Ksenia Rykova turned to the Foundation for help: “My situation is really stalemate. I don't know what to do next. In 2021, we began a dark streak in our lives: during my third pregnancy, I had a Rh conflict, my youngest son was born premature. As a result, he could not eat or breathe on his own, intensive care, long recovery. At the same time, my husband’s salary began to be delayed, debts for the apartment, for loans, and to relatives began to accumulate. In 2021, we sold the apartment we lived in, paid off some of the debts, added capital and bought another, larger apartment. There was no money left for repairs and furniture - we had to take out loans. As soon as we began to gradually get out of the hole, pay off loans and make repairs, we became pregnant. Impossible for a number of reasons. Shock and deafening horror. We have loans for almost 700 thousand, which eat up the lion's share of the budget. According to one of them, there is a delay and the bank demands to repay the entire amount at once, but I cannot do this on my own. There is a chance that all my accounts will be frozen and we will be left without any money at all. Repairs in the apartment are needed and urgently needed - it’s cold, the first floor, either mice or rats are coming to us from the basement. The floors are full of holes, holes are constantly being chewed in the walls - we don’t have time to patch them. At home there are no such basic things as a bath, or, for example, a washing machine or a vacuum cleaner. A tiny refrigerator without a freezer - we bought the one we had enough money for. And giving birth to a fourth child here now is simply scary. In conditions when loans and repairs require more than a million, deafening horror covers. The foundation supported me and I continued my pregnancy. But now we simply cannot climb out of this hole on our own. We’ve always done everything ourselves, we’ve never asked for help, but now we frankly can’t cope.”. Total according to the estimate: 56,650 rubles. The collection is open. Collected RUB 23,345.

How to fit three children in one room and give birth to a fourth. Edik and Marina are happy young parents of three children - three-year-old Dima, two-year-old Artem and little Arina. And soon there will be four of them! Their family currently lives with Edik’s parents and his two teenage brothers and sisters in a three-room apartment with an area of 60 sq.m. They live amicably and cheerfully, but with the birth of another daughter they will become a little cramped and need to solve this housing problem. The guys wanted to buy their own home under the “Young Family” program and invest maternity capital there, but the lack of registration in the Stavropol Territory for both of them prevents them from doing this. Marina is registered in the Krasnodar region, where she lived and worked as a cashier in a store, and Edik, as a military man, was registered at the location of the military unit. Before the wedding, he left the service, but was no longer able to register with his parents because he didn’t have enough footage. And you can only receive a subsidy if you have a residence permit. And it turned out to be a vicious circle: in order to get housing you need to get subsidies, in order to get them you need to have a registration, in order to get a registration you need to have housing. Because of the difficult situation and the problems that had piled up, Marina thought about an abortion. Both Edika’s mother and a close family friend, Elena Masalova, began to dissuade them from such a radical decision. “You know, I have one child. If your mother, Edik, had been like me, she would not have given birth to any of you except your older brother. But your mother gave birth to seven children, and you have each other!” - Elena told them, having learned about Marina and Edik’s doubts. With the consent of the guys, Elena called the Life Line program on the Spas channel and told their story. People began to write comments and this encouraged them to continue the pregnancy. But they have many difficulties: they urgently need to pay off debts in the amount of 286,234 rubles. Our foundation is raising money to pay off the debt and rent a separate home for this wonderful family, and soon they will be living in their new home! “We are so happy and grateful! I'd rather move. Finally, we will live on our own!” - Marina rejoices.

They barely have enough money to pay utility bills and repay loans taken out during their husband’s lifetime. The youngest child is still small and, although he goes to kindergarten, he is often sick, because of this Oksana cannot yet go to work. Unfortunately, there is no one to help her and look after the children. A family needs a bathroom renovation they can't afford: the pipes are leaking and the ceiling and wall tiles are falling off.

“S”: Why did you decide to engage in political activity?
— When the foundation was already firmly on its feet, I found out that there was a “Leaders of Russia” competition. At first I didn’t understand why I needed this. Friends persuaded me, but I thought: where am I and where is politics? Then I started thinking: why are those who are trying to ruin Russia so eager to go into politics? And those who want to help the state grow, become stronger, think that this is not about them?
“S”: Who do you mean when you talk about those who are trying to ruin the country?
- Those who oppose family values. Promotes abortion. They don’t think at all about what they should do in politics, but go there very purposefully. I decided that I should try my hand.
“S”: Why will you run for the Lower House of Parliament from Mordovia, and not from your native Volgograd?
— Mordovia is one of the most difficult regions in terms of demographics. It has one of the lowest birth rates in the country. We need to change the situation. Therefore, I thought that I could be useful to the republic, having the tools I had developed over the years. I didn’t want to go to a region where there was no problem. Otherwise, all activity would turn into profanation.
“S”: Is there no risk that if you are successfully elected to the State Duma, you will get bogged down in bills and be caught up in parliamentary routine? And will this negatively impact your social initiatives?
- Another question - who will capture whom! (Laughs - “S.”) Definitely not. This is the next stage. On the contrary, I will be able to lobby for the mechanisms that I myself have come up with. I know how to help people. So why not change the very essence of the approach to the problem? If it hasn’t been solved yet, then it means it was solved incorrectly. This is why public organizations exist, to offer their already tested mechanisms. A possible election to the State Duma, on the contrary, will strengthen existing developments, and there will be not 50 babies per month, but, for example, 500 or more!
“S”: Are you not afraid of the prospect that local residents will not vote for you precisely because you lack any connection with Mordovia, which is an important factor for national regions?
- Not afraid. Everything I do is the path of a fearless warrior. This problem does not have a characteristic feature. It cannot be said that it exists only in Mordovia, because there are some different people here. This is characteristic of the entire society. Unfortunately, abortion is on everyone's mind. I came to Mordovia to help. Of course, I can’t be sure that they will stand behind me. But I say as openly as possible that I came to help, and not to sit and shift papers from one pile to another. I don’t understand why go into politics just to be a politician. I go there against all odds, dealing with a topic that is taboo in our country.

“S”: What will the so-called Multifunctional Center for Family, which is planned to open in Mordovia, represent?
— He will help comprehensively. Before the baby is born and after. Placement in a kindergarten. Transitional adolescence. Career guidance. Working on maternity leave. Divorce. Leisure for older people. Alcoholism. Drug addiction... Family is a living organism. Everyone should be in the family. People should not think about where to go to earn money. Otherwise, there is a risk that a second family will appear in another region. And the family hearth is under threat. All possible challenges must be resolved. This is a very long and large-scale project. I would like it to grow to the federal level.
“S”: Have you encountered domestic violence in your practice?
- I have encountered and continue to encounter. This is a very big problem for our country. There is a lot of domestic violence. The family is often not a value and is destroyed from the inside. People don't stick together. Women are afraid to talk about what is happening. Men manipulate them. I recently met a man whose wife had an abortion. He was very worried about this. I thought this was strange. I contacted his wife, who told about beatings at home and a broken finger. She was forced to get rid of the child. These problems, like nesting dolls, are inserted into each other. You cannot focus only on abortion, only on violence, or complain about the fact that someone does not give birth at all. You need to look at the family as a whole and create comfortable conditions for it. Then there will be less domestic violence.
“S”: Why, in your opinion, do Russian families, famous for having many children, begin to have fewer children?
— The breakdown occurred as a result of the revolution of 1917, when the Bolsheviks said that there is no God and exterminated the entire intelligentsia. Thus, our mentality was changed.
“S”: How to help victims of domestic violence in time?
— First of all, we need prevention. It's too late to do anything when you're already being beaten. Moreover, our police do not react until they actually start killing. Therefore, this issue should be addressed “before”, so that the woman knows the “points” that show that what is happening is domestic violence. Prevention of psychological abuse is needed. Many people don’t understand that this is already violence, and not just when they raise a hand against you.
