Prayers, commandments and Creed with explanation

Among the prayers, there are special amulets that help protect family, relatives and friends from curses and negativity. One of these amulet prayers is “Seven Crosses” for the whole family. Any words are endowed with subtle energy, when read, an energy field is formed that can serve as a reliable shield from negative influences.

The Meaning and Power of Prayer

This prayer has a complex, sometimes even terrible history. The life-giving Cross to which we turn is the same one on which the Savior died. In the Orthodox tradition, people turn to him with a request to protect him from the evil eye, damage, illness, dangers and other troubles.

There is a legend that in the 4th century, King Constantine decided to erect a temple on the land of Christ, having found the cross on which he was crucified. But no one living could indicate its exact location. And after a long search, the king finally found an old Jew who was able to indicate the right place. But in the cave he indicated, three crosses were found at once, and which of them became the cause of Jesus’ torment was unknown. And then the Savior himself suggested how to find the necessary structure: they brought it to the sick man, and he was healed.

Since then, Christians have believed that a piece of the great divine power of Jesus remained in the Cross forever, therefore, by sincerely saying the words of prayer, we receive powerful protection and assistance from heaven. The main secret is to pray sincerely and fervently, offering words to the Lord with a pure soul.

Prayer to the Life-Giving Cross is not only eternal gratitude and recognition to the Lord for his mercy, it reflects the true meaning of human life, healing the physical body and pacifying mental suffering. She, as the greatest grace, revives the faith given to humanity.

Psalm 45

God is our Refuge and Strength, our Helper in the sorrows that have come upon us greatly. For this reason let us not be afraid, for the earth is always troubled and the mountains are given into the hearts of the sea. They made noise and trembled their waters, they trembled the mountains with His strength. The river's aspirations rejoice the city of God: the Most High has sanctified His village. God is in his midst, and does not move: God will help him in the morning. The pagans are in turmoil, and you will stray from the kingdom: let your voice from the Most High be heard, and the earth will move. The Lord of hosts is with us, our Advocate is God Jacob.

Come and see the works of God, even He placed miracles on the earth: taking away the battle to the end of the earth, the bow will crush and break the weapons, and the shields will burn with fire. Be abolished and understand that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted to the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us, our Advocate is God Jacob.

When to say a prayer

Many believers do not know in what cases the miraculous prayer to the cross is read. It must be read, making the sign of the cross, in the following cases:

  • in difficult life situations, when it seems that life is hanging by a thread;
  • in case of any danger - visible or invisible;
  • before a difficult and dangerous task or journey;
  • during times of despondency, sadness and thoughts of death;
  • during devilish temptations and sinful thoughts;
  • to gain courage while participating in hostilities;
  • to gain mental and physical grace.

The gospel says that the devil prowls like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. This does not need to be taken literally and imagine the devil in the form of a lion. What is meant here is that the evil one is constantly looking for a spiritual sacrifice for himself - he inclines him to temptations, sins and impurity. He acts through a person's thoughts.

How many times in a row should you read the prayer to the cross? You can read it once, three times, or as much as your heart desires. Nowadays, it is customary to listen to this prayer 40 times in a row, for this you can turn on the audio recording.

Is it possible to read a prayer to an unbaptized person? It is possible, but still necessary to be baptized in the Orthodox Church. Because what is the point of praying to the life-giving cross if a person has not accepted the Sacrament of baptism?

The power of prayer is so great that it has more than once saved the lives of believers. It was pronounced in tragic and difficult life situations, during epidemics and wars, fires and floods.

Previously, with the help of prayer to the cross, demons were cast out and people were freed from the wiles of the evil one. She saves from damage and the evil eye, witchcraft obsessions and troubles. Through prayer, a person approaches God and comes under his protection.

“May God rise again” prayer: text in Russian

Short version

Even a short version of the prayer to the Life-giving Cross of the Lord has incredible power and provides powerful protection to the Almighty in various cases. Christians sincerely believe in its power and for many centuries they have been praying to the Cross on which the Creator suffered in order to protect their family from any misfortunes. Prayer also allows you to commune with the Lord, feel his presence, and gain peace of mind and happiness.

The power of a prayer directly depends on the person saying it. This is because the request must come from a pure heart and soul. This prayer is often resorted to to drive out corruption by cleansing the soul. Usually in such cases, when coming to church, they light a candle to the icon of the Lord, say the words of prayer three times, Psalm 90 and “The most honorable cherub.”

Full version in Old Church Slavonic

This Orthodox prayer is not only recognition to the Almighty for his deeds, it contains the whole essence of the world and the purpose of man. Words spoken sincerely and with faith heal the physical body and help to pacify the spiritual.

Over all time, many cases of manifestation of the Life-Giving of the Cross have been known: from the healing of people from serious illnesses to the resurrection of the dead. The Cross also helped to defeat enemies and get rid of demons.

With the help of the cross, all church sacraments were performed and are performed to this day:

  • water, all elements, believers are sanctified;
  • Orthodox Christians wear a cross on their chest;
  • the cross marks the Church even after death during funeral hymns;
  • the cross is placed on the grave of deceased Orthodox people (except for suicides and apostates).

...On behalf of those who love God...

There is a contrast here: on the one hand, “those who hate Him,” who “let them flee,” “disappear,” and “perish,” and on the other, “those who love God.” Who are these lovers? In theory, we are, judging by the criteria “signed with the sign of the cross” and “saying in joy...”, and further in the text. Well, yes, we sign ourselves, carefully folding our fingers, and we also speak not in some defiled everyday language, but in sacred Church Slavonic... So what?

If our love comes down to “sign” and “verb,” then it is appropriate to remember and shudder: Not everyone who says to Me: “Lord! Lord!” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Heavenly Father. Many will say to Me on that day: Lord! God! Have we not prophesied in Your name? and was it not in Your name that they cast out demons? and did they not perform many miracles in Your name? And then I will declare to them: I never knew you; Depart from me, you workers of iniquity

(Matt. 7:21–23). And they “signed” and “spoke”, and even performed miracles in His name, but it turns out that He “never knew” them.

The conjunction “and” does not at all say that what precedes it follows from what follows, i.e. from the fact that a person “signs” and “verbs,” it follows that he is a “lover of God.” Not at all necessary. Of course, making the sign of the cross and turning to God in prayer should be motivated by love and testify to it. Yes, they must be in a cause-and-effect relationship, because prayer and ritual are external things that should follow the internal and, in turn, are intended to serve its strengthening and development, for “form protects the spirit,” but this is not always the case, it should be.

Oddly enough, however, I came across such a position that love for God is expressed precisely in statutory piety: in the unforgettable fulfillment of the prayer rule, in regular attendance at divine services, in strict observance of fasts, and only after mastering all this can one begin to “practice” love to your neighbor. An example is given of Zacchaeus, who supposedly first loved Christ, climbing a tree and joyfully receiving Him in his house, and only then loved his neighbor, desiring to give half of his property to the poor, and if he offended anyone, then repay him fourfold (Luke 19). : 1–10). And it would be good if these were spoken by illiterate people who did not hold the Holy Scriptures in their hands, but no! Adherents of the above-described falsification of Christianity can also be certified, or even “graduated” graduates of theological and theological educational institutions. The problem here is not stupidity or lack of information. This is a moral choice.

After all, the Apostle John the Theologian explains quite unequivocally: He who says: “I love God,” but hates his brother, is a liar: for he who does not love his brother whom he sees, how can he love God whom he does not see?

(1 John 4:20).
And the Gospel says much more simply about love for God: He who has My commandments and keeps them, he who loves Me...
<...> ...
He who loves Me will keep My word... He who does not love Me does not keep My words
(John 14: 21–24). It would seem that what is there to be clever about? But after all...

So in fact (and not for the sake of deceiving) demons disappear like smoke from the prayer and sign of the cross of those who unfeignedly love God, i.e. lives according to His commandments. He does not act on them from time to time, depending on how favorable the circumstances are, but he lives

by them, or better said –
by them
