History of the icon
The face of the Most Pure Virgin Mary “Deliverer from Troubles” was kept on the Sacred Hill of Athos until the end of the eighteenth century, then it was transferred to the New Athos Simon-Kananitskaya monastery, which is located in the Caucasus. Temple and miracles of the icon of the Deliverer in the village of Tashla
It must be said that the name of the image contains the faith of Orthodox people. The icon of the Mother of God protects from grief and disaster all who offer prayer requests before her. Also, in addition to the icon, there is a healing spring in this village. The indigenous people claim that water from the spring provides relief from various ailments. According to one legend, which says that the Most Pure Mother of God came to a resident of the village of Tashla, temporarily living in a neighboring village, in her dreams and showed her the place where her icon was kept in the ground.
The woman told her friends about her night vision. Then they decided to fulfill the order of the Mother of God and went to the indicated place to reveal the holy image. During the excavations, a lot of people gathered near the girls in order to see the miracle with their own eyes. Some even laughed at their friends, but suddenly everyone fell silent. The friends saw the holy image of the Mother of God from the ground, and when it was completely dug out of the ground in the place where the icon of the Mother of God was, a miraculous spring began to flow.
This is exactly how the Tashlinsky face of the Mother of God, Deliverer from troubles, was revealed. When the Holy Image was transferred from the place of its discovery to the cathedral, the first deliverance occurred. A resident of the village, thirty-two-year-old Anna, who felt a loss of strength, kissed the icon and immediately felt better, and everyone present at that time felt unprecedented happiness. The shrine was placed in the center of the church for veneration.
A short time later, the Reverend Father Mitekin came to the village, but the shrine miraculously disappeared before his visit, no one could find it. The second time the icon of the Mother of God was found in the seventeenth year. They found it where it was found for the first time. The whole village gathered at the healing spring, but the priest could not take the face. Reverend Father Mitekin knelt down and with sincere repentance began to beg for forgiveness of all his sinful acts.
From that time on, the holy image of the Virgin Mary, the Deliverer from troubles, was kept for a long time in the village of Tashla. In church chronicles there is much evidence of miracles sent by the holy image. Among them there is a story that is dedicated to the boy Anastasius, who fell ill with a terrible and fatal illness. But, unfortunately, all the parents’ attempts and treatment did not bring the desired results, and the baby only got worse day by day. Looking at the suffering of their child, the boy’s parents asked the priest to conduct the rite of communion. But the reverend father was late to the baby, and Anastasius died.
On the way to the suffering man, the reverend father met Martianin and asked him to go with him. The Martian had with him the face of the Mother of God, the Deliverer from troubles. The reverend father could not forgive himself for not having time to come to the boy and began, together with the elder, to read the prayer of the Most Pure Virgin Mary and pray for the resurrection of the baby. While the prayer was being read, the icon lay on the boy’s body. They all prayed for the resurrection together: the Reverend Father, the Martian and Anastasia’s parents.
After reading the prayer, the Martian crossed the boy’s face three times with the icon of the Mother of God. Suddenly the incredible happened - the boy came to life, he had a pulse and Anastasy opened his eyes. Then the communion ceremony was performed with him and Anastasy completely recovered.
Miracles created
There are many stories about a miracle created by an icon. One of them tells how a boy named Anastasy fell ill with a serious and incurable disease. But despite all the efforts and struggle of the parents and the baby with the disease, the boy got worse and worse. Seeing that nothing was helping the child, the parents asked the priest to give the baby communion. But the priest did not have time to visit the patient, and the boy died.
On the way to the sick man, the priest invited Martianin with him. He brought with him the icon of the Deliverer from troubles. The priest, not giving himself any peace that he was late to the child, began, together with Martinian, to pray to the Mother of God and ask her to help resurrect the child. Throughout the prayer, the icon was on Anastasia’s body. Everyone asked for this: the priest, the elder and the parents.
After they finished reading the prayer, the elder christened the child’s face three times with the face of the Mother of God. And a great miracle happened - the baby came to life. He opened his eyes and began to breathe. And after he was given Holy Communion, he stopped getting sick.

Meaning of the icon
Some ancient images of the Most Pure Mother of God contain an image on the robe of the Virgin Mary of five-pointed stars - pentagrams. In ancient times, the five-pointed star symbolized "Holiness, duty and loyalty." But after a while, around the beginning of the sixteenth century, images of five-pointed stars began to be used by various religious organizations, and then by the Communist Party. Miracles from the Icon of the Mother of God “Deliverance from Troubles”
In May 2005, a 69-year-old resident of the city of Lyudinovo (Kaluga region) got lost in the forest. Her children organized a search, but this did not yield any results. On the fifth day they began to ask the Most Holy Theotokos for help. The children performed home prayer in front of the icon “Deliverance from the Troubles of the Suffering” and ordered a prayer service in the Kazan Cathedral.
The next day, the missing woman was able to get onto the road. There she was found by a passing young man, who brought her home. The family called a doctor, but their help was not needed. The woman was absolutely healthy, although she had not eaten anything for six days and drank water from a puddle. There were only mosquito and tick bites.
In 2007, a young man, Roman, received healing from the Lyudinovo Icon of the Mother of God “Deliverance from the Troubles of the Suffering.” He suffered from gambling addiction for a long time (he spent all his earned money on slot machines). On the advice of the priest, Roman began to regularly confess and receive communion. He also constantly ordered a prayer service before the miraculous image “Deliverance from the troubles of the afflicted.” Soon his passion for games disappeared.
In 2015, a resident of the city of Arzamas (Nizhny Novgorod region), L.A. Glebova was diagnosed with cancer.
