There are three main concepts of human origins

Knowledge about the essence of man is the goal to which man himself began to strive from the moment he appeared on earth. At the same time, humanity is divided into two parts. One part points to one’s own divine origin, while the other says that man arose as a result of a series of biological transformations (evolution). Based on these concepts, the following theories of human origins are built:

evolutionary or scientific;
religious, talking about the creation of man by God;
the theory of external intervention or the theory of paleocontact, it is not considered scientific.

According to scientific concepts, it is a ritual image of gods or mythical creatures. Supporters of paleocontact see here aliens, from whom, in their opinion, man descended. The most controversial and practically unprovable theory is the theory of external intervention or paleocontact. It can be briefly stated as follows: humans were created by aliens.

Moreover, in its simplest form, this theory says that all people are descendants of aliens who landed on earth in prehistoric times.

There are 3 main theories of human origin.

Some supporters of the theory of external intervention say that people were created by alien creatures using genetic engineering. At the same time, they develop on earth according to the program laid down in them by extraterrestrial intelligence, which is manifested in the idea of evolution.

Among the representatives of this movement is the scientist Zecharia Sitchin, who published an article entitled “The Case of Adam’s Alien Genes,” in which he claims that ancient man was created through genetic engineering.

All available “evidence” is the fruit of biased interpretations of historical facts and arbitrary interpretations of artifacts discovered in different parts of the world.

As for the idea of the creation of man by third-party beings and his development according to the program he created, it is very reminiscent of the ideas put forward by the divine theory, only here God is replaced by aliens.

The hypothesis of the paradoxical origin of man is the fruit of the development of physics

There is another theory that has appeared relatively recently, which claims to be an alternative explanation for the process of human origin. This is the hypothesis of the paradoxical origin of man. The hypothesis of the paradoxical origin of man claims that he was created by people from the future.

Thus, supporters of the hypothesis of the paradoxical origin of man argue that the Universe, the earth and man himself were created by people and they come from the future. That is, they are the result of a person moving through time with the goal of creating from the future himself and living conditions convenient for his existence.

At the same time, the mechanism of creation of the world and man in this case is not revealed, so it is indicated that such “creation” continues every second.

At the same time, God is here replaced by a man of the future. Naturally, it can never be accepted by believers, but scientists, pointing out that even two centuries are different times, say that only the creation of a time machine can confirm it. Today this idea is unscientific.

The meaning of the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him:

“إنَّ اللهَ خَلَقَ ءادَمَ على صُوْرَتِهَ”

The correct meaning of the Hadith : “ , Allah created Adam as a man - in the image that was determined for Him ,” that is, sixty cubits tall and seven shoulder width elbows. Thus, the words على صورته mean: “in the image of man.” And also this Hadith can be interpreted: “Truly, Allah created Adam in the image to which Allah gave distinction from other types of creation, giving him special honor.” Then the words على صورته in this Hadith mean: “an image that has honor with Allah,” and this phrase in Arabic is called “idafat at-tashrif.” The same phrase is used when talking about Ka'ba "Beytullah", which means: "House of honor with Allah." Allah Almighty said (Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 125):

﴿أَن طَهِّرَا بَيْتِيَ﴾

This means: “Allah the Almighty commanded Ibrahim and Ismail to cleanse the House in which Allah is worshiped, the Ka’bu, from idols ,” that is, a House that has honor.

Some people misinterpret this Hadith that Allah allegedly created Adam in His image. This is a clear misconception, since Allah is not a body, and He does not have an image; It does not take up place or direction, since this is the quality of objects - tangible and intangible.

Evolutionary theory is the main alternative to the divine theory of human origins

The most popular among non-believers is the evolutionary or scientific theory of human origins. She talks about its animal origin, which causes deep indignation among many Christians. Moreover, for many people, the essence of this theory is the assertion that man descended from a monkey.

The modern evolutionary theory of human origin considers Darwin's theory as its foundation. She suggests that man descended from higher primates. At the same time, man and ape had one ancestor, but man never descended directly from it.

The change in human nature, according to evolutionists, occurs gradually under the influence of external factors and natural selection. Evolutionists operate with a diverse arsenal of evidence: paleontological, archaeological, biological, genetic, cultural, psychological, etc.

It is worth noting that the idea of the origin of man from lower forms of life did not belong to Charles Darwin. He pointed only to the evolution of a species, but speaking about interspecific evolution.

Evolutionary theory or concept is considered fundamental in modern science. Most representatives of the scientific community adhere to it and do not recognize various pseudoscientific theories, such as “spirit on energy”.

At the same time, the theory that man descended from higher primates - human-like creatures through gradual modification has not yet been proven. Religious figures also point to this, saying that all links in human evolution from primates to hominids have not been found.

Alternative view

Scientists still cannot clearly explain the phenomenon of the appearance on our planet of the Cro-Magnon man - a modern type of man. This is truly a mystery: instead of the bestial, low-browed Neanderthal 40 thousand years ago, somehow unexpectedly, “suddenly,” beautifully built tall handsome men with magnificent skulls, which Socrates would have envied, began to live in the caves. Where did these people come from?

A scientific sensation was the study of the genetic code of Neanderthals: it turned out that it had very little in common with the genetic code of modern (Cro-Magnon) man. This discovery completely confused the evolutionary theory, according to which Neanderthal man is still included in the evolutionary tree of humanity. Now the ancient ancestor of man is simply unknown. Our “roots” were cut off 40 thousand years ago.

The answer to this riddle, although close to fantasy, may be contained in messages scattered in ancient books, chronicles and chronicles about mysterious heavenly signs, flying “glories of God”, “angels” and “sons of God” descending from heaven and taking wives daughters of men. Such facts are reported by the compilers of the Bible, ancient historians and chroniclers. Historians and chroniclers knew nothing about UFOs and the possibilities of interplanetary contacts. Far from the problems of “star wars” that today’s schoolchildren are so keen on, they always tried to accurately and impartially describe various unusual phenomena - and therefore one should treat the ancient chronicles, if not with trust, then at least with respect and interest. A comparison of chronicle messages gives rise to serious reflection.

For example, the ancient Roman historian Plutarch tells how in the 1st century BC. In Phrygia (Asia Minor), the troops of the Roman military leader Lucullus, famous for his gluttony, and the Spanish rebel Sertorius met for a decisive battle. The two armies were approaching in orderly ranks, there was very little left before a military clash, when suddenly... “the sky opened up and a large fiery body appeared, rushing down into the gap between the two armies; it flew right over the ground, and then soared up and disappeared into the sky again.” In appearance, writes Plutarch, the mysterious object most closely resembled a wide barrel, and in color it was similar to molten silver. Frightened by the mysterious sign, the opponents dispersed without a fight. As we see, the ancient Roman historian, known for his accuracy, gives... a typical description of a UFO! Perhaps somewhere in the archives of an unknown planet there are “film materials” in which the real Lucullus appears surrounded by stern Roman legionnaires.

Homer describes a similar event in the Iliad, telling about the great war between the Greeks and Trojans at the beginning of the 12th century BC. During the battle, “the goddess Athena in the form of a bright star sent by Zeus” flashed among the fighting regiments, bewildering the soldiers and making them think: to whom does this amazing sign promise victory?..

There are also reports of UFOs in medieval European chronicles. Benvenuto Cellini, the famous Italian sculptor and artist of the Renaissance, describes how he and a friend once left Florence for Rome. It was already dark when they climbed into the mountains surrounding the city. Turning around, both travelers shouted in amazement: “Good God, what is this hanging in the sky over Florence? After all, it’s like a big fiery log that sparkles and emits bright light!”

The Ustyug Chronicle reports: On January 25, 1677, at seven o’clock, a terrible fire broke out in Ustyug the Great, from which the entire city center disappeared in flames. And suddenly, among the fire above the Church of St. Barbara, a huge object similar to the Moon appeared. And he hung low over the burning city for two whole hours. And then he quickly ascended and disappeared into the sky. It is possible that the fire of Ustyug the Great is still being shown on some distant planet in a program like our “Travelers Club”.

Maybe one of the English sailors met with a UFO and gave Swift information about the satellites of Mars and the idea of a flying disk?..

It is characteristic that all the chroniclers of antiquity, describing the phenomena of UFOs, did not find suitable comparisons. They saw “like a barrel”, “like a log”, “like the Moon”. This phrase is found especially often in the Bible, which has preserved descriptions of mysterious celestial phenomena that are amazing in their detail.

This is what the prophet Ezekiel tells about the events that took place at the beginning of the 6th century BC: “I was among the migrants on the Chebar River when the heavens opened and I saw the appearance of God... A great cloud and swirling fire, and a radiance around it. From the middle of the fire the likeness of four animals was visible - and their appearance was like that of a person. And each one has four wings. And human hands were under their wings... And the wings touched one another, and when the wings stopped, they covered their bodies.”

Of course, there were no analogues to such a miraculous phenomenon for a person who lived 2.5 thousand years ago during the Bronze Age. A technical analogy arose quite recently: a helicopter of the Kamov system, where four wings touching in pairs rotate on one axis. But it seems that Ezekiel is trying to describe an individual backpack-type helicopter-blade system with wheels and flexible wings that descend along the body when landing, which is still unknown to our civilization.

Ezekiel clarifies that on the ground near each “animal” there was a wheel, and it seemed that “a wheel was in a wheel,” and when the “animals” rose into the air, the wheels rose with them. Above their heads there was a “semblance of a vault” (apparently a cabin. - A.P.), and wings extended above the vault. During the flight of this, as Ezekiel put it, “the glory of the Lord,” a terrible roar was heard, “like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the noise in a military camp; and when she stopped, the wings dropped.” But we now know well how wildly a powerful helicopter roars, how the flexible wings-blades of a rotorcraft standing on the ground hang down, how in flight the blades turn into a shining “umbrella” or “dome”.

Obviously, the bravest person from the Bronze Age would be petrified with fear if he got into a modern airport. But it seems that Ezekiel encountered such a high technical civilization that it could amaze us. After all, the feet of the “animals” sparkled like shiny copper (we don’t have such shoes yet), the clothes of the humanoid “animals” glowed like burning coals or lamps (the creators of the “presentations” of supernova clothing in Paris have not yet thought of this); the rims of the wheels were high and scary, because “they were full of eyes.” What are these “eyes”?.. Maybe just shiny rivets or a spotted structure of a luminous electromagnetic field?..

One can only be amazed at the detailed description of the high technical civilization given by Bronze Age man. His attempt to more accurately and truthfully convey what he saw, his feeling of his own “technical inferiority” is very clearly conveyed by the expression “as if” that accompanies almost every phrase. It is this “as if” that is psychologically very important evidence of the author’s veracity, proof of the trembling of the soul, shocked by the meeting with something formidable, powerful and unknown.

At the second meeting, Ezekiel already calls the strangers not “animals”, but “cherubim”. But cherubs, in the same way, spread their drooping wings during takeoff and, with a terrible roar, soar into the sky along with “wheels full of eyes.” They rise to the “glory of the Lord” hanging above them, where under a blue dome made “as if from sapphire” sits “as if a man.” What else could he say in the 6th century BC? witness the flight of even a hot air balloon? How would he describe the helicopter and the UFO disk?..

The Bible, the Book of Genesis, which reflects the most ancient traditions, tells in detail about the “angels” who visited the righteous Lot in the city of Sodom. These mysterious aliens, although called angels, are very similar in their needs to ordinary people: they need bread and shelter. Moreover, the similarity of the “angels” with people is so great that they were almost raped by the men from Sodom, who were brutalized by the sight of strangers. The Bible reports that the “angels” were saved from them only by striking the pederasts with blindness (this could have been done, for example, with a powerful laser beam).

But there is also a limit to the patience of the “Higher Powers”: the Lord always condemned “sodomy” and the sinful city was sentenced to death along with the entire population. When dawn rose, the “angels” began to urge Lot: “Arise, take your wife and your two daughters, so that you do not perish for the iniquities of the city” (Genesis, chapter 19, v. 15). “And those men took him and his wife and two daughters by the hand and set him outside the city.” One of the “angels” said: “Save your soul, don’t look back, run to the mountain so that you don’t die... And the Lord rained brimstone and fire from heaven on Sodom and Gomorrah. And now smoke rises from the ground, like smoke from a furnace..."

As we see. The Bible describes situations that in our time can already be interpreted at the level of knowledge of modern civilization. But this was absolutely excluded a hundred years ago. The Bible describes "living creatures", "cherubim" and "angels" as human-like creatures. This is very important information. But maybe it’s the other way around - and modern man, the Cro-Magnon man who mysteriously appeared on Earth, is “cherub-like”?..

It is possible that the answer to this question is contained in the same Book of Genesis, in chapter 6. Here you can read the following amazing text:

“Then the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful, and they took them as wives, as they chose. The sons of God began to come in to the daughters of men, and they began to give birth to them... These are strong, glorious people from ancient times...” Thus, the text of the Old Testament points to direct sexual contacts of highly developed “sons of God” with people.

The presented facts can be interpreted as evidence of close contact between people of the past and highly developed beings such as “aliens”, who may have “improved” the human race. Let us remember that on the scale of the Universe, whose age is estimated at 15 billion years, our earthly civilization arose not even “yesterday,” but literally “a microsecond” ago. Maybe ancient highly developed civilizations really actively influence the life of other planets, including the development of more highly organized earthlings?

For example, hundreds of cases of the appearance of mysterious figures in fields with grain crops recorded in our time are very similar to the systematic ecological testing of people's main food contaminated with technogenic waste... It seems that the Earth, with its growing environmental problems, is “under the hood” of higher civilizations leading own monitoring of our planet. It cannot be ruled out that the human genetic code was partially borrowed from space aliens. As we can see, there are certain grounds for such an opinion.

God created man - this is the view of an Orthodox person on the theory of the origin of humanity

For an Orthodox Christian, a religious theory of human origins is natural. Its essence is that man was created by God. At the same time, one cannot say that man came from God, since he is His creation.

That is why, when thinking about this question, it is necessary to turn directly to the Holy Scripture, which says:

“And the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.”

Here the Holy Scripture points to the same nature of man and woman, because then the Lord created Eve from the rib of Adam. Thus, for a believer there are no mysteries in the question of human origin; Christian prophets and saints have always pointed this out.

It should be noted that there is no unity in the Orthodox world on the issue of attitude towards the scientific theory of human origins.

The Bible speaks twice about the origin of man.

The fact is that in Orthodoxy there are two views on the interpretation of Holy Scripture on the question of how human nature was created by God.

One of them involves a literal reading of the Bible and rejects all attempts at a scientific approach to the topic of human origins. So, for example, Saint John of Kronstadt believed.

The highest hierarchy of the Russian Orthodox Church does not support the position of supporters of a literal interpretation of the Bible, since it leads to a conflict between the Church and the school and scientific community.

“No harm will come to a schoolchild if he knows the biblical teaching about the origin of the world. And if anyone wants to believe that he descended from a monkey, let him think so, but do not impose it on others.”

Allah the Almighty, by His Eternal Will, wanted Adam to exist, and created Him according to His Power. This means: “The descendants of Adam are different because of the earth from which Adam was created. There are people with white skin, red skin, black skin, and in between. Among them there are soft and severe, and also in between. There are also bad and good, and in between.”

Important addition. It is reported that the name “Adam” comes from the Arabic word “adim”, which means “surface of the earth”, since He was created from it.

There are 4 postulates of the biblical teaching about man

The biblical theory of the origin of man forms the basis of the biblical teaching about man. It contains four postulates:

man is God's creation;
by his spiritual nature, man is a creation deeply different from all other earthly creatures, incomparably more perfect than them and represents the image and likeness of God;
by his bodily nature, man is also the most perfect creation of God, the crown of all earthly creation;
both in terms of his physical and spiritual-moral nature, man was created in the most perfect form, as the purest rational moral person.

The creation of man by God does not mean that man can independently find a connection with him

Some believers, knowing that the divine origin of man is the only correct explanation of the question of the origin of humanity, go to extremes. It consists in affirming the possibility of establishing an independent connection with God. As a result, a person comes to the brink of heresy.

The creation of man by God does not mean he is sinless.

This is a disastrous path that can lead a person, for whom the existence of his soul is a “special” sign of “divinity,” to spiritual death. The fact is that human nature is perverted by the fall of the first man Adam.

In order to return her to her original nature and restore her connection with God, repentance and atonement are necessary. The path to this was opened to us by Jesus Christ through suffering on the Cross, death and resurrection.

This must always be remembered; as for people who profess a scientific view of human origins, believers need to gently convince them, without imposing their opinion on them.
