What is faith? Orthodox faith. Faith in the future. Faith in man

In this article we will try to understand with you what faith is. We will consider the concept not only from the point of view of religion and theology, but also as a result of scientific research.

Faith is one of the foundations of a person’s self-identification and existence in society, so a more accurate understanding of this phenomenon is simply necessary for everyone. Read on and you will find out what supporters of different religions, as well as sociologists, psychologists and other researchers, think about the need for faith.

Etymology and classical meaning of the term

Before we talk about the definition of this phenomenon, let's look at the etymology of the word “faith.” Scientists see the meaning in a consonant adjective from Latin. In this ancient language, “verus” meant “truthful, true.” There are words with similar sounds and meanings in both Old Irish and Old High German.

Now let's talk about what faith is for the average person who does not go into the intricacies of psychology, philosophy or different religions.

So, it is generally accepted that faith is the recognition of a truth that cannot be verified by logical, factual, experimental or any other way. In mathematics, a similar concept is called an axiom.

Thus, it turns out that faith is a certain unproven fact, which is justified solely by subjective conviction, does not require confirmation, but sometimes it can try to find it.

This is where the concept of “trust” comes from. This state is the basis of all social relations. Including fidelity, it depends on certain rules, which, when broken, transfer the relationship to another category - betrayal.

But before the conditions are met, this concept refers to the unconditional ability of the subject to transfer certain rights, information, things or people to the object of trust.

Bertrand Russell writes that as soon as any evidence arises, there can be no question of faith. Then we are already talking about knowledge.

Dear readers!

After the release of the first version of the article “The True Essence of the Faith – The Government Program ,” I began to receive questions regarding the clarification of some points. This article is supplemented with appropriate explanations and completed with the Opinion of an Amateur from Science . I wish you pleasant reading!

“Every human head is like a stomach: one digests the food that enters it, and the other becomes clogged with it.”

Kozma Prutkov

“The mind loses strength and begins to resemble a bird in a snare, which the more it tries to escape, the more it gets stuck.”

Thomas Hobbes.

In continuation of the article “On Belief, Faith and Trust,” the hour has come to talk about what FAITH is, and why this word gives rise to different associations in people, dividing them into two camps. In one camp they believe that Faith is a kind of religious state of reverence for the unknown, and in the other - internal conviction , supported by a certain set of ideas or dogmas, often referring these concepts to Knowledge based on scientific postulates, that is, assumptions.

If Faith is a religious state, then why cannot this state unite people of different faiths, but, on the contrary, gives rise to conflicts on religious grounds? Doesn't this mean that such a Faith is just another modification of internal conviction, based on existing dogmas? Then – camp one! A controlled camp of people of a certain internal comfortable-illusory state of their essence, or Essence, the loss of which entails the loss of the meaning of life.

If we take, for example, any Person, he will say that he BELIEVES in something - in God, in Cosmic wisdom, in goodness, in salvation, in happiness, in fate, in the success of something or in something. His inner world must certainly include intuition, some developed sense of faith, an ideal - a support for his actions. A person can become disillusioned with his faith and move away from it, but immediately find faith in another area. For some reason inexplicable to him and beyond his control, he cannot live without faith .

And he will defend his position, defend it from the FAITH of any other Person, if it differs at least in some way from the set of his ritual dances around his belief. The God of a given religion is, in this case, someone or something that has a set of unsupported axioms, rules or laws, turned into dogma and, thereby, sacred to Man. And such an ideological dispute never stops, since there is no single true understanding of the Nature of the Universe on the basis of consistent Knowledge, which during the period of intervention was hidden and revealed partially and in different directions of knowledge. (Explanation: More than 18,000 years ago, planet Earth was interned by a certain “Ebrow System”. The introduced cubic energy grid, which framed all previous states and structures of energies, changed and limited the state of the material world on Earth to a level acceptable only for alien control systems, changed everything environmental conditions, including the atmosphere, water, the entire biosphere, etc. - see more details).

A person acquired a sense of Faith, being formed by information of narrowly focused content, while remaining
blind to information of a different kind .
This is how the principle of separation was introduced for ease of control over individual groups of people. That is, FAITH - Program Management of a category of a certain genotype and many subgenotypes, the internal unconscious state of a Man in accordance with the task assigned to him by the Earth Control System for the implementation of a certain target program. After a series of program processes on the part of the interventionists, Man was turned into a kind of biological being, who did not have the same independence in the brain. “Over the past time, especially the last 4000 years, the Supersystem - the intervener, through the changed System of surrounding structures, carried out a colossal number of program processes. Including with all Life Support Systems, Biocenters of planet Earth that create and support man and directly with Man himself. The purpose of all program processes carried out on Man and with his participation was the following.

When executing the old programs, it was envisaged to apply the unique perfection and capabilities of the human body (the so-called shirt) in relation to changed environmental conditions, i.e. carry out the process of learning all the secrets of a living cell. Adapt the Life Support Systems and Biocenters of planet Earth to the capabilities of their Control Systems (interventionists), form the missing or matching systems in addition”[1].

For example, “the state of the part of faith associated with the religious sphere probably could not have been maintained for thousands of years in such a stable embodiment, even with varying success, especially in our time, unlimited in density and subject matter of information open access. In contrast, there is a convincing historically brief example - faith in a bright communist future, which, despite the temporary overwhelming fanaticism, flashed by in an instant, like an early spring flower, and disappeared in barren sterility. This does not mean that any kind of temporary thematic faith can exist, because anyone who tries to assert this and is confident in chance is deeply mistaken. This means that this was some kind of process of unified control outside the will and desire of people, taking place within the strict framework of a program scenario with clearly verified target guidelines and predetermined target circumstances for some kind of practical refraction, as inevitability and consequence.

Then, what are faith and knowledge if they are a former controlled process and what will they be like in the future? Now it is more than obvious that everything was much more complex and inaccessible to people than both opponents and supporters of various religious denominations with the religious dogmas exuding from them, as well as manifested teachings from the sphere of science, are trying to explain publicly or secretly. Such discrepancies, mutual misunderstanding, and sometimes not understanding each other, are caused by only one reason - people were completely isolated from the truth and essence of the controlled process itself . Everything that connected them with faith and knowledge was hidden from them, and the process itself was uniformly controlled, but not mutually complementary in each of its parts. This process was associated with the material use of people, but not for or for their sake. Determine the true concepts, explore the flow of the process of energy-informational dialectics of states according to the stages of development of brain genotypes relating to faith and knowledge as such, understand their current current states, and also limit the scope of upcoming changes dictated by the new framework of the Vector of Goals of future phenomena, actions and events, — this is the goal of our research”[2].

The more facts accumulating that confirmed people’s ideas, the stronger the belief in this or that statement became in the absence of Knowledge, and the more decisive the actions of believers appeared, reaching the point of fanaticism. These unreasonable actions led people to the brink of the destruction of the civilizational way of life and to the introduction of destructive technologies that destroy life itself on Earth. And no dogmatic Faith and previous academic Knowledge can prevent further disintegration of consciousness after the cessation of the corrective Programs of the Old Management System.

Any attentive Person has the opportunity to observe with his own eyes the process of destruction of people's FAITH in anything. But, nevertheless, he (the Man) with all his might defends his conviction, imposed from the outside, and his usual state of belief by virtue of his ideals. However, such a convinced idealist or materialist is unable to provide sufficiently reasoned evidence that keeps him in such a state. He will hold on to his beliefs until he is offered more weighty arguments for his delusions and is shown evidence to the contrary.

Then he will be able, holding on to new beliefs, to move on to another “faith.” That is, to cling to a new state that helps him feel protected. But will he at the same time gain true Knowledge about the nature-forming energies, thanks to which he exists, or will he again cling to the assurances he liked about the inevitability of a bright future? Will he fanatically build new dogmas for himself, rejecting the difficult process of cognition? A believer, as a rule, turns away with horror if knowledge is discovered, especially in cases of complete discrepancy between knowledge and faith . The Church chose faith, and therefore diverged from real science.

The most powerful God and Idol is money. Therefore, we so often observe people who drink, eat, have fun, and buy all new expensive “toys” in order to constantly affirm for themselves the power of their “god.” But this “god”, this religion of the “Golden Calf” begins to collapse - the collapse of the world financial system and the loss of such a god for the “believer” ends in self-liquidation (suicide).

TODAY there is complete confusion and vacillation throughout the entire world community, leading to aggressiveness and rebellion of consciousness. Nothing restrains instincts anymore, drawing them into vices and conflicts in all spheres and levels of social relations. The socionic picture of society at all levels of relationships between people began to acquire complete recklessness and ultimate destruction. This is an inevitable loss of stability when the Essence (read Brain) of a Person is destroyed. This fact suggests that the previous state of the Program Control of the Ebrovsky CPS is already disabled. The Old Programs are disabled, and the New Brain does not yet perceive fossils due to its dogmatic state.

This is not a simple situation that gives rise to confrontation at all levels of social communication. Programmatically, Man can no longer act, and on his own he is not yet ready to perceive the true structure of the world-forming energies. The reasons for this misunderstanding and opposition of people were noted by F.D. Shkrudnev in the “Concept of Understanding SvetL Technologies and Programs”, let me remind you of one of them:

“Most people eventually stop perceiving NEW things . Having built their inner world on the basis of an already existing ideology, myths and not entirely adequate ideas , they do not WANT , and cannot, make CHANGES , since this not only requires SERIOUS EFFORT , but can also lead to the destruction of the individual. As a prerequisite for the correction of this virtual world (false consciousness), a shock (“shock therapy”), tragedy, affect, catastrophe, war, terrorist attack or MIRACLE .”[3]

The Entity undergoes a serious test of the destruction of old structures of its dogmatic beliefs and with all its strength resists everything new, since this has a painful effect on the state of the physics of the cell and the Brain. The psyche suffers and the body begins to hurt. A person goes through emotional groaning. It's not easy to withstand...

The process of transition to the acceptance of New Life Support Programs is associated with a change in the intensity of broadcasts. Some information on broadcasts and the “translator” was given in the article for Newsletter Day by Nikolai Viktorovich Levashov “It’s not so simple...”. Questions were received, disagreement was expressed, clarification was required...

To what has already been said, the following can be added.

There is a general energy-informational transmission, which ensures, among other things, the very existence of the body’s flesh. A huge number of broadcasts of the necessary frequencies to maintain the structure of the cell and the entire organism as a whole supports a complex multicellular organism! Just for our body to exist and everything to work normally, more than 17 billion (separate by design) translations must provide this system. The Ebrovskaya (interventionist - see Explanation) system provided a certain part - 4.5 billion. Currently, not all broadcasts are turned on. If we give all the broadcasts now, the world will fall down.

It will lie down because the correct retention of the shape of the internal secretion organs will be lost. The liver will want to become a ball and squeeze part of the intestine. The bladder will say: “Guys, I’m uncomfortable!” The stomach will say: “why am I so hung up - let me go a little lower”... And the person will no longer be able to eat. This is what will happen if you just slightly disrupt the transmission of energy information broadcast... A little bit! And WHO will not be able to cope with this, since all this is provided by external broadcasting. Only slightly influence the process of transmitting information in some way, and immediately - osteochondrosis or inflammatory processes. Here are the causes of popular diseases!

As people age, they begin to blame their joints. Yes, the poor joint itself is a colossal “party” responsibility. It should not distort information - that’s why it begins to change shape and adapt. This cannot be treated promptly, since information cannot be distorted. This means that the joint will begin to deform again and become painful. And how to deal with this? ...

All of the above shows how important the correct transmission of information flows is to maintain life and health. The state of FAITH ensured this . Now FAITH is destroyed along with the Programs of the Old System, and Man is destroyed, as the old structure of his life support, the preservation of his dogmas and beliefs, is destroyed. It doesn’t matter what their origin is – religious or atheistic. All of them were formed by false broadcasts of information flows of the old Ebrov System to create thinking that was wooden to the waist - its complete absence as an independent element. This is why materialistic idealism is needed now - to tear it out of this state of stereotyped thinking.

Today, all the developments of the Ebrian state of consciousness are being erased, everything that was created contrary to the natural nature of people, through giving them correspondence to the energies that form the reconstructed structure of the Earth model.

Does Humanity have a future? Is it possible to return a Man to the state of FAITH not on the basis of a false scientific foundation, but on the basis of true Knowledge, thereby giving a chance for integration into the future of Humanity?

This is possible only through the growth of personal awareness, the development of the ability to receive dense energy-informational transmission - THE DESIRE FOR COGNITION . Now there is NEW SYSTEM for CONTROL of all CHANGES and the formation of “Conditions of living on our planet”, “Conditions of a managed environment”. In many works of the Research Institute of Central Communications , it is emphasized that the process of control, first of all, goes through the control of changes in public consciousness. It (Consciousness) is now very vulnerable to the tools of the Information War and the involvement of people in this War - by pitting against the background of many contradictory beliefs based on faith without Knowledge, people are brought into confrontation through the Subsystem (Manual) level of performing actions.

There are three levels of Management:

Supersystemic - from the outside, relative to the controlled existence of the Earth itself;

Systemic - an autonomous System for Controlling the existence of the energies of the Earth and at the same time the supra-system position of Its level for managing life on the planet;

Subsystemic - for Man and the reality surrounding him in relation to the Earth Control System with Its programmatic management of all processes of the future Civilizational development of the Reasonable orientation of Humanity. SUBJECT . the so-called Handed One, naturally completely dependent on the two superiors and conditioned by them.[4]

of FAITH and act not in accordance with reason - automotorically - easily fall into such traps This is dangerous because it leaves people without protection from any external influence.

To HELP maintain internal stability in these difficult times, restore protection and preserve the health of the Brain and the Life of the Cell, Programs are needed that create conditions for human life support. Such Programs are the “LIGHT” PROGRAMS. Material about their role and purpose has been collected for people who are beginning to be interested in their future, for those who strive for Knowledge and have decided on the purpose of their Life - to become a Human. This is the Collection of “Knowledge from Na _Chala”, which contains all the necessary information about what people need to KNOW and UNDERSTAND . All TECHNOLOGIES and PROGRAMS under the “SvetL” are developed and coordinated with the System, both in their true essence for the executive actions of all people using them, and according to the Tact of event time.

The “SvetL” programs contribute to the RETENTION of a stable state of Essence and Mind (FAITH in the true sense of the word) , which is a necessary condition for the healing of the Flesh and the development of the Brain on the basis of a holistic ideological foundation that Nikolai Viktorovich LEVASHOV to ALL OF US in the form of invaluable books and articles. Understanding the structure of matter on the planet, it is impossible not to take advantage of the knowledge of the microcosm and the human body at the level of the Living Cell and Brain, turning to the works of A.M. Khatybova . Understanding the past of Human civilization, it is impossible to ignore the works of N.A. Morozov . All together forms a stable system of New Knowledge, which firmly rests on the foundation of N.V. Levashov, which is the ABC and Grammar for studying the “language” of this Knowledge.

Let this solid foundation become the basis for every Person to build HIS OWN beautiful TEMPLE OF KNOWLEDGE!

And let PERFECT MIND become the only Idol in this TEMPLE This is who the true Idol is. To him, and only to him, and at full speed![5]

It is no coincidence that Nikola Levashov constantly repeated:

FAITH ( VE -RA – Eat RA) is ENLIGHTENMENT WITH KNOWLEDGE – Saturation by Matter (streams of “light”) of the true nature-forming energies of existence .

Previously they said - God help you! But trust in God, and don’t make a mistake yourself!

Now we can say it differently:

"SvetL" - to help! ….

OPINION OF AN AMATEUR FROM SCIENCE….

NOW IS THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND that when studying the processes occurring on Earth, it is necessary not only to know all the patterns of the world around us, but also to be able to analyze past events, establishing connections between them...

You can believe everything that science has presented to us today, but knowledge cannot be built on this , and the convincing evidence that science provides, unfortunately, was built in the absence of another system of knowledge.

The entire state of modern science and modern knowledge can be expressed as the view of Pithecanthropus on a mammoth - “you can’t drag it into a cave and it doesn’t know how to plow.”

The periodic table, as a masterpiece of scientific thought, is a monstrous misinformation on the structure of the elements.

The wind happens because the trees sway.

Direct evidence of the absence of science is the presence of the church.

We can talk a lot more about this, but then what remains - not to believe in anything? Or should we still try to figure it out by removing all the garbage piled up by modern science? For this, for those who are interested, I RECOMMEND:

Firstly , use the Pauli principle - one horse cannot drag two carts in parallel with the same shaft. Everyone can be convinced of this. This means that those who want to know something must forget everything they have been taught. This is extremely difficult, but necessary!

Secondly , if you need to calculate anything, use “kaleidoscope” mathematics (see the works of A. Khatybov ), and not the mathematics that calculates self-oscillations in an atom taking into account the deformation of a cart wheel (physics encyclopedia, volume 1).

Thirdly , no matter what the conclusions are, they can and should always be comprehended .

Fourthly , faith in the desire to gain knowledge is always rewarded by the level of knowledge that is available to a particular Person .

Fifthly , no beliefs can prevent you from checking the result , which means that there cannot be knowledge in only one area . You can specialize in one or more areas of knowledge, but you need to know more. This is said for those who “recognize” the information from the works of N. Levashov and stubbornly deny “any other” information.

Those who want to know have a starting point - as soon as the monkey grabbed the stick , it began to think (perhaps the theory of relativity appeared at that time). Thus, the fall of an apple on Newton's head led to the discovery of laws. If Newton had been sitting near a house under construction, then a brick falling on his head would have led to much more serious discoveries .

Result - Science as knowledge about the world around us does not exist . That is , humanity today does not have not only history, but also science . Is it good or bad? On the one hand, it’s good, since the absence of science allows obscurantism (the church) and academies of sciences with all scientific institutes to exist perfectly. And it’s bad because it’s not trees that shape the wind, as the media informs us about this every day. Where we live, how long humanity will live, what changes are coming at least in the near future - science is not able to answer a single question. As an example, no one has yet been able to synthesize a living cell, but everyone is ready to start cloning. There is no justification (except for the divine) for the appearance of Man .

And lastly, for understanding, does everything that has already been written and said regarding the “SvetL” Programs, their interaction with the owners and the Life Support System through these Programs, mean that after starting their application, all USERS will receive the Brain, knowledge, faith and the opportunity to become a “partner of the Supreme Reason"? Here everything will depend on the Man himself and his desires for knowledge. But there is no doubt that today’s “wise men” will continue to know only horse constants and the method of converting dollars into euros, while the rest will strive to develop the church and bring to perfection, for example, methods of growing cucumbers in the Arctic Circle. But this is only today and only for now...

Object and subject of faith

After we have briefly defined the basic concept of what faith is, it is worth starting to deepen it. Now we will try to separate the object and the subject.

The first one is usually not felt at all. A person is not able to recognize the presence of an object of faith with any of the five senses. Otherwise, this would already be empirical proof of physical existence.

Thus, the object for society is exclusively in a state of possibility. Although for an individual or a group of people it seems to exist in reality. Due to various processes in the body, it can be felt psychologically, emotionally, figuratively.

The subject is all of humanity in general and each individual in particular. If you look from this perspective, then faith means the attitude of a person or society towards an object.

For example, ancient people believed that thunder was the roar of the chariots of the gods, who were angry with them and sent lightning down. This was the attitude of primitive society to such a natural phenomenon, which caused panic and horror. Today, due to scientific discoveries, even a schoolchild knows that these are just processes in the atmosphere of the planet. They are in no way animated, but simply mechanical.

Accordingly, faith also changed. We do not make sacrifices to the “formidable thunderers” in order to save our lives, unlike ancient people who sincerely believed in the advisability of such behavior.

Faith

Faith is the understanding of the meaning of life and the recognition of the responsibilities arising from this understanding. L.N. Tolstoy

Faith is a phenomenon characteristic of every individual. All people without exception believe in something, since without faith no belief is possible. It is the basis of spirituality for the soul of each individual and the spirit of human communities. A person cannot live without faith that brings meaning to his life. It is a factor that determines a person’s attitude to the world; on the basis of faith, a subjective representation of objective reality is formed. It influences the entire internal organization of a person - his thoughts, feelings, attitudes, values. Faith also manifests itself as a guiding principle in human behavior, actions, and deeds.

Belief in the supernatural occurs only at a certain level of brain development. Beliefs in supernatural forces are observed among all peoples and tribes of the Earth, without exception, but are completely absent among animals. Science believes that Faith arose out of the need to rationally explain observed natural phenomena. Primitive man defined all phenomena as the result of certain intelligent actions, explaining the manifestations of natural forces by the will of the spirit, an intelligent principle much more powerful than man. From the point of view of religion, faith is given to man by God. 1 Etymology 2 Definitions 3 Meaning 4 Types of faith 4.1 Monotheism 4.2 Polytheism 4.3 Pantheism 4.4 Atheism 5 Faith and religion 5.1 Monotheistic religions 5.2 Polytheistic religions 5.3 Pantheistic religions 5.4 Atheistic religions 6 Belief in God and faith in God

Etymology

The Russian word “faith” comes from Praslav. věra from which, among other things, came: Old Russian, Old Slav. faith, Ukrainian Vira, Bulgarian vära, Serbohorv. Bjȅpa, Slovenian vera, Czech vira, Polish wiara. goes back to the Proto-Indo-European. *wēr— (truthful, faithful, true)

Definitions

There are many definitions of the concept of faith. The most common is listed on Wikipedia:

“Faith is the recognition of something as true, regardless of factual or logical justification, mainly due to the very nature of the subject’s relationship to the object of faith; conviction, deep confidence in someone or something.”

Many dictionaries contain different definitions of the word faith. As a result, faith has 4 main meanings:

  1. a deep conviction in the existence, truth, or inevitability of something that does not require evidence or justification.
  2. trust in someone or something.
  3. conviction in the existence of God.
  4. belonging to any religion, absolute recognition of the tenets of religion, religious traditions and rituals, a religious worldview of a certain kind; religion, confession.

The word faith has many meanings. Depending on the context, it can be used in any of the listed meanings. However, none of these definitions fully captures the essence of the concept of faith.

Meaning

You can find many lengthy and complex discussions about what faith is. Almost nowhere there is a clear and precise answer to this question.

In essence, faith is a person’s idea of the superhuman forces that created and govern the world. Any faith without exception provides an answer to the two most important questions that form the worldview and define ideas about the world, and the place and role of man in the world: 1. How did this whole world appear and by whom was it created? 2. How and why did man appear on Earth? According to many religious teachings, knowing the answers to these questions, a person, having fulfilled the destiny intended by the creator, can gain access to eternal life and (or) eternal bliss.

Types of Faith

Depending on the answers given to these questions, four types of faith can be distinguished:

Monotheism is the belief in a single personal transcendental (unknowable and unattainable) God - the creator of this world and man. Eternal, omnipresent and omnipotent. The source of all revelations. Consequently, the task of man is to fulfill the destiny ordained by the Creator. Acting in line with God's Providence, gain God's favor and, if not exhausted, at least avoid God's permission. And as a reward for a righteous life, you will receive spiritual bliss, if not in this life, then after death.

Polytheism is the belief that the entire world and man are created and governed by a pantheon consisting of many gods, usually headed by a supreme god. In the hierarchy of the pantheon, each god has his own place and his own specific sphere of control in nature and society, different from the spheres of activity of other gods. The gods enter into a complex system of relationships with each other. Each of them has its own appearance, preferences, and character. In polytheism, if a person establishes contacts with the gods by performing certain actions, performing rituals, offerings, he will receive the protection of one or more gods, which will give him power over the surrounding reality. That is, as in atheism, a person has the potential to independently determine the meaning of life and which gods to serve to achieve goals.

Pantheism is the belief in the unity of God and the world, uniting or identifying God and the world. The belief that all existing things in the universe participate in the divine essence and constitute an all-inclusive, immanent (“in-world”) God. Pantheistic faith does not recognize a separate personal anthropomorphic or other Creator God and denies the essential difference between God and the world. In pantheism, God is an impersonal beginning (essence), the basis of the universe, permeating everything around us, creating and changing the world in which everything that exists is involved. Pantheism, in essence, deifies the universe, both as a whole and every small part of it: stars, animals, trees, inanimate objects. Benedict Spinoza: “Besides God, no substance exists or can be represented.” That is, the entire world around us is a way of Divine manifestation (material embodiment) of God. Thus, God in pantheism means the entire surrounding world, the entire universe, life, living and inanimate nature, and in some cases even artificially created (anthropogenic) environmental objects. Living beings, according to pantheistic ideas, only for a short time realize themselves in any specific form of life, after which they again dissolve in endless inexplicable purity. And this time given to a person must be used in accordance with Divine providence. From the point of view of pantheism, a person’s desire to know himself, the world, the laws of nature, social life and using them for the benefit of himself and all humanity is nothing more than a way of unifying a person with God. If a person learns to know and change for the better himself, others and the entire world around him, he can become involved in the One Divine Principle.

Atheism (not to be confused with antitheism!) - no matter how paradoxical it may sound, it is also a type of faith. Atheism is based on the belief that the emergence of the universe, the origin of life and the appearance of man on earth is the result of natural processes and that science provides answers to the questions of why and how this happened. The most popular scientific theories that explain the most important questions of faith are: the Big Bang theory, the theory of the spontaneous generation of life and the synthetic theory of evolution (modern evolutionary theory, which is a synthesis of various disciplines, primarily genetics and Darwinism). In addition to generally accepted theories, there are alternative hypotheses: a stationary Universe, Panspermia, etc. From the point of view of atheism, Homo sapiens arose as a result of biological evolution and natural selection. Consequently, man is the culmination of the efforts of living nature: “the crown of creation” or “the king of nature.” Statement by the great scientist-breeder Ivan Vladimirovich Michurin: “We cannot expect favors from nature. Taking them from her is our task” quite accurately reflect the point of view of atheism. Atheism considers human nature, not gods, as the source of moral values. In atheism, a person himself determines the meaning of life, goals and methods of achievement, and he himself achieves what he needs. Atheism treats the question of the existence of gods and other supernatural beings, phenomena and forces as a scientific hypothesis. According to the definition of science, it can neither prove nor disprove supernatural phenomena and gods. due to the lack of empirical evidence of their existence. In accordance with the position of scientific skepticism, the existence of gods of certain religions is also questioned.

Faith and religion

There is often an erroneous identification of Faith and religion. Faith is an understanding of how the world was created and how it works. Religion is a doctrine of faith that includes the concept of the creation of the world and man, a set of moral norms and types of behavior, rituals and religious actions. The distribution, development and propaganda of which are carried out by religious organizations. Based on the four types of faith, four main types of religions arose:

Monotheistic religions preach belief in one god. The most famous monotheistic religions in the world are the Abrahamic religions: Christianity, Islam, Judaism. Also, monotheistic religions include Zoroastrianism, Tengrism, Sikhism and other religions.

Polytheistic religions preach faith in many gods, spread knowledge of the laws of interaction with gods and the ability to apply them in practice. Classic examples of polytheism are the Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek, Ancient Roman, Ancient Slavic religions, as well as the Mayan religions of the Aztecs, Incas, Celts and many others. In the modern world, polytheism is represented by the following religions: Shintoism, Jainism, Some areas of Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism, Neopaganism and many other religions.

Pantheistic religions - much less is known about them than about the previous two. The belief in the unity of God and the world is spread in Taoism, some areas of Hinduism and Buddhism, New Age and other religions.

atheistic religion . Science can rightfully be called the religion of atheism, and scientific and educational institutions are its temples. Also, the religion of atheism in a certain sense can be called scientific atheism and in a certain sense antitheism.

If there are only four main types of faith, then there are a large number of types of faith. Every religion has its own idea of the forces that created the Universe and control the world

Faith in God and faith in God

Having touched upon faith, one cannot ignore the difference between faith in God and faith in God. Despite the similarity, these concepts are fundamentally different. Almost all scriptures say that killing, stealing, deceiving, and committing adultery are bad. A person who believes in the Creator will never violate the norms of ethics and morality, and even if this suddenly happens due to ignorance or misunderstanding of the current situation, he will make every effort to correct the consequences of what he has done. Unlike someone who believes in God, a person who believes in God recognizes His existence and, by announcement, agrees with His primacy in the world, but in his soul (by default) he does not believe in God. Therefore, discussions about what is good and what is bad are considered philosophical discussions on the topic of ethics and morality, abstracted from reality. and he does not consider it obligatory to fulfill the commandments, first of all, for himself. For this reason, we often see how those who believe in God, but those who do not believe Him, violate the commandments. This happens because people who believe in God, but who do not believe Him in the depths of their souls, consider themselves, and not the Creator, to be the most important thing on earth. Therefore, in the works of the VP of the USSR they are called idealistic atheists.

Faith is the foundation on which the culturally transmitted and genetically determined part of the soul and the idealistic basis of the spirit are based. There are no non-believers. Each individual has a faith-based idea of where he came from and how this world works and who is in charge here. The conscious choice of faith is of utmost importance in the life of every person. Therefore, faith determines the meaning of life, a system of views, assessments and imaginative ideas about the world, and the place of one’s “I” in the world, which determines the set of moral norms and the type of worldview and, ultimately, the meaning of life of each individual. Understanding who you really are or a creature created by the Creator called to fulfill the will of the Creator and, as a reward for this, live a happy life and possibly receive eternal bliss after death. Either a thinker who is free in his actions, independently determines the meaning of life, goals and ways to achieve them, who, of his own free will, establishes ethical and moral standards for himself and others, forges his own happiness with his own hands. Freedom to choose faith should be a right for everyone. Faith has a great influence on the life of every person and his environment.

Religious understanding

Spiritual belief is often replaced by synonyms such as religion, creed, and religious doctrine. You can hear both the terms “Christianity”, “Christian religion”, and “Christian faith”. Often in colloquial communication these are one and the same thing.

By the word “believer” in a religious context, we mean a supporter of a certain picture of the world who supports the views of one of the existing religions.

If we ask Christians, Muslims or other representatives of monotheistic worldviews about what faith is, we will hear that this is the most important human virtue. In the absence of this quality, many events are simply impossible both during the life and after the death of a believer.

For example, in the Abrahamic religions, all non-believers and doubters face eternal torment in hell or fiery Gehenna.

The ancient sages, whose thoughts are fragmentarily cited in various Holy Scriptures, give stunning examples on this matter from everyday life.

If we take the example of a farmer. He may be a Christian, a pagan, or even an atheist, but his activities are based on faith. No one will put hard work into cultivating a field, sowing grains, without believing in the future bountiful harvest.

Orthodox Life

About the perpetual motion machine of man.

Have you ever met a person in your life who doesn’t believe in anything? Me not. Because faith is a set of unshakable beliefs from the point of view of its bearer. People believe in the reality around them, in the properties of certain things, in other people, finally... A person who leads his life in a certain way, with enviable constancy and persistence, believes that this is right. Thousands of people attending rallies believe in the correctness of their choice and the leader they followed. A person believes in the law, science, a bright future, and universal human values, because faith is inherent in his nature. This is not psychology, but the structure of our being.

The phenomenon of faith breaks the limited stereotype about the rational structure of the world. Faith makes a person strive for something. Where does it come from? Physiology? Instinct? Faith can be classified as a higher order manifestation of human essence. Indeed, you can move mountains, that is, achieve what is almost impossible from the point of view of “protective” fear, which often wins in people. “How did he do it? How could he? – you can often hear perplexed, surprised, enthusiastic exclamations of people about their own kind, who, in their opinion, have achieved the unthinkable. Everything is just very logical. God designed man in such a way that he is not an animal driven by instincts, but a creative being, simply unable to live without aspirations.

Don't believe those who say they don't believe in anything. This is deceit, even, rather, a bitter delusion of a person who does not fully understand his nature. If you perceive yourself as a collection of organs, bones and skin, you really somehow cannot penetrate with your mind into the essence of many issues. But even hardened atheists, surprisingly, can be so active that you understand: they have a strong faith. Their faith is conviction in their position, and it is this faith that constantly motivates them to argue and prove that they are right.

But if a person has the property of faith in himself, and we, as Christians, believe in God, then it is logical that this quality-phenomenon is truly revealed only in the case of complete and deep acceptance of the object of faith. When a seasoned rationalist lights a candle in a church “just in case” and “because it helps,” it is obvious that he has faith in something invisible and omnipotent. And in fact, most people believe in the invisible, without delving into the essence, being mistaken, finding excuses for themselves as to why their faith, although there is a place to be, is rather superficial.

In this case, the mission of a person’s life as a being can be considered as revealing the potential of faith in oneself. Sounds sudden, right? A Christian, as they say, must “strengthen” his faith, that is, strengthen his convictions through religious education, prayer and the Sacraments as an experience of mystical communication with the invisible, observing experimentally the manifestations of God’s actions in the material world. The stronger our faith, the closer we will become to the Lord, because inner conviction, supported by real experience of communication with Him, moves us forward, to new heights, into a happy eternity.

But if a person, as he claims, does not believe in God, does not want to hear from you even the word that so satiates his ears about the need to go to church... ask him what he believes. Ask what is of real value to him. Find out with him what he really believes in and what makes him move through life. Tell him about faith as a phenomenon of the entire civilization, give examples from the lives of those who are considered successful. After all, they also move thanks to the inherent ability of a person to believe. Help your interlocutor understand what faith is in general, how it helps in life, and show what the Christian faith is, which takes a person beyond the visible world and time space. Say that our faith is in eternal happiness.

Your success may not be immediate, but this is how you have a great chance of sowing the seeds of faith in the heart of another person. After all, before preaching about Christ to an unprepared and prejudiced person, perhaps it is worth telling him what generally moves a person to consistently act irrationally.

Sociology

The basis of modern Western society is the Christian faith. It is its principles that regulate relationships between people on almost all continents.

But sociologists call for separating religion from faith. They say that the first is more designed to suppress the human essence in the individual. In terms of the fact that in fact the believer is only interested in himself, his needs and benefits. The true desires of a person are unlikely to include the desire for altruistic help to the Church or the priest.

The natural thoughts of people are based solely on selfishness, which is introduced into the framework of social norms of behavior. Therefore, faith must be perceived only from this point of view.

Thus, sociologists are not interested in the phenomenon of faith itself, but in the result to which it leads in society. Studying various religions, scientists conclude that people strive to create optimal conditions for individual happiness through participation in groups, sects, ashrams and other associations.

Psychology

Psychologists first of all say that all faith is subjective. Therefore, there can be no talk of any single phenomenon that is exactly identical for all participants. Everyone perceives and feels to the best of their abilities, attitudes, previous traumas and doubts.

From a psychological point of view, the Christian faith is based on the absence of contradictions. There are no clarifying questions, and no one is interested in the opinions of ordinary parishioners. The pastor must care for and lead his flock to salvation.

Thus, psychology treats faith as its opposite. It cannot be understood, measured or calculated. This is something comparable to the notorious “human factor”, which leads to unexpected consequences.

Theology

This discipline places faith at the basis of knowledge of the world. “I believe, therefore I exist.”

The problematics of these issues in theology are divided into broad and narrow understandings.

In the first case, the study includes the whole of science, since it explores not only the content of the concept, but also its implementation in our world. That is, here special attention is paid to faith as a life practice and a person’s personal relationship with God.

In a narrow sense, faith is the relationship and knowledge of the Almighty by people, which was initiated by the Lord. That is, the Orthodox faith speaks of comprehending God only with the help of the means that he himself gave. This includes primarily revelations.

The Supreme is perceived as unknowable. Therefore, we can only know what he conveys to us based on human abilities of understanding.

Atheists

Within the framework of this article, it is worth touching on such a concept as atheism. If we turn to the translation of the term, it means “atheism.”

In fact, atheism is faith in man, science and progress. But the very concept of “faith” is unacceptable here. Scientific atheism asserts that the basis of the worldview of its followers is the acceptance of well-founded and proven facts, and not belief in myths.

Thus, such a worldview simply tries to describe the visible material world, without touching the question of God and faith at all.

Materialists

During Soviet times, materialism was known as the Russian faith. It was with a similar worldview, with an appeal to science and atheism, that they tried to replace the previous social foundations.

However, today supporters of this philosophy speak of it as a faith. Today, materialism is the unconditional belief that matter was primary and spirit was secondary.

Thus, faith in man and his ability to rule the world, and with proper development, the universe, forms the basis of this worldview.

Faith in ancient societies

Let's now talk about what happened before the first systematized faiths of the world appeared.

In primitive society, people first endowed all objects, living beings, landscape objects and natural phenomena with a soul. This worldview is called today animism.

Then fetishism appears (belief in the supernatural power of certain objects), magic and shamanism (belief in man’s ability to control nature).

But between these views, atheism and the subsequent return to spirituality, there is a long path traveled by humanity within the framework of various religions.

Christianity

A conversation about attitudes to faith in individual religions should begin with Christianity as the most widespread belief on the planet. This worldview has more than two and a half billion followers.

All life aspirations of a true Christian are aimed at salvation. Theologians say that the basis of faith lies not only in aspiration to the Lord, but also from events in real life. If we look at the history of mankind, we will see that the picture does not change throughout the millennia. As Fromm rightly noted, history is written in blood.

It is on this fact that the Orthodox faith is based. Here the basis is original sin. The priests claim that the condition in which we live is the result of disparate desires of body, mind and soul. Therefore, during your stay in this world, it is necessary to atone for, correct this failure, in order to feel bliss in paradise after death.

The Russian faith has always strived for holiness. It is in this territory that miracles occur in cells and various people of God travel, possessing the ability to heal, preach and other gifts.

PHILOSOPHICAL FAITH –

a concept that does not have universal significance and is not distinguished by semantic rigor, designed to emphasize the specificity of philosophical (as opposed to scientific and theological) thinking that carries out and justifies the choice of initial ideological principles. Philosophical faith is connected ch. O. with an intuitive type of mental activity and asserts itself primarily where there is no possibility of logical or empirical access to the subject (topic) of interest. Philosophical faith is distinguished from well-known forms of cognitive activity by the significant influence of the subjective factor. An attempt to give philosophical faith the status of an official philosophical term (Philosophishe Glaule) and raise its significance in the system of philosophical worldview was made by the German philosopher K. Jaspers.

The concept of “faith” (πιστις) in its broad meaning was already resorted to by ancient Greek philosophers (Heraclitus, Plato, Aristotle, etc.), but they did not perceive faith as a necessary element of philosophical thinking, much less as a symbol of wisdom. At best, it was considered as a subjective opinion or an initial stage of knowledge. In late antique and medieval European philosophy, oriented by Christianity, ch. O. on metaphysical and transcendental themes, faith strives to maximally strengthen its ideological, epistemological, ethical, axiological, etc. status and thereby absolutize its ideological and practical significance. This trend had a certain influence on subsequent stages of the development of philosophical thought. Thus, the founder of the methodology of experimental science, F. Bacon, continued to appeal to faith in its Christian interpretation. While giving faith its due in the fight against ignorance and superstition, he, however, denied its involvement in establishing scientific truths.

The real prerequisites for the formation of the idea of philosophical faith appeared only in the 18th century. To a large extent, this was facilitated by a skeptical attitude towards the idea of the positive role of traditionally understood faith in philosophy (P. Abelard, R. Descartes, B. Spinoza, T. Hobbes, P. Bayle, J. Locke, etc.). Already D. Hume drew the attention of philosophers to the difference between subject areas and functions, and, consequently, the level of philosophicalness of the purely religious (to which, as Hobbes argued, definitions and definitions are absolutely contraindicated) and secular (everyday) understandings of faith, i.e. what, for example, in English is denoted by the words faith and belief, respectively. Hume regarded the latter as a natural form of “living representation” that precedes the birth of ideas. I. Kant made an attempt to reveal the truly Sophian nature and essence of faith, to substantiate its exclusivity in the system of worldview and social practice. His faith, which is based exclusively on moral principles, does not intersect either functionally or substantively with revelation or knowledge. At the same time, being independent of the “doctrinal faith” of theological thinking and based on the confessional statutes of the “church faith,” “moral faith,” as a truly philosophical faith, is in essence a religious faith, for philosophy itself, according to Kant, is unthinkable without recognition of the Creator . The formal difference between “moral faith” and religious faith is largely eliminated by the moral principle that unites them. Both, being the product of pure practical reason, demonstrate absolute “confidence in the promise of the moral law.” The latter becomes essentially the criterion of the highest truth. Morality and the faith cultivated on its basis do not at all discredit knowledge (including scientific knowledge). They, as Kant strives to show, only establish its boundaries and sphere of competence. In contrast to knowledge oriented toward the world of phenomena, faith, as an instrument of a priori perception, is a kind of “guiding thread” where theoretical (speculative) thinking is powerless. The refusal of faith to claim objective reliability is fully compensated by the advantage of the subject’s personal conviction and the sense of fulfilled moral duty.

Having agreed with the idea of the inadmissibility of identification with religious, i.e. philosophical (since philosophy itself is a form of religious worldview), faith and church faith, Hegel at the same time decisively shifts the emphasis from the moral to the epistemic status of faith. Faith is not just a “peculiar form” of knowledge; it is “reliable” knowledge. Authenticity is “the very nerve of faith.” All previously known attempts to separate faith from rational thinking, and even more so to contrast them, testify, according to Hegel, to a dangerous illness of the human spirit and the loss of philosophical culture. Genuine faith (Hegel contrasts it with “abstract” faith, faith “in an allegedly philosophical sense,” which is a form of elementary sanity) is, therefore, reasonable faith, and even more precisely, “faith in reason.” Only it, and not the “vain reason” of enlightenment, makes a person a person, and philosophy - a means of familiarization with the secrets of the reflective spirit.

Postclassical philosophical thought by no means lost interest in the phenomenon of faith, but was able to offer little new to substantiate the specifics of its special philosophical form. The range of opinions on this matter remains quite significant. If, for example, B. Russell, who assigned philosophy a “no man’s land” stretching between science and theology, appealed exclusively to belief - faith of the “Platonic” (as he defined it) type, then Russian Christian philosophy in the person of N. Berdyaev generally brought yourself on the altar of the church faith. As for the numerous discussions around faith between representatives of neo-Thomism, orthodox and liberal Protestantism, dialectical theology and other directions of religious and philosophical thought, their philosophical significance is largely absorbed by the theological significance. A modern religious philosopher, as a rule, continues to look at philosophy as “the intellectually formed periphery of faith” (M. Buber).

K. Jaspers tried to solve the problem of constituting the concept of philosophical faith, filling it with real content and meaning. He builds his concept of philosophical faith mainly in accordance with German philosophical-Christian traditions, agreeing that any philosophical content lives “through religious faith,” but at the same time is in a completely correct relationship with science. Having supported the idea of Kant and Hegel about the need to “separation” of philosophical faith from the church, Jaspers also insists on its separation from the state. It is characterized by the individualization of philosophical faith (a philosopher, according to Jaspers, is generally an “individual person”), which ultimately contributed to its relative isolation not only from religious faith, which tends to objectify transcendence, but also from traditional philosophy, which it treats with respect , but not with obedience. The deeply personal nature of philosophical faith required a significant correction of its relationship with knowledge. Agreeing with the inevitability and necessity of the coexistence of philosophical faith and knowledge and not accepting any justification for nihilism leading to the “emptiness of denial,” Jaspers simultaneously speaks of the benefits of “humility in ignorance” (hence his negative attitude towards enlightenment). Having neither its own special subject nor objective support in the world of finite things, having abandoned claims to universal validity, philosophical faith, being “awareness of existence in relation to transcendence,” leads human thought to comprehend the origins of being and thereby not only gives meaning to life, but also contributes to the establishment of “world order” in the humanistic sense of this concept. As a meaning-forming factor, philosophical faith is not something irrational, as S. Kierkegaard previously insisted on, but Jaspers also includes among its specific features the rejection of rational isolation, which allows it to carry out an important and characteristic communicative function. In general, philosophical faith in its Jaspersian understanding is not a special tool for searching for truth and not a “way of experiencing,” but the only correct way of philosophical thinking itself.

Islam

Muslims approach issues of faith more strictly. Here “iman” (faith) means complete and unconditional acceptance of everything that the Prophet Muhammad conveyed to people. Any doubt in at least one of the six “pillars” of Islam turns a Muslim into a kaafir. In this case, he will have to sincerely repent and recite the Shahada, provided that he understands every word spoken.

The basis of Islam lies in six basic principles: belief in Allah, angels, books, messengers, Judgment Day and predetermination of fate. A devout Muslim is obliged to know all these “pillars”, pray five times a day and not commit even the slightest offense.

Thus, faith in the future is actually swept aside. On the one hand, Muslim fatalism lies in the fact that nothing depends on a person, everything is already written in the Great Book, and no one has the power to change their fate. On the other hand, it includes a sincere belief that Allah chose only the best for His children, so bad events are just lessons.

The problem of historical distance, “temporal distance” in interpretation and understanding

The problem is formulated as follows: how to interpret the text - from the time of the author or from the time of the interpreter? It is known that the later understanding of the text has an advantage; it is deeper than its original interpretation. The meaning of the text is determined not so much by random, individual moments, but by the temporary, historical situation in which the interpreter finds himself. Therefore, the meaning of the text always exceeds the author’s understanding, and understanding itself not only explicates the meaning, but also creates a new one in a new historical time. Temporary distance is not an abyss that needs to be bridged. Naive historicism requires immersion in the spirit of the era being studied, but any text appears in the light of the continuity of customs and traditions, so time distance is a positive fact. After all, a historical event, as it recedes into the depths of centuries, appears relatively complete, having acquired integrity, freed from accidents, which makes it possible to more objectively evaluate and understand it. Distance allows the real meaning of the event to emerge. Therefore, the text always remains incomplete; it is an endless process in time and culture. Assessing the significance of temporary distance, Gadamer notes that the temporary distance that carries out filtration is to some extent a closed quantity - it is involved in the process of constant movement and expansion…. It is this temporary distance, and only it, that allows us to solve the actual critical question of hermeneutics

The rooting of faith in pre-conceptual structures.

In everyday usage, faith means belief in something. Theoretical analysis reveals the complexity and multidimensionality of the concept of faith. For example, in the “Modern Philosophical Dictionary”, edited by

V. E. Kemerova (Moscow, 2004, p. 100) notes three meanings of the concept of “faith”: First, faith as the spiritual ability of the human soul to directly know the hidden layers of being (“estines”), to mystically abide in the center of a knowable object and intuitively comprehend essences. Secondly, faith is characterized as a person’s ability to recognize the adequacy of his sensory images to perceived things and phenomena; thirdly, faith appears as the ability to evaluate statements and other forms of mediated knowledge without sufficient logical and factual justification.

In psychology, faith is defined as a special state of the psyche, consisting in the complete and unconditional acceptance by a person of any information, texts, phenomena, events or his own ideas and conclusions, which can subsequently serve as the basis of his “I”, determine some of his actions, judgments , norms of behavior and relationships. This definition of faith indicates its deeply personal nature, since faith determines not only the cognitive attitudes of the individual, but also his behavior, actions, and deeds. It is an integral component of interpersonal relationships: the presence or absence of faith marks the moral qualities and actions of an individual. Faith plays a constructive role in the life of the individual and society, since it is one of the most important conditions for their joint existence. Faith constitutes a significant layer in a person’s worldview, which includes not only the picture of the world as a result of knowledge, but also that which is outside the realm of theoretical knowledge, that which a person is not able to grasp with reason. An overly complex world, phenomena that are not comprehended empirically, ideological issues that, in principle, are not given to a person in experience (the problem of death, the problem of consciousness, problems associated with determining the final causes of the universe, relating to the infinity of the world in time and space, etc. ) one way or another, are an object of faith. The power of faith can manifest itself as the recognition of something as true with such decisiveness that exceeds the strength of external factual and formal-logical evidence. Vladimir Solovyov argues that the strength of faith does not depend on external evidence, but on a special independent mental act, not determined entirely by empirical and logical principles.

knowledge. Like conviction

in anything, faith is based on the strong-willed qualities of the individual: a weak-willed person
is not sure of anything and does not believe in anything, he constantly rushes around in doubt.
Doubt, in turn, is the Antipode of faith, but faith is undoubtedly unstable and is lost in the presence of any fact that does not correspond to the available information.

Features of faith are determined by its subject

and
the personal characteristics
of its bearer, that is, the person who
believes.
They say that true love is worth exactly as much as the person who experiences it is worth. This observation has direct relevance to the Characteristics of Faith. Therefore, both in cognition and in the process of communication, the role of faith cannot be defined unambiguously. There are people who are suggestible, inclined to believe, who have a spiritual disposition, a spiritual organization aimed at the hidden, intimate layers of existence; they are attracted by everything mysterious, mystical, which is the subject of intuitive comprehension. Such faith can be blind, irrational, fanatical, and not accepting any reasonable alternatives. Giving an uncompromising characterization of fanaticism and atheism, Voltaire wrote that these are two monsters that can devour and tear apart society. The difference between them is that the atheist, in his delusion, retains reason, which trims his claws, while the fanatic is possessed by constant madness, which sharpens his claws.

In philosophical and journalistic literature, irrational faith is usually associated with religious faith, and rational faith with everyday and scientific knowledge. But there are also judgments that identify rational and irrational faith. Here is an example of such a one-sided understanding of faith: “... all faith... is based on fabrication. This falls under the definition of faith as such. What is a pen, but non-acceptance of what we only consider to be an immutable truth, something that we simply cannot prove?... In any religion, God is described through metaphors, allegories and exaggerations of various kinds. Anywhere from the ancient Egyptians to modern Sunday schools. Metaphor is nothing more than a way to help our consciousness accept the unacceptable. The problem comes when we start to take metaphors literally." (Dan Brown.

The Da Vinci Code. M., 2004. P. 359). It seems that such an identification of rational and irrational faith is not entirely correct. Irrational faith is not necessarily religious faith. Blind, unreasoning and uncritical faith in outdated dogmas regarding practical knowledge, methods of work, and outdated scientific concepts can be irrational. For example, T. Kuhn, describing crises and revolutions in science, shows how a significant part of scientists continue to work within the framework of an outdated paradigm, despite the critical mass of facts that actually refuted it. On the contrary, in the Middle Ages, theologians sought rational confirmation of religious faith. Thus, Augustine argued: one must believe in order to understand and understand in order to believe. Discussions of middle-class theologians of the 11th-12th centuries, in which the problem of correlation was discussed

carrying faith and understanding, boiled down to an alternative: “you cannot believe in what you did not first understand” (P. Abelard) and “Faith is of no use when it seeks reasonable evidence” (Bernard of Clairvaux). It is not difficult to guess who could win this intellectual duel. F. Aquinas found the formula of religious faith by classifying dogmas into rationally comprehensible (“God exists”) and rationally incomprehensible (“the world was created from nothing”). As you know, F. Aquinas attempted rational proof! existence of God, thereby demonstrating the admissibility of his proposed classification.

But faith, like love, differs not so much in the mechanisms of their manifestation, but in the subject to which they are addressed. Man is a particle of the cosmic whole, regardless of whether he is aware or not of his involvement in the entire universe. Distracted from everyday life, a person turns his gaze to the endless expanses of the ocean, the grandeur of the mountains, the starry sky, the formidable elements of natural disasters, and in everything he sees endless connections connecting him with the world, he experiences these connections, realizes the sublime beauty of the universe, the perfection of nature and of its creations, the birth and life of a person is carried out in constant contact and dependence on nature and other people. He feels like a part of this whole, called the world of nature and the world of society. The verp into the reality of everything that exists, that which surrounds him from birth to death, is the primary state of the human psyche, arising long before the formation of consciousness and thinking; it exists as an unconscious attitude, as a given, which is never questioned. Faith is rooted in the deep layers of a person’s mental life, it is ineradicable, indestructible, and is a necessary condition for human existence in the world.

Being a real component of the cosmic whole, each individual is penetrated by invisible connections common to the entire universe, resides in them and experiences them. The relationship “man and world” is a general prerequisite for the existence of faith. Religious faith

addressed" to the ultimate foundations of being, transcendental essences, substantial connections.
The object of religious faith is not the phenomenal world, but the noumenal world. Religious faith is formed thanks to a person’s spiritual ability to directly know the intimate phenomena of existence hidden from the surface view, the ability of mystical unity with the world and its intuitive comprehension. Rational faith is
the result of indirect knowledge of the world. In it, a single world is seen as divided into many different objects; its support is relatively true knowledge, since the internal connections of the universe are not always realized, and the reliability of sensory knowledge is conditional, relative. An object that is transformed by a person into a cognizable object loses many of its vital connections and acquires, to a certain extent, an artificial character.

Rational faith rests on a person’s ability to recognize the adequacy of his sensory images to perceived phenomena and on the ability to evaluate statements and other forms of indirect delusion as true without sufficient grounds. Here we mean ideas obtained as a result of the knowledge and practice of previous generations, which have proven their truth and practical benefit. Subtle knowledge, taken on faith, acts as a prerequisite for the further development of knowledge.

Judaism

If you compare Judaism with other religions, you get some discrepancy. Faith is not put above knowledge here. Here they try to answer any, even the most confusing, question, since it is believed that only by asking can one find out the truth.

Some sources refer to the interpretation of Havakkuk's quote. He said that a true righteous person will live only by his faith. But translated from Hebrew, the word “emunah” means “trust.”

Therefore, what follows is a discussion and comparison of these two concepts. Faith is an unconfirmed feeling of the truth of a certain object or event. Trust is based on knowledge of certain rules that the two parties adhere to.

Therefore, Jews believe that the Almighty sends them only what is right, good and good. And the basis of human life lies precisely in complete trust in the Lord, which, in turn, is the cornerstone of all commandments.

From here faith in the future grows, as a constant process of development and improvement of the human soul.

What is faith?

Faith is a FEELING from which thoughts are built (thoughts are the “inner eyes” for their manifestation in external actions - all religions have put it into the Psyche of the people, like “God Loves” - this is how the “eyes and ears” of the people will see, considering this to be real real truth.
For comparison, I can give an example with the feeling of jealousy. If a person has, for example, a negative feeling of jealousy (fear), which builds thoughts that have entered his psyche for implementation, then the person will actually see with his own “eyes” his agreement with this a vision, but in fact, it may turn out to be an illusion, because feelings of fear will always distort the real reality.

My conversation with GOD about the Love that is shown to people in all religions

Me: God, tell me why people see and understand your LIFE, inside of which lives Love for the creativity of Life and for all living things as such a terrible illusion?

God: Tick, how I was presented to them is how people imagine Me. For example, when you talk to Me, you ask that I teach you (help) solve some of your problems. You FEEL backed into a corner and don't know how to deal with your fear. And I, instead of teaching you and showing you that fear lives inside you, which only destroys your Life and this causes all your problems (your soul gets sick), I would answer everything to you - NO!

I can only love..., I love you..., Apart from love, I can give you nothing, but only love..., love, love... and I give you one answer:

Love is only about helping people. And everything else in your life, if you feel really bad, you get sick, suffer, suffer, but at the same time you think that it is I who teach you wisdom, sending problems, illnesses, trials, and, finally, death... so that on “ in the next world" to judge you... How could you ever recognize and understand Me, huh?

I remember I once told you that if you had lived in a non-atheistic family (your parents), and you had been raised by your religious grandparents, then you and I would never have met. Because your Psyche would be filled with information, not what I really am, but what all religions invented Me with their feelings of fear. And your belief (belief in 100% truth) would be based on your FAITH in their (grandparents) authority of knowledge.

Once again: What is faith?

Faith (I repeat) is a Feeling (of creativity) that builds thoughts, manifesting these thoughts by recognizing the “real truth” that God is exactly the way religions show Him to people. This is very, very sad.

Buddhism

Buddhism is considered by many to be one of the most popular religions in the world. But in fact it is a philosophical belief. If we look at the history of the emergence of this phenomenon, as well as its philosophy, we will see huge differences, for example, from Abrahamic beliefs.

Buddhists do not recognize original sin. Moreover, they consider karma to be the basic law, which is not a moral code. Therefore sin is not immoral in nature. This is a simple mistake, a misdeed of a person on the path to enlightenment.

Buddha said that the main goal is to achieve enlightenment. For this there are the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. If all thoughts, speeches and actions are correlated every second with these two postulates, then it will be possible to break the wheel of samsara (rebirth) and achieve nirvana.

Thus, we have figured out what faith is. We talked about the significance of this phenomenon for scientists, as well as for believers of different religions.
