The history of the appearance of the icon “Pantanassa”, or “The Queen of All”
The image of the Virgin Mary “The All-Tsarina” belongs to the iconographic type “Panahranta”, which translated from Greek means “Most Immaculate”, “Most Pure”. Another name for this type of icon is “All-Merciful.” The characteristic features of the writing of the Virgin Mary are as follows:

- in the background are two angels.
This type of iconography has been known since ancient times. History tells of the Trigilian monastery, founded in 780. Now this is the territory of Turkey, but the ruins of the temple have preserved the remains of the image of the face of the Mother of God “All-Tsarina”. The Virgin Mary is depicted in red robes, seated on the royal throne. On the left hand sits the baby Jesus Christ, who holds a scroll with the Gospel and teaches a blessing. The Mother of God points to the Son of God as the Savior of the world.
The world fame of the miraculous icon contributed to its bringing to Russia in 1995. Since then, more than 40 parishes have been opened throughout the country in the name of the icon of the Mother of God “All-Tsarina”.
