Patrons of workers: which Orthodox saints help you find a job

Holy Martyr Tryphon

Most often, people turn to the holy martyr Tryphon for help, who from time immemorial has helped those who were left without a means of subsistence. It is not very clear what exactly this “specialization” of the saint is connected with, but the fact remains that thousands of believers, with his help, found a new place of work. Perhaps this is due to the fact that during his lifetime Tryphon himself could not pass by a person in need, he always helped, and now he is watching from heaven over those who are in need.

The memory of this saint is honored in the Church on February 14. The saint lived in the 3rd century AD in Phrygia and from an early age he was honored to have an extraordinary gift from the Lord - he cast out demons and healed human ailments, and once drove out locusts from the fields.

According to legend, he was brought as a young man to the palace of the Roman Emperor Gordian so that he could drive out the devil from the raging daughter of the ruler of Rome. The sixteen-year-old youth not only coped with the task, but also showed the emperor and his retinue the demon who had possessed the imperial daughter. Then Tryphon returned to his homeland, distributed everything that the emperor rewarded him with to the poor and began to preach the teachings of Christ.

When the persecutor of Christians, Decius, ascended the throne of the empire, he ordered Tryphon to be found, then tortured the young man so that he would renounce his faith. Having failed to achieve betrayal, Decius ordered Tryphon to be executed, and the young man’s head was cut off.

In Russia, the relics of the saint are in the icon of St. Tryphon in the church in the name of the icon of the “Sign” of the Most Holy Theotokos (Moscow, near the Rizhsky railway station); in the icon of St. Tryphon in the church in the name of the icon of the Mother of God “Unexpected Joy” (Maryina Roshcha) and in the Church of the Nativity of Christ (Izmailov).

Prayers for work

Prayer to Sergius of Radonezh for help in work

O heavenly citizen of Jerusalem, Reverend Father Sergius!
Look upon us graciously and lead those who are devoted to the earth to the heights of heaven.

You are a mountain in Heaven;

We are on earth, below, removed from you, not only by place, but by our sins and iniquities;

but to you, as our kin, we resort and cry: teach us to walk in your way, enlighten us and guide us.

It is characteristic of you, Our Father, to have compassion and love for mankind:

Living on earth, you should not only care about your own salvation, but also about everyone who comes to you.

Your instructions were the reed of a scribe, a cursive writer, inscribing the verbs of life on everyone’s heart.

You did not only heal bodily illnesses, but more than spiritual ones, an elegant physician appeared, and your whole holy life was a mirror of all virtues.

Even though you were so holy, more holy than God, on earth: how much more are you now in Heaven!

Today you stand before the Throne of the Unapproachable Light, and in it, like in a mirror, see all our needs and petitions;

You are together with the Angels, rejoicing over the one sinner who repents.

And God’s love for mankind is inexhaustible, and your boldness towards Him is great: do not stop crying to the Lord for us.

Through your intercession, ask our All-Merciful God for the peace of His Church, under the sign of the militant Cross, agreement in faith and unity of wisdom, destruction of vanity and schism, affirmation in good deeds, healing for the sick, consolation for the sad, intercession for the offended, help for the needy.

Do not disgrace us, who come to you with faith.

Even though you are unworthy of such a father and intercessor, you, an imitator of God’s love for mankind, made us worthy by turning from evil deeds to good living.

All God-enlightened Russia, filled with your miracles and blessed by your mercies, confesses you to be their patron and intercessor.

Show your ancient mercies, and those whom you helped your father, do not reject us, their children, who are marching towards you in their footsteps.

We believe that you are present with us in spirit.

Where the Lord is, as His word teaches us, there His servant will be.

You are a faithful servant of the Lord, and I exist everywhere with God, you are in Him, and He is in you, and moreover, you are with us in body.

Behold your incorruptible and life-giving relics, like a priceless treasure, may God grant us miracles.

Before them, as I live for you, we fall down and pray:

Accept our prayers and offer them up on the altar of God’s mercy, so that we may receive grace from you and timely help in our needs.

Strengthen us, the faint-hearted, and confirm us in the faith, so that we undoubtedly hope to receive all the good things from the mercy of the Master through your prayers.

Do not stop guiding your spiritual flock, gathered by you, with the rod of spiritual wisdom:

Help those who struggle, raise up the weakened, hasten to bear the yoke of Christ in complacency and patience, and guide us all in peace and repentance, end our lives and settle with hope in the blessed bosom of Abraham,

where you now rest joyfully after your labors and struggles, glorifying with all the saints God, glorified in the Trinity, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Matrona of Moscow

During her lifetime, this amazing saint, who lived in Moscow in the 20th century, became famous as a helper to those in need. She gave people the simplest advice, following which they successfully arranged their lives and the lives of their loved ones. And after her dormition, this saint does not refuse Christians who turn to her in prayer or visit her relics in the Intercession Monastery (Moscow).

It is known that one Orthodox Christian named Mikhail, after graduating from school, could not find a job for a long time. He lived in the provinces, where it is difficult to find a good place without connections, and he could not visit the saint in Moscow due to lack of money. Then he purchased a small icon of the saint and began to ask her for help every day. The young man found a job very quickly - he was offered a place in a fairly large company, where he has been working for 12 years and received several promotions during this time. At the same time, he never tires of thanking the saint for her intercession before God.

Muscovite Alena B. found herself in a difficult life situation - she was fired for health reasons, and Alena’s husband had been registered as unemployed for a year. The woman had no choice but to resort to the intercession of Matrona. She visited the relics of the saint, venerated them, and a miracle happened - her husband found a job literally within a week.

Another unemployed Muscovite named Andrey met a classmate when he was returning from Matrona, and he offered him a prestigious job in his company. That is, the request was heard by Saint Matrona almost instantly.

What icons will protect against witchcraft?

Since the formation of the Christian religion, images of saints have been used as protection from all evil, damage and the evil eye. There is at least one icon in the home of every Christian. For reliable protection against witchcraft influence, you must have the following images at home:

  • Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our Lady has strong miraculous energy. The image of the Virgin Mary must be in the apartment, in the child’s room or in the marital bedroom.
  • Seven-shot icon of the Mother of God. It has a powerful force, will cleanse the house from the effects of the evil eye, help get rid of the negative manifestations of damage, and improve relationships in the family.
  • Holy Matrona. By asking Matrona for help in prayer, you can be cured of a cold, headache, protect yourself and your home from damage, envy and evil people.
  • The icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is the strongest amulet. They turn to the saint for any health problems, especially if they were caused by damage.

These icons, located in the apartment, protect it from evil people, black magic and negative emotions from the outside. If you wear a small icon on a chain, you will be under constant protection from damage and unkind glances.

The face of John the Baptist will cure headaches

Saint Spyridon of Trimifuntsky

Saint Spyridon is the great protector of Orthodox believers. The saint lived in Cyprus at the beginning of the 4th century, led the righteous life of an ordinary layman, but after being widowed, he decided to serve God and people, distributing money to the poor and praying incessantly. The Lord gave him the gift of healing diseases and casting out evil spirits. Under the great emperor Constantine, he became bishop of Trimifunt.

Popular rumors never cease to talk about the miracles that this saint shows to people who turn to him for support.

Former unemployed Konstantin Z. says that the icon of the Saint came into the family by accident - it was given by an almost unbelieving relative. During his absence from work, Constantine knew on the Internet about many miracles that took place through the prayers of the Saint and decided to read an akathist to him for 40 days.

Less than 20 days had passed before he received a temporary job, which later became permanent. The earnings in the new place were decent, and Constantine was able to travel several times to the island of Corfu to the relics of the Saint to thank him there for his help.

Saint Mitrophan of Voronezh

The Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of this Russian saint three times: July 19, August 7 and September 4. They pray to Mitrofan not only for the gift of work, but for deliverance from financial difficulties.

Saint Mitrofan lived in the 17th century, became a widower at the age of 40 and decided to devote his life to God. He was the first bishop of the city of Voronezh, helped Emperor Peter the Great in reforms and even supplied the king with money, but did not approve of Peter’s communication with Europeans and flatly refused to visit his palace because of the statues of pagan gods located there. When the king threatened the saint with execution, he humbly began to prepare for it, which shamed the hot-tempered emperor.

The saint was very concerned about raising the younger generation to love work, did everything he could for this, and even wrote a book of instruction.

The relics of the saint are located in the city of Voronezh, in the Annunciation Cathedral.

Prayer is not a spell!

I would like to warn you that you should not resort to prayer to Orthodox saints as some kind of magical action. Prayer is not a spell, it is a request to a person who has earned the Kingdom of God with his whole life for intercession and protection.

It should be remembered that if it is not possible to come to venerate the relics, you should pray at their icon in the nearest church, or purchase an icon and pray in front of it. And if there is no way to do this, you should mentally turn with prayer to the saint, but most importantly - to God, and He will definitely help.

Which icon to choose

If you are a baptized person, you can turn to your guardian angel for help. Every baptized person should have a holy image of his patron in his home. By praying to your patron, you can get rid of many ailments, including damage.

  • The icon of the Mother of God should also be in every home. It is believed that any holy image of the Mother of God is capable of exuding miraculous healing power and can heal even hopeless people. For newborn babies, the icon is hung at the head of the bed to protect them from the evil eye.
  • The Seven-Arrow Icon is a very strong amulet for you and your home from the evil eye, hatred, damage and envy. Such an icon can relieve severe headaches caused by the evil eye, and also cleanses the energy of the house from negativity.
  • Saint Matrona will help relieve fever and fever due to spoilage, as well as cure various chronic and colds.
  • You can also use the holy image of Nicholas the Wonderworker. This is a very strong and powerful image. He is able to protect and heal any person who turns to him for help.
  • If damage has caused you to have diseases of the cardiovascular system, turn to the Holy Great Martyr Artemy for help. By praying to this saint, you can remove the evil eye and damage, as well as the diseases that they caused.
  • Of course, with such a problem you can turn to Jesus and the Holy Trinity for help. These icons are very strong and not for nothing that they are quite popular. Their applications are very diverse. They are hung in the house, in the car, worn in the form of crosses and pendants around the neck.

If the damage or evil eye is strong enough, then it is better to pray for recovery with the whole family. This will ensure a stronger impact and faster recovery.
