Features of thanksgiving prayers, who is addressed and texts

Faith in God is the basis of soul salvation for every Orthodox believer. Sincere prayer can work real miracles, but the most important thing is that it helps a person take the righteous and true path that will lead him to the Kingdom of God, it can inspire a person to do good and open his heart. The Church believes that gratitude is one of the most important Christian feelings. Prayers of thanksgiving directed to the Lord God are very important for every believer. It should be understood that it is imperative to thank the Almighty for help in business.

Gratitude expressed to the Lord God in prayer is a ray of light that will help expel resentment and anger, hatred and disgust from the soul. Thanks to the Almighty, a person claims that he has learned the lessons sent down and made the right conclusions.

Questions for the priest

Question: Does it make sense to read a prayer in Church Slavonic?
I have the interpreted text. Will I be violating the rules of prayer if I do not use the classic version? Answer: In general, it is desirable that parishioners know Church Slavonic speech at least a little. But reading the interpreted text is permitted

It doesn't matter what words you use to pray. Sometimes a simple thank you is enough

But prayers help you get into the right mood. Therefore, for many years they are not abandoned and are preserved in their original form.

Question: Is it worth learning prayers by heart?

Answer: This skill will be useful if you don't have a written version at hand. But when memorizing a prayer, try to understand its meaning as deeply as possible. Simply chanting words will not help you reach the Supreme. This is the speech of the flesh. Prayers are used to allow the soul to speak to God. Only in this case will the believer be heard.

Question: How often should you thank God?

Answer: As often as possible. The world in which we live is one great act of the Lord. His gift to us for the time of atonement for sins. Every day different events occur, each of which involves the Creator. Ideally, gratitude should be expressed every day.

Advice from priests to the laity

Father Vasily gives recommendations on how to behave during prayer, when gratitude is offered to the Lord:

  • You cannot ask for revenge or turn to Christ or the Mother of God with malicious intent;
  • gratitude should not be attempted if there is no feeling of grace in the soul, the believer should tune in before going to church, you can read a prayer text about strengthening faith, overcoming despondency;
  • when a service is held, it is recommended to also read a prayer internally, at home and in other places you can offer praise to the Almighty through worldly songs about the Divine, I heard, for example: “Give thanks to Christ, Give thanks with your work,” read the canons, akathist - you can use any occasion and method to offer Praise to the Heavenly Father.

Prayer to the Lord 2

We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present in us, the unworthy, the former, about those known and not known, about those revealed and unmanifested, those who were in fact, and the word vom: who loved us as he loved the Only Begotten You are willing to give your Son to us. Make us also worthy of Your love. Give wisdom through Your word and through Your fear, inhale strength from Your power, and whatever we want or don’t want to sin, forgive, and not impute, and preserve our holy soul, and present To Your throne, I have a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Your love for mankind. And remember, O Lord, all who call on Your name in truth: remember all who desire good or evil against us: for all are men, and every man is in vain. Moreover, we pray to You, Lord: grant us Your great mercy.

Translation: We thank You, Lord our God, for all Your good deeds, which from childhood to this day have been performed on us, unworthy: about those that we know and do not know, about obvious and hidden, past deeds and words. You loved us so much that You were willing to give Your Only Begotten Son for us. Grant us also to be worthy of Your love. Grant us wisdom through Your word and inhale strength from Your power through Your fear, and if we have sinned in any way, voluntarily or unwittingly, forgive us and do not hold it against us. And keep our soul in holiness, and place it before Your throne with a clear conscience, and give it an end worthy of Your love for mankind. And remember, Lord, all those who call upon Your name in truth: remember all who wish us good or hostile: for we are all men, and every man is vanity. Therefore, we pray to You, Lord: grant us Your great mercy.

Another prayer of the holy righteous John of Kronstadt 4

I thank Thee, Lord my God, for giving me existence, for giving me birth in the Christian faith, for the Most Pure Virgin Mary, Intercessor for the salvation of our race, for Thy saints praying for us, for the Guardian Angel, for public worship that supports us faith and virtue, for the Holy Scriptures, for the Holy Sacraments, and especially Your Body and Blood, for the mysterious grace-filled consolations, for the hope of receiving the Kingdom of Heaven and for all the blessings You have given me.

Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity of Saint Righteous John of Kronstadt 5

O Trinity, our God, simple Being, who created our soul in Your image, that in You we have our life and peace! O Trinity, our Nourisher and Hope! Give us in You alone to always place our hope, in You alone to find life and peace. About the Trinity! You, like a mother, carry us all in Your arms and feed us all from Your hands, like the most tender mother! You never forget and will not forget us; for You Yourself said: even if a woman forgets her child, I will not forget you (Is. 49:15), that is, I will not cease to nourish, protect, defend and save you.

How to read the canon correctly

According to Orthodox doctrine, it is necessary to remember that you can pray to anyone, but God fulfills the requests themselves. The Mother of God and other saints simply help solve various adversities. That is why the first words of gratitude should be directed to the Lord, then to the Mother of God, and then to the other saints.

By your mercy, save and have mercy on your servants, your most holy Orthodox patriarchs, and your most eminent metropolitans, archbishops and bishops, and the entire priestly and monastic rank. Save, Lady, and have mercy on our God-protected Russian country, its people and all those in power, military leaders, mayors and all the army, and those who do good, and all Orthodox Christians, through the robe of your sacred protection. And pray, Lady, from You without seed the incarnate Christ, our God, may He gird us with His power from above against our invisible and visible enemies.

We advise you to study Prayers to Matrona of Moscow against drunkenness

Oh, all-merciful Lady, Lady Theotokos! Raise us from the depths of sin and deliver us from hunger, pestilence, from earthquake and flood, from fire and sword, from the invasion of foreigners and civil war, and from sudden death, and from enemy attacks, and from harmful winds, and from deadly plagues, and from all evil. Grant, Lady, peace and health to your servants, all Orthodox Christians, and enlighten their minds and the eyes of their hearts for their salvation, and honor us, your sinful servants, with the Kingdom of Your Son, Christ our God. For His dominion is blessed and glorified, with His beginningless Father and His all-holy, good, and life-giving Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen."

Remember that we always thank people for their help and other good deeds. So why do we sometimes need to make an effort to thank the Lord?

The Impact of Gratitude

The Lord and the saints do not require our gratitude as something necessary for life. She just brings joy to their hearts. Because it testifies to spiritual growth. This means that a person becomes a little closer to righteousness. And for every good deed there is always great joy in heaven. It's like watching a spoiled child finally do the right thing. Parents will certainly be in high spirits. And the person praying will immediately feel better in his soul.

  • Of course, gratitude to God and all the saints must be sincere. It is not enough to simply submit a note, pay the money and leave with a feeling of accomplishment.
  • After all, the Lord does not need payment or an offering in the form of candles. He wants to see our location.
  • Doesn't the father rejoice when the child says: “I love you!” This is what Christians should learn - to relate to God as their heavenly parent.

Daily gratitude can give a lot to our soul, even improve our life circumstances. This is exactly what will happen as we begin to put our soul in order. Demons simply cannot attack someone whose thoughts are aimed only at good. This is what constant prayer teaches. Only not mechanical muttering, but true spiritual work becomes the very staircase that leads to heaven.

How to thank the saints

Orthodox believers practice frequent appeals to famous Christian martyrs, miracle workers, and Angels. For them, they are faithful intercessors, helpers, petitioners before the throne of God the Father. With their support, a person no longer feels like a miserable drop in the stormy ocean of life.

Worries about relatives, worry about what will happen tomorrow are very common even for Christians. Fate is unknown to them, only one thing is certain - death. This brings melancholy and even despair to many. But it is quite possible to get rid of the feeling of hopelessness thanks to the good righteous. Through their prayers, the Holy Spirit descends from heaven. He suggests the right way out of the situation, calms and consoles the weak.

SONG OF PRAISE SIMILAR TO THE PSALMS OF DAVID (FROM THE CREATIONS OF ST. JOHN OF KRONSTADT)

The Lord is my being; The Lord is deliverance from eternal death; The Lord is my eternal belly; The Lord is my cleansing and deliverance from many sins and my sanctification; The Lord is strength in my weakness, space in my crampedness, hope in my cowardice and despondency; The Lord is light in my darkness, peace in my confusion; The Lord is an intercessor in my temptations. He is my thinking, my desire, my activity; He is the light of soul and body, food, drink, my robe, my shield, my weapon. Everything is for me Lord!

Prayer of thanksgiving to the Mother of God

Believers know how powerful sincere prayers to the Mother of God are. She saves from illness, sends relief to the soul in sorrow, and through her prayers family conflicts are resolved. You can also read words of gratitude to the Mother of God every day, just like you can to God.

It occupies a special position in the Orthodox faith. The Mother of God is considered so holy that she surpasses all other people and even angels in the purity of her soul. That is why a special prayer appeal has been compiled for her:

There is an icon of the Mother of God in every home; you can turn to the Lady before any image. You can also express your gratitude by purchasing a church candle. A very good deed is donation to the poor, some good deed for orphans. After all, this is what Christians should do - help those who need support. If all goes well, never forget about the weak, needy, hurt and lost souls.

Prayer service - a type of worship

Church Sacraments form the basis of the religious life of believers. However, Christians have needs (demands) when it is necessary to ask the Lord, the Mother of God and the saints for something. Or, conversely, thank you for the benefits received. In the Orthodox Church there is a special type of private worship for this purpose - prayer services. They, including the thanksgiving prayer service, can be performed either together with public services or independently.

Prayer

Prayers of thanksgiving to the saints

Gratitude is the quality of a person that helps him become stronger and also get rid of bad thoughts and other negativity. First of all, the utterance of this type of prayer is necessary not so much for the person to whom it is addressed, but for the one saying it.

Since you can ask and thank any saint without any difference. But most often requests and prayers of gratitude are sent to the Most Holy Theotokos. This is explained by the fact that the Mother of God does not leave those who really need it alone with their problems. In addition, most mothers ask her to solve problems and help their children, since she is their intercessor.

Most often, such prayers of gratitude are directed in gratitude for:

  • solving problems in the family,
  • healing from illnesses,
  • finding inner balance and so on.

There are many different types of this prayer. Some people do not consider it necessary to memorize texts from prayer books and prefer saying words from the heart. Others do not want to deviate from the already existing charter. Among the most common are:

The Mother praises the glorious apostolic face of her Creator to you; The Mother of God magnifies many martyrs for you; The glorious host of confessors of God the Word gives you a temple; To you the ruling Poles preach the image of virginity; All the heavenly hosts praise you, the Queen of Heaven. Throughout the entire universe the Holy Church glorifies you, honoring the Mother of God; He extols thee true King of heaven, the Maiden. You are the Angel Lady, You are the door of heaven, You are the ladder of the Kingdom of Heaven, You are the palace of the King of glory, You are the ark of piety and grace, You are the abyss of bounties, You are the refuge of sinners.

We advise you to study the Prayers of the Pochaev Mother of God

You are the Mother of the Savior, you received freedom for the sake of a captive man, you received God in your womb. The enemy has been trampled upon by you; You have opened the doors of the Kingdom of Heaven to the faithful. You stand at the right hand of God; You pray to God for us, Virgin Mary, who will judge the living and the dead. We therefore ask You, Intercessor before Your Son and God, Who redeemed us with Your blood, so that we may receive the reward in eternal glory. Save Thy people, O Mother of God, and bless Thy inheritance, for let us be partakers of Thy inheritance; preserve and keep us even unto the ages.

Every day, O Most Holy One, we wish to praise and please You with our hearts and lips. Grant, Most Merciful Mother, now and always to preserve us from sin; have mercy on us, Intercessor, have mercy on us. May Thy mercy be upon us, as we trust in Thee forever. Amen."

To the Lord from Saint Ambrose

During his lifetime he was a poet, theologian, and bishop. Ambrose was influential, he brought Augustine Aurelius to Christianity and baptized him. Known for his non-covetousness, because he donated his wealth to the church. He was an example of selflessness when turning to the Lord, endless love for the Almighty, filled with gratitude and steadfastly endured all hardships, maintaining faith.

Through Ambrose's prayer the Lord is glorified. Thanks is offered for every good deed, visible and invisible. Our Heavenly Father is glorified by the church, martyrs, apostles, Saints, heavenly beings (angels). They pray to the Son of God Jesus Christ, who sits on the right side of God in the glory of the Father. At the same time, gratitude is not said, but it is implied, because the text is read zealously, with a deep message to the glory of the Almighty.

We praise God to You, we confess to You the Lord, The whole earth magnifies Your Eternal Father; To you all the Angels, to you the Heavens and all the Powers, to you the unceasing voices of the Cherubim and Seraphim cry: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts, the essence of Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of Your glory.

The glorious apostolic face is to you, the prophetic number of praise is to you, the bright martyr’s army praises you; Throughout the entire universe the Holy Church confesses to You: the Father of incomprehensible majesty, worshiping Your true and Only Begotten Son, and the Holy Comforter of the Spirit.

You are the King of glory, Christ, You are the ever-present Son of the Father; For the sake of deliverance, when you received a man, you did not disdain the Virgin’s womb; Having overcome the sting of death, you have opened the Kingdom of Heaven to believers; You sit at the right hand of God in the glory of the Fathers, the Judge comes to believe.

We therefore ask You: help Thy servant, whom Thou hast redeemed with His honest Blood, to reign with Thy saints in Thy eternal glory.

Save Your people, Lord, and bless Your heritage, correct them, and exalt them forever.

We will bless You all the days, and we will praise Your name forever and ever.

Grant, Lord, that on this day we may be preserved without sin.

Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us; May Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we trust in Thee; in Thee, Lord, let us trust, let us not be ashamed forever.

Amen.

When should you offer prayers?

Gratitude for something in the first place brings great benefits to the one who expresses it. He shares his bright feelings and receives even more positivity in return. In addition, words of gratitude make a person kinder and spiritually stronger. Most often, prayers are offered to Jesus Christ and the Mother of God, who help people even after death. They show the right path, help cope with difficulties, and protect families.

Orthodox prayers have enormous power - with their help you can cope with illness, resolve troubles, get rid of sadness, etc. Unfortunately, most believers belong to the higher powers as consumers, because... turn to them in difficult moments, and after getting what they want, they forget to thank them for it. In addition, few people think about what they have at the moment, but much of this is available thanks to higher powers that have always been nearby.

Prayers of gratitude to God should be offered not only in difficult moments, but also in other situations, for example:

  • In the morning after waking up. Unfortunately, few people realize that they were lucky enough to wake up this morning, while others were not.
  • Going outside and going about your business. Not every person can do something as simple as a walk.
  • When meeting and talking with your relatives. Some people may not have loved ones at all, and they suffer completely alone.
  • Hugging, kissing or wishing sweet dreams to your children. Not everyone is given the opportunity to experience parental happiness.
  • Sitting down at the dinner table. Some may not even have a piece of bread.

The hardest thing is to offer words of gratitude for the difficulties and troubles that we sometimes have to face. But these situations are given to us for a reason, but so that we ultimately become stronger, and next time we can cope with more complex problems, and not give up.

How to submit notes and order a prayer service to the Lord Jesus Christ?

You need to find out in the church shop how to write a note, where and to whom to give it, how to order a prayer service. Recommendations:

  • prepare an A4 sheet for writing;
  • in the upper part you need to draw a cross;
  • the title should write “Thanksgiving Prayer”;
  • everyone who should be mentioned is listed below - the person asking writes their names, but there are some restrictions - it is permissible to indicate no more than 10 people;
  • You should start with men's names, then women's names, and then children's names.

Moreover, you can only indicate those who have already been baptized. Suicides are not included on this list. Rules for submitting a note:

  • you need to find out in the church shop when you can bring a note; usually they are not accepted during the pre-holiday period before Lent;
  • on other days, the note should be submitted 1 day before the service;
  • when presenting it, a donation should be given, and there are no strict requirements for its size, everyone gives as much as they can.

When holding a thanksgiving prayer, candles will be needed. They can also be purchased at the church store, and the exact quantity is specified here.

Prayers to the Lord and Mother of God

Almost every person believes in the Savior, while some of them visit the temple of God only when a need arises, according to fashion trends or on major celebrations, while others confirm their belief through communion, confession and good deeds. A prayer addressed to the Divine powers passes through the very heart of a person, pointing it in the right direction to all good-natured people. Prayers of thanksgiving to the Lord and the Mother of God are those prayers, the text of which every Orthodox believer should know. Gratitude is the quality that allows a person to get rid of accumulated negativity, clear the mind of bad thoughts and become stronger.

Prayers of thanksgiving to the Lord and Mother of God for every day

True Christian believers know very well how effective Orthodox prayers can be. Higher powers come to help in sorrows and adversities, family problems and various troubles, as well as when illness overcomes and love discords appear, but at the same time, for all this, you must learn to express your praise to them.

The most famous prayer is considered to be “Our Father”, which can well be considered as a prayer of praise and said every day:

What should we say thanks for?

The Earthly Kingdom is a test of the Lord sent to test our spirit. Naturally, life does not seem as happy as it could be. Sometimes people do not see the light in the series of failures that may haunt them. This burdens the soul, and demons strive to turn it away from the Creator.

It seems that the Lord does not deserve gratitude. He performs miracles and so it should be. But that's not true. One cannot perceive the favor of the Almighty as something obligatory. From birth we owe our lives and our state of affairs to Him.

God can be seen in the brightest moments. Personally, the Creator is invisible in many events, but he is there. Meeting your soulmate, the ability to give birth, breathe, think, have your own opinion - this is all God.

The creation of the Lord can be seen everywhere. The simplest thing is nature. He created it, so in warm weather, pouring rain, the growth of beautiful plants there is a part of Him. If life is dull and meaningless, ask yourself: “Do you thank the Creator?” Remember, when you want to receive something, be grateful for what you have already acquired. His grace is hidden in the little things, you just have to open your eyes and notice it.

It seems like a small thing, but a person needs to be taught to be grateful. Not only for what happened, but also for what will happen. Has the long-awaited child been born? Thank Him. Are you happy to live and enjoy every moment? Give thanks because he is everywhere.

Gratitude is a non-mechanical process. One should thank not in human language, but in the language of the soul. The answer will follow, He will answer you in the form in which He wishes.

The meaning of the prayer of righteous Simeon

Next comes the prayer of Righteous Simeon, which has deep religious meaning. In Orthodoxy, he is most often called Simeon the God-Receiver. This is in memory of the event described in the Gospel. According to church tradition, he was one of the wise men who translated the Bible into Greek (this translation is called the Septuagint). Several legends are associated with Simeon about how the elder received a revelation about Christ. He was promised that he would not see death until he saw the Savior, about whom it was written in the prophets.

We advise you to study Psalm 5: why they read it, interpretation, text of the prayer

And the righteous man actually met Joseph, Mary and the Child when he was brought to the temple after his birth. He immediately understood who was in front of him, so his words express joy that the promise was fulfilled and he could die in peace. According to Dmitry of Rostov, by that time he was already more than 300 years old.

For the rest of the day, you should refrain from entertainment, sinful addictions (such as smoking, alcohol), and it is advisable to avoid physical intimacy. Everything is aimed at preserving longer the grace bestowed by the Lord. May the Lord grant you forgiveness of sins and eternal life!

Composition of the prayer service

The prayer service consists of several litanies (prayer-petitions). It includes special petitions on the occasion of a prayer service. However, different prayer services have their own characteristics. In some cases, they may include canons. In others, there are no canons. Still others do not contain gospel readings. The rite is described in the “Book of Prayer Sings” and in the Trebnik.

For example, prayers during drought or bad weather are provided with the reading of the canon. On New Year's Day or before the start of the school year, a prayer service is served without a canon. The Gospel reading is not performed during the rite of blessing of soldiers going to war.

Prayer services can be performed with a small blessing of water. Then they are called water sanctified.

With the reading of the akathist, prayers are served, as a rule, in front of the miraculous icon and the relics of saints. They are also used when shrines are brought to the temple for believers to worship.

Prayer to the Mother of God “Virgin, rejoice, full of grace Mary, the Lord is with you”

“Mother of God, Hail Mary of Grace, the Lord is with you” is one of the most powerful prayers in all of Orthodoxy. A great many real miracles are associated with it, confirmed by facts and testimonies by a huge number of people who thus turned to God for help and blessing. And to this day it does not lose its significance and is truly miraculous.

Prayer “Gracious Virgin Mary, rejoice”

The history of this prayer is interesting and unique: its basis is the greeting during the Annunciation of Archangel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, precisely at the moment when he informed her about her election by the Almighty to become the Mother of the Great Savior of the whole world. Indeed, the Orthodox Church places the Mother of God above all saints and angels.

Prayer itself appeared in the first centuries of Christianity. The second name is “Angel's Greeting.” And everyone knows the famous “Ave, Maria” - its equivalent in Latin.

She is so strong that she helps people in seemingly hopeless, desperate and sometimes even tragic life circumstances. You can pronounce its text both in Russian and in Old Church Slavonic.

Thus, the Queen of Heaven bestowed upon all Orthodox humanity the Rule of the Theotokos, which was forgotten over time. It was revived by the Most Holy Seraphim of Sarov, who admonished us to read it 150 times daily in order to gain the Veil of the Virgin Mary.

PSALM 103

Bless the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you are greatly exalted; You have clothed yourself in confession and greatness; dress yourself in light like a robe, stretch out the sky like a skin; cover Your most exalted waters, set the clouds for Your ascent, walk on the wing of the wind; create your angels, your spirits, and your servants, a fiery flame.

Found the earth on its firmament: it will not bow down forever. The abyss is like a robe; waters will appear on the mountains; They will flee from Your rebuke; they will fear the voice of Your thunder. Mountains rise and fields descend to the place you founded for them. You have set a limit, it will not be passed, the earth will be buried below.

Send springs into the wilds, and waters will flow through the mountains. All the animals of the village are drinking, waiting for the onagers to satisfy their thirst. On you the birds of the sky are grafted; from the environment the stones will give a voice. Solder the mountains from Your exalted ones; From the fruit of Your works the earth will be satisfied.

Vegetate grass for cattle, and grain for the service of man, to bring bread from the ground; and wine gladdens a man's heart, anointing the face with oil, and bread strengthens a man's heart. The trees of Poland and the cedars of Lebanon, which you planted, will be satisfied.

There the birds will nest, Erodian’s dwelling leads them. The mountains are high with trees, the stone is a refuge for the hare. He created the moon in time, the sun knew its west. Thou didst set darkness, and it became night, in which all the wild beasts of the oak forests would pass, roaring, to snatch and seek food for themselves from God.

The sun has risen, and they have gathered together and lie down in their beds. A man will go out to his work, and to his work until the evening. For Thy works are magnified, O Lord: with wisdom Thou hast created all things: the earth is filled with Thy creation. This sea is great and spacious, there are reptiles there, there are countless of them, small animals with great ones.

There ships sail, this serpent, whom you created, curse him. Everyone is looking to You, to give them food at a good time. I will give to You, they will gather, I will open Your hand, they will be filled with all kinds of goodness. I will turn away Your face, and they will rebel; take away their spirit, and they will disappear and return to their dust. Follow Thy Spirit, and they will be created, and renew the face of the earth. Be the glory of the Lord forever;

The Lord will rejoice in His works; look at the earth and make it shake, touch the mountains and make them smoke. I will sing to the Lord in my belly, I will sing to my God until I am; May my conversation delight Him, and I will rejoice in the Lord. Let sinners disappear from the earth, and lawless women, as if they did not exist. Bless the Lord, my soul. The sun knows your west, you put darkness and became night. Because Thy works have been magnified, O Lord, Thou hast done all things with wisdom.

The Importance of Gratitude

Every week, thanksgiving services are held in churches. Only there are not as many parishioners as there could be

Perhaps this is because they do not fully understand the importance of this movement of the soul. It is not by chance that the Holy Church included prayers of thanksgiving in the daily morning rule

St. Ignatius (Brianchaninov) explains how Christians benefit from reading them every day:

  • strengthen their faith in God;
  • receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit;
  • gain a better understanding of Bible teaching.

Blessing the name of God is truly a worthy activity. King David wrote about this in his psalms: “Praise the name of the Lord,” he urged everyone. This does not require a special occasion, because the greatness of creation is constantly before our eyes. And it’s not the Lord’s fault that we don’t notice him.

What to be grateful for:

  • The Lord Jesus Christ gave His life for our transgressions, endured terrible torment, being holy.
  • Because the Lord tolerates our sins.
  • Everything in life is given by God: human talents, good aspirations, family, food and clothing, the ability to breathe and hear children's laughter.

A good spiritual exercise is to find a few things in your life for which you can thank the Creator. Think about this and say the following prayer to the Lord:

Perhaps a real feeling of joy will not immediately appear in your soul, but it will certainly appear and grow. With time

That's why it's so important to thank a higher power every day.

PSALM 145

Praise the Lord, my soul. I will praise the Lord in my belly, I will sing to my God as long as I am. Do not trust in princes, in the sons of men, for in them there is no salvation. His spirit will depart and return to his land. On that day all his thoughts will perish.

Blessed is the God of Jacob, his Helper, his trust in the Lord his God, who created heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, who preserves the truth forever, who brings judgment to the offended, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord will decide the chained ones. The Lord makes the blind wise. The Lord raises up the downtrodden. The Lord loves the righteous. The Lord protects strangers, He will accept the orphan and the widow, and He will destroy the path of sinners. The Lord your God will reign forever in Zion, forever and ever.

How to correctly read the prayer of gratitude to the Mother of God?

For words of gratitude to be heard, they must be read in front of the icon of the Mother of God. Any of those that are in the house can be used if the prayer is said at home. Usually a prayer of gratitude is read when solving the following problems:

  • family conflicts;
  • healing from illnesses;

We must thank the Most Holy Theotokos for her help sincerely and with all our hearts. The words of prayer will give you a positive attitude for the whole day, filling you with faith, strength and confidence in solving problems that arise.

Rules and recommendations for reading prayers

Prayers read within the walls of the temple acquire special power and effectiveness, so it is recommended to offer words of gratitude there. If for some reason this cannot be done, then you can create the most favorable conditions at home. To do this, you need an icon of the saint, to whom prayer words are offered, and a church candle.

During prayer, it is important to concentrate on the words and your message, so it is better to do this in private, so that no one interferes. If you want to turn to God while you are away from home and there is no way to be alone, it is recommended to take a comfortable position, concentrate on the image of the saint, and read the text to yourself or in a whisper

The Lord should always be in your heart, so you should thank him for everything every day, regardless of whether you turned to him with a request today or not. It is best to pray in the morning after waking up, and in the evening before going to bed. For an Orthodox person, this ritual should become an obligatory part of his daily life, because this is how true faith is manifested.

If the requested wish is received

When it is necessary to receive something that, in a person’s opinion, is lacking for happiness, the person praying can often and quite sincerely turn to the Almighty. But after receiving gifts, he forgets about God. This self-serving attitude has nothing to do with true gratitude.

To maintain faith and love for God,

You should not expect instant fulfillment of desires when reading a prayer.

If the one who asked was given everything that he prayed for, then one must continue to give thanks for what he received. They praise the Almighty for other gifts: tests, help in passing them, the beauty of the world around them and the opportunity to feel love. The person reading the prayer text asking for the fulfillment of a desire should thank the Heavenly Father for the gift already received. For this, another prayer is chosen. Continuous turning to God, regardless of life situation, is a true manifestation of love for Him.
