How does the prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos “Offering to my Queen” help?

The Mother of God is one of the main symbols of the Christian faith. According to Biblical traditions, the Mother of God more than once saved Christian believers from various troubles, including persecution, litigation, unrest and various diseases. The Mother of God personifies hope and true faith in God, who sent his savior to all humanity. Therefore, it is believed that the prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos “My Most Blessed Queen” is one of the most powerful Orthodox prayers.

The meaning and meaning of prayer

Among Orthodox parishioners there is often a misconception about the true meaning of the prayer text. Some believers think that they need to read it every day, but this is not so. One should turn to the Mother of God only in extreme need, asking Her for help and intercession. This is exactly how the words “Behold my misfortune, behold my sorrow” are interpreted.

The prayer “My Queen Offering” is used by Christians to ask for help from the Mother of God

It is not for nothing that the Mother of God is called “Queen” and “Hope”. The interpretation of these titles indicates the ability of the Blessed Virgin Mary to console the mourning, protect the offended, and help the poor or strangers. The worshipers ask the Heavenly Intercessor for participation in resolving difficult life problems, and end their appeal with the phrase “So be it.” These words confirm confidence in the powers of the Mother of God.

In what cases does prayer help?

There is no need to treat the text of the prayer as some kind of spell, which can only be pronounced at a certain time and in certain circumstances. Since the prayer “My Most Blessed Queen” is a petition for the help and intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in difficult moments of life, it should be read when it is hard on the soul and difficult in life. But if you just want to supplement your usual prayer rule with this text, there is no prohibition on this.

Prayer “Offering to my Queen” - a petition for well-being and spiritual intercession

The main thing to remember when starting any prayer is that its effectiveness depends not so much on the words spoken, but on the faith of the person praying, his trust in the Lord, the search for His Holy Will and Providence. It is this attitude that allows you to pray with the greatest spiritual response, when you feel calm, lightness and peace.

Any appeal to the Most Pure Virgin Mary was especially loved by the people precisely because of the great consolation that they bestow. In the most difficult moments of life, a prayerful appeal to the Most Pure Virgin can work real miracles. How much evidence there is when even human lives were saved from imminent death after the sincere appeal of the Most Holy Theotokos!

The Power of a Prayer Text

“My Queen, the Lord” is not a spell that can immediately solve all problems. There is no need to guess the place or time to turn to the Heavenly Virgin. Words of petition can even be included in a daily rule, if there is such a need. When your soul is heavy or difficulties arise in life, only sincere words coming from the heart can be heard by the Mother of God. When pronouncing a prayer text, it is necessary to sacredly believe, trust in the Almighty, and try to know His Will. Only with this attitude will you feel the full power of prayer.

The Mother of God is able to give great consolation to those who mourn, and when a person has almost lost hope, she can work incredible miracles. The Church knows many testimonies of salvation from imminent death after reading a prayer appeal to the Heavenly Intercessor. Often She comes to those asking in a dream, indicating what should be done to avoid tragedies.

The seriously ill, the offended, travelers and people who have lost relatives or loved ones often turn to Our Lady.

By her calling, the Virgin Mary is the Mother of God, and therefore all Christian believers are Her children. Like a real mother, She takes care of her children, protects and surrounds them with care. By being on good terms with your parent, you thereby show respect to the Mother of God. You can contact Her with different requests:

  • get rid of a serious illness;
  • reduce grief;
  • give comfort and joy;
  • maintain peace in the family;
  • protect from ill-wishers, envy, conflicts or unnecessary disputes;
  • to protect the offended, the poor, the travelers.

The history of the appearance of the prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Since the first centuries of Christianity, believers have turned to the Holy Virgin with prayers. The words of the Archangel Gabriel, sent to earth to tell Mary the good news, together with the words of Elizabeth, the future mother of John the Baptist, were captured in Holy Scripture and then included in the first prayer to the Mother of God. The image of the Holy Mother was so loved by the Orthodox that several more texts addressed to her appeared, which later became canonical.

History knows many cases when a prayerful appeal to the Mother of God worked real miracles. Her icons protected Orthodox Christians in battles, saved them from tragedy, and healed them. Like a real mother, the Mother of God takes care of her children and protects them from adversity. Her image throughout history has been especially revered by Orthodox Christians.

Important events in the life of the Mother of God are marked by church holidays. These days, hymns and glorifications of the Mother of God are heard in the cathedrals. Another important holiday for Orthodox Christians is the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Every year parishioners remember the events of the Byzantine Empire, described in the life of Andrei the Fool. Being surrounded by hostile troops, having gathered in the church for the all-night service, the townspeople prayed and soon witnessed the appearance of the Mother of God, who lowered her veil over the city, protecting it from enemies. Throughout history, the Mother of God has repeatedly appeared to those praying in dreams and in reality, bestowing blessings and forgiveness.

Rules for reading a prayer address

You can offer petitions to the Blessed Virgin Mary at any time, but only out of great need. For your words to have power, you need to eradicate unbelief from your heart and rely on God with all your soul. It's good if you read the Bible first. This will help you learn about the life of the Mother of God, as well as understand how best to pray. If the text “My Blessed Queen” is pronounced for the first time, it is recommended that you read it in the prayer book, where there is a version in Russian, with accents.

The Holy Scriptures call the Queen of Heaven the Intercessor before the Almighty, and therefore some clergy recommend undergoing the Sacrament of the Eucharist before communicating with the Mother of God.

Author's advice

During prayer, you need to fully concentrate on the spoken words, reject everything worldly and open your heart. You need to address the Mother of God respectfully, with reverence, while in a calm state. You cannot say a prayer text if your thoughts are occupied with anger, anger or envy. The Queen of Heaven favors those who have good relationships with family and friends, and especially with mothers. Therefore, you should not make a petition if you had a conflict the day before. Even without being the initiator, it is better to reconcile before talking with the Most Holy One.

Result of prayer

For three days I read a prayer at the baby’s crib, read it aloud, turned to the Mother of God, that is, my attention was completely!.. concentrated on Her image, only instead of “my”, “mi”, “me” I inserted the name of my son. On the evening of the third day, continuing my SINCERE appeal to the Most Holy Theotokos, I heard the Heavenly Choir! — it was music created by voices (I clearly understood this, as well as the fact that people would not be able to sing like that). I was in a room in a reinforced concrete apartment, and MUSIC was “flowing” from everywhere. Of course, I took this MIRACLE as a sign that I was being Heard... WOW! And he continued to pray with even greater zeal.

And that night I had a dream: I am standing near a huge building; huge columns, steps, doors. I go up the steps (I don’t remember how), I open the door, which is four times taller than me (my height is 1.88 m), and I find myself in a large room. At a massive table, on which sheets of paper lie stacked, a huge guy sits and writes something - bearded, wearing a light burlap shirt (at least it looks like it). I begin, shuffling around and searching for words, to express my request for my son, stuttering and not understanding whether it is appropriate to speak now, because He is not paying any attention to me. At some point, He looked at me and with his right hand made a gesture from himself (at the same time with this gesture and glance, such a holistic understanding, awareness, answer came to me) - like: “Here you got it! Everything has already been decided and everything will be fine.”

The next examination really showed that the baby was healthy. Either everything resolved on its own, or the diagnosis was made incorrectly. BUT, the main thing I understood is that They Hear Us! And if you are persistent enough, they will answer! “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.” ~ Matthew, 7th chapter.

And the main thing is that I definitely felt and understood! There is a clear hierarchy THERE. I prayed to the Mother of God, and a dissatisfied (apparently received a stick from Mother) Uncle answered (let him forgive me, He did not introduce himself).

Another case of turning to the Mother of God

On another page (here) I already wrote about an illness that, in the literal sense of the word, knocked me off my feet, but what I did not mention was that, exhausted from pain, rapidly losing 20-odd kilograms, having undergone drug treatment, and even already having several months of kinesiotherapy under my belt (not getting the desired result, under the “hanging” threat of surgical intervention (and for me this is HORROR, I remember from somewhere that this is the bottom of ignorance, and therefore unacceptable) and the pressure of incorrect in my narrow-mindedness as doctors)… One evening, as I was going to bed, I prayed to my Queen, Presuming

to the Mother of God (after the previously described incident of turning to the Mother of God, I try not to disturb Heaven once again, They already have enough work there, but half a year of torment!!! Fighting sin and ignorance, and I asked - once, on an exhale, tired and exhausted)… That night I woke up from hearing the flowing word “SHAKTI-SHAKTI-SHAKTI”......, the visual sequence was accompanied by a vision of something resembling liquid, golden honey flowing into me or flowing through me. After this night, the body began to actively recover. Yes, I still (five years later) do qigong, yoga, pranayama, meditation - recovery is a long process, a process of cleansing and regeneration (perhaps lifelong).

But here is what I would like to draw your attention to! I turned to the Mother of God with an Orthodox prayer, and the answer was “SHAKTI”. The first thing I did, of course, was type the word Shakti on the Internet: and received the answer that this is the name of the wife of Lord Shiva; Sakti - power, strength. In general, the energy of the ruler of the three (paradise, middle, hell, in a word, material) worlds. And this (not once again) proves that the WORLD is ONE, the division into our own and alien gods is the lot of people affected by the feeble-mindedness of the gunas of material nature, well... and demons, probably, and in other matters, the Devas also sin with this.

Somehow like this! It feels like I wanted to write something else, I’ll remember and add it. I hope my experience will help someone make the right decision. If you have any questions, ask!

Text of the prayer “To my queen, offering” in Russian

Blessings to my queen, my hope to the Mother of God, friend of the orphans and strange representatives, the sorrowful with joy, the offended patroness! See my misfortune, see my sorrow, help me as I am weak, nourish me as I am strange. Weigh my offense, resolve it as if you will: for I have no other help except You, no other representative, no good comforter, except You, O God of God, for you will preserve me and cover me forever and ever. Amen.

You can say prayer words at home, in front of the home iconostasis, where there must be images of the Savior and the Mother of God, revered saints and the Guardian Angel. It is good to first fumigate the room with incense, light a lamp or candle. If you want to pray in a church, but there is a service going on there, you need to wait until it ends and then turn to the Mother of God.

Prayer with accents

To place the correct emphasis in a prayer written in Old Church Slavonic, you can refer to the text below, in which the emphasis is placed:

My Most Blessed Queen, My Hope, Mother of God, Friend of the Orphan and Strange to the Representative, the Sorrowful to Joy, the Offended to the Patroness! See my misfortune, see my sorrow; Help me, for I am weak; feed me, for I am strange! Resolve my grievance, as if I were wrong: for I have no other help than You, no other Representative, no good Comforter, except You, O Mother of God! May you protect me and protect me forever and ever. Amen.
