Temples of Bratsk

In the 80s of the last century, a small group of believers led by Fr. Anatoly Zaishlym obtained permission from the city administration to build an Orthodox church in the Central District of Bratsk.

According to the architects' plan, three churches were to grow on the territory of the temple complex in the name of St. Andrei Rublev.

The first to be built and consecrated in 1991 was the Church of All Saints, who shone in the Russian land. To this day, it remains the only functioning church in the central part of the city (except for the small church-bell tower in the name of St. Ambrose of Optina, which was consecrated in 2007, and where services are held several days a year).

Since for the construction of the most important and largest temple of the complex - the temple of St. There is no hope for Andrei Rublev in the foreseeable future, the arrival of St. Andrei Rublev became the parish of All Russian Saints.

Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ

In 2000, an initiative group of Orthodox priests and laity in Bratsk had the idea of creating a church in honor of the Nativity of Christ in the city center on the site of a pile field that had been empty for about 10 years. The city administration cooperated. In 2001, the parish of the Nativity of Christ was created and the site for the construction of the cathedral was consecrated. Construction work began in 2005 and continues to this day. On November 20, 2011, the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the church. In connection with the formation of the Fraternal Diocese, the temple received the status of a cathedral.

Orthodox gymnasium in the name of St. Innocent (Veniaminov), Metropolitan of Moscow

The gymnasium was founded by the parish of the Church of All Saints, who shone in the Russian Land, with the blessing of Archbishop Vadim of Irkutsk and Angarsk in 1996. Then it was one first class in the premises of the temple.

Today the gymnasium is a school of complete secondary education (11 years). Complete secondary education is combined with Orthodox education and the study of additional disciplines under the general name “The Law of God.” This is the Church Slavonic language, Orthodox worship, the Sacred history of the Old and New Testaments, the history of the Church, religious studies, basic theology, the foundations of Orthodox culture.

The first graduation took place in 2004, and since then graduates have always received state-issued certificates and entered any educational institution throughout the country with them.

Students are transported to their place of study and home by school bus, and at school they have two nutritious meals a day (breakfast and lunch).

According to the charter of the gymnasium, the students are the children of parishioners of one of the city’s Orthodox churches; training is free.

On the basis of the gymnasium there are sports sections (football, wrestling) and clubs (art, wood carving, folklore studio), the All-Russian children's organization ORYUR, summer children's camps.

Weekly Sunday School classes for adults are held in the gymnasium throughout the school year.
