The Holy Quran contains many prayers for people who dream of healing. Believers' illnesses decrease or are completely cured.

What dua should be read when a loved one is sick?

When a person is sick and in pain, he expects help from every person. High-quality medicines, technically advanced medical equipment, qualified doctors and other achievements of modern medicine can help almost every patient.

However, we know that without the will of Allah Almighty, even the most expensive medical services will not heal the patient. Of course, doctors and medicines are the cause, and only the Almighty gives healing.

Therefore, our dua for a sick person for his speedy recovery will be very appropriate. In this article we will tell you what duas the Prophet ﷺ made for the sick and what prayers should be addressed to Allah Almighty for the sick.

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when a person complained about something or about an ulcer or wound that tormented him, the Prophet ﷺ used to make such movements with his fingers (here Sufyan bin 'Uyayna, who transmitted this hadith, touched the ground with his index finger, and then picked it up) and said to the patient:

رَبِّنَا بِسمِ اللهِ، تُرْبَةُ أرْضِنَا، بِرِيقَةِ بَعْضِنَا، يُش ْفَى بِهِ سَقِيمُنَا، بإذْنِ

«Bi-smi-llahi. Turbatu arzi-na bi-ri-kati ba'zi-na, yushfa bi-hi sakymu-na bi-izni Rabbi-na »

“In the name of Allah. The soil of our country along with the saliva of one of us, and our sick person will be healed with the permission of our Lord.” ( Bukhari , Muslim )

The Prophet ﷺ moistened his index finger with saliva and touched the ground with it, and then applied the resulting mixture of saliva and soil to the sore spot, saying these words.

It is also reported from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet ﷺ always visited the sick from among his family members, passed his right hand (over the patient’s body) and said:

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِب البَأْسَ، اشْفِ أنْتَ الشَّافِ ي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفاؤكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقمًا

«Allahumma Rabba-n-nasi, azhibi-l-ba'sa, wa-shfi wa Anta-sh-Shafi, la shifaa illa shifau-kya shifaan la yugadiru sakaman».

“O Allah, Lord of people, remove this disease and heal it! You are the Healer, there is no healing except Your healing, heal so that after that there will be no illness left.” ( Bukhari , Muslim )

It is reported from the words of Abdullah Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet ﷺ said:

مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا لَمْ يَحْضُرْهُ أجَلُهُ، فقالَ عِنْدَهُ سَبْع َ مَرَّاتٍ إِلاَّ عَافَاهُ اللهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ المَرَضِ

«If someone visits a sick person whose life has not yet expired, and while he is with him, he says seven times:

أسْأَلُ اللهَ العَظيمَ، رَبَّ العَرْشِ العَظيمِ، أَنْ يَشْفِيَكَ

«As'alu Allah-l-'Azyma, Rabba-l-'arshi-l-'azimi, an yashfiya-kya«

“I ask the Great Allah, the Lord of the great Arsh, to heal you,” Allah will definitely heal him from this illness.” ( Abu Dawud , Tirmidhi )

It is also reported from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day Jibril appeared to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him: “O Muhammad, are you complaining of illness?” - and he said: “Yes . ” Then Jibril said:

أORMENSENECH lf @ughter الله أ Post ، ، م م م م Нن شimes شimes р рؤunc ، م م شail.Ru كornَ lfفipe أicles أail.Ru ، الل duhmpaَ themselves Wedging اللolt

«Bi-smi-Llahi arky-ka min kulli shayin yuzi-ka, min sharri kulli nafsin av 'ayni hasidin! Allah yashfi-ka, bi-smi-llahi arky-ka »

“In the name of Allah, I conjure you from everything that causes you torment, from the evil of any person and from the evil eye of the envious person! May Allah heal you, in the name of Allah I conjure you.” ( Muslim )

If our loved one gets sick, we try to quickly cure him and look for different ways and means to cure him. One of the best ways to do this is undoubtedly to combine traditional medical treatment and dua. Therefore, do not forget about sincere dua to the Almighty with a request to heal our sick.
