Church of St. Spiridon Trimifuntsky of Pokrovsk (Engels)

Priest Afanasy Gumerov, resident of the Sretensky Monastery, answers:

The Holy Scriptures give several names of God, each of which conveys a certain property of the inherently incomprehensible Creator of heaven and earth. The names God and Lord are the most common in biblical texts. The first name translators translated into Slavic and Russian was the Hebrew word Elohim. It appears about 2,500 times in the Bible. Most often it is used when talking about the one true God. It is opposed to idols – false “gods”. The plural form (the ending “im” is added to masculine plural nouns) of the name Elohim does not indicate the multitude of gods (the verb with the word Elohim is always singular), but the greatness and inexhaustibility of the Divine properties. In the Greek Bible (Septuagint) this name is rendered by the word Theos.

The word Lord in our Bible translates a name that appears more than 6,000 times. Jews from ancient times did not pronounce it because of reverent fear. By design, it is a word consisting of four letters (Tetragrammaton) - YHWH. Translators of the Holy Scriptures into Greek render it as Kyurios (Lord). Most often it is used when speaking about the Divine as an absolute, eternal, original Being: “I am who I am” (Ex. 3:14).

God and the Lord God are different

, confirmation can be found in the Bible - Acts of the Holy Apostles ch.
2 tbsp. 36: “Know therefore, all the house of Israel, surely that God has made (i.e., appointed) Lord (i.e., ruler) and Christ (i.e., savior) of this Jesus, whom you crucified.” You see, God appoints as Lord. But he appointed him Lord only after the crucifixion, and not as it is written that during his lifetime he was called Lord. If you read the apocrypha, everywhere they address him - rabbi
, i.e. teacher.

The Bible says that there is not one Lord, but many:

“And the Lord God said, Behold, Adam has become as one of Us...” [Genesis 3:22]. He did not say “like Me,” he said “like one of Us,” i.e. a lot of them. Some people call the Lord demigods, i.e. there are Gods, and there are Demigods, and the Bible has confirmation of this - Acts of the Holy Apostles ch. 2 tbsp. 34: “For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand.” Those. one Lord says to another Lord: sit on my right (because the left is already occupied).

There is the Lord Jehovah, Adonai, Hosts

, and Christian preachers say “Lord Jesus” every word, although they have no right to do this. Do you know why? In 1 Corinthians ch. 12 tbsp. 3 says, “No one can call Jesus Lord except by the Holy Spirit.” That is, he is the Holy Spirit, but you cannot call him Lord. The rest of the Lords of heaven, they can call him Lord, but people cannot, even if you are a hierarch three times.

God and Lord - what's the difference?

That's what's interesting...
God, who created our Earth, and the Lord God, whom Humanity worships... do they know each other AT ALL?

From early questions in life.

===================================================================

Klirosov Oleg. God and Lord - what's the difference?

God and the Lord God are two words that are familiar to everyone.

This is, so to speak, inherent in us at the genetic level. Church, prayers, baptism, wedding - for many years they have been an integral part of our lives.

Even during the period of state atheism, when the communists completely rejected the existence of God, these names were present in our words, thoughts, addresses, and customary expressions.

But there is one point that practically no one pays attention to. Its essence is that in everyday life, in rituals, in prayers, in texts, and other familiar expressions, there are always two forms of appeal to a higher power.

Two names that most people think are the same. God and Lord God, the second name is also shortened to Lord.

How many of you have noticed this difference? And if they did, they most likely received a standard answer. Like, this is one of the names of God.

I propose to think a little in this direction, and try to formulate for yourself the answer to the question: What is the difference between the names God and Lord God.

The only request, naturally, especially for those who are supporters of one or another religious movement, is to calmly, without unnecessary emotions, approach these reflections.

No one is going to denigrate anyone.

All this is information for careful analysis, for the formation of a correct attitude towards the world, a deeper understanding of processes.

Let's start, as always, from the beginning. It’s probably not difficult to guess where these words can be found. Naturally, in the Bible.

We open the Old Testament, it seems to explain how everything began for us here.

The first book is called Genesis , open it and look at the first chapter.

This text is familiar to almost everyone. Just in case, I'll provide a photo of the text so you don't waste time searching.

Then, in order to verify the authenticity, you can look in other places, but for now let’s get acquainted with the content on the spot:

As is easy to see, the name God is present everywhere and the first actions of creating the world are described.

Great, let's move on and open the second chapter:

And here we see a very interesting picture. In the third point on the list, God blessed the seventh day, sanctified it and rested from all His works... But then another name appears - the Lord God, and the name God is not found anywhere else .

For those who assume that this is a typo or an accident, I recommend putting this option aside as it is not the most workable. Yes, the text of the Bible has been corrected many times and, quite naturally, has many distortions.

Copied by living people. But, first of all, it is a carrier of information. Moreover, this information is multi-level, so to speak, depending on the level of the perceiver. And the attitude towards this book has always been as careful as possible, the likelihood of such a gross mistake is very low.

This means that these two names were written down this way not by chance.

God is the Creator. God created Heaven, earth, light, water, luminaries, animals, humans, plants. Then, he, so to speak, retires from business, and then the Lord God begins to act.

Why is this so? Why does a new name suddenly appear? Well, I would like to rule for myself, look at the beauty I created.

Not so simple.

One of the names of God that appears quite often is the Absolute . The meaning here is that God is a Perfect figure, so to speak, absolute, maximally harmonious and correct. Naturally, such a figure can only Create, create.

But even here there are conditions. It is possible to create something and not destroy anything only in emptiness. There is nothing else yet. As soon as material objects appear, be it firmament, be it earth, be it water, any creation in that place automatically implies destruction.

And the Absolute, by definition, cannot destroy, it can only create. As soon as he destroys something, he ceases to be the Absolute.

Accordingly, God cannot act in the material world by definition. In our world, only an actor of a lower level can perform active actions. Everything is according to the Universal Law of Structure.

This is where everything falls into place. God created the material world in emptiness, without destroying anything, completely corresponding to his maximum level, but all further actions to manage this space are performed by the Lord God, an agent of a high, but not the most maximum level.

Here's the first binary.

Zero is emptiness, beyond

Unit – creation of space,

Two - the formation of two opposites,

Three – interaction between opposites...

Well, then we remember one of the names of the leader of the opposite camp. There are many of them, but one of them is very significant in the context of this conversation - Lightbringer. Consists of two words – Light and carry. In Latin these words are translated: light - lux, carry - fero . If you combine them, you get the familiar name Lucifer.

It is precisely this figure who brings people the light, or knowledge that each of us so needs. But, unfortunately, few of us perceive just words or information, so we most often have to learn through suffering and deprivation.

Light is necessary for plants and all living beings in our world; without it, no one can grow. Well, too much light, you know what it leads to. In the sun you can get tanned and burnt if you don’t know how to stop it. This is where the need arises to form the correct interaction, both with light and with knowledge.

By the way, in the Eastern translation of the Bible, God is the Most High, and the Lord God is the Eternal God. There are generally different names here.

Rave? Of course it's nonsense. Most people will perceive it that way. This information is not so easy to accept, much less to understand correctly, and even more so to refrain from a powerful negative outburst.

To begin with, you need to form and work out a lot of things in your head in order to be able to perceive inconvenient information.

But those who find the strength to correctly process this information will receive the keys to a whole range of questions.

The first, the most common, why are there so many victims in the most holy book - the Bible.

How can God, who is Love, punish and punish so many, and not forgive and accept?

Where is Hell?

Why is there so much injustice in the world, can’t God destroy the dark forces and make everyone happy?

To whom do many prayers go?

And so on, you will find the complete list in your head, which, naturally, will be replenished as you grow.

The First Humanity (Genesis Chapter 1)

“On the sixth day God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female he created them” [Genesis 1:27]. But in the modern Bible this is God in the singular, but in the Torah it is different, Elohim created there, which in Hebrew means GODS, i.e. there are many of them, and what they are is unknown to many, because the Torah and the Bible included the teachings and traditions of various peoples.

The gods created people in the image and likeness:

1. Since we are in the body, it means that the Gods were in the body. So? Yes. 2. Who said that God is soulless? Could this be? No. 3. Can God be soulless? No. 4. Can God be shameless? No.

This means that the Swastika system was created : Body, Soul, Spirit, Conscience

, which we call Man, i.e. descendant of God. “And God said to them: Be fruitful and multiply.”

What does the name "God" mean?

“God” is the first name of the Creator on the pages of the Bible. In the context of the Pentateuch of Moses, the word "God" means divine justice.

Sometimes it is simply translated as “judges.” For example, in the book of Deuteronomy it is said that if parents have an unlucky son, they must bring him to the gates of the city where the judges sit. They will decide his fate.

The natural world is created only on the basis of justice, since it is based on the laws of nature that are embedded in these created beings.

INTERESTING: Prayers of thanksgiving.

The Second Humanity (Genesis Chapter 2)

On the seventh day, the Elohim (Gods) rest. And on the eighth day, God’s helper begins to work - the Lord God, or as Jehovah’s Witnesses call him -, i.e. the assistant begins to work: “And the Lord God (Jehovah in the Torah) formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul” [Genesis 2:7]. Those. The Lord God created only the Soul

, and placed it in Eden in the east of the Earth, i.e. on the planet Eden (or paradise) east of our Earth.

Then he divided the Soul in half, separated the masculine from the feminine, and created a bodily shell for them: “And the Lord God made clothing of skins for Adam and his wife and clothed them” [Genesis 3:21]. That is, these () have only two elements: Body and Soul

.

And note also that the genetic forms are also different

: in the swastika system, the gene pool is transmitted through the father’s line, and in the form of two elements (of two triangles), the gene pool is transmitted through the mother’s line: “And Adam called the name of his wife Eve (Heb. Chava), for she became the mother of all living” [ Genesis 3:20], i.e. the gene pool began to be transmitted through her.

Here you are, two different humanity - our Gods and Ancestors have a swastika system (4 elements: Body, Soul, Spirit, Conscience), they have a dual system (Body and Soul); In our country, the gene pool (inheritance of the Family) is passed on through the father, and in them through the mother. Those. various systems.

What is the difference between god and lord

“God” and “Lord” have been present in the life of every person since childhood . It is generally accepted that they are one and the same thing, but in different variations . Most people believe in someone (excluding atheists - people, in their words, who do not believe in anyone).

It is known that there are about a hundred different names of God . Some call the highest power God, some the Creator, some simply the Universe, or something else.

There are enough variations, but the Lord and God - if analyzed in detail, these are not identical options reflecting a single meaning of the object, but the most common.

Based on data in the Old Testament, God created all things over the course of seven days: heaven, light, earth, water, animals, plants and two people, a man and a woman at the same time. This world, after a while, stopped evolving.

And on the eighth day, another biblical character appears in this source - the Lord, and this is not a mistake.

God's Day is not one of our usual daylight hours in 24 hours, but God's Day is three revolutions of our solar system around the center of the Galaxy, which is 750 million years . Further, everything created is ruled and controlled by the Lord.

Who is God?

This is the Creator of everything that exists, he created everything for the first time and that is why it is believed that he is the only Supreme Being.

It has many different names depending on what properties it has.

He is infinitely wise and strong , incorporeal and to an unlimited extent possesses the fullness of perfections: freedom, reason, will, strength, immutability and immeasurability, omnipresence and eternity.

Properties of God assumed by man:

  • Cashlessness has no reason for its existence; it itself is the cause of everything, free from any external influences.
  • Infinity – present free of time, without past, present or future, forever, without limitations. Incomparable and incomparable.
  • Immutability is constancy, being true to oneself at any moment in time.
  • Incorporeality is not a material entity, but a spiritual one. It cannot be touched, felt in physical form, and has no body. It does not exist somewhere in a certain place, it exists everywhere and always.
  • Incomprehensibility is invisible, immense, surpasses any human plan, it is elusive.

Since all people are different, have different beliefs, there are different religions. Theism is a worldview where God is monotheistic, he is the only Creator and Creator who contacts us through prayers.

Deism - God is also the Creator of everything that exists, but he does not take part in interaction with the world, does not interfere. Pantheism is a doctrine where God is the Universe and vice versa.

In all directions of faith, God is something separate, supreme, omnipotent, but he is the Creator of all things.

Who is the Lord?

Initially, everything was created by God, but the activities of managing the created space by God are already carried out by the Lord. It is also high, but does not reach the maximum level.

So to speak, he is in charge of everything that was created by God . The Lord no longer creates the original, but creates, that is, copies or clones what was created, multiplies it.

This creator brings us, people, the knowledge we need in life.

When people do not perceive and accept knowledge and teachings in a direct form - through information sources, then they have to accept knowledge in an indirect form, through deprivation, experience, suffering. But no matter what you have to experience, you must realize that the Lord does everything for the good of Man and in the best way for him.

Any unpleasant situation is an experience, this is how
the Lord teaches us and shows his love .
Light is necessary for all living things on the planet; without it, nothing develops or grows. Excess of it can have a negative effect. It’s the same with the sun: you can tan in it, or you can get burned, you need a sense of proportion. This is where the need for the correct balance of contact with both light and knowledge arises.

How are the concepts similar?

  • Both forces are supreme.
  • Both powers are inaccessible, intangible, immaterial.
  • Omnipresent and omnipotent.
  • Do not have a time category
  • Have a spiritual side to a person’s life

Concept differences

  1. God created everything that exists in the void out of nothing, in a simple form, without destruction, he is the Creator . All this creation subsequently belongs to the Lord, he is the ruler, ruler of the world and the whole world serves him, but he no longer creates like God, but only creates.
  2. God is the Creator, he created all living things in 7 days and ended his actions there. The Lord does not create, but copies his work .
  3. God is immortal and has limitless powers and superior capabilities.
The Lord is one of the names of the Almighty, not the most omnipotent . After all, he did not create this world, but rules the already created space.
  4. Origin of these concepts : God - origin from Hebrew Elohim - a single name for deity among the Jews, preserved throughout the Holy Scriptures.
Lord – comes from the Greek “kyrios”
  5. The Lord is the highest power that God sent as His Son.

Conclusion

These similar words have indirectly the same meaning , otherwise why would there be a need to create two versions of the name of the same creature that have the same meaning? If we delve deeper into the study of the two versions of the Supreme Power, it becomes clear that they have different functions.

In everyday life, it is customary to use both concepts in the combined combination “Lord God” . From the point of view of the Old Russian language, this is incorrect, since these are completely different subjects, which are inappropriate to unite. They carry different meanings.

To summarize, we can put together the information: God is the Creator of the entire system of the world, and the Lord is its manager.

Mission of Jesus Christ

Jesus' mission was to add two more elements to a two-element humanity

. Therefore, he came (he was sent) and said: Guys, I brought you the Holy Spirit (third element). For whoever receives the Holy Spirit will become like a little child, and Conscience will awaken in him (i.e., the fourth element will appear), and they will be the same as everyone else who has four elements. But someone followed Jesus (he had many disciples), and those who did not need this said: “Please go to the cross.”

Those. They did not receive the Holy Spirit, Conscience did not appear - they remained spiritless and conscienceless. That's why they say: "Think about your Soul"

, but no one calls on you to take care of the Spirit, because for them the Spirit is divine, not to be touched with your hands. What do they say about the Soul? They attributed the words of Paul to Jesus: “Whoever loses his Soul for my sake will save it; and whoever saves it will lose it.” But the Soul cannot be destroyed in the name of someone or something! It is forbidden!

And notice, their paradise is in Eden: “And the Lord God planted paradise in Eden in the east” [Genesis 2:8]. What did Jesus say? Will everyone who accepts me go to heaven? No. Jesus said, “Whoever receives me will find the kingdom of God.” And when they asked: “What is it?”, Jesus answered: “But my Father has many mansions.” But ask any Christian priest: “Where are all the righteous Christians?” They will answer you: “They are all in paradise, in paradise.” And Jesus promised the Kingdom of God, but not like heaven

. And pay attention, we are all children of God, and Christians are all servants of God. And what happens: a person dies, a covering letter is placed in his hands, in which it is written: “This is the servant of God and he is going to heaven.” Those. not to the Abode of God, but to the Land of Eden - you were a slave here on Earth, now let’s be in slavery on the Earth of Eden in your next life, work there as a slave. That is, earthly and posthumous slavery.
