brought me down to the dust of death.
17 For a multitude of dogs surrounded me; a congregation of wicked men surrounded me; they pierced my hands and my feet;
18 They ground my bones and looked at me with contempt.
19 They divided my garments among themselves, and cast lots for my clothing.
20 But You, Lord, do not deprive me of Your help; hasten to my defense.
21 Deliver my soul from the sword, my only soul from the paws of dogs!
22 Save me from the mouth of the lion, from the horn of the unicorns - me, the humble one!
23 I will tell your name to my brothers, in the midst of the church I will sing praises to you.
24 You who fear the Lord, praise Him, O descendants of Jacob!
25 For He did not despise or reject the prayer of the beggar, nor did He turn His face away from me, and when I called to Him, He heard me.
26 You have put praise in my mouth; in the great church I will glorify You; I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who fear Him.
27 The poor will eat and be satisfied, and all who seek Him will praise the Lord; their hearts will live forever.
28 All the ends of the earth will be remembered by God and will turn to the Lord, and all peoples and nations will worship Him.
29 For the kingdom is subject to the Lord, and He rules over the nations.
30 All who prosper on earth will eat and worship Him; all who descend into the earth will fall down to Him; and for Him my soul lives.
31 And my descendants will serve Him; the generation that is to come will give praise to the Lord.
32 And they will proclaim His truth to a people not yet born, whom the Lord will create.
Psalm of David, 22
1 The Lord is my Shepherd; He will not deprive me of anything.
2 He made me live in abundant fields. He raised me by the still waters.
3 He turned my soul to goodness, and guided me on the paths of righteousness for the glory of His name.
4 Even if I walk in darkness that threatens death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and your staff were my support.
5 You made a table for me in the face of my persecutors; You have anointed my head with oil, and Your cup will give me drink, for great is its power.
6 And may Your mercy follow me all the days of my life, and may I dwell in the house of the Lord forever!
Psalm of David, on the first day of the week, 23
1 The earth and all that fills it, the world and all who live in it, are subject to the Lord.
2 He built it on the seas, and established it on the rivers.
3 Who will ascend the mountain of the Lord? And who will stand in His holy place?
4 He who is innocent with his hands and pure in heart, who has not taken vanity into his soul and has not sworn deceitfully to his neighbor;
5 He will receive blessing from the Lord and mercy from God his Savior.
