Icon of the Mother of God “Healer”. Powerful Prayers

Life and health are the main wealth of a person given to him. But physical or mental illnesses often overcome people. To get rid of ailments or ease the course of serious illnesses, you can offer prayers to the Mother of God “Healer”. As a rule, women turn to her; it is not for nothing that she is considered a female protector and assistant. She is asked about health during pregnancy, about the health and protection of children and other family members, about alleviating suffering from incurable or severe long-term illnesses.

History of the icon

The first information about the “Healer” icon was recorded in the 4th century, during the life of Equal-to-the-Apostles Nina, the enlightener, in Georgia. The image was located in the area of Kartolinia, in the Tsilkan temple. It depicts the Virgin Mary bending over the bed of a sick cleric. The appearance of this image was preceded by the events described by Dmitry Rostovsky in his writings “Irrigated Fleece”. The saint in turn refers to the book of Peter Damian.

In the Nivirna church, a cleric fell seriously ill. He did not have the strength to get out of bed and take part in the general prayer. He was a true Christian and trusted in God’s help, turning to him through the Mother of God.

Every hour, when the clock struck, the sick man gave praise to the Mother of God with a short greeting, “Hail, Full of Grace.” The cleric prayed around the clock, without interruption. If he fell asleep, the chime of the clock would wake him and he would say his angelic greeting and then add a short prayer.

One day, the Mother of God appeared to a cleric already preparing for death. She slightly opened her nipple and sprinkled the patient’s mouth with a few drops of milk. After that she disappeared, disappearing into thin air.

The sick man jumped up, quickly dressed and hurried to the church for the morning service. He took his place in the choir, healthy and cheerful, as if there was no serious illness. Amazed by his recovery, those present in the temple began to inquire about his miraculous healing. Then the cleric told about the appearance of the Mother of God to him, and how she brought him back to life in an instant. No one doubted the miracle that had occurred. Everyone knew about the patient’s hourly prayer and his deep faith in God. In confirmation, those around them saw the remains of milk on the monk’s lips.

The Mother of God could heal the cleric in different ways; all she had to do was simply touch him. But she chose to sprinkle him with her own milk. The prayer of the Mother of God was not only heard. For loyalty and devotion, the Christian was rewarded with instant deliverance from his illness and a demonstration that the Mother of God considers all people to be her children and takes care of everyone.

It is the healing of the cleric, who hourly prays and glorifies the Mother of God, that is depicted on the “Healer” icon.

People constantly turn to the Most Holy Theotokos for help. In Russia, only at the end of the 18th century a copy of the icon “Our Lady of Healer” appeared in the Moscow Alekseevsky Convent.

The historian and researcher I Tokmakov described this image in his book in 1889. He pointed out that the icon was small, only 7 inches (31 by 26.7 cm). It is placed in a fold of gold and silver with enamel decoration. Its doors depict the archangels Michael and Gabriel supporting the board. They wear a robe made of precious stones. The Mother of God's clothing is entirely made of pearls.

In the name of icons of the Healer in Rus', churches at large hospitals were consecrated so that any Christian could turn to her for recovery. Prayer before the icon of the Mother of God works miracles. Many seriously ill people became healthy and returned to a full active life.

Prayer

The prayer does not have to be read from the Prayer Book. Long text is difficult to learn and comprehend. You can contact the Healer in your own words, coming from the heart. You should follow the rules for composing prayers, glorify and thank the Mother of God.

RECOMMENDED: Prayers to help you get pregnant.

Prayer to Nicholas the Wonderworker for recovery (husband, mother, father, daughter)

Saint Nicholas healed many people from terrible illnesses with the help of prayer during his lifetime. He believed that with God in your heart you can overcome any adversity in life and be cured of the most terrible diseases. A person who prays creates special divine protection around himself, and no external forces can harm him.

Unfortunately, many people, only after getting sick, understand that losing their health is the worst thing that can happen in life. But true faith and religiosity will help correct the situation and will contribute to the healing of not only the soul, but also the body.

A prayer to Nicholas the Wonderworker for the recovery of a loved one should begin with an arbitrary appeal to the Saint. He should be thanked for giving hope for healing.

In addition, you need to follow other rules; before praying you need to:

  • Cleanse yourself from sinful and dissolute thoughts;
  • Ask for forgiveness for your sins committed through thoughtlessness.

After this, you can turn to Nicholas the Wonderworker with a prayer for recovery. You should definitely pray in front of the icon of the Saint. Every believer's home should have a red corner in which three obligatory icons should be installed: the Savior, the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The text of the prayer is as follows:

“Oh, All-Holy Wonderworker Nicholas, saint of the Lord! You are the Intercessor of all those who mourn and those in need of Your help. I ask for help for my close relatives. Beg, Saint Nicholas, Almighty and All-Merciful God to forgive all their sins, known and unknown. Deliver them from bodily pain and grant them healing. Do not let them stray from the true path and give them hope in the Kingdom of Heaven. And I will pray and glorify all Your deeds on earth and in heaven. Amen".

We advise you to study Prayers for headaches

Next, you should turn to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker with simple prayer words. To do this, you must perform ritual actions. You should retire to a separate room, place an icon of St. Nicholas in front of you, light a church candle and a container of holy water. You should sit in silence for some time, thinking only about the person for whose healing you will pray. Afterwards, looking at the icon, you need to read the well-known prayer “Our Father” three times.

And then you should turn to Nikolai Ugodnik with these words:

“Oh Saint Nicholas, Wonderworker and Pleasant of God! I ask you to heal my loved one (you need to name who he is to you). Help him recover and recover. Be merciful to me and do not be angry for such a personal request. Amen".

Such a prayer appeal needs to be said once, but you should put your whole soul into it. Healing prayers were used in ancient times. There are many stories about their miraculous powers.

But it is important not to doubt that St. Nicholas the Wonderworker will definitely hear your prayer

Icon of the Mother of God HEALER"

October 1 (September 18, old style)

_____________________________________________________

Description of the icon of the Mother of God the Healer: The history of painting the icon of the Mother of God the Healer is connected with a miraculous event that occurred in Moscow at the end of the 18th century. One of the clergy, Vikenty Bulveninsky, had the pious habit of kneeling before the image of the Most Holy Theotokos when entering and leaving the church and saying a short prayer: “Rejoice, full of grace! The Lord is with you! Blessed is the womb that bore Christ, and the breasts that nourished the Lord God, our Savior!”

And then one day Vincent became seriously ill: his tongue turned black, and terrible pain drove him to unconsciousness. Once, having come to his senses after another attack of pain, he read his usual prayer to the Mother of God and immediately saw an angel at his head, who together with him began to offer prayers to the Mother of God, asking Her to heal the sick man. At the end of the angel’s prayer, the Mother of God herself appeared in an unusual light and healed the sick man.

Feeling completely healthy, Vincent got out of bed and went to church. Standing on the choir, he began to sing with everyone, which brought those around him to great amazement. This miracle was the reason for painting the icon of the Mother of God “Healer”, which soon became an invariable decoration of hospital churches and chapels.
