Suhel al-Hasan is 46 years old and was born on the Mediterranean coast in the city of Jebla. He is an Alawite, has a wife and only son, whom he has not seen since the beginning of the war.

"Tiger" special operations
The first victory under the colonel's leadership was a counterattack on the strategic city of Ariha in Idlib province. The 10-day special operation of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), developed personally by Hassan, was successful: the militants were defeated and fled.
In 2013-2014, the Tigers fought in Aleppo: they took control of Khanasser, captured by militants, and unblocked the roads along which the SAA forces were supplied in Aleppo. The siege of Aleppo, as the Arabs call Aleppo, was lifted. After this, Hassan secured Aleppo airport and moved north, recapturing the Sheikh Najar city industrial zone from the terrorists.

Damascus decided to award the colonel with the extraordinary rank of brigadier general (not available in the Russian Federation, this is an intermediate military rank between colonel and major general). He refused.
Then for the first time it became known how many people the colonel had. In one of the videos from military officers, he calls Damascus, demanding ammunition for 800 fighters. Later it became known that the field commanders of 40 terrorist detachments competed with each other to see who could kill Suhel Hassan, and a million dollar reward was placed on his head. This is probably the very fatherly attitude of the commander towards his soldiers.
Another example is that the colonel took into his squad 19-year-old Syrian Ali, whose father, General Muhsen Barina , fought against the Islamic State at a surrounded airbase. While still a schoolboy, Ali swore an oath to personally free his father and three years later begged the commander of the Tigers to give him the opportunity to fight against ISIS in special forces. The result was the encirclement of the terrorists and other groups daily and unsuccessfully counterattacked, because they were running out of food and ammunition. They attack in those directions where suicide bombers have already exploded, breaking deep into the army’s defense lines and consolidating their success. The combination of these three waves makes attacks by the Caliphate forces very dangerous, said Izat Charkatli , a military analyst at the Lebanese Al-Masdar news agency.
