“In Egypt and Babylon, snails were considered a symbol of eternity and fertility.
In medieval Europe they seemed to be the embodiment of sin and laziness, because they were born from dirt and feed on it, and later in the age of Protestantism they became an expression of modesty (I carry everything I own with me). In Islam it is a symbol of doubt. And for Buddhists, a snail shell is time frozen on the body of a living being, and the snail itself is patience personified.” Snails have long been endowed with the ability to cure various ailments and are still used in magical remedies. One of the well-known ways to remove warts is to stroke them with a snail, then pierce it with a needle and leave it on a tree trunk. When it dies, the warts will also disappear. In some places it was considered necessary, after pricking a snail, to drive as many nails into the tree trunk as there were warts.
Another way is to pierce the snail and lubricate the wart with whatever comes out of the puncture. Then the snail must be buried along with a needle or ordinary thorn sticking out of it.
In the past, by the way, the liquid released when the cochlea was punctured was dripped into the ears when they hurt.
When treating whooping cough, the gypsies put the snail on a piece of sugar, and when it was completely covered with mucus, they gave it to the patient to eat.
Another remedy for the same disease was porridge prepared from crushed snails and finely chopped mouse carcass.
For a normal cough, the child was prescribed two or three snails boiled in oatmeal broth or tea.
At a time when fever was common, they tried to prevent it by wearing a snail in a pouch around the neck for nine days, after which they threw it into the fire. “The snail will shake as if from a fever,” the healers claimed, “and from that moment the person will stop having a fever.”
A compress of snails taken from their shells and crushed is said to cure gout.
The mucus left by snails was considered a remedy against tuberculosis, and two hundred years ago doctors prescribed it to their patients. The snails were taken out of their shells, parsley, sugar, and spring water were added and then taken daily with red cow milk. To all of the above, crushed earthworms were added.
A more radical remedy for tuberculosis was to collect small white snails while the dew was still wet and swallow them alive so that they would eat the mucus from the lungs, which was believed to cause the disease.
In some places, even today, in the treatment of chest diseases, they swallow a live snail in the evenings for nine days. If recovery does not occur immediately, the course is repeated up to four to five times as necessary. People believe that the snails continue to live in the stomach for a while, secreting mucus that heals irritated lungs.
* * * There are many signs and fortune-telling associated with snails. If a snail crawls across the road you are walking on, then in some places it means rain, in others it means bad luck. If a snail crawls into the house, it means increased wealth in the family. That is why snails are painted on the threshold of a house or apartment.
The first snail seen after leaving the house is supposed to be caught by one of its horns and thrown over the left shoulder. Then the business you are pursuing will work out. But if you throw a snail over your right shoulder, something bad will happen.
To find out your future spouse, you need to close the snail in a plate. The next morning, the initials of the future lover will be written on the bottom of the mucus.
In another love fortune-telling, two small leaves picked from any tree are placed in front of the snail. If a snail crawls onto a leaf, bright prospects await you. If you hide under it, your desire to achieve your partner’s favor is currently impossible!
With the help of snails they also guess about their own well-being in the near future.
Find a snail after the rain, bring it home and place it on a damp surface. Prepare three small white pieces of paper. On one, write the dollar or euro symbol, on the other, the ruble, and on the third, the word “water.”
Place these pieces of paper in front of the snail at a distance of 10-15 cm from it. If the snail likes the dollar bill better, you're in luck. Great financial success awaits you in the future.
If a snail chooses a “ruble” leaf, this means that your well-being will fluctuate: it can be both thick and empty.
Well, the third piece of paper, if the snail chooses it, promises you lack of money, bread and water in the near future.
Seeing a crawling snail in a dream means an unhealthy and unfavorable environment.
If you step on a snail, you will have to come into contact with unpleasant people.
Just seeing a snail in a dream will require some effort from you, which you will direct to solving the most pressing issue.

The sacred meaning of the snail Snails and their ancestors appeared more than 500 million years ago, when there was no talk of human existence. These ancient creatures were of interest to our distant primitive ancestors. They used shells to create jewelry and amulets. With the development of human thought, the snail began to be endowed with various symbolic meanings. Associations arising from the sight of this mollusk were associated with the peculiarities of its structure and behavior. In the life of the peoples of the world, the snail had a very diverse meaning. Snails and Egyptian pyramids Even before our era, snails became known to man. They could be found almost everywhere. Certain types of snails delighted the eyes of a wide variety of peoples and settlements, including the earliest ones in human history. Already during the time of ancient Egyptian civilization, the snail received its first identification. The Egyptians considered the snail a symbol of eternity. This was due to the fact that the structure of its shell was associated with the turns of the time spiral. They were worn as amulets against old age and illness. It was believed that they were able to stop time and preserve youth for many years. Even the tombs built by the Egyptians in the form of pyramids often had a labyrinthine structure, similar to the structure of a snail’s shell. In addition, the snail was considered ready to move to another world, since all its belongings were always kept with it. Perhaps this is what gave birth to the idea that it was necessary to complete the tombs with everything that the deceased had during his lifetime. The tombs of Egyptian nobles and pharaohs are very similar to a snail, inside of which its entire world and itself are stored. Snail in Christianity Christianity has an equally interesting view of this mysterious mollusk. However, the position of this religion in relation to the snail is twofold. The first association of Christianity was the snail's lazy existence in the mud, where it is born and lives. It was believed that she is a symbol of sin, since she does not seek food and paths to purity. Remaining in the mud, it feeds on mud and rot. In this same regard, the snail is also considered a symbol of death, since it lives in the land to which the dead are buried. Despite such a strict view of Christianity, sacred symbolism was also found in the behavior of the snail. Some species hibernate for the winter. They hide in the shell, sealed with a mucus plug, which then dries out and hardens. In the spring, she climbs out of the shell again and returns to life. This feature of behavior was compared with the resurrection of Christ, and it began to be considered the personification of eternal life and rebirth. The meaning of the snail in other cults and religions In many ancient cults, the snail was considered a symbol of fertility and the moon. The first association arose due to the fact that the emergence of a child from the mother’s womb resembles how a snail crawls out of its shell. The growing shell of a snail is associated with the moon. Her shell grows slowly, just like the moon. There are also versions that her horns reminded their ancestors of a thin moon being born. The peoples of Mexico depicted the moon god holding a snail shell in his hands. Shells were actively used in religious services and thematic painting. Shells were also used in organizing midwifery ceremonies. Women in labor put on amulets to ease their pain. In Islam, the snail is considered a symbol of mistrust, as its position is changeable. She can hide in unfavorable situations in her shell. Another interesting meaning associated with the behavior is the ancient Eastern view of this creature. Her shell was considered God's all-hearing ear. In Buddhism, it has become a symbol of patience and the pursuit of good intentions. And the famous teachings of Feng Shui endowed the snail with the ability to bring happiness and tranquility. Modern meaning of symbolism Of course, in the modern world they no longer pay such close attention to the sacred meaning of the snail. Its main symbolic meanings are slowness and laziness. However, to this day people observe their behavior. Many people even have giant Achatina or water ampularia at home. The snail's grace and serenity still make these creatures incredibly interesting. In addition, many people follow folk superstitions, in which these horns often appear. For example, a snail crawling into a house is considered a harbinger of prosperity. And a dream about a snail will mean that you have to put in very little effort and patience before you get what you want.

Every year the number of exotic animals in city apartments is increasing. And if in the past they mostly kept cats and dogs, now when you come to visit you can increasingly see not a dormant mug, but a spider, lizard or snake.
In addition to them, snails quite often become pets. In most cases, these are huge snails from Africa - Achatina. The most popular are Marginata Suturalis, Arhahatina, Arhahatina Marginata Ovum, Achatina Reticulata and Achatina Fulica.
It must be said that snails have attracted human attention since ancient times. For example, in Ancient Greece, snails were used as a cure for diseases.
The Phoenicians used red snails to obtain red dye, which they used to dye their fabrics. As for South America and Africa, large snail shells were used there as a unit of exchange, replacing money. In addition, since most snails have a spiral-wrapped shell, they were highly revered by some peoples, as the spiral was believed to be a symbol of life.
Despite the fact that gastropods are rather shy in their behavior, they are domesticated and tamed quite quickly. The most tame are Achatina Reticulata, which not only quickly get used to hands, but even allow themselves to be stroked. But there are also species that are so shy that, even when born in captivity, they never get used to being handled.
Snails live in small groups. When it gets cooler at night, they slowly go in search of food. They search for her only by touch, using their tentacle-horns for this purpose. Snails have poor vision, so all they can distinguish is light from darkness and day from night. But their sense of smell is very well developed. In any case, representatives of certain species can smell food located at a distance of several meters. They are completely unpretentious in food and can eat leaves, worms and even small larvae of other forest inhabitants.
Snails owe their popularity among people to the fact that they do not create any noise, and if everything is in order with their health, then they also do not shed, do not smell, and do not create any special troubles in their maintenance.
What do snails contain?
To set up a coop, they use terrariums and aquariums, plexiglass aquariums, as well as all kinds of houses for keeping rodents. Even food containers and other plastic containers can be used. One adult snail requires at least 10 liters of volume, but if you want to raise your pet to the maximum possible size, then it is better to provide it with 15-20 liters of volume.
The lid of the snail should cover it with noticeable density in order to maintain the necessary humidity inside the room and to prevent the snail from leaving its native land. To allow air to penetrate into the room, several small holes should be made in the lid. The most effective type of terrarium is horizontal, although some tree snails prefer vertical terrariums.
The terrarium should be cleaned regularly. Excrement must be removed, and the lid and walls of the terrarium should be wiped with a damp sponge as the walls become dirty. About every month and a half, the terrarium needs to be thoroughly cleaned, thoroughly washing the terrarium itself with laundry soap and completely changing the soil.
ANIMAL OF THE HOURS according to the Chinese calendar
In addition, the Animal of the Hour describes a person’s attitude towards children. If an astrologer studying a complete horoscope is asked about children, he will refer to the sign of the hour.
How to identify the Animal of the hour
At first glance, identifying the Animal of the Hour should be easy, but it is not. Chinese astrologers divide the day into 12 double hours. The important thing is that the first double hour of the Rat begins not at midnight, but at 23 hours. Midnight itself is the middle of the double hour of the Rat, and then everything goes simply: the hour of the Ox is from 1 to 3 am, the hour of the Tiger is from 3 to 5 am, etc.
The second point that needs to be taken into account is time zones (24 zones into which the earth's surface is divided to calculate standard time). The time difference between neighboring zones is 1 hour.
There are also several strange anomalies in the world: for example, China is located in 5 time zones, but throughout the country one standard time is used - VIII zone. There are 11 time zones on the territory of Russia. To make travel more interesting, Russian airlines use local time for departure and arrival, but on the railway only Moscow time is used, even if local time differs by 7-8 hours.
The solution to both problems associated with determining the hour of birth is solar time: count time from true noon - the moment when the Sun is at its zenith (highest point).
If you are afraid of making a mistake, measure the time when the Sun reaches its climax. If the clock shows 12:00, then local time is true. And if it is, for example, 12:30, subtract 30 minutes from the hour of birth to get the time for the horoscope.
The ancient Chinese, who did not have instruments to measure time, determined the time of birth using incense sticks. When the child was born, the stick was lit. It burned until dawn (if the child was born at night) or sunset (if the child was born during the day), and then the stick was extinguished. When the family turned to the astrologer, he measured how much the incense had burned, and thus calculated the hour of birth.
Soil for keeping snails
The best soil for keeping snails is fine-grained coconut substrate. Before adding soil to the terrarium, it must be processed. To do this, you need to either heat it in the oven or microwave for a few minutes or pour boiling water over it. With this, the larvae of fruit flies and other insects will be destroyed. In addition, this reduces the amount of salt in the soil. Whatever soil is chosen, it should be loose - this will allow snails to burrow into it with ease.
It is not recommended to place stones in the terrarium, since snails sometimes fall from the lid of the terrarium and can break their shell on the stone. Electric lighting, which is so necessary for fish, is completely unnecessary for snails. Thanks to this, you can choose a suitable place in the apartment for the coop without any hassle.
Where is the best place to place the Hotei figurine?
You can place a figurine of the god of prosperity in your apartment in a variety of places. Those who want to gain respect and honor should place the figurine not far from the door in the hallway. At the same time, Hotei’s gaze should be clearly directed at the entrance. People who dream of success and recognition are recommended to place a figurine in the southern part of the house. If Hoteychik is placed in the southeastern zone of the home, he will be able to attract good luck to the owners in lotteries and gambling. The figurine of God, placed in the eastern sector, attracts harmony and harmony into the apartment.
According to Feng Shui, the god of wealth Hotei is located in a house depending on the intentions of its owners. It is best to place a figurine of a pot-bellied man with a cane in the health sector. It is preferable to place a figurine with a pearl in the sector of knowledge and wisdom (north-eastern zone). The best place for the god of prosperity, surrounded by a pack of children, is considered to be the western or southwestern part of the home.
Note! Since the meaning of Hotei in Feng Shui is very capacious and extensive, you can buy several figurines, placing them in the most visible places in the house.
What temperature is needed to keep snails?
Without exception, all snails require a humid and fairly warm microclimate. Ideally, the temperature for their maintenance should be within 25-30 degrees. If the ambient temperature drops too low, the snails will react with a decrease in appetite and decreased activity. They can even hibernate, and this always indicates that the living conditions of the gastropods are disturbed.
When a snail goes into hibernation, it closes the entrance to the shell with a “door” and it will be very difficult to bring it out of hibernation. In order for the snail to wake up, it will have to be “bathed” in warm water until it decides to look out of its house. Therefore, if the room where the coop is located is quite cool, it would be wise to provide it with heating using a thermal mat or a regular incandescent light bulb. However, it is worth considering that if the light bulb is close to the cochlea, the snail leaning against its wall may get burned.
Xuan Kun Da Gua Feng Shui
Xuan Kong Da Gua at the Space level
This is a continuation of a short series of articles on the topic of SKDG. The first article is here >>>
As already mentioned, we work with SKDG methods both at the level of Time and at the level of Space. But the main feature of this system is that we can combine these two levels into a single system with the Human level, thereby achieving complete synchronicity, and therefore the maximum effect from our actions.
Synchronization occurs at the level of selecting dates in the SKDG system, but you still need to prepare for selecting dates.
Therefore, it is recommended to begin studying Xuan Kun Da Gua with those methods that are designed to work with Space.
This is where we will start...
Xuan Kong Da Gua - a few words about the origins
The methods of the Xuan Kong Da Gua school were originally developed and used in Yin Feng Shui, that is, for the placement of burials.
When placing burials, ideally it was necessary to find water and a beautiful mountain, and then correctly position the burial in relation to these objects.
Qi enters the burial through a correctly oriented tombstone and forms Shen Qi, which is transformed and transmitted to the relatives of the deceased. This is the theory of Yin Feng Shui in a nutshell.
A tombstone is a kind of antenna or door for burial, through which qi of the required quality enters the burial.
Xuan Kung Da Gua in Yang Feng Shui
In Yang feng shui, a house or apartment is the link that serves to accumulate qi received from space and transfer this qi to the person who lives in this house.
The front door to a house is to him what a tombstone is to a burial. The facade of this door plays the role of an antenna and receives the qi to which this antenna is directed.
For burials, the face of the tombstone is of greatest importance. In relation to residential buildings, the front of the door brings that original qi (Earth qi), which will help us produce shen qi. The shen qi that is produced in our home is transformed and transmitted to us wherever we are. Its influence on us is much stronger and more stable. It is very important!
Xuan Kong Da Gua uses the front door façade rather than the façade of the entire house or apartment
If we look at this from a global perspective, we, first of all, need to check what quality of qi the front door to our home receives. It is ideal if you can see a mountain, river, stream or lake from the front door of the house. However, for most of us, especially in urban areas, such facilities are not available.
In this case, a road, a road intersection, or a driveway to a house can act as a water feature. In all these cases, to measure the direction in which such an object is located, the door is again taken as the reference point and measurements are made with a compass, which is aligned with the center of the doorway.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that this kind of object should not just be somewhere nearby, you should see it while standing in the entrance doorway. If the object is hidden behind a fence, corner of a building, etc., you will not be able to use its energy.
It is acceptable for the water body to be visible not from the front door, but from the door of the second (or any other) floor balcony.
If there are no water or similar objects near your home, then you can create such an object yourself, if your conditions allow it.
If you live in a private house and there is a piece of land in front of the front door of your house, you can place a fountain on it. The requirements for such an object are limited to the fact that the stream of water should not hit too hard towards the door. It is best if it flows slowly over stones or steps cascading towards the door.
If you live in an apartment building, you can install a decorative fountain on your balcony. Personally, I have been doing this for several years in one of the apartments. Throughout the warm season, I had a decorative fountain on my balcony.
If we look at all this from a global perspective, then it matters to us how the entrance door itself is oriented (or the balcony door, if we look relative to it) and in which hexagram from it the source of qi is located. This is how we determine the quality of qi that the front door accumulates in our house, then transferring this qi to us.
However, we can also look at this from the perspective of the interior of an apartment/house. This is especially important if we cannot see anything like this from the entrance doors and, accordingly, cannot determine what quality of qi is entering our house.
Xuan Kong Da Gua at the level of interior solutions
If you do not understand what kind of qi is being transmitted to you by the front door of your home, you should provide yourself with other “translators”, but at the interior level. What can we use for this?
Several options
Each room in your house has an entrance door (interior door). She can also become a “receiver” of Shen Qi, which she will then transfer to the person who spends a lot of time in this room. To do this, we need to place a water feature on the outside of the door at the correct degree relative to it.
Of course, the qi that the interior door will transmit will be much weaker than if there was a natural body of water behind the front door of the house, but it is still much better than nothing.
Another option for receiving good quality qi is to correctly position the desktop in relation to the entrance door to the office...
or installing a water feature inside a study at home or in an office.
The student’s table also plays a very important role, therefore, it will not be superfluous if you install it correctly and, again, correctly position the water body relative to it.
Another way to “catch” Shen Qi can be to place the bed in the “correct” hexagram. But, already without any water bodies. The reasons probably don’t need to be explained.
How to calculate all this?
I’ll say right away that the Xuan Kung Da Gua system is not the simplest. It is for this reason that I decided not to present any calculations in article format.
To use the system, a full study of the professional course materials is required. Otherwise, if you rely on scraps of information from articles, you can harm yourself more than the potential beneficial effect that can be obtained from the correct application of the system’s methods.

What humidity is needed to keep snails?
The bulk of domesticated snails belong to land species. However, even they cannot survive for a long time without water. To maintain the required humidity in the coop, you can use a spray bottle to spray the flowers. All you need to do is spray the terrarium and its inhabitants with it a couple of times a day. This will be enough to maintain the desired humidity level, which should ideally be around 75-90%.
It is best to spray with warm water. If possible, you should purchase a hygrometer that can be used to measure air humidity. If the humidity in the coop is insufficient, this can also lead to the pet going into hibernation.
If the snails are more than one and a half months old, they will need to put water in some kind of bowl from which they will drink and in which they will bathe. As for kids, the moisture that accumulates on the walls of the terrarium is enough for them to do this. It should be remembered that the size of the pool must match the size of the snail so that it does not drown while swimming. It is also necessary to ensure that the snail does not overturn its “pool”, otherwise the soil will become waterlogged.
How to arrange plants on a plot according to Feng Shui
According to Feng Shui, the arrangement of plants on the site should be fully consistent with the special magical Bagua square. This square will divide the surrounding space into nine zones, each of which corresponds to one living area.
When all the flora of a summer cottage is planted correctly, the plants will work for the benefit of their owner, charging the surrounding space with positive energy and destroying negative energy. The Bagua grid can be downloaded on the Internet, and then simply overlaid on the garden plan so that all cardinal directions correspond to their real location (this can be checked with a compass).
The most important point when using the Bagua grid is the real perception of their possessions by their owner. If, for example, a person considers his country house and the plot on which it is located to be a single whole, then the grid is superimposed on it entirely. If the site is divided into zones, for example, a residential and recreation area, then it would be more correct to use a square in each of the zones separately.
North – career area
The northern part of the site is responsible for a person’s work and career advancement. According to the rules of Feng Shui, this part should be visible to surrounding people passing by the site. You shouldn’t install a blind fence here; on the contrary, it’s better to open this part as much as possible and make it elegant and eye-catching.
In the quarry area, it is recommended to plant bright flowers of different colors, and the best tree to choose is hazel, as it will help the owner of a country estate achieve significant success in his work.
South-West - zone of family and marriage
In this part of the garden it is best to plant rose hips - a shrub responsible for feelings and emotions, as well as white and red roses.
Planting those flowers that a man gave to his woman during the candy-bouquet period will also strengthen the relationship. With a properly equipped love zone, the relationship in a couple will always be strong and the marriage will always be happy.
East – family zone
This part of the site should unite all relatives who spend time in this country house. Ask each family member to choose the flowers that he likes best and arrange beautiful, bright flower beds that will please the eyes of all your family and friends.
Health issues are also associated with the family zone, so you can plant medicinal herbs here.
Of the trees in terms of energy, alder and birch are most suitable for the eastern part of the site.
Southeast - zone of wealth
In the southeastern area of the garden, which is responsible for material wealth, it is best to “settle” plants of orange and yellow colors, surrounding them with silver or golden decorative elements - then the well-being of the owners will improve every day.
You can also choose flowers in blue, as it will fill this part of the garden with the energy of water. You can place garden sculptures or some other decorative items in the southeast that you will associate with financial well-being. The main thing is not to overdo it with their quantity!
Center – zone of luck
This part of the site must be treated with special attention, since patron plants should “live” here. You can familiarize yourself with the Druid horoscope or the flower horoscope and determine your patrons from the world of flora in order to properly arrange the center of your possessions.
If there are several owners of the plot, or if relatives and family members often vacation here, take a look at their horoscope to find worthy neighbors for your plants.
North-West - zone of teachers and friends
As the name implies, this part of the garden, if properly arranged, will attract loyal friends and experienced mentors into your life.
Feng Shui experts recommend setting up a recreation area here: putting up a gazebo, grill or barbecue, creating an area for active games, and also decorating the space with a rock garden or rock garden.
Pay attention to the color of the vegetation - it is best to harmonize this area with white flowers.
The West is a zone of children and creativity
The most positive and cheerful part of the site needs to be filled with the creative energy and spirit of the younger generation. Bright flowers will help you with this, pleasing to the eye and bringing inspiration and, of course, tulips - a symbol of motherhood and fatherhood. The best tree to choose is acacia.
If space allows, arrange in this area a playground, a swimming pool for children, a trampoline, or any corner where the little guests of your property will have fun and interesting time.
Northeast - knowledge zone
The best option in this part of the site would be an orchard - it will help to activate this vital area. An excellent choice would be fruit trees and a small bench, gazebo or rocking chair, where you can sit comfortably in the shade with your favorite book.
If you have already planted fruit trees in another area, it doesn’t matter. You can place ash, pine, maple or any other plants in the northeast that remove negative energy and clear your mind of bad thoughts.
