Animals are the closest creatures to people from all over the created world. The Lord directly protects and takes care of all people, and he also does not leave our little brothers without his care. Holy Scripture says that all creatures are under the care and protection of the Creator: “Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, and Your destinies are like a great abyss! You protect men and animals, O Lord!” (Ps. 35:7).

Animals have accompanied man for many thousands of years and helped him in various life situations. Thanks to animals, people cultivated the land, used them as transport, and used them as food.

Throughout their lives, animals, just like people, get sick, and if this happens, then they also need your help. Sometimes the help of a veterinarian may not be enough, and then in this case it is worth turning to the Lord for help.

The Savior does not forget about the little bird, he feeds them: “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns; and your Father in heaven feeds them. Aren't you much better than them? (Matt. 6:26). According to the law of God, which he gave to Israel, both people and animals were protected, and Sabbath rest was also provided for them: “Six years you shall sow your land and gather its produce, and in the seventh you shall leave it alone, so that the poor of your people may eat, and with the remains after them the beasts of the field ate. Six days shalt thou do thy work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest, that thy ox and thy donkey may rest, and that the son of thy servant and the stranger may rest” (Ex. 23:10-12). The Holy Scripture says: “The righteous is concerned for the life of his livestock, but the heart of the wicked is hard” (Prov. 12:10).”

The care of some saints for animals is known from their life stories: Gerasim of Jordan about the lion, Sergius of Radonezh and Seraphim of Sarov about bears, and there are many such examples.

Our pets do not have the likeness of the Lord, for this reason we cannot pray for their pardon and salvation, but we can ask Him for them, and first of all for those who help in the household.

You can pray for animals to different Saints, the main thing is to do it from the heart.

Prayer for the blessing of the flock

The cow has long been called the “Nurse”. No matter how difficult life was, hunger was raging and there was a lean year, the family survived if there was a cow in the yard. Children and adults fed on her milk. Similar to a goat, it produces little milk, but it is fatty and healthy. The animal itself feeds on grass in the field and hay in winter. The chicken only needs a little grain, and in the summer she will get the rest herself. At the same time, she lays eggs every day. For the winter, some of the poultry is slaughtered and meat is kept in the house.

People have long raised sheep and pigs for meat. Wool sheared from sheep was used to make warm clothing, as were rabbit skins. The life of the peasant and farmer largely depends on the condition of the herd and its quantity. When livestock falls ill and there is a desire to have a good offspring, a prayer is read for the health of the animal, successful lambing and the addition of a large number of young animals, strong and healthy.

A prayer for the blessing of the flock is read to the Lord God. It is said when having domestic animals, during the breeding of livestock, and in case of illness. Before saying “Sovereign Lord our God...”, you should turn off all devices that make loud sounds, stand in front of the icon, and light a candle. The prayer text can be said directly in the barn. Then the icon and candle should be installed in a safe place where animals cannot reach and knock them down.

For the safety of the wards, a prayer for the blessing of the herd is read in the barn, imagining an icon with the image of the Lord or in the morning, when the animals were taken out to pasture. You need to stand to the east, towards the rising sun, and read the prayer text three times.

Prayer to Saint Blaise

During his lifetime, Vlasiy patronized animals, treated them and tamed them. He lived at the very beginning of the century, in the 200s. For selfless service to people, healing them from illnesses and various assistance, the inhabitants of Sebastia elected Blasius with his loving heart and kind disposition as bishop. Soon the Romans appeared. They persecuted Christians and killed everyone who did not convert to their faith, did not make sacrifices to the pagan gods.

Blasius fled the city and lived with secret supporters of the Christian faith. It was at this time that the miraculous abilities of the Bishop of Sebaste manifested themselves. He healed those with whom he shared shelter, nursed dying animals, looked after livestock, and he began to bring more benefits.

The Romans managed to track down and capture Blasius. They tortured him and demanded that he renounce Christ. Having achieved nothing, they executed the great martyr.

Saint Blaise, who helped people during his lifetime and cared for the lesser brothers, is prayed to in the following cases:

  • if cattle or wild boars are sick;
  • the sow has a difficult farrow and they want the sow to remain alive and the piglets to be born healthy;
  • for illnesses of small domestic animals and poultry;
  • to strengthen weak livestock;
  • if necessary, arrive in the herd.

The prayer to Saint Blaise of Sebaste is read at home, in the holy corner, with a lit candle. It is necessary to turn off phones, TV and other devices. Ask household members not to make noise. Then retire to the room, read a prayer of gratitude to the Lord, then turn to Blasius. You should read the prayer and kontakion.

Lyrics

People turn to the saint for help with canonical prayers and simple words, reading folk texts.

The godly star, in the darkness of unbelief, as if shining in the night and enlightening the souls of all who want to be saved, seeing you, Agricolaus, the hegemon, did not want to understand, betrayed you to suffer for Christ and commanded to beat you much and mercilessly with clubs. But you, Hieromartyr Blasie, pacifying the rage of the tormentor, sang to God: Alleluia.

New torments, worse than the first, are sought by the all-evil tormentor, always bringing you back from prison to the judgment, glorious martyr, although you have to test whether you made a sacrifice to God, or whether you wanted to perish evilly. You have rejected this wickedness and you have strengthened yourself with the power of God: even so, neither beating nor wound, nor the hanging on a tree and the planing of your body, in which you were tormented, in no way able to defeat your glorious patience. You said to the tormentor: “Gods who did not create heaven and earth, let them perish. I am not afraid of your temporary torments, for I look to the good things to come, prepared for those who love God.” For this reason we sing to you, the valiant warrior of Christ:

Prayers

First prayer

Oh, long-suffering father, great servant of God, holy martyr Blasie. Hear us sinners who come running to you and pray to you warmly. A storm of many evils, troubles and sorrows will overwhelm us, mental and physical illnesses and all sorts of attacks from the enemy will overwhelm us. We are negligent about our salvation; we are less worthy, because of our sin, to ask the Lord for help. But you, good shepherd, had great boldness from the merciful God, as sometimes you were led to your torment, the tearful widows who came to you, did not reject you, otherwise you freed the beast from the misfortune, and you asked the Lord for healing of another youth. So now, look upon your children at this hour, who have come to you, asking for consolation and help. You have begged the Lord, if any illness or misfortune happens to someone, and that person will remember your name - to help everyone in glorifying His Most Holy Name. Do not reject us who pray to you, but as you promised, fulfill all our requests for good, by the mercy of the All-Good God, to Him be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Do not leave anyone in trouble, protect homes from any evil, and livestock from pestilence and theft. God's servants turn to you with sincere requests. We repent of all our sins, committed voluntarily and involuntarily. Pray to the Lord for the cleansing of our souls and reward our enemies according to their deserts. Amen.

Blaise is a saint who is revered equally by Catholics and Orthodox Christians. The fame of the martyr spread after his death to the East and West. People turn to the saint with prayers for children, asking for healing of the sick and protection for pets.

Prayer for the cat's recovery

An affectionate pet, the cat has a long and interesting history of its development. The first images of these animals were found by archaeologists during excavations. They were kept at temples and considered sacred. Cats saved property, especially food, from destruction by rats.

For a long time, only priests could acquire small tailed predators. The peasants suffered from an invasion of rodents, were often left without crops and went to the temple servants to borrow grain for sowing. The priests profited from this.

Gradually, having tamed wild animals and obtained kittens from the temple, farmers and artisans started cats in their homes. They destroyed rats and mice, carriers of poverty and disease. For many centuries, cats lived in villages and cities, bringing great benefits to people. Thanks to them, the grain lay in the barn, the skins processed for sewing clothes and shoes remained intact.

Nowadays, homeless animals clear basements and garbage dumps of rodents, preventing them from breeding.

Now rats are poisoned with various chemicals. The need for cats in houses and apartments has disappeared. They have turned into pets that provide more entertainment to people, especially children. But a person must be responsible for those he has tamed.

When a cat gets sick, the whole family worries about it, especially children. The animal must be taken to the veterinarian immediately. While in line, it is recommended to whisper a prayer for the health of the animal.

How to reduce heart rate with tachycardia

The most dangerous manifestation of arrhythmia is tachycardia, a disease of modern people. In most cases, the disease is due to the fact that the current generation lives at a crazy pace. People do not have enough time to cope with their workloads at home and at work. They are constantly accompanied by emotional stress. The stress hormone is released. Distant ancestors also had it, but for them it arose during an attack by an animal or another tribe. The person responded with some action, and the tension was released naturally. Unlike modern times, when the release of the hormone is not discharged, it attacks the heart first.

Arrhythmia gradually develops. Isolated cases of increased heart rate are a reaction to fatigue, lack of sleep, etc. When the symptoms become permanent, then the help of a doctor is needed. For any arrhythmias, thyroid function is checked. Sometimes a pulse disturbance begins against the background of a pulse failure. An unstable rhythm is often a companion to diabetes.

Prayer to Saint Blaise for the health of cats

A cat doesn't just live in a person's house. She feels the energy in the house, the mood and state of each family member. Some people claim that an animal can bring disease from the street. Experts have proven that cat diseases do not affect humans. Only certain types of scabies mites can live in human skin. But this happens if you don’t take care of the cat at all and let him walk around the garbage bins hungry for days.

Cats sense black energy. They can take it upon themselves and carry it away. There are cases when cats protected people and livestock from damage. They took all the negativity upon themselves and the sick and weak disappeared for several days. They returned healthy and playful. People thought that they were going into the forest to heal with herbs. In fact, they get rid of negativity in nature and come home.

Prayer to Saint Blaise will help quickly cure a cat if it is sick.

Prayer to Saints Florus and Laurus

At a time when the horse was the main assistant in the household, carried the goods of merchants and the products of artisans, and was the main transport for everyone, Flor and Laurus lived. They helped people get rid of diseases and also treated horses. Before the advent of cars and steam locomotives, there was a tradition in Rus' to bring animals to the church for a horse festival. Prayers were read in the temple for the health of animals. The horses were then sprinkled with holy water.

After this, the animals did not get sick, were playful and gave birth to healthy calves. There were more cases of twin births among consecrated horses. After the death of the great martyrs, a prayer to Florus and Laurus is read in churches on the day of their memory. People bring their horses to the temple and the priest sprinkles them with holy water.

We prayed to Saints Florus and Laurus and for the health of the dog. This animal helped herd herds, hunt, and guarded the house.

Do animals have souls?

Many theologians have tried to find answers to this question. But since living beings are not created in the Image and Likeness of God, like humans, prayers are not read about animals, like about people. Monuments are not erected for dead animals, crypts are not built, and funerals are not held, since it is believed that the soul of cats, dogs, snakes and others is alive as long as the body works.

However, animals are sent to man for a reason. If animals suffer, loving owners should pray and do everything possible to heal their Murzik or Sharik. Both prayers and seeking veterinary help help with this.

According to many saints, such as John of Kronstadt, Sergius of Radonezh, we need animals as lessons of kindness and love sent by nature itself. Taking care of them, people become more humane, softer, beginning to observe the Christian laws of virtue.

Prayer to Nicholas the Wonderworker

Saint Nicholas the Pleasant helped people a lot during his lifetime. He also treated livestock, since without domestic animals a person cannot live a full, happy life. They pray to him, first of all, for the blessing of the herd, when they start and breed it to generate income, and create a business. Nicholas the Wonderworker helps in the search for an animal that has strayed from the herd, a missing cat and a dog.

When a cat or dog disappears from home, everyone worries, especially children. The prayer to Nicholas the Wonderworker for the return of the animal home is strong and effective. It should be read in front of the icon of the saint. Words don't matter. You can compose the text yourself, in Russian, the main thing is that the words are pronounced with love for the animal and faith that, thanks to Nikolai Ugodnik, the pet will be found quickly and in good health.

Before the prayer for the missing animal is read, you can perform a ceremony for its return. Place some of his favorite food in his cat's or dog's bowl. Place a lit candle nearby. In your own words, turn to the animal three times with a request to be found, to return. Turn around and leave this room.

Before the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, read the “Our Father” and a prayer for the return of the animal. Saint Nicholas will pray for your peace of mind and for the return of your pet to God. The cat and dog will be found quickly.

The meaning of the martyr in Orthodoxy

Orthodox Christians honor the great feat of the saint, who did not renounce his faith in Christ and accepted martyrdom. Blasius was glorified as a holy martyr. The saint spent his entire life helping people and practicing healing. Wild animals came to him, which Blasius treated and blessed. These concerns about all earthly creatures were reflected in the nature of the worship of the saint in Russia.

Blasius is revered as an assistant for throat diseases, remembering how the saint going to trial helped a boy who was choking. The belief in the help of Blasius developed and strengthened in the 6th century in Byzantium, from where it spread throughout the Christian world. Prince Vladimir revered the saint; a church in his honor began to be built soon after the baptism of Rus' in Podol. Subsequently, churches glorifying the feat of the holy martyr appeared in many cities and towns.

Information: in peasant Russia, Saint Blaise was especially revered; he was considered the protector and patron of livestock.

Prayer to the Lord for the salvation and health of animals

The Lord takes care of all living things on earth, including the smallest bird. This is confirmed by the story of the ark and the indication that one should work for 6 days, and devote the seventh to God. Animals and birds rest at this time.

When animals are sick, you can turn directly to God and your prayer will be heard. Also, they turn to the Lord if a pet is missing and is in danger on the street. The Almighty is asked to protect the pet from meeting unkind people, so that it is not attacked by wild animals or hit by a car.

The prayer will be heard faster if the owner of the animal first repents and cleanses his soul. After all, the words of prayer go through him and the sinless animal is his pet, for which he is responsible.

What prayer should I say for my dog to get well?

For many owners, a pet becomes a full-fledged member of the family. Caring dog owners invest a lot of effort and money in their pet’s health, development and leisure. Men and women happily buy new toys and treats for their pets, give them care and love, and spend all their free time together. Any disease that appears in a pet can significantly upset the life of the owner.

In this case, the dog can literally fade away before our eyes, suffer from pain, stop eating and playing. Of course, in such a situation, any person will want to help the animal and influence a speedy recovery. You can make treatment easier and heal your puppy using various prayers. Sometimes sacred texts can create real magic and miracles that are simply impossible to believe.

Funeral prayers for animals

Animals do not have free will, but they do have souls. No matter what an animal or bird does, they are not responsible for their actions and are considered sinless. You cannot hold a funeral service for a deceased pet in church. This is done at home.

The last prayer for a deceased animal is read in a calm atmosphere. Only their own people gather. They remember incidents from life and ask him to take care of his soul in heaven. You should pray to the patron of this type of animal. If you don’t know which saint takes care of a given type of animal, you can turn to St. Blaise or St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

WE RECOMMEND: Strong prayers to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

Animals always lived next to people, helped with the housework, fed and clothed them. And now farmers raise livestock for milk and meat, wool and hides. The well-being of the entrepreneur and his family depends on the health of the livestock and the number of offspring.

Cats and dogs continue to serve people faithfully. They protect, entertain, destroy rodents and simply decorate life and make children kinder. In the temple you cannot read prayers for animals or leave notes about their health and peace. All ceremonies can be carried out at home, clearly delineating what you can pray for and understanding that animals are sinless.

Animals can be allowed into the temple if necessary

If a prayer for a sick animal is, at the very least, accepted by the majority of people who call themselves Orthodox, then not everyone accepts animals in the church.

Those who vehemently oppose this demonstrate complete ignorance of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

There are Old Testament laws that some animals can be unclean.

This is a purely gastronomic ban. It is connected with the fact that side by side with the Jews lived people of other faiths (worshipers of Baal, Astarte, etc.), who had sacred animals.

Eating such animals for food was something akin to communion, and therefore there was a religious ban on the meat of these animals. The Bible says nothing else.

Jesus Christ completely rejected the restrictions of the Old Testament, and therefore the idea that there are “unclean” animals that defile something with their presence is nonsense.

“What God has purified, you do not consider unclean.”

(Acts 11:9)

“The righteous also cares for the life of his livestock”

(Prov. 12:10)

This is what the Bible really says about animals in human life. Therefore, you should not pay attention to ostentatious hysteria, which has nothing to do with Orthodoxy. There is no such thing as a dog not being allowed into a church. This is superstition. There are no unclean animals, this is also a superstition.

Another question is, what exactly is the animal doing in the temple?

There are instructions that animals can only be allowed inside if necessary (usually illustrated with a freezing horse).

But everyone has the right to determine for themselves when it is necessary. If an animal dies of hunger and freezes in the street, then what is the piety of not letting it in? Lose your life in order to “save” the walls?

We must not forget that Orthodoxy is how a person acts in the world, and not what is in his church.

Bans on animals visiting temples arose due to religious disagreements (sacred animals of some traditions were not allowed into the religious buildings of others). In cultures like Buddhism, where there were no such problems, animals freely visit shrines. Photo: f3.mylove.ru

Helping animals is a good, Christian thing. And if a nursery at a church is able to save 30 lives according to God’s commandment, and a prayer service for animals draws people’s attention to the problems of stray dogs and cats, then these are Christian deeds.

A cat in the temple can be useful - catch mice. Another thing is that a temple is a building with a clear function for people, and animals do not need it unless necessary. But within the framework of prayer for animals, everything fits into what God commanded us.

We ourselves once called these animals domestic, and now our task is to provide them with a home. And who should be the first to open the door and set an example for others, if not the House of God?
