Most modern professions require us to spend hours in front of computer screens or peering at fine book print. Both physical and emotional stress have a negative impact on vision. It is impossible to meet a person who does not at least sometimes experience the following symptoms:
- dry eyes;
- headache;
- pain, stinging, feeling of “sand” in the eyes;
- redness of the eyeballs;
- blurred vision;
- lacrimation.
Students, office workers, drivers and representatives of other professions who often have to strain their eyes often face such problems. To relieve stress, you need to take a break at least once an hour and distract yourself from computer screens and gadgets. Another great way to relieve fatigue and take care of vision restoration is to perform a small set of eye exercises.
How eye exercises work
Eye exercises not only help to get rid of the symptoms of fatigue: it is often prescribed by ophthalmologists for vision disorders - myopia, farsightedness and astigmatism. Eye training can be used to prevent vision deterioration, and it is best to start doing it right from childhood. There are a large number of exercise options, but they are all aimed at solving the following problems:
- relaxation of the eye muscles;
- improved focusing;
- stimulation of the lacrimal glands (which is especially useful against dry eyes);
- improving blood circulation and oxygen saturation of tissues;
- elimination of symptoms of nerve spasms and visual discomfort.
Despite the effectiveness of exercises for improving vision, they have contraindications:
- infectious diseases and inflammation - gymnastics can increase pain;
- retinal detachment - doing eye exercises with this diagnosis is simply dangerous, since blood flow to the eyes can lead to retinal rupture;
- rehabilitation period after eye surgery - during this time the eyes need complete rest.
In any case, if you have any doubts or experience discomfort during gymnastics, you should consult a doctor who will select an individual level of stress for you based on your medical history and advise you on how to train correctly.
Orthodox prayers for healing eyes
Oh, all-validated and all-honorable bishop, great miracle worker, saint of Christ, Father Nicholas, man of God, and faithful servant, man of desires, chosen vessel, strong pillar of the church, bright lamp, shining star and illuminating the whole universe, you are a righteous man, like a flourishing phoenix , planted in the courts of your Lord: living in Mireh, you were fragrant with myrrh, and you exuded the ever-flowing grace of God.
By your procession, holy father, the sea was sanctified, when your many-wonderful relics marched to the city of Barsky, from east to west to praise the name of the Lord. Oh, most graceful and wonderful miracle worker, quick helper, warm intercessor, kind shepherd, saving the verbal flock from all troubles, we glorify you and magnify you, as the hope of all Christians, the source of miracles, the protector of the faithful, the wise teacher,
the hungry for the feeder, the weeping for joy, the naked for clothing, the sick for the physician, the sea-floating steward, the captive liberator, the widows and orphans for the nourisher and intercessor, the guardian of chastity, the gentle chastiser for babies, the old fortifications, the fasting for the mentor, the toilers for rest, the poor and wretched for abundant wealth.
Hear us praying to you and running under your roof, show your intercession for us to the Most High and intercede with your God-pleasing prayers all that is useful for the salvation of our souls and bodies: preserve this holy monastery (or: this temple), every city and all, and every Christian country
and people living, from all bitterness with your help: we know, we know that the prayer of a righteous person can do much, hastening for good: for you, the righteous one according to the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, intercessor to the All-Merciful God, imams,

We are still unworthy to behold the heights of heaven, because of the multitude of our iniquities: we are bound by sinful bonds, and neither have we created the will of our Creator, nor have we kept His commandments.
By the same token, we bow our contrite and humble hearts to our Creator, and we ask for your fatherly intercession to him: help us, servant of God, so that we do not perish with our iniquities, deliver us from all evil and from all things that are resistant, guide our minds,
and strengthen our heart in the right faith, in it, through your intercession and intercession, we will not be belittled by wounds, nor rebuke, nor pestilence, nor by any wrath from our Creator, but we will live a peaceful life here, and may we be honored to see good things on the lands of the living, glorifying Father and Son and Holy Spirit, One in the Trinity, glorified and worshiped God, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Conspiracy to restore vision and eye treatment
CONSPIRACY TO RESTORE VISION AND TREAT EYE DISEASES
So my eyes would look good, eyelids on eyelids.
Traditional medicine contains many magical ways of how, with the help of a spell, without the use of medicine, you can effectively treat joints. On the night of the full moon, sit by the window so that you can see the moon; if this is not possible and the windows face the other way, go outside, but be sure to look at the full moon. Looking at the full moon, say the words of the spell for treatment
How to improve your vision
The benefits of the modern world, which significantly make our life easier on the one hand, greatly cripple it on the other hand. Nowadays, for many, both work and rest are associated with eye strain. Working on a computer, driving a car, and keeping up with new trends such as 3D television all take their toll on the eyes. Many people do not attach importance to such symptoms as redness of the mucous membrane of the eye, rupture of capillaries in the eye, “sand in the eyes,” pain in the brow ridges. But in vain. If you notice at least two of the above symptoms, then your vision needs your help. In 50% of cases, visual impairment is due to overstrain of the eye muscles and lack of proper hygiene. Meanwhile, there are simple methods, the use of which can significantly reduce eye strain, and with constant training, even stop the decline in visual acuity. Gymnastics You shouldn’t think that eye gymnastics is something from childhood. It can not only strengthen the skin around the eyes and smooth out facial wrinkles, but also relieve tension from the eye muscles. And if you suffer from headaches that often occur when working with a computer, be sure to include a 5-7-minute eye relaxation break in your daily schedule. Moreover, you don’t even have to get up from the table. But it is still advisable to turn away from the computer. So, here are three simple exercises that you need to do at least 2-3 times a day. Close your eyes tightly for 3-5 seconds, then open them sharply. Repeat 8 to 10 times. Keeping your head straight, look first to the right, then to the left. Then look up and down. Do 5 approaches. Close your eyes and rotate them clockwise, then counterclockwise. Do the exercise for about 30 seconds. Eye massage Massage helps to relax not only the muscles of the body, but also the eyes. It helps restore blood circulation and relieve muscle tension. You can perform this procedure right at your desk. Close your eyes, gently massage the apples of your eyes clockwise for a minute, then lightly pat them. Using your fingertips, rub the brow ridges in the direction from the nose to the temples. Then just sit for 2-3 minutes with your eyes closed. Palming (Bates method) In fact, many of us intuitively resort to palming in moments of fatigue. Have you ever put your elbows on the table and covered your eyes with your palms? This is the basic principle of palming - darkening the eyes for a certain time using the palms. When palming, correct posture is very important: a straight line must be maintained between the back of the head, neck and upper body. This is necessary for proper blood circulation and relaxation. So, take a comfortable position, put your elbows on the table, cover your eyes with your palms and try to think about pleasant things. Eyes must be closed. For complete relaxation, they need complete darkness. Before opening your eyes, first look at the light through the gaps between your fingers, and then remove your palms. Palming helps your eyes instantly relax and rest, while you apply a minimum of effort.
Second prayer
Oh, Most Holy Lady and Lady Theotokos!
With fear, faith and love, falling before Your honorable icon, we pray to You: do not turn Your face away from those who come running to You.
Pray, merciful Mother, to Thy Son and our God, the Lord Jesus Christ, to preserve our country peacefully and to keep His holy Church unshakable from unbelief, heresies and schism.
There are no imams of any other help, no imams of other hope, unless You, Most Pure Virgin, are You the all-powerful Helper and Intercessor of Christians.
Deliver all who pray to You with faith from the falls of sin, from the slander of evil people, from all temptations, sorrows, troubles and from vain death.
Grant us the spirit of contrition, humility of heart, purity of thoughts, correction of sinful lives and the remission of sins, so that we all praise Thy greatness with gratitude, we will be worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven,
and there, with all the saints, let us glorify the Most Honorable and Magnificent Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Appeal to Simeon of Verkhoturye
Saint Simeon came from a noble family, but he did not like the life of a nobleman at all, so he decided to go further away and stop somewhere in Siberia. He chose a town in the Verkhoturye region, which was called Merkushin. Here he lived the life of a simple man. In winter he sewed fur coats for people, and in summer he fished. His lifestyle was secretive, so the locals knew little about him. When a cathedral was built in the vicinity of the town, he began to visit it often in order to communicate more with the Lord, but this man did not live a very long life: he lived only to be 30 years old. He was buried not far from the church where he often came to services.
Many years later, a miracle happened: a coffin appeared from underground in that place. When local residents opened it, it turned out that it contained the relics of a righteous man. The saint's relics were transferred to the church. Various prayers began to be often read near them. There are many known cases of healing near the relics of St. Simeon, but the very first miracle was the healing of one woman’s eye disease.
She could not find any means to get rid of the pain in her eyes and finally distinguish light from darkness. One day she dreamed that she came to church for a service and began to pray near the relics of St. Simeon when she heard a voice: “Don’t forget to serve a prayer service.” When the woman woke up, she realized that she could see, although not so well yet. After visiting church and praying to the righteous Simeon, her ability to see returned completely, so today, in front of the image of this righteous man, people ask for healing for various diseases, but eye problems are most often addressed.

According to Alexey Lyubomudrov, a researcher at the Institute of Literary Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Pushkin House), the Church views the icon as a special form of revelation of Divine reality: “In the prayer for the consecration of the icon, God is asked to grant it the grace-filled power of the Holy Spirit “to drive away demons and heal all ailments.”

The VII Ecumenical Council of 787 approved the dogmatic rite of icon veneration. Oros (a dogmatic decree of the Church) states: “The honor given to an icon relates to its prototype, and the one who worships the icon worships the hypostasis of the person depicted on it.” And the icon itself “mysteriously contains within itself the presence of the one whom it depicts, and this presence is the closer, more grace-filled and stronger, the more the icon corresponds to the church canon.”
Each consecrated icon is a bearer of the grace-filled power of the Holy Spirit. With this power, Christ and the apostles cast out demons and healed the sick. The gracious gift of the Holy Spirit was acquired by many great saints. Their images help people from physical and mental ailments.
Many people who are just beginning to come to faith ask the question: why does the Church recommend turning to certain saints in cases of illness? The answer is simple: these saints helped with illnesses before.
As you know, the very first miracle worker of New Testament times was Jesus Christ. The Four Gospels count forty cases of miraculous healings. It is not for nothing that the cross on which the Lord was crucified is called the Life-Giving One. A seriously ill woman was healed by touching the Cross. This is evidenced by the Jerusalem bishop Macarius, Theodoret of Cyrus and Rufinus of Aquileia. When an Orthodox Christian prays to the Honest and Life-giving Cross of the Lord, he asks: “Save me from all evil.”
Petition to the Mother of God
The Mother of God is approached with prayers in various situations. When they ask her for help with her eyes, prayers are offered in front of her image, depicted on the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. This image of her did not arise by chance.
In front of this icon, people have asked the Mother of God for help since ancient times. The history of its appearance is interesting. One day there was a strong fire in Kazan, due to which most of the city turned into ruins. When this happened, the Mother of God appeared to one nine-year-old girl in a dream. This girl, Matrona, came from a simple merchant family. The Virgin Mary appeared to her for a reason. She asked her to find an icon that remained under the ruins of one of the burnt houses.
At first Matrona did not listen to this, but then the image of the Most Pure Mother of God appeared to her again. Then she and her mother went to that place. To their surprise, under the ruins they actually found an icon that was not damaged in any way by the fire. This happened on July 21, so since then this day has become a holiday for Christians.
After some time, a monastery for women was erected at the site of discovery. Later it turned out that the found icon was truly miraculous. There was a procession of the cross, in which many Christians went. Two people suffering from blindness read prayers in front of the icon and again regained the ability to see well. And this is not the only case where people received help for various vision diseases.
A prayer to the Mother of God to improve vision sounds like this:
Prayer for improving the child's vision
Today, many children have problems with their eyes and doctors cannot always help a child improve vision, eliminate pain or cure, for example, strabismus. In such cases, they usually turn to the Virgin Mary. One of the most powerful prayers for eye diseases of the Mother of God sounds like this:
It doesn’t matter which saint you turn to, the most important thing when reading any prayer is sincerity. If you pray with all your heart, then higher powers will definitely hear you and help you in your request to restore your vision. Do not forget to thank for the help provided to you, then you will never be left in trouble.
