Bible, Holy Scripture

What makes the Bible unique?

The worldview of all authors was united by Divine unity, despite the differences:

  • national;
  • age;

The tiniest specimen measures 4.76 mm

If you've ever tried to fit your Bible into an already overfilled bag, you know how difficult it can be. To solve this problem, Jerusalem Nano has developed a tiny chip containing all 27 books of the New Testament, written in the original Greek.

Each printed letter is about 0.18 microns, or 18 millionths of a meter, wide, so you'll need a pretty powerful microscope if you want to read. The overall size of this square “book” is 4.76 mm on each side .

Made from a silicon wafer, the chip is designed to be embedded in jewelry and watches so consumers can carry the sacred text wherever they go.

“Our goal is to be able to mass produce it so that there is a Bible in almost every pocket. Because this smallest Bible in the world can be used in the jewelry industry,” says David Almog of Jerusalem Nano Bible Company.

This is interesting - facts from the Bible

The oldest person, who lived 969 years, is Methuselah (Genesis 5:21-27), who was the son of Enoch. Enoch is one of the few righteous people taken to heaven alive. Enoch left the house and disappeared (Gen. 5:24).

For his betrayal, Judas received an amount equal to a worker’s salary for 4 months. The price of betrayal is always low, as is the action.

The strongest biblical hero is Samson.

The wisest man on earth since the creation of the world remains King Solomon, who, thanks to his wisdom, built the richest kingdom.

The faithful and obedient warrior Gideon defeated 135 thousand Midianites. (Judges 7:16-21)

A man after God's own heart, King David, being a shepherd boy, killed the tallest biblical character with one stone - Goliath, whose height was 3 meters (1 Samuel 17:8-21).

The age of the earth may be millions of years old, but the global flood that destroyed the earth, people, flora and fauna was about 5,000 years ago.

A unique fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

It is believed that there are more than 1,000 prophecies in the Holy Scriptures: about 800 in the Old Testament and more than 200 in the New. But you need to focus not on the number of prophecies, but on the accuracy of their fulfillment. For example, there are 332 Old Testament prophecies that were fulfilled at the First Coming of Christ. And these are not vague predictions, but a clear and precise fulfillment of certain prophetic events, which we will consider in the following topics.

The successes of the Bible look fantastic compared to the background of even the most successful modern seers and soothsayers. The unconditional prophecies of the Bible come true 100%, and with all the described details.

98% of biblical prophecies of the past and present have come true, only the prophecies concerning the Second Coming of Christ remain.

It is estimated that the Holy Scriptures contain many fulfilled prophecies concerning ancient and modern states: Babylon, Rome, Greece, Assyria, Turkey, Egypt, the USA. In particular, such famous cities as Damascus, Jerusalem, Tire and Sidon. As well as individuals: Alexander the Great, Cyrus, Nebuchadnezzar. The exact fulfillment of Bible prophecy confirms a very important point for us: God is unchanging and sticks to His Word. If He fulfilled everything regarding the past, then can we doubt His words regarding the future Second Coming? No – He is true to His words!

For atheists and doubters

Nothing in the Bible goes against science. If you really wish, you can find answers to all the questions underlying modern discoveries in the holy book.

The science of genetics began to develop in the last century, studying chromosomes, refuting the theory of evolution, which asserted the possibility of degeneration from species to species, monkeys into humans, as a final result.

Genesis 1 tells us that God created several types of plants and animals.

Isaac Newton discovered the law of gravity in the 18th century, and Job wrote that the earth hangs “on nothing.” (Job 26:7).

The Italian Torricelli proved in the 17th century that air can be weighed, but Job also claimed the same thing (Job 28:25).

For a long time, people thought that the earth was flat and supported by three pillars, and the prophet Isaiah argued that the Creator reigns over the “circle of the earth” (Is. 40:22).

One of the most important manuscripts of the Gospel of Matthew

A typo that changes everything

Everyone knows that the Bible, to put it mildly, does not approve of adultery, but once it was the other way around. In 1631, one publisher published the Bible with a typo: the negation “not” was omitted, so it turned out “commit adultery .

Only 9 of these Bibles exist today, known as the "Sinner's Bible." It is not surprising that this edition is in great demand among collectors, so you will have to pay a tidy sum for such a copy.

VULGATE

According to Wikipedia

Let's go back in time a few hundred years ago, around the year 382. Pope Damasus asked biblical scholar Jerome to revise previous Latin translations of the Gospels. Jerome went further and provided a Latin translation of almost the entire Bible (with the help of some unknown authors).

The Vulgate became the official biblical text of the Catholic Church for the next thousand years or so. Latin was the common language of the people at the time the translation was made, but few common people were literate. Thus, access to the Vulgate was largely limited to the Catholic clergy. The first English translation of the Bible (below) was based on the Vulgate.
