The personality of Matrona of Moscow is reminiscent of another, no less famous fortuneteller - Vanga. Both soothsayers were blind and both made fairly accurate predictions of the future. However, there are also many differences in the biographies of Vanga and Matrona, for example, the latter was persecuted by the authorities for a long time, and her representatives came to Vanga for advice.

The people remembered the prophecies of Matrona of Moscow, which had already come true. There are many of them, and that is why her vision of the future has gained such trust among the people of Russia. The most global of her very first predictions turned out to be the prophecy about the events after the revolution in 1917. The future saint said that all churches would be destroyed and believers would be expelled. People will divide the land, and then go their separate ways, throwing everything they have received away.

Moving to Moscow

After the revolution, Matrona's two brothers became communists. It was not safe for her to be in the same house as them. Therefore, the saint, with the help of friends, moved to the capital. There she lived in the houses of relatives and friends . I moved from one apartment to another many times. She did not have a residence permit, so it was not easy for her.

The rumor about the saint quickly spread throughout Moscow. People came to her in crowds; in the morning there were lines outside the window. She prayed, healed people, and guided them on the right path. It is clear that the Soviet government did not like this. They came to arrest her several times, but my mother foresaw this and each time managed to move to another house.

One day, however, the Red Army soldier managed to catch her and provide an arrest warrant. But the saint replied that he should run home quickly to save his wife from the fire. He believed, ran and saved his wife. After this, he believed in God and the saint’s foresight.

Living conditions were not always suitable. One day, a friend, Z. Zhdanova, came to her and saw that Matrona was in an unheated house, in terrible cold, and her hair was frozen to the wall. Then she took the saint to her home . Zhdanova lived with her mother, her father was in prison, her brother was at war. The woman began to look after Matronushka and at the same time record her miracles. This turned out to be a whole book of memories.

Once Matrona lived in the house of the wife of a repressed priest. She tried to save her husband, even went to the witch, after which she was punished by demonic possession. After this, the woman became extremely cruel, mocked Matrona, did not feed or drink her. But she did not hold a grudge against her and healed her from demonic possession .

At the age of seventeen, Matrona faced a new test. She knew that a witch was waiting for her in the temple with the goal of harming her, but the brave girl went anyway. When the saint was walking after communion, a woman approached her, after which Matrona lost her legs forever. For the rest of her life she could not take another step.

Matrona had severe pain in her legs, they curled up and began to dry out . In addition, the saint was tormented by several chronic illnesses. Sometimes she could not sleep all night, moaning in pain. Matrona often prayed at night. She never grumbled, did not complain about illness, she endured everything and prayed.

Despite the severe pain that tormented her every day, the saint spent the whole day receiving those who came to her, advising, and healing the sick with prayer. One man could not walk, but crawled to her village. He left her on his own feet, healthy. Matrona healed many demoniacs from a terrible illness with one Epiphany water.

One day Matrona told her mother that the icon of the “Seeking of the Lost” of the Most Holy Theotokos was asking to come to their church. She asked to tell the priest that in his house there was a book with an image of this icon. At the same time, the girl named the shelf and row, although she had never been to his house. Matronushka asked to paint an icon from this image. To do this, she ordered to collect money from fellow villagers. When some people gave coins to laugh at, the girl ordered them to give back their money with the words: “They ruin everything.”

When they found the icon painter, Matrona ordered him to confess and partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ before starting work. He did it, but soon came and said that the work was not going well. Then the saint named him a sin that he was afraid to name in confession. The icon painter went to repent again, and only then was he able to paint the icon.

When the icon was ready, they began to walk with it in a religious procession. Matronushka herself met the icon and venerated it. It happened that during a drought, a prayer service was served in front of the shrine, and before it ended it began to rain.

In 1912, Matrona's father died. By that time the mother was weak and sick . Matrona tirelessly predicted terrible times coming to Rus'. She ordered the landowner to quickly go abroad, but he did not listen, and he had a hard time during the critical revolutionary years.

Matrona predicted that churches would soon be closed, monasteries would be destroyed, and monks would be expelled. One woman came to her for a blessing to build a bell tower, but the Blessed One did not allow it. The petitioner did not listen, but did not have time to complete the construction of the bell tower.

Some predictions of the Holy Matrona of Moscow can be called not just gloomy, but even frightening. One of these was expressed by her in her native village, almost a century ago. Matrona assured her fellow villagers and close acquaintances that the people were walking around as if under hypnosis, and that something terrible was in the air. This “something terrible,” according to the saint, had never previously gone beyond the swamps and dense forests. Now, an unknown and frightening formation even to saints close to God has approached people and walks around them, perhaps to this day.

In the visions of Matrona of Moscow, people reject God, and demons do not fly past houses, as is the case with believers, but settle next to a person. Evil spirits now live side by side with people. Perhaps this is a hint that she will be to blame for the end of the world, as well as the lack of faith in God. It is interesting that in her predictions about the Second World War, she also called enemies quite abstractly - “evil” or “secret enemy.” Perhaps this time it’s not about demons or demons at all.

The prophecies of Matrona of Moscow about the end of the world say that there will be no Third World War. She called the end of the world a war, but without war. The saint said that there would be a lot of dead, but as a result of what disaster, she did not indicate.
