He had a vision that said that he needed to beg this icon from the emperor to build a monastery on Mount Kykkos on the island. The emperor promised to give the icon back and a miracle happened - his daughter was healed of a fatal illness. Seeing this, the emperor did not really want to part with such a miraculous image and began to use all sorts of tricks to avoid transferring the face.
After some time, the emperor himself fell ill and he received a vision of the Mother of God, who ordered her icon to be urgently transferred to Cyprus. The emperor ordered an accurate list to be made and sent her to the island by ship.
